Employees are usually kind and helpful which makes the experience much better. Waiting time can be long depending on days but mostly in the evenings so be prepared to wait. Came here on a Saturday, mid day, with a group of friends. It was my first time here in a while, maybe at least 10 years, so wasn't sure if the process was still the same. Went through the front door, talked to the nice lady that checked us in and told us to pay later when we were done. Play is per hour, so we had to keep track of the time ourselves. I've been to other pool halls where they actually tell you an end time or there is a timer at the table. So I was feeling kind of uneasy thinking they may rip us off, but I digress. So she gave us the billiard ball set and we made our way to our assigned tables conveniently numbered. Overall the table was in pretty great shape. It's clean and the surrounding players were respectful and some groups enjoying alcohol were keeping to themselves and not too rowdy where it impacts any neighboring tables. So after keeping track, that we had played for an hour, we took our billiard balls back to the front desk, she charged us for an hour. Overall a great experience. read more

Fun thing to do with your friends on a night out. The table is only $16 an hour and you're able to order drinks and request songs. They have an app and it's only $5 to request 5 songs. Been shooting pool here for a few years. The tables are okay, but the service has gotten much worse and now a 1/5.... obnoxious, arrogant, and uptight..... like it's San Diego lol. They used to be friendlier. I came with some childhood friends (one is a very lowkey hustler in Vegas now). One of the best billiards spots I have been to in San Diego. Came in on a Friday night and was told it was a 30 minute wait but the cashier told us our table was ready after 5 minutes which is great. It's $16 an hour and there's a jukebox inside where you can request songs to play for some money. They sell alcohol inside as well but nothing is on tap, just bottles. They are located in convoy which is known to have difficulty finding parking especially on the late night weekends. The tables were in great condition and there are many cue sticks to choose from. The space between tables is lengthy as well and poses no problems. If you're looking to play anywhere in SD come to this place. read more

After coming from Skateworld, these Teens were still not tired and wanted to hang out together still. So we found this place in CONVOY called " O BILLIARD CAFE ". My husband and I were okay with their plan to have fun more for the day since they are in School Thanks Giving Break already. This place is very Cool, it has 14 Billiards tables. And it's open until 1 a.m SUNDAY to MONDAY and until 2 a.m FRIDAY and SATURDAY, and the best part under 18 years Old are allowed anytime! And to play is $15 per table per hour. Love coming here to play pool. Super chill vibes and the tables are super well maintained. I am by no means any type of pool expert but the ambiance is great and if you want to play your own song there's a jukebox and it's just really nice all around. Super easy to get a table, just walk up and ask for one and they'll either tell you to wait if it's busy or which table to go to. Will keep coming here as long as I'm in the SD area. My one small nitpick is probably to turn the speakers down a little bit, there are times when the music will peak and then the speakers will crackle a bit and that kind of destroys the speakers and I end up fearing for their longevity. Back again and again perfect tables with basically brand new perfect tournament felt. Customer service is amazing, crowd is super respectful, and no wait.. played on a perfect rasson table... they've got great rassons and diamonds with tons of space between tables so no issues. Good beer selection. I drank and played pool for 4 hours and, after tip, walked out only paying $60 on a Saturday night.. $60!!! Amazing. I absolutely love this place and it might be my favorite pool hall.. definitely top 5. The best spots in Vegas, Phoenix and SLC are comparable but nothing in SoCal that beats it. My husband & I stopped off here, it used to be a place he frequented. The place was absolutely booming! All the tables were taken, drinks are available for purchase, & it's incredibly well lit. We were seen to immediately at the front. Super chill place to hang out. You just walk in and grab a table and start playing and you pay at the end. I like how everyone here minds their own business. So even if I'm not the greatest at playing pool, who cares, because everyone is in their own little world!! There is a juke box so you can pay to select the music you want to listen to, or have others pay and listen to music that others want to listen to haha. Its $14 an hour to play, and to be honest I usually only end up playing 1 hr anyways. Its nice that they have the 20% off with a Yelp check in so you can play for cheaper than that. Poor service. Had an outside beverage with me for the entire time i was in the place. matter of fact the man that had poor service, walked passed me and this beverage probably 5-6 times to use the bathroom. When my drink was down to literally less that nothing, he asked i "take it outside and finish it". Word for word thats what he says. zero mention of a fee for throwing it away. the drink being empty pretty much i put the last sip in my mouth and walked it over to the trashcan. i had been there for 3 hours at this point. he then came back and says "i have to charge you a fee for chugging it and throwing it in the recycle bin". i find this extremely unfair and poorly managed. From a management point of view if you are going to request an action from me,you better layout your consequences for it too. rather than make a statement of just finish it outside, almost like it wasnt a big deal but dont do it again. i would have zero problem if this employee said "take the drink outside or ill have to charge a fee" no he just charged the fee. Piss Poor if you ask me. Loss to you, we shoot pool several times a week there, this the first time anything has ever been said about my outside drinks and we would be there 4+ plus, 10/10 shitty service if you ask me! read more

A gentleman informed us pockets were narrow on a particular table etc. We came here on a Saturday afternoon and 6 tables were occupied. I think this is a cool place to come to work on your game. They had lots of them as well as seven footers and a carom table. The house cues were in great shape as were the balls. I don't leave a lot of reviews, unless someplace is extraordinary. And, so all I can say is: This is best summed up as: a POOL PLAYERS' HEAVEN. Spotless tables... Spotless, cleaned balls... Best affordable prices. Little, to no wait. Do not tell anyone else about this gem! I have repeatedly played at this hall, about 4 times now... so, my review here... is after repeated observations, and true to what you can expect: I've tried a number of Yelps top billiard halls in Southern California when travel takes me south from Los Angeles down the Coast to Carlsbad, and San Diego, and this is definitely the cleanest, and best-run billiard hall, I have played at in this state. Being new to the area, I can only say that if you are a pool player that wants to shoot or practice... this is as close to a prized table... home Billiard room feel, as you will find anywhere. It may seem off the beaten path... as I am not familiar with all of San Diego... but being highly dissatisfied 95 percent of the time in the state.... this one is worth any drive. There is really no comparison... that I have found in Southern Cal... yet. They have nine 9 ft tables; 3 are Diamond Tables. The remaining are Excellent Asian made, Gold Crown copies... which play quite well. 7 ft tables. One Snooker table. The tables are kept with great nap/felt, and I noticed the rails were spotless: no sloppy, white-powdered handprints... like some chalkboard at El Chapo's year-end, shareholders' meeting... Cleanest I have ever played at... in a pool hall. These guys excel, and run a smooth operation! The tables are NOT coin-operated... you get a nice clean tray with nice clean new... or as newish master chalk I do. They know that cleanliness starts from the top down... which means you will get a tray with clean shiny balls, like they were hand polished and ready for a televised tournement. But most of all, these guys, are set above all others by the details. They keep the tables up, like a home set-up billiard room. It may be me... but I was blown away with this. Seems rare to me... but that is how I would run if I had a pool hall. They clean and care for their tables and it all shows. Yes, like any pool hall, there will be chalk on your hands after playing, but for the most part... the difference is in the little details that make this place stand out. Everything is simply; kept up! I have been here in prime-time weekend hours, as well are Sunday afternoons, and rarely had to wait for a table, at all. You will see players practicing, or... if you display a pretty good game, you may be invited to play with one of the regulars... on the 9 footer like I did. We played for love of the game... no obligatory gambling... just a clean game. Nice, unassuming guys. You may notice one shooting with a Carmeli... or a Tad... but the ones i met were grounded, good amateur players. THE RATES are about 8$ to 10$ an hr. if I recall... which is phenomenal... less than most bars... and is based, less on the time of day... and pegged... more on a single player, or two. And, if you choose to playing on one of their Diamond tables. Most fair. There is league play on some days... but I found... not on the typical Mon. and Tues nights... that I run into everywhere... YMMV. I only saw APA league players on the 7 ft ers; playing both 9, as well as 8 ball... on the 4 Diamond tables. But they were playing on a weekend afternoon. Only prob . I can find with the place... is that half the time you may call... and not reach anyone... management is limited to one of two guys.... you may get an answering machine. Their hours are listed online. Anything else u need to know is YMMV. NEWSFLASH************ HERE IS THE BEST DEAL IN CALIF... THAT I HOPE only the serious players... in limited capacity... read. I am afraid to tell you... but, I eventually found out talking to a local... that M-FRI... like 11am to 6pm, you can play all you want FOR $12... during that time!!!!!! They may change it... at discretion ... for example, if they get busy.... they may pair w another player, if you as a single player... in order to enable reg. "paying customers" can get a table... but this deal is off hours... and all I can say is WOW. What a deal!!! Food, in the same, same-strip mall with parking area is REALLY extraordinary .... at Common Theory... where they have a large space, and bar, great vibe and INCREDIBLE TRI-TIP sandwich, I had about $15.
