Perfect place for my favorite meal of the day, BRUNCH! Right in Avalon Park area which is beautiful to begin with, the cafe is in front of a lake. They have outside seating so this makes for a nice food with a nice view. There is limited seating I would say. The menu is pretty affordable which is a plus. They gave us two croquettes to try for free which was a super nice touch. It actually helped us decide what to order. My husband almost got the croquette meal but decided it was too much as a whole meal. He got the hungry man and he love it. I got the Bagellini which was a breakfast sandwich on a pressed bagel. You get to pick which bagel you want too. I got the Asiago bagel and it was yummy. Next time i will probably change the American cheese for cheddar. I got the lemoade and it was fresh made and perfect. It doesn't have refills though so be mindful of that. Love so many things about this place! Located in a cute little neighborhood center. Prices are fair, portions are generous, service is impeccable and the food was delicious. Not much else you can ask for. Our server Gabby was friendly, attentive, and so personable. It is a little small inside but i'm too busy enjoying the food to care. There is such a chill vibe to the place. My husband was particularly happy that the Copa America was playing. Right when we sat down we were given croquettes. We have never had them before but they were good to us! Super fresh. There is quite a bit of variety on the menu. I opted for the berry french toast without the cream cheese so that it was not unbearably sweet and I loved it. My husband has a higher tolerance for sweets and got the Nutella french toast. He said after a while it got really sweet but it was still delicious. The house fries were fine we just prefer our potatoes a little crispier. Yelp 100 Challenge 2017: 12/100: My lady loves to brunch, and honestly, I don't mind them. Specially when there's BACON involved. Yes, bacon... it's a true love story, one for the books. But enough about my current love affair with bacon, let me tell you about Nunos Cafe. Nunos or Nuno's (isn't supposed to have an apostrophe?) is one of the few Brunch places in Avalon... Not only is it one of the few, probably the most decent one in Avalon Park. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of awesome places that serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. But one that specializes on Brunch (AND HAS CRISPY, LOVELY BACON)... well, there's just a few, or two. Ok, talking about our experience here, I have to emphasize that the service is ver polite, friendly and you can tell the servers enjoy to work there. It's an attitude thing. They have the right attitude. A bit lost, at times (when it comes to the menu), but eager to please and make things right. So not being perfect is no biggie for me. Immediately, after being greeted, we were offered drinks and complementary croquets, which were warm, fuzzy and filled with brunch love. I didn't even know croquets could be THAT good... let alone complementary ones (no offense!). Server was patient with Michelle (when visiting a new place or wanting to try something new, she can easily take FOREVER to pick something from the menu... and patient she was. Food arrived within 20 minutes or so (Great timing, considering they are a "scratch kitchen) and food was tasty, hot and ready to be eaten.. and so I did. So you see, my fellow Yelpers... Nunos (or Nuno's) is a great place to get the most important meal of the day and I full heartedly recommend it... and its BACON. Enjoy. read more

I like to support the local businesses in Avalon so we decided to try this new restaurant. The food was okay but service seriously lacked. We had to ask for service after a table seated after us got serviced first. We had to ask for all items in our order. It was a bit of a let down. I was surprised to have a proper breakfast place in Avalon. Prices are great (between $5-$13) service was fast and the food was good. Glad we have something like this in Avalon! We had the order of pancakes which come with powder sugar and butter (3 8" or so pancakes), a veggie omelette and the corn-beef mash. Will def come back. read more

Love this little place in Avalon! I have visited a few times now and can say it is becoming one of my favorite breakfast spots. The family that runs Nuno's is super nice, the service is spot on, and the food is soooo good! I'm a big fan of the bagelini and the french toast that I "borrowed" off of my husband's plate. Used to love this place but..... me and my wife came in today to get take out. I ordered a wrap and she ordered and bagel and cream cheese. They had 5 tables in the place. They looked soooooo Unorganized today. The blonde girl in the front was yelling at the owner about grub hub and I mean yelling! The other server was talking and saying she has no clue what's going on right now, granted again only 5 tables in the building. You cannot say this is front of guest that is soooo unprofessional. So after waiting 25 mins for our food the blonde girl brought over our bagel no wrap. I waited another ten mins until I went and asked for my wrap and she said oh here it is???? I was so mad I said this is ridiculous I should not have to wait this long, and on top of that she rolled her eyes at me and gave me a really mean look, no one said sorry no manager talked to me nothing! Then I get home and open my box the wrap is the smallest thing I have ever seen for $8.00 I paid an extra $1 for onions and peppers and I saw one in there....???? The wrap had all egg and cheese and no ham I wouldn't spend more then $2 for this. I really hope the owner looks at this cause they used too have a good spot but it looks like no one is running it and the girls are ruining your place, sad to see that we will never go back. read more

My daughter and I went for brunch. We sat right away on a Saturday morning. The portion sizes were very generous and the food was delicious. It was strangely very hot in the restaurant. The thermostat was near our table and it was registering 83°. I don't know if it is the building because I have had similar experiences with other vendors in that strip. The owner has been there every time I've gone and he is always friendly and willing to answer any questions about the menu. My favorite is the Berrylicious French Toast; stuffed with cream cheese, fresh berries, toppled with powered sugar and raspberry drizzle. An honorable mention in the opposite direction is the Monte Christo; topped with grilled ham, turkey, and Swiss cheese. Theses two are great options if you're feeling something sweet or savory. A great addition to your meal is a sweet dough croquettes that is thrown with the meal. Nuno's is a little out of the way for me, but I've been here about 25 times, all for breakfast. As I write this, I wonder why I haven't been here for lunch? This is small batch corner restaurant that hits all the major points of a much larger, gourmet restaurant. Yes, I said gourmet. To me, this means fresh food, well prepared, regional offerings, fast, smiles. Even quality coffee. Never a bad experience, not even a mediocre one. The owner is present and approachable. Nice guy. Nuno's is a charming little restaurant that offers brunch. My GF and I happened to come during a busy hour for them which doesn't take much as they dont have a ton of room to themselves. They do have outside seelatinh offers a pretty nice view of a lake adjacent to the spot. The staff was friendly and you get seated fairly quickly. As I said earlier they were pretty busy when I went and it took awhile to get our food, one of the owners even came to the tables to apologize for the wait which was pretty professional. They gave complimentary appetizers which were pretty amazing croquettes that were presented as french toast. The food when it got to the table was worth the wait. My gf got a bagelini which looked delicious and I got Mom's omelette which had great flavor but had a little too much cheese which overpowered everything. Still satisfied with dish. I will definitely be returning there in the future and would recommend to any looking to check it. read more

Good service, I love the small taster they give before ordering and the place was clean. I found the food to be average though, nothing special. They did make sure the coffee stayed full. It seemed the kitchen was not able to put out more than one dish at a time however which was annoying. Even for just two of us one meal was brought out while the other person had to wait 5-6 minutes to get their meal. This was a good brunch place and close to home! Nice weather to sit outside too. I found this place off of Yelp, and decided to give it a try. Prices were cheap and the food quantity was decent! Two thumbs up there. They start you off with 2 sugar powdered sweet dough croquettes which were soft and delicious. I ordered the Mom's Omelet- chorizo, peppers, onions and cheese. Came with a side of potatoes and your choice of toast. Pretty decent omelet, but I will be back to try their French toast, pancakes and waffles!!! Some are glazed with Nutella, sugar powder, bananas, peanut butter, etc etc. So yes, I will be returning. My friend ordered a bagel and house made veggie cream cheese, with a side of fruit. Finished brunch off with a nice espresso (espresso was "okay"). This little gem hidden on Avalon Park is definitely worth visiting. My daughter and I came here to enjoy a good breakfast and our expectations were met. I ordered bacon and egg and cheese on a croissant with a side of corned beef hash. Everything was wonderful if I had to picky the corned beef hash was 90% hash and 10% corned beef. I hope they fix that ratio, but the home fries were awesome. The staff is friendly and the place is really clean. The bagels are AWESOME get one or a dozen you won't be sorry. Coming in this morning for the first time, already walking through the door the smell of powdered sugar and yummy treats filled the air! Utilizing their space well, their service was great, the food did not take long. I ordered a breakfast special, eggs bacon and cheese, the good stuff. There was a variety of baked goods in the counter display. We got some super yummy little breakfast appetizer that was a sweet croquette filled with a thick custard with a hint of sweetness. I always enjoyed a taylor ham egg and cheese with salt pepper ketchup on a kaiser roll growing up, it was made perfect as the first time I had it. The food was good. Their pancakes were amongst the best I've ever had! However the owner was a complete jerk. He had an attitude when my wife and I sent back an order that we didn't like. Also, the way he speaks to his employees (whether if it's in public or behind closed doors) is unacceptable. He has such a great group and they do not deserve that treatment. Came based on a recommendation - left based on experience. Walked in and stood at counter with 5 staff members standing. Not a smile or hello. After we asked if we seat ourselves we were told no and waited to be seated. We sat - were given menus and again waited. Staff remained at the counter and one server passed by us over and over again. No hello was offered , can I get a drink or take an order. The restaurant was not even busy. We got up and shared our experience with whom we thought may be a manager. He did not seem surprised.
