I have honestly been going to one of the oldest "COOL" places in Olympia almost since it's creation !!! I've always loved this bar . now I live in Tacoma ,however, and am living in a very nice 55 + community . There are a lot of "cool" bars in Tacoma , but so far I haven't personally found one . They make very good food and it's a very good pub and they have lots of different cocktails and great things on tap. First impression : This place seems confused. Restaurant or Irish Pub. More of a sports bar vibe. Bar was crowded. We had to sit in the restaurant area. So I didnt get the bar feel. Waitress was friendly. We got some cocktails. I ordered an Irish mule because I was in an Irish pub. Jameson. Wife ordered appetizers. While looking at the menu I observed this place would cater to most tastes. Not just the traditional food. I got the bangers and mash. If you dont get anything, just try the Irish soda bread. OMG. So about once a month my husband and I like to go out for fish and chips. I like the batter fried 3 pc they have here. Except for the pool of oil in the bottom of my basket. The tarter is good as well as the coleslaw ! I still am on a quest to find the best batter fried fish and chips. read more

Don't go for Thursday Bingo. It's turned into a sort of club, and tables are saved for certain people. We were treated totally disrespectful. Sat at a table that didn't have a name on it, and 3 employees said we couldn't sit there. But there was nowhere else to sit. We were told that we haven't been there in a while. Which was not true. We almost always go every Thursday. Buy lunch and play. The service isn't that good, food mediocre, and too expensive. They take a 10-15 minute between each of the 5 games for mainly the smokers. I only go for the great pool tables. Stood at the bar for 20 minutes and watched multiple staff members walk by without even acknowledging me I'm talking maybe 4 people walked by me without even a hi or anything mostly older staff members or bartenders. Every younger bartender or staff member was friendly and at least greeted me with a smile and an excuse me at least. I basically wasn't even there to them standing at the place where everybody else got there drinks. Got annoyed walked back to my pool table to start a game. My father walks over does the same stand and wait I did for the same amount of time before getting annoyed as well and walks right back over to the table. We finally just say to hell with it and use our louder voices just to get there attention after playing a pretty long game of pool and having not a single staff member even walk up to us or acknowledge us still. If you like pool this place has some awesome tables and the salad I got after the insanely long wait to take the order came out surprisingly fast for how terrible the other service was. But even me getting the salad was in an effort to make it so I didn't have to wait as long for my food was gonna order the steak or a burger but with how long it took me to have my order taken I wasn't taking the risk on waiting an hour for a steak. And as a side note I don't look my age by any means and worked in a 21+ establishment I would 1000000% ID myself clean shaven like I was this night maybe my height would have been a factor since I am taller than average at 6'2 but I could have easily been a minor in there drinking like it was nothing with a little confidence not once was my ID checked that's a hefty fine and a loss of liquor license potentially if I'm not mistaken I'd very much check into this if I was the owners read more

I've tried the fish & chips at what feels like every place that offers it in the area and hands down, the plate I had the other night has been my absolute favorite. So freaking good. We ordered the fish & chips, Philly, fried shrooms, and gizzards. The only thing we were kinda disappointed with was the philly. Everything's there, the texture, how well its cooked... its just majorly missing flavor. Some salt and pepper would go a long way on that sammie. It actually may not even need that, just use a better cheese other than swiss. Swiss is far too bland. For sure the makings of an amazing philly. Oh, and the sauce that came with the gizzards, if its not already bottled, do that... and sell it. So freaking good. read more

We had the 2 egg classic breakfast and it was pretty good. The exception was the hash browns. They serve them in a 2 inch thick block so that the top is browned and the middle is mushy. We should have taken the hint and left when our server tossed menus on the table and made a beeline for another table, saying "Be right with you" She returned after 5 minutes and we placed our order of Veggie Platter and Fish&Chips. The food took longer than expected, but the place seemed busy for a Wednesday afternoon, so no worries there. We had asked for catsup when the food was delivered, but our server forgot until she breezed by again a few minutes later on her way to the other table again, and pulled a bottle from a nearby table that had been recently vacated, and not yet cleaned. Food - a mixed review: Fish and chips good, Veggie Platter overcooked and soggy, with mushy, off-tasting carrots. When we asked for the check it was promptly delivered, with a 'suggested tip' scale printed at the bottom. Rude and unprofessional in my opinion, and the scale beginning at 20% for below-par service is ridiculous. Furthermore, one does not tip on the sales tax portion of a dining bill. Duh. We waited for our server to return to complete our transaction. And waited. Finally I asked as she breezed by once again to please charge our card and complete the sale. She responded that she thought we had used the scan function on the bill to pay. Huh. No. We did not. We expected that was part of restaurant service performed by the server. Huh. I guess we expected too much. Now that we know what to expect from O'Blarney's we'll make a different choice when selecting a restaurant for pub grub. read more

O'Blarney's has the best fish and onion rings in Thurston County. Crispy, golden(not burnt) full flakey cod. Delicious. The onion rings wide, golden, tender, and melts in your mouth. Our server was delightful, friendly, perfectly attentive. read more

Bad service and the worst corn beef and cabbage I have ever had. This was probably slightly better then prison food. Cabbage was tasteless. Yo, when you steam cabbage and you add no flavor it taste bland. The bread was not soda bread, even if it says it was supposed to be. Corn beef tasted ok, but mediocre. Potatoes were steamed same with the carrots, this was the crap I had to feed my guests at a nursing home, they hated it too! There are much better places to eat at then this place. read more

Love this place. I usually go there for breakfast. They get an older crowd and some dedicated customers. When I see the place somewhat crowded it gives me a good feeling about the food, if they keep getting customers there. I recommend the Chicken Fried Steak and Scramble. read more

The bar service was great very cordial but the woman running the pull tabs was very rude and condescending she started as soon as I walked over to the pull tab bar . She was twice as disrespectful to my wife. I wanted to complain but with the way she was talking to the guy at the door I was worried about getting beat up and I'm a retired senior citizen on crutches. Im thinking it was my disability that was the reason for this woman's attitude. We in no way provoked her. I believe their manager should give us a apology and a full refund. First of all, I have had multiple very good experiences here but tonight's visit is why I am giving it a one star review. In the past I have been here with my friends and family who are significantly older than me (+15 years) and been treated very well, always tended to during our visit. Normally I get great service. Today I went with my two of my friends (we are all around 21) and were treated absolutely horribly. I understand that college students are not necessarily known to tip well but we all work we typically tip well because we live off of them. We only came in specifically for drinks and appetizers. In the hour we were there our server, Karina, only visited us twice, once to take our orders and another time to bring our food. We were very nice and not rude AT ALL. We came in before happy hour ended and ordered our drinks before happy hour ended and did not receive the happy hour prices we came in for. We were not asked how our food was and Karina did not return to offer us more drinks while we finished our meals. We waited a half an hour after we finished our food for her to even remember we were sitting there. When Karina finally came to give us our check she had not asked if we wanted it split so she had to go back again to split it which took even longer (side note: we expected to be out of there by 6:45 because we had somewhere to be at 7). We ended up not getting out of there on time which was even more frustrating. Overall a 1/10 experience at a place I normally enjoy visiting. read more

I go to this place a lot.. Walked and a girl labree said I'm not to come back that her and her manager decided this. When I asked for a reason she said something about three girls complaining about didn't what or why. Emily the so called manger is always rude to me. Never smiles and asks what do I want rudly and when go back to the counter for another beverage she always ask you done like she wants me to leave. I had a worker in there tell me she was insecure and jealous of me because I was independent and confident. I actually watched this manager Emily on the day before Saint Patrick day hand over a bottle of liquor to her boy friend and the other works that were building steps and such for the event. Isent this illegal? There are employs that know about this too. I spoke to one of them about it. I tried calling Mike the owner I guess to talk to him about these things and the girl answered the phone said there isent a Mike there. Covering her butt I guess not wanting me to talk. I've tried callings Mike's phone after hours and his VM is full and when it isent he don't return calls. I ask Emily that was walking around the resturant one time if she would get me a pack of smokes and she looked at me and said I'm not working very rudly. I said oh I'm sorry. What I really wanted to say is get the hell out then. I don't want to come back to this place. There seriously needs to be a new manager. I wanted to add another thing so the patio / smoking area is always filthy dirty no one ever comes out and sanitizes the tables there's never chairs everything set up in the morning breakfast time and they set people out there that don't smoke to wait for tables to eat inside due to the covid deaths is disgusting and gross. read more
