Went here today after church with a couple of new friends. I got the Eggs Benedict, finally after 45 minutes our food arrived. Yes, it was busy, but we were chatting, so that was fine. My poached eggs were harder than boiled eggs, no where near poached. I turned one of them over & it was brown, not sure how this happened with poached eggs. I don't like to send food back, but everyone at the table said that was inexcusable. I was just not going to eat it. I also didn't get the fresh fruit the 1st or 2nd time after asking. Eggs were slightly better the 2nd tlme, but my hone fried potatoes were from my 1st plate. Waitress never asked how the 2nd plate was. My wife and I ate lunch at O'Charley's today. We arrived early, right at 11:15. The trip started off poorly when we asked our server how much it costs to add a side salad to an entree, and his response was that he had only worked there 5 days and did not know. I understand that everyone is new at some point, so I make a point to cut new servers a lot of extra slack. We eventually got the salad situation sorted out, and everything seemed fine. My wife ordered a cup of potato soup and a half ceasar salad, and I ordered the chicken pot pie. My wife's soup was so good, that she decided to cancel her salad order and just order another bowl of soup. Then our server got seated with his second table of guests. That's when the trouble began. My food came out somewhat promptly, and my wife was left waiting for her bowl of soup. Approximately 15 minutes later, I had finished as much of my pot pie as I could stomach (it was not tasty) and she was still waiting on her soup. My glass of tea was long gone, and neither of us was eating. We then sat there at our table being ignored for another good 15 minutes, while our server walked by numerous times, looked at my empty glass, looked at me in the eyes, and then walked right past us. Over and over and over. And over. And over and over again. Lots. In the mean time, while we were busy being ignored by our server, we got to experience being ignored by what I presume is the manager. She looked at my empty glass, then looked at the unhappy expression on my face, and I guess decided it wasn't worth her time. At some point during the waiting process our server graced us with his presence to ask if we were still okay, to which we requested the check. I will give credit where credit is due, he promptly brought out the check. And then proceeded to take another 10 minutes to pick up my payment. Our payment was picked up at 12:47. Total time for us to get one entree, one salad, and two bowls of soup: 1 hour and 32 minutes. For two people. On our way out, we contemplated complaining to the manager about our experience, or lack thereof, but she was too busy fielding complaints from the table behind us (who never actually got their food by the time they gave up and left). Again, I know everyone is new at some point. But service this poor doesn't just result from a new server. It is a systemic problem from the top down. The manager is at fault here. She doesn't take her job seriously, performs poorly at it, and that attitude is passed down through everyone that works here and onto the guests. If you value your money and time, take my advice and avoid O'Charley's in Springfield. Should have just gone to McDonald's. The food there sucks too but at least you get your bad food quickly. O'Charley's makes you wait for it. EDIT: Forgot to mention, when we first got there, they had 4 little appetizer plates sitting on the table. The hostess quickly grabbed two of them and said "let me get these out of the way for you." She tried to get them before we could see the stuck on food on them, but we saw it. And she didn't realize that the 3rd plate also had stuck on food. When my wife requested a clean plate, her response was "oh, sorry, sometimes you have to run these through the dishwasher twice to get them clean." Oh. Thanks. Good to know. Sometimes we get clean dishes. Sometimes not. Guess it's a toss up. read more

Would give 0 stars if possible. Terrible service, cold food, over cooked baked potato, under cooked steaks, had to wait 15 minutes for someone to come to the table and take our drink order. Servers are rude and the managers don't know how to treat customers. Will never go back. read more

This place is a hit or miss sometimes. Not a huge fan but once in a while my son wants the salmon or husband wants a decent steak. Service is also hit or miss. read more

The service was good . The food was ok . I got the salad and it was not the best the soup was cold and wasn't very tasty. The steak was ok .

Never too crowded, never have to wait. Don't like some of the changes they've made recently. Except for Free Pie Wednesday. That's awesome.

Unfortunately the good local restaurants in town are closed on Sundays so the 2 or 3 chains are jammed. We went here knowing there would be a wait. After a 25 min wait with people jammed in the alcove and waiting outside in the cold, we were escorted to a table in a dining room with 17 totally empty tables and 4 more tables that needed bussing.....why the wait? Seeing that really put a bad taste in out mouths even before the food was ordered. The food - ok but typical. The decor is old and worn - needs an update like others in the chain. More coordination and training of staff needed. read more

I crave their crisp salads so I always come back. Big menu so good place to please everyone. Service is lacking, but probably average for ocharleys. Occasionally get an old potato or too well done steak, but overall the food is good value. Sunday brunch or prime rib is my favorite. read more

We've had better service at Shoney's. Daniel, our waiter, had the worst attitude. He didn't refill our drinks once. The "mango" sweet tea tasted like watered down unsweetened tea. The loaded potato soup was more like nacho cheese sauce with a spoon. The waiter looked at my husband as he raised his hand to get his attention and walked right past while ignoring him. My fish and chips had a bone in it and we got the waiter. He got the manager whose answer was more fish. No, thank you. Well have pies on us. Then we explained what the waiter had been doing. She apologized by saying he normally gets good reviews from customers. I said he must be having a bad night. But really, why say that as a manager? I have no reason to lie about your service. I didn't spend 75 dollars to get 8 dollars worth of pies free. Oh and didn't comp the fish either. WORST NIGHT OUT!!! read more

start with appetizers...chips and quest are amazing..they nailed the fried green tomatoes, great draft beer selections and AL the manager and wait staff terrific. set this vegetarian up in style!!!! read more

Service was Awful, we try it every couple months and it is a challenge on can't get any worse.

Worst experience ever! Cindy the waitress never gave us a refill, took 20 mins to get our drink order in and another 10 to get them. After 35 mins I got my food and grandson got his but not my wife or son. Total lack of communication! after speaking with manager, which by the way was the best experience while there, we found out that 45 customers got up and left yesterday! Will not go back until that debockle is fixed! Kitchen management sucks! read more

Food was yummy. Kids ate free. After a long trip this is just what we needed to fuel up! Chicken tenders were delicious!!!

The food was pretty good. Our server was very nice. The restaurant could have been cleaner. There were several dirty tables and they were not very busy for a Saturday night. read more

My husband & I were so looking forward to having lunch here today. Our visit started off rocky with a hostess who seemed a bit off her game. We were promptly greeted by our server and our drink order was taken. The server brought our drinks, then stated she would get us our rolls while we decided on what to order. That was the last we saw of her. After waiting approx. 15 - 20 min., we flagged down the manager, asked to pay for our drinks and said we were leaving. He did offer to buy our lunch, but by that time, we just wanted out of there. We have been very frequent customers of this restaurant since 2005 when we moved here. For about the past 2 years, the service has slowly deteriorated and now this incident today. read more
