As previous reviewers have mentioned, they promise $50 credits per month for three months and then lie and say they never sent such an email. In my case, they then admitted they sent the email but say it doesn't say that, then admit it says that but that customers misunderstood instead of admitting they lied. I will be reaching out to other reviewers to initiate a class action lawsuit. *As an update, you can see below they always ask for your account and social security number, which is what I sent via email and then they stopped responding. Also, there's no need to ask for this information here on Yelp if you're stating you all of a sudden won't give the credits anymore anyway. Tl;dr. Two days I'll never get back. NV energy threatened to shut off power at a house w a BABY in the middle of summer, w an acct always paid on time and in good standing. So i come home to this notice on my door "URGENT, please contact NV energy concerning this account to avoid disconnect in 48 hrs." The reason they checked off was " need lease and ID of all adult occupants". We have an infant here. We need the AC and fridge for his breastmilk. Our acct is up to date, never paid late and in good standing. We called the number and after being on hold for almost an hour and the rep couldn't tell us why the lease was needed, tried transferring us to a supervisor, which they couldn't get a hold of. We elected to have them call us back and after waiting an hour and no call, called them back and told them again to have a supervisor call. After three hours, they finally call my husband back and still doesn't say a reason why this is needed. Since it was after hours, i went to the notary the next day. Emailed all the docs and contacted them via FB chat just in case. Finally got a person on chat but now said my IDs needed to be notorized as well. No where does it say that on the threat I received on my front door, only notorized lease. Finally i was able to find out that there was fraud suspected at this address and they are trying to find out who is really living at the house. There is a woman named Shannon Miller who had been getting collections letters and car loan rejection letters here at our house for months. I bet you this bitch is who fucked up my last two days. Finally my landlord called me and said NV energy called her and she straightened everything out. Shannon Miller was never a tenant of hers btw. And the person on chat thanked me for my prompt response and apologized for any inconvenience. *Rolleyes!! 48 hrs really is not enough time to take care of something like this! What if i was working these last two days? My husband works full time. He was about to leave work early so he could come home to help take care of this. Notaries aren't available after hours unless you want to pay them extra. And if i hadn't been proactive and contacted them in FB? Who knows how long they would have taken to get back to me. The directions weren't clear on what needed to be notorized. Reps were hard to get a hold of. No one knew anything. And when we finally did get a supervisor they treated us as if we were the ones committing the fraud! I wish there was another power company in town! I left a review a few days ago, was contacted by the lovely DaShaunae, so I deleted it, but today I AGAIN received a "threatening email that my service will be cut off if I don't pay my bill" which isn't due yet but is ALREADY PAID. The Left hand doesn't know what the RIGHT hand is doing. It's really frustrating to continue over and over again to make sure my bill is paid. Perhaps NV Energy needs new higher up management that can actually run NV Energy without harassing their paying customers. Maybe DaShaunae should be in May and management should do HER job. NV Energy has the worst customer service I have experienced in any company to date. On July 31st I sent an bill pay payment and accidently added an additional digit on the end of the dollar amount. Instead of $263.00 I sent them $2630.00. I have spent the last month trying to get a refund from NV Energy and they keep telling me (from different agents) it takes 30 or 35 days to issue the refund. When I followed up on the refund, I was told the request was made on a standard form and not on a "rush" form. I know this is my mistake but they made a mistake and told me the issued would be corrected on August 18th. My level of frustration is through the roof! read more

No power for 5 1/2 hours when they sent a text that it is restored when it is not. Their map doesn't show my location as having an outage. So do they just fudge data to look good? I bought $300 worth of groceries 3 days ago and now all the fridge stuff has to be tossed. Sent texts, emails and made a phone call. On top of that, a few months ago they replaced a concrete lid in my backyard for utility access and the lid was too small. I fell in doing yard work and my leg, ankle and foot hurt for a week. I sent an email and they replaced the lid but never a phone call or apology. 8 hours later and they send out multiple trucks and people who are standing next to my backyard just shooting the breeze, laughing, talking about grandkids while I'm still without power. Apparently these dickheads had to shut my power off a day ahead of time to just change the name on the account. The new rate increase apparently will increase your bill by 60%. I was out of town for 10 days last month (first month of the new rate increase) and kept my AC on average 6 degrees higher than had I been home for those 10 days. My AC use is consistent like clock work so to look at my bill and see the month I was out of town for 10 days my bill was 60% higher than the previous month. Yet the temperature outside was a difference of 5 degrees on average for the month. When calling to ask if there was possibly a mistake or an overcharge on their part with the new rate, I then received a lecture on how electricity works. like I haven't paid an electric bill for the last 20 yrs of my life. Never have I seen an increase like this before and I've only lived in warm weather states. Florida, Arizona and now Nevada. Not once have I seen an increase in my bill like this. Especially when I wasn't even home for a third of the month. She refused to listen and instead questioned why I would be surprised to see this dramatic increase in my bill. If you're going to rip people off and overcharge them l, at least have good customer service. I guess when you have a monopoly over the electricity use in an area, training people becomes less of a priority. With all the complaints I see on this site I'm guessing only legal action will wake this company up. read more

Try to pay up the last years overage and customer support doesn't do it and just make notes. Spend hours on hold to get to someone all for nothing to get completed. NV Energy has the BEST customer service of any business I've ever dealt with. They are so courteous on the phone and go above and beyond to help and to solve problems. During stressful times like moving I so appreciate the fact that someone wants to help! I changed/extended my move-out date last minute and forgot about rescheduling my power shut off date. My power went out this morning as I had originally requested. Panicked, thinking I would have 3 days with no power while packing to move, I called, someone answered within a minute and politely told me "no problem, we will have your power reconnected within 20 minutes". It was barely 5 minutes later and my power was back on!!!! I'm blown away at how easy this was and how quickly it was done. The only reason I am giving this 2 stars is because the Phone Representative was polite. NV Energy could care less about their customers. They dumped a $200 deposit onto my bill because they said I was late more than 3 times in 12 months. We're talking about 1-2 days late and nothing more. She then said she could waive the deposit, but then came back and changed her mind stating they had waived a prior deposit BACK IN 2014! They only allow a "one time waiver" for the life of the customer. Seriously? From 8-1/2 years ago?? I want the people of Nevada to know that NVE is scamming people and therefore it must be some major fraud going on there and they have been getting away with this for years. I think they are using low income people to receive money from the government through different agencies that assists low income individuals with their energy bills. They have pulled the same scam on me since 2010, everytime I move or transferred to a different address, they will wait a few months and send you a high bill, usually $900+. I have received three $1000 bills for the same address, different amounts. Now the same supervisor Susan who I just happened to get every time I call but refused to really look into my account. I cau them red handed again, she's now claiming she doesn't see the last payments. The payments came from energy assistance so it's a record. People check your accounts someo is definitely doing some scamming over there and I have filed several complaints with every agency I can think of. Eventually there's going to be a class action lawsuit because I have spoken to many people who have had the same problem. Request copies now because they are changing the date, address and payments are disappearing. We're new to Las Vegas and disappointed to find how NVEnergy handles situations. Last night we had a complete power outage at 11:30pm. It appeared to be only our unit and all breakers are reset and fine. I made an online outage report listing my cell as a call back number when power was restored and even got an estimated restore time of 1:00am. At 1am I checked my request to find that there was no longer anything listed and I made another report, and another and another. I was also calling getting stuck in the loop of the automated system never being able to speak to real person. At 3:00am with no calls and still no power I call yet again and just start hitting zero and I now get a person who informs me she can see all my NINE different reports and that NVEnergy has canceled every one of them. "We don't report to single unit outages"...she says. Uhm, ok but why wouldn't you call me and tell me that using my call back number I've been listing?? How does NVEnergy just cancel repeat request for help and never tell anyone? I'm disappointed in the lack of communication. read more

I signed up for one of their COVID payment plan programs. My lease ended in August and I turned off my power. Customer service says I now have to pay my ledger balance of $400+ (because I was paying a fixed payment ) in FULL in 30 days or it goes to collections. WOW I though this program was to help people. I have been struggling to pay all bills on time and protect my credit and this program is screwing me over. Thanks NV energy after paying you on time for 10+ years you are going to ruin my credit. NV energy has made the process of moving (already a stressful situation) even worse. I tried to register for services online, and they stated that I needed to call a representative. Not a huge deal, but unusual since I'm moving to an apartment complex, and they require me to have services turned before the move in date. Their call service system is very blatantly designed for 'efficiency'- you can tell because of their automation, and the offer to 'call you back'.. Their wait times suggested that I would have someone in '30 minutes or more' call me back. I waited several hours for a call. I've decided to give them a call and stay on their call line instead. Why don't they have enough people to call back quickly and efficiently? It also appears that other reviews hammer them on their terrible service in neighborhoods, and their service providers are rude. That belies a lack of training, a high stress work environment, and a poor work culture. It seems apparent NV energy is concerned with efficiency, not people, and making as much money as possible, not utilizing any ethical business model. I've tried to call NV energy multiple times only to be put on hold for at least an hour each time and then a recording comes on telling me that they are experiencing extremely high call volume and the call disconnects. I've tried to go online and look at my account for three days straight and none of the links work at all...I cannot even login. Well, I guess Nevada Energy should change their name to just "Nevada Electric" as they seem to not give a damn about their natural gas customers. I am having some kind of issue with my gas usage-after nearly 4 years in our new house with no changes, the usage has jumped 4 fold in the past 2 months. I called into Nevada Electric's help line and might as well have been calling the local butcher for all the help I received. The rep was clueless and only wanted to talk about their electric program-just left me out here in the wasteland without a lifeline. Not much help when my issue is natural gas. You'd never know they actually supplied the product the way they act. All this nonsense about how they want to save you money on electric/do a survey on electric usage/get a smart thermostat apparently doesn't migrate over to the natural gas side of things. I eventually called my private HVAC technician and they are going to come out and troubleshoot my system. Good job Nevada Electric read more
