Let me just start off that this place deserves better reviews than what it has now. I stopped in on my lunch. I saw the reviews so I was skeptical once I got there the owner was very nice. He even open the door for me as he was at the front entrance. I ordered the Brooklyn Sandwich and it was phenomenal. I wish I could eat the whole thing. It's so big. The portion is huge! I didn't believe the reviews and took a chance. I am working late today and craving a sandwich. Needed a quick door dash delivery. I'm a little disappointed. I ordered the cheesesteak and Brooklyn. Both sandwiches look big from the outside, but it was mostly bread. I was expecting meat and cheese to ooze out from the Cheesesteak and get a juicy bite from the Brooklyn. My cravings were not satisfied, but delivery was fast and the sandwiches were still hot. Will stick to my regular sandwich spots. read more

I'm from New York, born and raised. This is not a chopped cheese, there's barely any cheese. Why the hell is it spicy asf? I give them one star for actually remembering the peppers. Add some more cheese and make the peppers bigger. Cut out that spicy mayo? (Idk what's spicy in there) but it's not in the original sandwich. They're hella small too. So I had my order delivered and can not comment on how sanitary it is. But based off quality I will never order again. Ikes, food basket and supermarket sandwiches are far better. The burger seems so basic made with frozen patty. I'd even put subway sandwiches above this. Specialty sandwiches at $13.99 have very little meat and have process cheese, on par with the premade sandwiches you'd find in the refrigerator at 7/11 or Am/Pm. Message to the owner, you better step that quality up or you won't last. Don't lower prices improve quality. At that price you need to be cooking quality cuts of meat in house and using premium cold cuts of meat and cheese like Boars head. We went in for lunch. We got a NY Reuben, and NY cheesesteak. The sandwiches were a good portion, and very meat heavy, and the meat is good quality, if you like lots of meat on your sandwich you'll definitely love it here. I would have liked more kraut and sauce on the Reuben, it was a little dry, and was expecting a little more since Reubens are usually messy sandwiches. Husband said that maybe cheese or cheese sauce on the cheesesteak would have been nice. Or maybe a side of sauce to pour on the top?? The people who served us were kind and efficient and gave us free baklava. Like I said, good people, filling food, but the ratios might need a little dialing in, since the business is new. I did a create your own sandwich. I will say it that the place was speedy in making my sandwich. It was good I didn't get to take a picture of it! Sorry maybe next time! It also was my first time there. The sandwiches are a little pricey but most places are and other places take a long time to make your stuff. These people didn't. I wasn't waiting longer than 10 minutes. I will definitely go back tomorrow and eat another sandwich . I like how they actually put salt and pepper on their sandwiches and I can taste it. The fries just the right salty, Golden ridges, and soft potato...Dipped in ranch or barbecue sauce or the NY sauce for a little kick. Don't forget dessert...a dollar for two macaroons!!! I always go twice before reviewing. Once again the food was not very good; it's mediocre at best. On top of that, customer service is horrible. When a customer walks in at least greet them, it's a rather simple concept. Their fries are underdone and I asked for burger without cheese but it had a nice slice of processed cheese. So I saw there was a new deli in Vallejo and couldn't wait to try them out. I had to navigate the parking lot as there was a drug deal happening; preventing me from getting into the lot. Just in front of the establishment was a group of men shooting dice and smoking weed, to which I thought 'this food better be amazing' Once I made my way inside I saw that the deli was clean and with the exception of a buckle in the floor, the restaurant looked cleaned. We ordered a chicken shawarma wrap and a burger. When I opened the wrap I discovered a pool of grease on the shawarma. I took one bite into this flavorless atrocity and instantly regretted it. My wife mentioned the hamburger was just ok; unseasoned and not worth risking being robbed. Let me be clear I grew up in Gary, IN and there are some restaurants throughout the Midwest that are so good you risk being assaulted to get good food, this is not that place. I suggest good seasoning, less grease, marinating the meat to add flavor and limiting the menu until you're able to do a few items really well. Until then don't waste your money. read more

Just heard about this spot in my neck of the woods and had to try it. I got the Reuben and it was so good. The rye bread was so tasty and the sauerkraut was amazing and it came with a ton of pastrami. I haven't had a Reuben this good in ages. My wife got the blt and it was so big had to save for a second meal. Our order kinda got messed up so had to wait a while but the owner was so nice and gave us baklava on the house and the baklava was really good and minty. We will definitely be coming back. First, the best part was the two young ladies working the counter. They were professional and cordial. The food was very underwhelming. The interior, does not look like anything in the pictures from previous reviews. The deli case is janky. It looks like the storage spot, no pre-made salads, nothing. No menu more monitors, those are replaced with a single paper menu taped on a glass. COVID or not, looked like a storage room. Just get rid of the chairs, fill up the empty refrigerators with all the warm beverages sitting on the counters. It looks tacky. There are many deli/sandwich shops that are able to have no seating but still allow customers to self serve. Get rid of all the paper hiding the back side of the counter. People want to see how their food is being prepared and the sanitary conditions. Maybe not buy whole pre-sliced desserts, no one will ever buy them again if they get a slice and it's stale. There's so much potential here, but it's ran like it's owned by the people who own the liquor store next door. What I mean is, the "manager" stands around on his cell phone in the corner watching everyone, instead engaging w customers and answering their questions about food. He lets the new staff struggle through and walk out to go next door? We were told our order would take 15 minutes, instead, the man who came in and ordered after us was served first and 30 minutes later, our order came out. Tots had fries mixed in, they were under cooked and under seasoned, the bread was stale, the baclava was stale. Everything could've been 100, if they didn't skimp on literally everything. If you've never run a food establishment, hire someone who has AND listen to them. You can't run a deli like a liquor store. The standards are too exacting. If you want to do business in Vallejo AND thrive, you have to stop treating Vallejo like "it doesn't matter the quality because it's only Vallejo" because all it does is force us to cater to chains and out of town independent shops. Use salt, invest in training your staff, cooking classes, business management training, Serv-safe, and comp shop. Go see how the successful independent shops are flinging here in Vallejo. Until then, we will not be returning. Then again, at this rate, it won't be here much longer. read more

I was really excited to try this deli but unfortunately it wasn't what I was expecting. A marbled rye Reuben is one of my favorite sandwiches ever! I thoroughly was enjoying the sandwich until I found a strange bone in it that was way too tiny to belong to a cow. Gross. The chicken shawarma wrap was spicy and tasty but had way too much sauce and was very messy.. Fish and chips was a major disappointment. It was like bad oil laden frozen fish. Super fishy and it was placed on top of the french fries which made them super oily and fishy and completely inedible. Onion rings were delicious! They were the best thing from our order. Unfortunately, for $67 this just wasnt what I was expecting for the price and we wont be returning. I understand Covid has made it difficult for restaurants. I would rather a restaurant cut its menu down to a very limited menu and make great food vs providing lots of items with unsatisfactory taste. Dont serve crap if you want people to return. We have limited money during this pandemic too and when we try to support local businesses during our special meals out and get crap food, its frustrating for us too. read more

Staff was not following proper safety guidelines, masks were worn below nose, our cashier went from taking our order and money to handling our food, no hair nets or anything. We ordered 2 sandwiches chicken basket, chili cheese fries, onion rings. Each of our sandwiches had 3 extra thin and dry slices of meat. Our onion rings weren't crispy they were soggy and did not hold its shape, chicken tenders mainly batter. They also charged me for a drink I didn't order. We tried the NY Deli & Grill for the first time upon arriving at the location it's a very older neighborhood kinda ghetto neighborhood and not very visually pleasing.
