My dish was barely warm, the beans were way too soupy, and I had asked for over-medium eggs, but they came over easy. I sent it back and told the server the dish was lukewarm and the eggs were not prepared as requested. She quickly came back with another plate that pretty much had the exact same issues. Lukewarm beans and potatoes and over-easy eggs. Rather than send it back again, I ate less than half and called it quits. Our bill came to ~$40 and it was probably worth less than half that. Another tidbit is that we had to ask twice for coffee refills. The place was not really busy either. Not sure why it gets 4+ stars because I struggle with giving it 2. I read someone else's review stating that the crust does not stay attached to the meat. I thought it might've been a one time thing... It wasn't.... The crust disconnects like a sock coming off a foot. Work on this. This is not right. The crust needs to be integrated into the meat. It's not supposed to be a sleeve fitting over the meat. It's not a jacket that the meat takes off once it sits down on the plate. And the meat is not tender. There's ligaments, veins, or whatever these little hard to cut stringy things holding the meat together are. There's too much trouble/shooting necessary on the CFS at Hondo's. Get the Cheeseburger instead.
