Everytime we go into this bar it's closing early, I'm not even talking about like 1 a.m. Early. Like super early. We stopped in months and there were over 15 people in the bar we were told they were closing early and it wasn't a Sunday or anything crazy like that. Beutiful spokane, I lived here for 6 years in the 90's I own a house and the place is Beutiful but as always I came back to look at some construction that's being done to my house and I went to this pub, I had one beer and they refused to serve me anymore I am Mexican American what ever that means I am brown I was raised in California my dad is English my mom is Mexican and I am brown. This pub is the most predudice place I've ever been. My wife is from Tennessee and she used to complain about spokane treating us different because of my skin color and I never noticed it once but tonight I did. Hadn't been to O'Doherty's in years, though my office is just five blocks away. Love the atmosphere. The staff are really friendly. Had the Philly Chicken Sandwich with fries. The sandwich was absolutely delicious - chicken was tender and juicy, mushrooms and peppers flavorful and tender, and the cheese properly gooey. Visited tonight. Have been here many times prior when I worked downtown. My reuben sandwich was good but not a standout. Waitress was attentive and nice but didn't say anything when my salad was hardly touched? Salad that accompanied my sandwich was really disappointing....a bunch of chopped up iceberg lettuce with a few croutons thrown on top...kind of lazy and hardly current. Overpriced for what I got. We stopped in here on a nice afternoon and sat out on their patio. The beer was good and cold, the service was prompt and courteous, and the food was pretty good. We had a couple of beers and we ordered hot wings and french fries. The fries were pretty awesome!! The wings were good, nothing special, but good. After experiencing crap restaurant after crap restaurant, we FINALLY found another gem in the Valley! The hubs ordered a tasty Rueben and I wolfed down an order of fish and chips - both were fabulous and scrumdiddiliumcious. City Center - Spokane, WA: this is a fun place! It reminds me of some of the bars in S.F. North Beach. Lot's of "Handles". They are also known for their speciality drinks. Food is typical Pub Food, but who cares when you are having a great time. Everyone getting along with everyone ... and that is a welcome experience! read more

I have been there a number of times but last Saturday night something went haywire with the kitchen. Stopped from drinks and bar snacks. Wait staff excellent, the onion rings were good but the fries something was off. Having lived in England and traveled to Ireland we thought it was just a Irish thing. Both my wife and I commented about how heavy we felt during the Bolder Fresher show. When we got home my wife started heaving and that continued for 2 days. Was it the fries, I suspect that the grease was rancid which does not make sense since the onion rings tasted fine. With that said I would recommend avoiding the fries. read more

Plenty of seating Great brews on tap Convenient downtown location I have had a lot of success with Yelp while in L.A., Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver, BC. Unfortunately its more of a miss rather that a hit when it comes to Spokane. What seems to pass as a 5 star establishment in Spokane would barely garner a 3 star rating elsewhere. One of my favortie places to go in Spokane. The corned beef sandwhiches are really good as well as the fish and chips and the pastie. In the summer it's really nice to eat outdoors here on a hot spokane day and in the winter the food will really warm you up. Definitely worth a stop if you are ever in spokane. read more

I was craving some decent beer and some good home food... Well I got it. The stew was great (the sourdough that came with it was perfect). I had a few Harps and the fish and chips. The fish was perfect, flakey and not oily at all. The chips were decent too. If I come back through Spokane again I will make sure I stop in. read more
