The tacos, the cup of corn and the fish and chips were out of this world. We may have been super hungry but both my husband and I agreed the food was delicious. Give this food truck a try.

    Delicious food!!

Right in the heart of Hill Country, Martini's manages to bring the best of coastal fine dining to Texas wine country. The vibe is upscale but relaxed, the cocktails are creative and perfectly crafted, and the seafood is as fresh as it gets. We're talking oysters, beautifully presented seafood towers, and dishes that absolutely deliver on every level. But what truly elevated our experience was our server, Hunter. From the moment we sat down, Hunter was attentive, warm, and genuinely knowledgeable about the menu. Not once did we have to flag anyone down -- Hunter was simply there, anticipating what we needed before we even asked. The recommendations were spot-on, the pacing of the meal was perfect, and Hunter's personality made the whole evening feel like we were being hosted by a friend rather than just served at a restaurant.

You should know, this is an intimate space with only eight 4 tops and a dozen seats at the bar and that's all. We got here on a Wednesday happy hour, and the place was almost full, so making a reservation might be in order. The happy hour food and drink specials is most likely the reason why the place was almost packed. The dinner menu takes the prices to the next level. We started off with a couple of $10 martinis and decided on four happy hour menu items. My shrimp Po boy came on a crunchy French baguette and the Seabass was cooked to perfection. No wonder this place was packed. At six on the dot a pianist took the stage and livened up the atmosphere. The happy hour crowd trickled out, and the dinner folks strolled in. We added their bruschetta as the final piece and it was really very fresh. Some notes of interest that others may have missed: 3% credit card fee, no wifi and there's mouthwash for you in the bathroom. Definitely a place to revisit. 10 informative photos to get you through the door.

Unfortunately, this experience felt less like a restaurant opening and more like a dress rehearsal no one stopped. First problem: location confusion. We went to what turned out to be their second spot--which, crucially, was not called Nurys on the sign. Same ownership, new space, old identity crisis. Walking in felt like entering a building that hadn't yet decided what it wanted to be when it grew up. The lingering aroma? A strange duet of fish, antiseptic, and industrial cleaning agents. Not hunger-inducing. More "urgent care with a fryer." There was no one there, which made sense--it was between brunch and lunch--but somehow the wait for food felt disproportionately long for what arrived. What arrived, sadly, was mediocrity wearing a Tex-Mex costume. They seemed to be aiming for Tex-Mex but landed somewhere closer to Tex-Flex--stretching flavors thin until they snapped. The barbacoa was fatty in a way that suggested less "slow-cooked tradition" and more "glistening regret." It didn't taste authentic, or even especially intentional. Just heavy. The guacamole--perhaps the most unforgivable offense--was bad. Guacamole is avocados, salt, lime, and love. That's it. This had none of the above. The waitstaff wasn't rude, exactly--just possessed by the clear energy of people who would prefer you to finish quickly so they could resume their real lives. Hospitality should feel like an invitation, not a countdown. Now, maybe the original Nurys is wonderful. I hope it is. But if that's the case, why open a second location only to phone it in? Expansion should mean excellence multiplied, not care divided. There are too many good places in Fredericksburg doing things right to settle for something half-hearted. This one wasn't terrible--it was worse. It was forgettable. And that's the real disappointment.

Right away, the service felt off. Our waitress didn't even ask if we wanted drinks before jumping straight to, "Are you ready to order food?" Then she disappeared for long periods, even though we were basically her only table besides one other couple. The food was extremely underwhelming -- basic, barely warm, and nothing memorable. On top of that, there were so many flies inside that we were nonstop swatting them away. And to make matters worse, there was a bug in my drink when it was served to me. That was pretty much the final straw. Overall, a very forgettable and disappointing experience. We probably won't come again, and I would not recommend it.

Overall, 1 of our favorite food stops on this trip! Our order consisted of 1 order of bang bang shrimp, 1 spinach & artichoke dip appetizer, a shared seared salmon dish (not pictured), 1 blackberry margarita (not pictured), & 1 blueberry mule (not pictured). For me, the best part of our order was the bang bang shrimp. If I get to go back I'll just order 2 of those & call it good! The spinach & artichoke appetizer was good, but offered a pretty standard flavor profile. The seared salmon was the best salmon dish I've tasted in a long time, paring nicely with the mashed potatoes & roasted veggies that came with it. Both cocktails were amazing, but my wife said the blackberry margarita was fantastic. The most negative thing about GH was extremely limited indoor seating availability & the lack of reservations, but now you've been warned. It was a short trip for us, but we will be back to GH on our next visit to Fredericksburg for sure.

They were pretty booked up but as it was cold outside they let us switch our reservation from patio to bar seating. We really enjoyed our meal. The waiters were very attentive and happy to talk through the menu with us. Ultimately we decided on a pretzel as our appetizer, with lamb chops as our entree to share and a side of kasespatzle. The pretzel was warm and a nice size and we thoroughly enjoyed the beer cheese. We finished the cheese halfway through the pretzel and the waiters were kind enough to bring us another one. Next for the kasespatzle - which from my understanding is the German version of mac and cheese. It was very tasty and hearty! More filling than I expected. The lamb chops were the crown jewel of the night - rich and succulent and paired so well with the asparagus. The chef was kind enough to make another lamb chop for us as she saw how the meat shrunk while cooking it. The meal was so tasty and a good size for sharing! We were very full by the end. I'm so glad we tried this place! It would be perfect for date night, a meeting with coworkers or family dinner. I like that they have an intimate inside area as well as the outdoor patio. It's great the way it is, and trying to make it fancy doesn't make it better. But I've always thought that if a restaurant has only a few options on its menu, they had better all be great, and I didn't find that to be the case at Otto's. One of us had the schnitzel au gratin, which seemed more to be like a chicken Parmesan. I had the duck schnitzel. I would say they were just both OK. The fried potatoes that came with the au gratin schnitzel were left largely untouched on my companion's plate. There wasn't much flavor to my red cabbage, and my spaetzel seemed to be more like a modern day risotto. And this at a restaurant that makes you leave your credit card for a reservation and threatens to charge if you cancel less than 24 hours before. For that, it had better knock my socks off. But my socks are still on, and they won't be walking back to Otto's. Extra star for the great location.

One thing that makes this restaurant unique is that there are actually cabins situated directly across from the restaurant that you can rent out and stay in known as the Cotton Gin Village. We were seated in one of the upstairs dining rooms with lots of wine on display. One draw about this place is their incredible selection of Texas wines. They also feature some Texas beers and great signature cocktails, even wine flights. We started with Ron YatesCabernet and a martini. They do offer several of the Texas wines by the glass, nothing from CA. There's only a choice of 10 entrées on the menu and 8 appetizers all of which are enticing. They do give you a sample of their carrot soup, but no complementary bread. I decided on the chicken fried ribeye and paired it with the Reddy cab. My wife had the grilled pork tenderloin medallions. The chicken fried ribeye was very tender with plenty of lobster chunks on top and no gristle whatsoever. The pork medallions were equally as delicious and the 3 cheese grits were a perfect pairing. We cleaned our plates and had no room for dessert. We enjoyed every bite and Kyle our waiter was exceptional as our server. We look forward to returning and trying something new off the menu. Perfect place for great food and well-made Texas wine. Informative photos and video included.

This was my wife's birthday and we reserved a table for 6:30 pm which worked out perfectly after a long day of wine tasting. The atmosphere was exactly as we had experienced last time, but this time we sat inside the restaurant instead of outside. It was pleasant, not noisy, and had a very nice semi-formal dinner vibe. Our server (Edie) was very gracious and friendly. She quickly sat us and filled water glasses, brought menus and let us know that there were no specials (my thought was "after all this was a Wednesday night ;0)") There was a very nice card at our table wishing my wife a happy birthday, and Edie brought us a complimentary small serving of a very delicious soup (Roasted Carrot & Ancho); nice touch! I ordered a Hill Country Martini, which was delicious (ice cold with jalapeno-stuffed olives). They do have a date night special offering on the menu, but that would have been too much for us. We decided to each order a salad (I had the Steak Knife Wedge and my wife had the Tejas Ranch Caesar). We wanted to split the 14-ounce ribeye as we had a fairly decent lunch during our wine tour. The salads were large and full of great stuff! The wedge was loaded with chunks of blue cheese and bacon over ice cold lettuce. My wife's Caesar was delicious, and the dressing was perfect. Our steak was cooked to perfection (medium-rare) and served with mixed grilled veggies that were amazing. The steak was perfectly flavored, with amazing char, and mated perfectly with my martini. For dessert, we were provided a free piece of delicious cheesecake (birthday celebration for my wife) and it was very, very good! Overall, this was a much better experience than we had in 2023 and we will most certainly be back for more! Ambiance - 10/10 Service - 10/10 Food - 10/10 Value - 10/10

The restaurant is located inside an old house along Main Street. The front room is 1/2 lounge area, 1/2 dining room, plus the bar area. There are two side dining rooms, the "green" room and the "red" room. Even the bathroom is cool! Great vibe and good music throughout the evening. Luckily, we got there early, and we're able to walk in without a reservation and sit at the bar. The restaurant was short-staffed, "staff on vacations" we were told, quite a few customers had difficulty enduring the service. They needed several other people there! Our bartender/waiter was Harper, and he did a fantastic job that evening, even though the place got really busy. The craft cocktail selection is extensive and very imaginative, many fun and exciting concoctions. We decided to start with The Navigator and a Banana Old Fashioned, both of which were delicious. The Navigator is a gin cocktail, with citrus and honey, a dash of grapefruit bitters and egg whites. Quite a tasty treat! The Banana Old Fashioned is a rum mixture, with some allspice, banana liqueur and walnut bitters. Delicious! We were also served a small amuse bouche of plantain soup that was a great first taste of things to come. After discussing the food menu with Harper, our food choices began with the duck spring rolls and the truffled burrata. The duck was perfectly prepared, and the spring rolls fried hot, not greasy at all. A side sweet and sour sauce on the side. The burrata ball was served well chilled, truffle pearls on top, drizzled with a nice balsamic reduction and served with thin garlic toast. Both dishes rate: amazing! Round two of cocktails included a Floating Petals, a vodka drink with very herbaceous notes, and the Volcano Ashes, a tequila/coconut/orange blend with black lava sea salt sprinkled on top. Both drinks were so good! We split the crispy chicken entree, a fried chicken breast atop risotto, covered with prosciutto and smoked gouda cheese. Delicious, but a bit salty for our taste. Almost every ingredient had a salt component, and the cumulative effect was the saltiness. For dessert we chose the Tierrita, a parfait glass filled with chocolate mousse and cookie crumbles... sweet and tasty, topped with a huge strawberry! A glass of local Texas Sangiovese accompanied the dessert and was a good pairing! So many other good things on the menu, we'd definitely go back to try more, cocktails and food! Recommend The Traveler Collections!

But they said we could go in the bar and wait and as we did a table opened up that we all fit on which was awesome! The bar area was just like you'd expect to see in Texas. Cowboy hats, wooden floors to dance on. The music they were playing was a mix of old school 90s and 2000s which I appreciated! We ordered our food which took about 50 min to come out! Thankfully we were all enjoying the vibe that it distracted us from how long we had to wait. Even for a 9 top on a Saturday night, almost an hour seems still too long. I asked if they could take the batter off my chicken fried steak but they told me no that's essentially a steak and I'd have to pay full price for a steak which was upwards of over $50. Which was silly to me. My stomach doesn't do well with a lot of fried but the mashed potatoes and homemade gravy for the fried steak and veggies that came with the chicken fried steak sounded good so I wanted that versus a regular steak. And after I ate it I instantly regretted it about 30 min later bc although it was yummy at the time, boy did it do a number on my tummy. Just heavy. So wish they'd made that accommodation for me instead of trying to nickel and dime me. But the live music and dancing that followed helped me take my mind off it (and the sweet bartender who gave me warm lemon water for my stomach). The band was awesome and they played top 40 hits. The crowd was friendly and had a great night singing and dancing celebrating my sweet friends birthday. Such a great atmosphere and would love to bring people there and do it again. Maybe next time, I'll just order chicken ;)

The bacon wrapped shrimp was also very charred and steak was very very salty. It was however cooked to order. If you like a lot of salt then you may like it. The risoto and broccolini were good. Hubbys rib eye was rare (mooing) just like he likes it. He enjoyed the seasonal vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes. Desert is made to order so it took about 30 minutes after order to get it. But it was worth it! The wild blueberry pie was the best part of the meal. It was a large handpie stuffed with these flavorful wild blueberries and ice cream on the side. We were full but managed to eat the whole thing! 8'oclock is when the music starts in the saloon. If you want a nice quiet romantic dinner then definitely go before 8. The music was very loud.
