I tried a few different kinds of pizza and they were all okay. A few people had told me that they made "incredible" pizzas, but I didn't really think so...I'd say they were pretty good pizzas. What I liked were the fresh tasting vegetables which topped some of the pizzas. The cheese was a bit disappointing, especially since I don't think you can really go wrong with cheese...it just lacked flavor. Just experienced the worst encounter ever. Not only did it take over 55 minutes to receive a cheese pizza and Caesar salad but when I asked the cashier to check on our pie she told me it was there and she was going to box it up. After our server ended up about 5 minutes later with our actual pizza. Not sure how people that came in AFTER us were able to get their food and eat in the time that I spent waiting, but it happened. The Price is Right. I walked up to the order window met a cool dude ordered and sat at the bar. I asked for two large slices of everything on it. $5.25. These slices are full blown, made to order, hot and delicious. Decent New York 'style' pizza but not all that close to the pizza made in the Parlors of Manhattan but we are in Phoenix right? Ordered a Four Peaks 8th Street brew. $4.25. Poured from a bottle into a cold clean glass. Light bodied as expected. Hops are floral and bitterness is restrained. The pizza, calzones and Sicilian pies are delicious. Aside from one other pizza place, NYPD has the best pizza in AZ and definitely the best in the Camelback Corridor/Biltmore area. We have never had an issue with pickup or delivery except for that they forgot a cheesecake when we did a pickup, and the forgot to bring it when we ordered delivery twice in a row. However they got it right the third time and gave use a second free desert. If you want the best NY Pizza in the area this is the place. read more

This used to be my favorite joint for pizza night. We always loved the food and especially the wings. However, we always get delivery and the quality of delivery orders has gone WAY downhill in the last few months. On 11/12/22, our pizza never arrived at our home and we had to eat popcorn for dinner. On 12/27/22, they forgot the wings and the garlic knots, so all we had was pizza to eat. Tonight, 2/9/23, our pizza never showed up, and we caught them in a lie, at one point when we called, they said the delivery driver was "walking out the door" and when we called 30 minutes later, they said the same thing. Thank god we had leftovers at my home or else we wouldn't have had anything else to eat as we are in a kitchen renovation. We will not order delivery from here again. This place has the best customer service we've ever encountered at a pizza place. Came in for lunch and went to pay, but the credit card reader wasn't working. The gentleman working the register apologized for the inconvenience and told us our lunch was on him, and to pay it forward-so kind! The pizza itself tasted AMAZING. I had the Al Capone Calzone and Wings. The food was barely OK... especially for the prices they charge. The calzone had... plenty of cheese and little else. Now I love cheese and this was way too much cheese for me. The wings for 'market price' sadly lacking in every way. 8 of the 12 wings had shattered bones creating shards of chicken bone - not fun to eat. I haven't tried the pizza, but will give it a shot. They claim their secret is the special filtered water. I made fun of this initially, but they might actually have something. NYPD's pizza is crisp and refreshing, a phrase which I've never used to describe pizza before. Isn't this type of food supposed to weigh you down and make you swear you'll start your diet tomorrow? The beer selection is great, with several local choices. A small pizza can easily feed two people, maybe three if you're looking for a light meal. We got Da Works, which is their version of a supreme, but looking over the remaining scraps of the tables around us, other pizza styles were just as enjoyable. Other Yelpers have complained about the service, but it was spectacular in my opinion. Maybe they've made some changes recently. The vast majority of the waiters looked like firefighters (okay, that's probably the uniform, probably supposed to look like the police, plus the fact that Arizona people look slightly different from the Miamians I'm used to), and they were super friendly and on top of things despite the increasing number of customers. The host was obviously gunning to be a waiter, and I have no doubt he'll make it soon - great personality and motived to boot. Wish I had caught his name. If you're craving some good, hearty, NY pizza, NYPD is the place to go. I say hearty because it's a bit thicker than the typical NY pizza with a thicker layer of toppings but it's not as thick as a normal pizza either. It was perfect for me. We got "Da Works", which is basically a combo pizza but it's very rich in flavor with fresh ingredients. We also got the "Kahuna", which is their Hawaiian and that was amazing as well. Don't forget to order some Garlic bread and wings as well as beer and wine! The atmosphere is very chill and New York like. Service was excellent and I am definitely going back. read more

Ordered through Postmates 1/7/20. Ordered a Salad, Lasagna and wings. Three items not overly complicated. Wings did not arrive. I immediately contacted postmates which gave me $3 back mind you the wings were $13. So the store gets to pocket the $10 for wings that never arrived. I then called the store as normally when items are missing they offer you to come in and pick up the missing item on them. Granted they closed in 13 min or so but they could have offered to have me pick up the wings tomorrow. Instead I spoke to the manager and she said I'd have to take it up with Postmates (because they boxed up the order / sarcasm). She didn't offer an apology for the items being missing until AFTER she heard my girlfriend in the background say "Damn, they aren't even sorry". The manager then said postmates would give a refund. But postmates is notorious for not giving you the full amount back for missing items and taking the "oops they just have your money now" approach. After she said call postmates I hung up because its up to the restaurant to check all items. In fact that should be top priority for all deliveries other wise people are just paying for items to never arrive. As a restaurant it is up to you to ensure every item is ready for delivery. So I just ordered a pizza from NYPD on 20th Street and Camelback and it was the worst phone experience I've ever had. The girl who answered the phone had no sense of urgency at all. She kept putting the phone down and I heard her helping other customers instead of tending to me. The delivery location is literally point two miles away from the store on Camelback, the same street that the store is on, and yet I still have to give the address. I used to deliver to the store all the time and I never needed a physical address. And then the manager gets on the phone and acted all nonchalant and like she didn't care at all. Sorry guys no pics.....only because we were super rushed to get in and get out to get to the my daughters GCU graduation ceremony. As typical at this location we came in before it got busy and it was 5pm on a Thursday so not bad. We stuck with a simple order today to make it fast / 1 lagunitas IPA (since it was happy hour) and a few sodas with the Large Da Works (super tasty and fresh toppings) with a medium cheese pie for the kids. Service was super quick even though they said to make it extra crispy it would be 20min. Although they brought it out quick it still lacked that crispy u der crust but to be honest it was still very tasty. Ambiance is always a little dark and has that "old style pizza joint" feel but that is the consistent theme at NYPD all over the valley so we knew what to expect. I stopped in to get my free birthday pizza to-go and I realized that I should've called my order in, because they were pretty busy. I have to share my experience because I have thought about it since Friday night.. I placed a pick up order- large create your own pizza. Got there, staff was nice, not over the top- which I prefer! Then it happened.. the young man helping me found my pizza on the hot shelf and proceeded to stand on his tip toes while opening the box. What happened next was funny but honestly so horrific with the current environment (COVID)... he put his whole face in the box only inches from the pizza I was taking home to eat- he looked at it for 30 seconds just hovering and breathing on the pizza. I understand what he was trying to do- but there has to be a better way. He handed me the pizza and I had the worst look on my face because I simply could not help it.. I took the pizza home and was too afraid to eat it because seeing someone breathing that close to the pizza grossed me out. It's looked fine and smelled good but I tossed it! So just be advised that this is probably something that will happen if you go. Could be one of those things that only bothers me but I just could NOT deal with that. read more
