We were looking for someone to pull up floor from the spare bedroom and use the pieces to patch the remaining parts that were damaged due to a flood. We had a quote from another floor guy but we really liked Josh & his quote was great so we were in. The work itself took about a day a half and the patchwork was seamless. He was able to reuse many of the floor pieces to fix the main areas and we are now off to get the remaining bedroom carpeted. We woulda went with him for this as well but that was outside of his scope. Nevertheless the job was done below budget and quickly might I add. He also fixed a linen cabinet that had been removed due to the water damage. He was meticulous and thorough in cutting and replacing the baseboards as well. We cannot recommend him highly enough. We agreed that same time to have him build a custom stereo center for the new stereo I recently bought - you know, old school with speakers, receivers, CD player, phono and cassette. He helped me move super heavy furniture around without charging me. He missed a minor unimportant piece on something he was done assembling and took the time to take it apart and rebuild the whole thing correctly. The smaller the job, the more challenging it is to find such a person. Recently I had a small, solid cherry end table that two other so-called "wood workers" (who will go unnamed at this point) totally messed up. Originally, I was simply attempting to address a small scratch. I search for weeks trying to find someone who could correct their damage. I even went to a wood working school to get referrals - everyone was just too busy, could not help me. Finally, I lucked upon Action Furniture Repair in Roseville. I contacted Mike by phone at Action Furniture Repair who returned my call within 24 hours. He then gave me an estimate based on pictures I sent by email (within 8 hours). I then accepted his proposal, he came to my home and picked up the end table for repair. Nice gentleman, friendly yet professional. Mike made the repairs on time and within budget (the estimate). He then scheduled time with me to return my end table to my home. My wife and I are so pleased with the finished work. The outcome was just what we were hoping we would see. We had pulled up carpet, and the floors were spotted with lots of paint and had many awful looking stains; however, after the 5 days of work were completed, our hardwood floors were beautiful and flawless looking. My husband used to do this type of work, and he said their teams of workers did an excellent job in the sanding and prepping. They also stained the wood after sanding, then applied some type of polyurethane (3 coats). Excellent job, and John and his wife make a great management team, responsive and easy to communicate with. We had the work done in November of 2025.

I love my kitchen and I've also approached him about a future project. I had a basic 1970's era condo kitchen-outdated but can't really change the footprint. I tried to revive it with refacing. It still didn't function well, but I worked around it. A leak in the wall behind the cabinets, forced an unexpected remodel. I received estimates from several contractors using stock or RTA "IKEA" kitchen cabinets. The cabinets I saw in these stores did not seem as sturdy as my existing cabinets. I couldn't customize and would have similar unusable spaces where the pre-made cabinets are put together. The contractors and pre-made cabinet stores told me custom cabinets would cost twice as much as their estimates. While looking for design ideas, I saw multiple Houzz and Reddit posts stating a local carpenter could give me custom cabinets at a much better price. I am so glad I paid attention to the posts! That's how I found Sacramento Millworks. His price for my project was comparable to the quotes I received for stock cabinets. Raymond is a carpenter and a designer. Because of his experience, he handled everything. He walked me through everything, including a trip to the granite and tile shops. I just picked colors. He was very patient. Most of contractors I've worked with recently send employees to do the work. They just pop in here and there until it's time for payment. Raymond was on site working with one helper everyday. I really appreciated that!
