**Bar review only** We decided to pop into the bar here as we got married at the OC White Room's venue five years ago, so why not stop and have a drink at the bar for the occasion? The bartender was excellent and very personable. I got a Pinot Grigio and the hubs had a specialty drink. They have a variety of handmade cocktails on the menu that are pretty different than you'll find in most places, so be sure to check that out. We hung out at the bar for about an hour and a half and it was a perfect rest spot to get ready for more walking around the area. They have tons of outdoor seating, indoor seating, and balcony seating. If you are going to be there during the weekend and you want a specific seating area, I highly recommend you make a reservation as this place fills up fast. Had dinner hear with some friends (one from out of state craving crab legs). Despite marginal weather having us modify our call ahead seating to indoors and a party of 45 seated shortly ahead of us, our experience was great. We were seated quickly, under the circumstances it felt our orders were timely, and the food was exceptional. No quality lost on the apparent high demands on the kitchen staff or the bar tender for that matter. Also, our server "Cat" was able to maintain a bright smile and positive attitude throughout the heavy demands and hurdles for staff. How do I start.... Seems like a very nice place when we first found it on the internet and in the old trolley book. We were told 45 mins wait, we went to the square, looked at the beautiful lights. We walked back after 40 minutes and was told there's a few people ahead of us. We stood on the side for another 30 minutes while we constantly keep checking and watch other parties of 5 or more being seated. It's very very frustrating when it's cold and you're hungry. We made the choice to pass other restaurants to try this one only to catch attitude from the hostess. Ambiance is ok, it's cold and not enough warmers/heat lamps to keep customers comfortable. After putting us in a booth when one of us is over 6'6" tall. We requested another table and was given one with a barely lit heat lamp. We asked our server Mikey to move to the next table that had a better heat lamp, he said ok. The manager Mr. Eddie came out, and said to us--"you cannot just move to another table"; we told him Mikey gave the ok, he immediately turn to Mikey and said "you can't do that, we will talk about it later". As a customer, it infuriated me even more, after waiting over an hour, and our server is being very accommodating and providing the best customer service he can. The worse part of it--there were about 4 other empty table in the vicinity; I wonder why our server Mikey was talked to like that?!? Mr. Eddie--a lesson in customer service. I am all about service when your livelihood is based on the patrons walking through your doors! The food was excellent. My son enjoyed his bronzed salmon, my brother-in-law said the grits with the salmon was also good. My mom and sister said their food was good as well, but like me, we waited so long we couldn't eat it all. Will we come back? Probably not. Nice outside seating in a garden setting with views of the water. Waitstaff was attentive. I ordered the toasted almond frozen drink which was so good! It tasted like I was drinking ice cream. I didn't taste any alcohol. We both ordered the garlic shrimp melt sandwich. It was garlicky (that's now a word haha). We felt like if they would have toasted the bread it would have improved the taste and texture. I subbed veggies for fries which had a kick to it but were rather greasy. read more

We went to OC White's for a last minute dinner. We didn't have to wait long for a table and were able to get a seat at the bar so we could listen to the guitarist playing in the outdoor patio. For dinner my husband and I split the house salad which was pretty boring and the salmon. The salmon was delicious and perfectly cooked. It motivated us to make a reservation for Thanksgiving. Sadly, we won't return for that annual meal. Yes I'm keeping in mind it's a tough night to go out to dinner and we thanked all the servers for being there instead of with family. OC White's was completely overwhelmed and overbooked IMO. We booked weeks and weeks in advance yet we still had to wait over an hour for our table. The food was just slightly above cafeteria style and taste and presentation. I'm wondering if they ran out of some items and had to make do with store-bought.? We had very small portions served to us which again seemed like maybe they over booked the place? My leasing learned is that we are not going to a restaurant again for Thanksgiving. It's a tough gig. This is a solid place to come to for some drinks and appetizers with ambiance, but the regular meals are a bit lacking in flavor - particularly salt. Our orders were Shrimp Abaco which was surprisingly tasteless and lacking even salt. No salt and pepper at the table due to restrictions. The Mahi and Grits was actually pretty good except for the total lack of salt. We would visit again for ambiance, drinks, and appetizers. read more

Attended for a wedding rehearsal dinner and had a great experience! If we lived here, would definitely make this a regular experience. The food was delicious, the drinks were great, and the service was excellent. We started off with bruschetta and the crab dip, both were delicious. The main course was a shrimp linguine type of dish (it must've been from a catering menu because it's not on the regular menu) it was pretty good. Dessert was the key lime pie, not my go to choice, but it was good. If you can, I recommend the second level patio. It has a great view of the surrounding area and ocean. read more

We have always found a reason to go somewhere else when visiting St. Augustine. Shame on us. Looking back at the missed opportunities to enjoy this great place makes me a little sad. We had a short wait but were able to visit the bar and get a drink while waiting for our table. 20 mins later we had a table with a view of the water and the live music. We find it very enjoyable when the establishment keeps the volume at a level that allows normal conversation to be had. The artist was a perfect accompaniment to our dinner. RESTAURANT REVIEW: We spent a long weekend in St. Augustine for Christmas and the first restaurant we ate at, happily, was OC White's Seafood & Spirits. Beautifully decorated with lights galore, the restaurant is located right next to the bay. It wasn't particularly crowded on a Wednesday night which was great considering how many people pile into town during the holidays. The Chardonnay was nicely chilled and the pina colada mocktail quite tasty. We started with New England clam chowder. The soup was a bit salty, but it was good without an overwhelming sherry flavor. My husband had the quarter pound burger which was prepared exactly to his liking. I had wahoo fish, topped with crab and a flavorful cream sauce, served with broccoli and rice. The fish was delicious. The rice and broccoli average, but not bad. Our son had a blackened white fish with mango that he also found quite tasty. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience at a reasonable price point, a bit outside the central shopping area which meant it wasn't quite as crowded. We would go back. read more

What a great find on my trip to St. Augustine. We had a group of 6 of us sit outside and we had such an enjoyable lunch at OC Whites. The outside patio is seriously adorable, kind of on a street corner (but you can still see the water, since it's across the street). We sat under the vine covered awning and enjoyed our day and weather. I never made it inside, so I can't say what that atmosphere is like. Our server was great and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The crab cake was to die for and full of great chunks of crab I definitely recommend them. I don't think you could go wrong with this menu. Our whole table got salads, burgers and more and enjoyed all. I'll definitely be making it back on my next trip! read more

Upon entering the whole staff was very friendly and bubbly, Taylor was our waitress she was attentive and quick. She gave some good recommendations for the appetizers so we had the calamari, crabcake, and peel and eat shrimp. They were very accommodating to our dog and he sat peaceful in the corner the whole time we were dining. The food was delicious and as always our eyes are always bigger than our stomach. After the appetizers we ordered the ribeye and two desserts but had to take it to go. OC Whites is a hit or miss depending on who's working and what time. I've been 2 times now (new to the area) and the first visit was a success! With little customers eating that afternoon, we had awesome freshly baked French fries with homemade ranch and a killer Bloody Mary. I do have two pups and while OC Whites says they are dog friendly, some of the staff are clearly bothered by your furry friends which we somewhat noticed the first time but thought nothing of it. The second time I went with guests in town... it was a major let down. All the guests and including myself were not impressed with the food. Our fries were soggy and lukewarm (not fresh like the first time we came). The shrimp and grits were like they had been microwaved with not much flavor while the fish n chips didn't meet my guests expectations. The waitress was very uncomfortable serving with my dogs near by. So twice now and people seem to be irritated with dogs showing up and dining at their restaurant. For the money spent and experience with dogs, it's over priced and worth debating if I'll go back. But maybe there's certain items on the menu I need to get instead? We popped into the OC for some drinks while waiting for a local cruise on the bay so I must emphasize that while we did sit inside for air conditioning, we did not eat. The ambiance is wonderful and the service very good. I would most definitely return for lunch or dinner but would eat outside in the beautiful courtyard. read more

We wanted to like this pretty restaurant, but it's a one and done. My partner in dining ordered the clam chowder and the server wrote it down. She then asked if we wanted to hear the specials. He ordered the coconut shrimp, and got fries and cucumber salad as sides. He didn't want fries, but the sides are limited here. I wanted the seafood combo, but you had to get all 3 items grilled or fried, and I wanted to have 2 grilled and I last thing, shrimp, fried. I moved on and got the crab cakes, my sides were the rice and the cucumber salad. Rice was plain, basically flavorless white rice. The best part of both meals was the cucumber salad. Crab cakes good, but had something hard...shell, cartilage, something off putting. Save your money When a small side item is the best thing about a $32 plate of food, there's a problem. My husband had their July 4th sampler platter. Unfortunately I can't remember what all was on it. He said it was really good though. I had the fried shrimp and I love it was lightly battered. If the batter is to thick you can't taste the shrimp. I do wish my side of cucumber salad had been just a bit bigger. I love cucumber salad and this one was very good. I've only been to Saint Augustine twice and the first time I really wanted to come here and I'm glad I did! They have a really good margarita that is spicy called Margarets margarita. Found this restaurant by accident, but I am so glad I did. The outdoor atmosphere is incredible especially during the evening with live music. Ambience earns a 4. This is a relaxing and romantic spot near the intercoastal, so perfect for a late meal and walk along the water. The patio is beautiful, and we enjoyed great weather. Food was good, not the best seafood in town, but overall a nice evening. They have live music, and were accomodating enough to put us towards the back of the patio where it was a little quieter. Always dreamed to visit St.Augustin in Christmas time! All restaurant and building decorated with a bunch of lights. Even though this place was really busy - we got our table in about 10 minutes. Feels like you are at grandma's house, because of really cozy atmosphere! Also the biggest plus is life music:) Our server was really busy because of bunch of tables she had, but we still got as good service, as possible! Food is really delicious and we loved artichoke crab dip! But only one think when I ordered shrimp and grits- I've asked my server to make it without bacon. Maybe because it was really busy, but I got my dish with bacon and spent maybe 30 more minutes for kitchen to fix it!
