Absolutely love this Salvadorian restaurant Nueva San Salvador. The service was on point and the staff is attentive. Their seafood soup which I believe is only available on the weekends and their pupusas are to die for. Every dish that we tried was so delicious and very fresh. The restaurant is very clean and gets very busy on the weekends. We will absolutely be back soon, I plan to try a few new dishes. read more

I have previously ordered lunch from this place and it is decent, but their breakfast is a big NO. In the past, their "mantequilla" tasted like they had put flour in it, this is something I heard places do to preserve it, I dont know how real it is but the taste makes it believable. Today, the case was similar. I ordered the breakfast with meat and coffee and my son ordered a baleada and an Orange juice. First, we had to return the "fresh squeezed OJ", it tasted like the oranges had been there way longer than expected, but waayyy longer. My son didnt complain about his baleada. My breakfast on the other end, did not reach the quality I was expecting. The beans and meat were too salty. I ordered a flour tortilla, and it was so hard that when I tried to bend it it broke. That only happens when the dough you use is old. I ordered scrambled eggs mixed with onions and tomatoes with my order. Nothing surprising or tasty there. You can find better places within a mile radius, so save yourself the time. read more

I was really close to giving this place two stars, but I don't want this to deter Yelpers from giving this place a shot. Why, you probably didn't ask but I'll address anyhow? The food was cooked with a ridiculous amount of MSG. That's the stuff that makes your food tasty, but also makes you chug a gallon of water two hours later when it's all digested and absorbed into your now dehydrated bloodstream. That throws me off every single time I experience it because it's 100% not necessary but used for convenience. For that reason, I probably could only eat here during a rare craving knowing I have nothing else to do later but drink water as fast as I can. Guys, I woke up from a dead sleep at midnight not understanding why I was so thirsty but survival instincts kicked in. But that's not an issue for everyone and I understand that. The food tasted delicious - pupusas with loroco is my favorite thing here, though the soup (I got tripe but same soup base I saw for beef) comes in a very close second because it was filled with veggies and flavor (yes, MSG too). My pupusas to go were packed with a pickled relish type thing that was a great condiment for the stuffed tortilla. Most importantly, for $10, I had enough food for two meals! Extremely affordable lunch and dinner. The other reviews noting poor service are more or less accurate. When I visited on a Sunday afternoon, the place was packed and while waitresses (behind the counter eating their lunch out of styrofoam cups that were set on the counter whenever they needed two hands to pick utensils) made eye contact with me, nobody helped me until another friendly patron got their attention and gestured to me. No ignoring me now! Thanks stranger! Menus in English and Spanish, and the food came out within 20 minutes of placing my order at the counter. However, Spanish was the primary language here so I struggled a bit, pointing to items that I wanted. TV behind the bar kept me entertained, and there's plenty of parking (even if the drivers take these spaces mostly as ignorable suggestions). read more

II was in hurry and ordered takeout I don't remember the exact name of the dish but I had brown beans and rice and a meat.The serving size was generous and the food was Excellent.I ate later because I was busy but it was so delicious and I kept some of the meat for my breakfast later at home.This Reasturant isn't big but the Service was Excellent and I will go back.Yes it's like hidden in a little shopping center and I found this place by accident but it was good and I'm glad I found and would recommend it to other people.It's a Gem and didn't cost a lot.Yes I would recommend this Restaurant,it's another hidden gem in the Beautiful City of Miami.The Food is delicious and the service outstanding and I always look forward to eat at this restaurant again. read more

Salvadorian BBQ plate ($22) comes with huge portion of well-seasoned steak, pork chop, chicken, shrimps, papusa and sausages. We picked fried Yuca and fried cheese for 2 sides (included in $22 deal) Everything was delicious except the sausages, not to my taste. It also comes with cabbages, onions and tomatoes. Don't forget to try pickled onions in the bottle for a little kick. If you want more kick, ie, heat, try the sauce.. It's really spicy, no joke (coming from someone who likes Szechuan Chinese food!) Our waitress speaks English and keeps checking on our table. She's very sweet, too. Most waitresses couldn't speak English but I'm used to that fact in Miami. It's somewhat "nicer" on the inside than it appears on the outside. It's basically a small Latin version of a diner. I had a quick breakfast, I had the scrambled eggs with chorizo. I honestly loved the portions. It brought a cup of refried beans, a cup of cream, a few slices of cheese, 2 tortillas, & sweet plantains. A good Salvadorian restaurant. What has kept me coming back is there traditional plates, with large portions and great prices, that don't break your wallet. So, I'm eating healthy and my regular entrée is, tilapia fillet grilled and double cabbage. Love their cabbage salad thin sliced with vinegar and the tilapia is well cooked, doesn't have the dirt taste like tilapia has. The chicken a la braza is great, too. Tried their carne asada, soft and juicy. The pupusas, spicy pickled onions are great. I'm dying to try their desserts, but shit I'm on a diet :-( oh well someday. The dinning area is kept clean, also the men's bathroom. Service is good. Will definitely keep coming back. Four stars, because of the great fresh food and portions. read more

This restaurant is located in between the Allapattah and Little Havana neighborhood of Miami. Despite it's namesake, Little Havana has a large population of Central Americans and it is becoming increasingly common to find Nicaraguan, Salvadorian, Guatemalan, and Honduran food places. This restaurant is an example of this phenomenon and is probably one of three Salvadorian restaurants with in a mile radius. A majority of these restaurant's clientele are immigrants. Therefore, many of these restaurants go undiscovered and get few reviews. They stay as little local gems but serve some of Miami's best Hispanic food. This place is one of those local gems that serves good food but has few reviews. As a nearby resident. I have visited the place several times and I have had the chance to explore their menu. I have tried their Carne Asada (grilled steak), Pollo Milanesa (Breaded, Fried Chicken Breast smothered in ham and cheese), their Carne Guisada (stewed meat), and pupusa (stuffed tortillas). So far the food has been delicious but most importantly, it has been cheap. The value of this restaurant along with the taste makes this place a winner in my book. To any newcomers, I would definitely recommend any of the previously mentioned entrees. They are some of the highlights of the cuisine. I would also recommend the Horchata and spiced milk drink. The restaurant does have some shortfalls. The restaurant is located in a little run down plaza and its decor is cheap. Additionally, the place uses cheap ingredients. For example, the rice they use tastes and has the texture of the Uncle Ben's rice I would get in cafeteria food at public schools. The cheese they use is noticeably cheap and what I expect government cheese to taste like. These products don't affect the taste of the food but impact the texture. However, If you are willing to look past these superficial qualities you may find yourself enjoying some of Miami's tastiest and economical Salvadorian food. read more
