i normally don't post reviews but i just had to let everyone know just how professional and knowlegable this transmission repair shop was in my time of dire need. i had a 2003 ford crown victoria that had a fried transmission which was on its last leg. the owner chris k. who has a heart of platinum took the time to explain exactly what it was that my car needed in order to keep driving. my car is a police interceptor and as soon as i walked into their garage all i saw was fort lauderdale police department marked police units on lifts. i also saw that they woked on united states postal service vehicles too. immediately i could easily tell that they definitely knew their stuff. great price. great service. family owned and operated. these guys really care about you and your vehicle. they will help you get your shift together. when you go by their shop be sure to tell them that bill the detailer sent you. you will thank me later......... 5 stars all day long without fail. read more

As a female and not knowing a thing about cars chirstian the owner was nothing but the best ! I went to several other transmissions shops in the area that day and NONE treated me like chirstian did they just tried to take advantage of my lack of knowledge and just wanted my money! When I came to number one transmissions Christian kindly and patiently walked me through everything and made me feel extremely comfortable. He showed me exactly what the problem was and even updated me continuously as he was fixing it. All the other employees were also extremely helpful and friendly. I got my car back the day after and was very comfortable with the amount I paid which was the same amount from the start. I just had my 68rfe transmission built by Big Mike. His expertise with transmissions has made my 2013 Ram 3500 an absolute beast they built it with all billet components and their attention to detail was felt on the first test drive with Christian the owner. I ripped it and it shifted so perfectly I was in shock I have never had a good experience at a transmission shop till now and I couldn't be more happy it's like a new truck but with more power and the transmission just takes it and laughs. I just want to the the owner Chris, his son Christian and the entire staff for turning a terrible situation great. My transmission went out on a Friday morning leaving me stranded on 95 when I was 8 hours from home. We found his shop and called, told us to bring it in. Very friendly over the phone and the exact same in person. They diagnosed the problem with my truck showed me exactly what was wrong, by that afternoon my truck was fixed and running better then ever. Also I want to give Chris credit for being one of the cleanest auto shops I've EVER been in. The shops was organized, not dirty and gives you a really good feeling that you are in good hands. I took my '95 Supra Twin Turbo automatic transmission (A340E) to Number One Transmissions to be rebuilt. Chris's complete overhaul included all the necessary seals, gaskets, filters, shifting bands, high energy friction clutches, and steel reaction plates. In addition, Chris installed a high-performance sprag (billet) and a special size B2 clutch pack for additional friction. Chris also referred me to Royal Convertors where they rebuild my torque convertor (2800 rpm stall). Car was tuned on the dyno and made 610 rwhp @ 28 psi boost. Car has been running flawless for 8 months thus far. Based on cost, including torque convertor and transmission rebuild, this was a deal. Thanks again to Chris (owner), Mike (rebuilder), and team. They are the best in the business I have six high horse power trucks and all of them have their transmissions just picked up my six transmission and Christian invited me over to show me how it's all put together and all the major components of the transmission took two hours extra out of his time to explain everything on the Tranny I was receiving very good friends and the best transmission shop I have ever come across I've been dealing with them for over 10 years and never had a single issue and I have a swamp buggy with a turbo 400 that they built for me that I run 700 horse power through just about every single weekend and it's a monster They are one of the best cruise I have ever seen work together in fact that is not a crew in that shop that's a family!!!! read more

I called number one transmission this morning,1/23/18 at around 8:00 am spoke to a guy named chris , I told him I think i needed a clutch on my 1999 f350 4x4 ford, he said bring it in and he'll look at it. So I got there at around 1:00 pm , I was super impressed with how clean the shop was and how helpful the staff was, I met Chris he told one of the guys to take a look at my truck. Within minutes the diagnosed my problem it was a slave cylinder not the clutch! Im so happy at this point! 2 other shops i took it to said I needed a clutch and had to pull the tranny meaning big$$$ 3 hours later I'm back in my truck and it shifts perfect! Well. I am glad I didn't take the advice on the previous reviewer because my experience was a blessing. My quote was by far cheaper than another quote I received from a different company AND my car was towed to the shop, which was included in the fair price. I had rented a car for a week, thinking it would take that long but within 2 days I was notified that my car was ready, my car was even washed. Nina at the desk was very pleasant and knowledgeable. All employees that greeted me were pleasant and put me at ease. Before my car would only drive in 1st or 2nd gear. It drives great and I have no issues. Number One Transmissions is # 1 in my Book!! My Son was visiting South Florida last week and his truck broke down on I-95 Friday morning. Being 9 hours away from home that isn't a good thing. I called them up and spoke to Chris and wanted to see if they could look at it that day. They not only diagnosed it but had him back on the road that afternoon with a new transmission. Very poor customer service, they do not live up to their promises, they had me waiting all day on Wednesday the 3rd, I had an appointment with them and everything! Christian made me wait all day until the afternoon, then he tells me he has other money to make and things that are more important than my car to do! I lost am entire day of income and when I told him that he replied "I gotta make income too"! Then he tried to charge me more to get it done then what he originally quoted me and told me bring it on Saturday when their closed! Stay away from this shady place of business! This shop is a little far from me but I wouldn't take my vehicles anywhere else. I attempted to use other transmission shops around my area but they weren't customer oriented and only focused on sales. Number one Transmissions is a family owned and ran business so there name is everything for them. They will help you out in anyway possible and stand by there word. I'm a mechanic so I understand the automotive business and know a good shop when I see one. I recommend anyone That needs transmission work done to go to these guys and you won't have the nightmare experience other people have had at other shops. read more

They finished my transmission on a Friday afternoon but I was working and couldn't get their to pick up car. They are closed Saturday but Christian met me at the shop on his day off so I could get my car. Car ran well but there was a fluid leak. They picked up car, had it fixed first thing Monday morning, and filled up my gas tank for the inconvenience. Sometimes things happen and I don't think another shop would give me a free tank of gas. I have not had any problems and car runs great! Christian and crew are very polite and seem to care about their work and their customers! read more
