Having been about a year since we first dined here we wanted to try this place out again and had the perfect opportunity in that it was my mother in law's birthday and she's a big fan of Italian cuisine (who isn't). I'm happy to share that the service issues from our first visit have been more than made up for and the food was once again excellent. Dinner for three on a Sunday night at 5:30pm (I hate eating that early but when you have an 80-year old in your party these are the things you deal with ). Our server Sandra was wonderful and took great care of us. She refilled our waters and soft drinks multiple times and was so friendly and welcoming. The food runners and bussers are also working very hard to take care of everything. We started with the meatballs, focaccia and the eggplant parmigiana for appetizers. They were all outstanding but the eggplant really impressed. It's perfectly tender in a lovely light egg batter. The bread is the perfect accompaniment to sop up the red sauce from the delicious meatballs. I ordered the branzino for my entree and loved it. The skin was perfectly crisp without overcooking the fish. Very well done. Wife and her mom shared a couple of chicken dishes (they only eat chicken breast in their family lol) which I didn't try but they reported as good. We shared two sides - the Brussels sprouts and the risotto. I really enjoyed the sprouts - roasted to just tender inside with crispy outside. The risotto was the only item I tried and didn't care for - it was overcooked beyond the toothsome texture you want which resulted in a bowl of mush. We wanted to try a dessert so we went with the peach cobbler pizza since that wasn't on the menu the last time we dined here. We were very impressed with the flavors and especially with the super fresh pizza dough. Definitely recommended. Overall we're so pleased to have this caliber of restaurant so close to our neighborhood and even more pleased they've made it this long being so close to Green Valley ("Where culinary dreams go to die"). Dinner for three came to $197 before tax and tip which we felt was an excellent value considering the food quality. That included two soft drinks and two glasses of good wine. This is a favorite in our house. My 6 year old requested this for dinner to celebrate her birthday and we gladly obliged. Having gone a handful of times and experienced different servers, shopped around the menu and explored most of the cocktail menu, this has become a staple stop in our neighborhood. The pizzas are generous size, delicious and will make you make the tough decision of ordering a pizza with your entree or not. The chefs specials have been a home run every time and they listen to the people and add the favorites as menu items. A sleeper item on the menu as well is the bread, don't skip it! Service. The service is always great. The staff checks in regularly and has several fine dining tendencies that carry over through out the visit but still keep it a little more relaxed and friendly than fine dining. The staff also always takes the time to make it a special experience for my 6 year old. The atmosphere is busy and upbeat. What a cute place! My sister and I came for brunch one Saturday morning before heading out for shopping right as they opened. Wasn't super busy, but we did do a reservation just in case. I really liked the interior, really cute. There was lots of seating, including bar seating. Our server was attentive and very kind, she was also very on top of it! They weirdly didn't have coffee drinks on the menu, but they did have brown sugar syrup and was able to do simple lattes which was very kind. We had the best dinner at Nudo Italiano and I already can't wait to go back. First of all, our server Sergio was AMAZING. He was so knowledgeable about the menu, gave great recommendations, and just made the whole experience feel smooth and welcoming. Super happy that Nudo opened in our neighborhood since their happy hour is great value! We came twice, once during non-happy hour and once for happy hour. Note happy hour is only at the bar (and lounge?), not available for sit-down tables in the dining room. Food highlights: they have a legit pizza oven and make their own pasta, so everything tastes really fresh and high-quality. Their homemade focaccia is super airy and a great starter at $5. During happy hour, all of their pizzas are $10 - this is one of the best deals I've found in the valley so far given the portion size and the quality. The service has been impeccable, albeit we came during off times, so not sure if that's the case during more busy hours/days. We had a toddler with us one of the times and he was really understanding if she was fussy and when we mentioned that she was obsessed with balsamic, he was quick to get us some just for her (and replenished it when we ran out). I had recently recommended this place to friends. They said they didn't love their lack of protein options on the pastas, and I defended this restaurant saying the salmon was always delicious if you added this. The pappardelle is one of my favorite dishes here, and the pizza is pretty high quality. However, I will now take a break from this place because of a bad experience today. We visited for brunch, on a Sunday, and there were only about 4 tables with guests when we arrived. Right after us, two other large parties arrived. Right off the bat, our waitress seemed rushed, but repeated our order and she seemed to have gotten it all. Our drinks arrived. Soon our appetizer arrived. Everything was good up till then. Then about 20 mins later, they brought out bacon sides, potato sides, and only my husband got his panini about 30 mins in. I've never seen a restaurant bring out sides without the main dish. You order sides to go with the dish. The rest of our party waited for two frittatas for at least another 10 mins. And then about 10 mins later, my bucatini finally arrived. Probably an hour after I ordered. They didn't notice or acknowledge that the food was missing until I was finally looking around trying to figure out what happened. I noticed every table who had arrived after us had their food. I don't think our waitress was aware that we were missing our food, since she never checked in with us. She eventually noticed half our table was missing dishes and seemed confused. Then two more main dishes arrived, and about 10 mins later, mine finally arrived. I should note I was also the first person whose order she wrote down, but my food was the last to come out. I also noticed the two large parties who arrived after us were already finishing their meal while mine hadn't even arrived. I've never experienced this here. We had come in for dinner multiple times, and this was our first time eating brunch at this restaurant, so maybe the secret is to not come to their brunch again. They offered a complimentary dessert for mine and my husband's birthdays, but I honestly wasn't in the mood for that after the bad experience. I also think I wouldn't have left such a detailed review if the waitress had communicated throughout our time there. She kept checking on other tables and only after I looked like an angry actor on Hell's Kitchen, did she eventually notice I didn't have any food. It felt disorganized and the lack of attentiveness or care didn't help. I would understand if they let us know the kitchen was behind, but it mostly seemed like she forgot to put in my order and didn't care, until I saw another waiter have a talk with her. I'm making conjectures and I don't know what happened. But I really hope to return someday and have a better experience. The food is high quality but the service really needs to be more consistent. My friend recommended this restaurant and I was really excited to try it with her. The restaurant looks beautiful inside. It is definitely a great date night spot or a place for a special occasion. They started us off with some tasty amuse bouches: cheese stuffed peppers, parmesan, and a pickled onion. All of them were delicious, but the onion was my favorite. We ordered the focaccia, which was light and fluffy with a perfectly crispy exterior. It paired very well with the olive oil on the table. For our entrées, we ordered the bucatini and the branzino. Both were outstanding. The bucatini was perfectly al dente and the sauce was buttery, garlicky, and lemony. It was delicious with the perfectly cooked shrimp. The branzino was moist, flaky, and well seasoned, and it paired beautifully with the broccoli and tomatoes. I really enjoyed both dishes. For dessert, we tried the "spaghetti and meatballs." So I came here on a recommendation from someone who can be a pretty hash critic so I was a bit surprised that my experience was not better. Crudo: (3/5) I was not a fan of the sauce that came on it. It was sweet and i didn't think it paired well. Diavola Pizza (4/5): the crust was perfectly cooked and the pizza had a nice kick to it! Pipe Rigate (3/5): pasta was perfect cooked and great texture but the dish was bland and didn't have a ton of flavor Mezzi Rigatoni (3/5): same as the pappardelle, pasta was perfectly cooked but I barely tasted the cheese or even the pepper Pappardelle (4/5): this dish had more flavor than the rest but I still felt that it was bland Tiramisu (3/5): even the tiramisu was bland. My wife suggested we finally try this place since she wanted to go out and celebrate the anniversary of our engagement. It was around 7 when we arrived and only had to wait a few minutes to be seated. The interior is nice and cozy, but the real reason to come is the food. We ordered calamari which had a lemon sauce and a spicy marina. That was pretty good. We ordered a caesar salad, which for $13 was just ok. Lettuce, dressing and some finely grated breadcrumbs. We are missing a solid Italian spot in the southwest/Southern Highlands area and I think Nudo has the potential to be it, but isn't quite there yet. The interior is well decorated and seating is well-organized. The bar area is also great and offers a great variety of cocktails like old fashioneds, spritzes, and mocktails. I don't think there are many bars in this area of town with great cocktail options. The wine list, however, left some to be desired. It was a confusing mix of really basic options like Kim Crawford and Jordan, along with some solid options like Schramsberg blanc de blanc, etc. Now onto the food. The focaccia was excellent and a must get. We got the Caesar salad, which had great quality lettuce, but was too salty and lacked the umami of anchovies. The pizza margherita had a weird pool of oil on top and didn't have enough cheese, but the crust had great chew and the overall taste was really good. For entrees, we had the cacio e Pepe and chicken parm. The house made pasta was of fantastic quality and perfectly al dente, but didn't have enough sauce and pepper flavor. I actually ended up borrowing some of the chicken parm red sauce to accompany the pasta. The chicken parm was well-cooked and juicy, but the burrata that came on top felt disjointed. I also think Nudo goes a little too wild with the chiffonade basil, which was on a lot of our dishes. Personally not a fan of basil on cacio e Pepe, for example. For dessert, the tiramisu, with the cocoa powder and one layer (?) of the lady fingers kind of lacking in espresso, felt dry. Our server and busboys were friendly and didn't miss a beat. We just moved into the Southern Highlands area and I'm surprised and a little upset I hadn't heard of Nudo sooner! We've driven past it for a while now and last night after a long day out at the lake we decided to finally try it and I was so so pleasantly surprised! Vegas has no shortage of Italian spots but Nudo brings the culinary expertise of the strip to your local neighborhood restaurant. It feels like the type of restaurants you find downtown (like Esther's or Sparrow and Wolf) professional and upscale- but built for locals. The pricing for what you get is great, the ambiance is beautiful and upscale but still approachable like a neighborhood spot. It really does what a lot of local restaurants fail to do and delivers a high quality and chef driven menu without being overpriced or pretentious. Our server Tony was awesome, and clearly an industry pro- again finding that perfect balance between being welcoming and casual while still providing the best parts of upscale dining- awesome menu spiels, in-depth knowledge of all the dishes, attentive to what mood we were in and making recommendations based on that, great table maintenance etc. I could break down every individual dish we had but honestly it's unnecessary- even the basics like the margherita pizza and the rosemary focaccia stood out because of the quality. Everything was delicious, the pacing felt perfect and the cocktails and wine selection were great. The only thing we were disappointed by was not having room in our stomachs to try more- but our server told us about the Happy Hour and their new brunch which we can't wait to try so they will be seeing us again very shortly!
