The food today at O'Brien's pub was pretty good. When you order a Coke, you get it yourself at the self serve soda area there's cups there to go boxes and everything so now you know. Don't ask the bartender because well you can figure it out The ambience here is Irish pub ambience get a Pepsi and enjoy

    Apps and soups and sides.

Come on down and try the best triple IPA, which is only here once a year. O'Briens gets more than anyone else in San Diego county.

Great way to enjoy Pliny the Younger release! Amazing staff, great atmosphere, lots of super friendly beer lovers. Cheers!!!

Love coming to this local spot because we can watch MLS here!!! they've got such a welcoming vibe for anyone looking for a drink, some food and the game-whichever that may be. Their fried pickles ain't too bad either. They're very generous with the portions on their sandwiches, so bring an appetite! Also-great service!!

Food is very good . Service was good . Late in the afternoon it gets busy. Ambience loud music and talk. Cute pub though. I liked it.

USA Today, the newspaper of airport lounge warriors from the 2010's, knows their demographic well...the well traveled consultant looking the right selection of IPA forward pints needing an American burger cooked to the discerning standard of any Marriott, Westin, Sheraton or even Bar One SD. A classic beer pub nestled in a plaza with many authentic options - Asian, Korean and Mexican, this spot does not disappoint. Pliny the Elder is on tap here too.

It's rated as *the* best pubs in the country by USA Today. As in like #1. That may be overstating it a bit, but I did have a wonderful experience and it was delightful. But it's a pub in busy little strip mall. The staff is excellent and the beer choices were solid. Good variety of light and dark. All around solid spot and would come back!

This place is great for trying new beers and eating great food. It was Russian River- Tion Weekend and we tried a flight of different beers and some fish and chips. The service was great and fast. The best part was the ambiance was chill and felt like a local bar where everyone knows each other.

First time here, and it was not clear if we were to order at counter, or had a table server. Seated ourselves, since there was no one around, and went to counter after some time passed to ask if we place order at counter or not. Turns out, someone will come come to us. It took about 3 minutes, which wasn't bad and quite attentive after that. Smoking is allowed on outside patio. Definitely a sports bar. FYI. Food was great. Had the patty melt and it was piping hot for quite some time after receiving. Fries had some kind of weird taste, but hubby couldn't tell. Need to check out at the counter. We would come back for the beer at least. Great selection, something for everyone.

For a bar, that's not always a given, and as someone who doesn't drink as much these days, that immediately stood out to me. I grabbed a lavender leprechaun and it was super refreshing, light, and just a really nice change of pace from the usual soda-or-water options. It didn't feel like an afterthought, it actually felt intentional. For food, I went with the corned beef sandwich and it did not disappoint. Hearty, flavorful, and exactly what you'd want from a proper Irish pub. The whole place has that classic pub vibe but still feels welcoming whether you're drinking or not. That balance is rare, and I really appreciated it. Definitely a spot I'd come back to, especially knowing I've got solid non-alcoholic options to enjoy.

I ordered the sampler that came with smaller portions of the beef stew, chicken boxty, shepherd's pie, and corned beef and cabbage.i think the stew was one of the ones i liked the best, it was hearty, the meat was tender, and the flavor was good. The chicken boxty could have used a little bit more flavor to the sauce, it tasted kind of bland. The shepherd's pie was the beef version, it was not the best I've had but still good. I feel like it also could have used just a bit more flavor or some salt. The corned beef and cabbage tasted like they added nothing to it to give it flavor, so i was a bit disappointed with it. However, the corned beef was pretty tender and i liked the taste. We also ordered the house burger which we liked. I liked the flavor the irish cheddar gave it. It came with fries, which tasted fresh and we enjoyed. It's pretty dark inside, and it definitely looks older, but that's the vibe they are going for. You almost feel transported to another time for sure. Yeah everything was in there The upstairs looks a little bit brighter, and in hindsight I wish we would have sat up there. I feel like downstairs is more for when you just want to have a drink and watch the game.

I hate leaving questionable reviews.. but also feel when we researched places we didn't get an accurate story. This is a true neighborhood pub.. the place you come so everybody knows your name. Which I love and can appreciate. But as an outsider it was kinda chaotic instead. A bartender came to clean a table for us. The largest grossest bugger hanging out of his nose, he had sweat marks so large there was no need to lift his arms to see them. He proceeded then to do shots at the bar with costumers. Which again... I totally can appreciate having a good time in a good neighborhood pub. The floors were so dirty around the booths. The menus dirty. Just over all couldn't stay and eat here. Did get some good laughs watching a few very inebriated customers, had some good drinks and went on our way. We personally wouldn't come back, but again if you live in the neighborhood and it's just that place you come to for your hang with friends, it's looks like it's a fun place.

His questions guided my indecision towards a Berkshire Old Fashioned that was fantastic despite my fumbling to get there. With the warm up round over and the old fashioned loosening up my creativity, round two was set to be a knockout. I love coffee (specifically strong espresso drinks), so I asked for a strong, coffee infused, punchy cocktail, but with a different base of alcohol from the old fashioned. What came out was the best cocktail I will probably ever have in my life. The bourbon cocktail with coffee liqueur (and a number of other garnishes I will never remember) hit the bullseye. Flavorful, strong, bold, delicious all at the same time. Unfortunately (?), this was a noble experiment so I'll forever be chasing the white whale of what this drink was. But that's the allure.

Right away when we arrived I noticed that the flooring on the revolving fireplace looked like it needed to be replaced. I shrugged it off thinking they needed light weight materials for the revolving floor entrence. But I didn't think it was a good look for what is supposed to be a swanky exclusive vibe and being the first thing you really see. ( First impressions are important) Despite having made a reservation, we were seated directly between the revolving entrence and the exit, in the two coolest looking but most uncomfortable chairs. They were not practical at all for sitting and conversing a in a loud environment. That corner, in my opinion, should be reserved for the hostess and not for guest. Initially we thought these chairs were a quick stop before being moved to some of the other available sitting at the bar or around the perimeter we could clearly see when we came in. We asked, and where told those were our seats. No offer was made to be moved. We did not get a server to come to us until after we had placed our drink order with one of the hostess, about 20min after we were seated. Our server was very nice and polite. No issues there, just took long to get to us. The drinks were disappointing. Forgettable to say the least. We ordered one of there menu items and a Moscow mule. We were sad to see the Moscow mule served in a glass you might normally get a mojito in ... it wasn't served in a copper cup. As we sat there and looked at the place, we both thought the ambiance and decor was nice. However we were surprised to see so many people looked very underdressed considering they have a "smart casual" dress code, completely destroyed the whole swanky exclusive vibe. Lots of men in shorts and both men and women in flip flops. I also noticed the flooring inside the speakeasy had similar wear and scuff marks, as on the fireplace. The need to update their flooring and the amount of underdressed guest did not help project the vibes that they are going for. This really felt like a fast food (drinks) chain in any mall. Sadly I would not recommend, do to the drinks not being all that good, the service was mediocre, the "vibe" and experience they sell fall short.
