The place was not friendly, if you didn't fit the typical customers they had it seemed like a chore the bartender to get you drinks. A lot of looks towards me and my friends for being younger like we were "spoiled kids." Ended up going to Paul's down the block and it was a lot more friendly and easier to have a great time with your friends. read more

I've been there a few times. the service is good. the beers are kind of pricey. this weekend over Labor Day they put up one of those racist NS3 signs because of some rowdy dudes that came in shirtless so that's one reason I don't frequent that place. those signs originally existed to keep hippies out of businesses as a result of the civil rights era. the signs are discriminatory. so I generally don't patronize any place that has those signs. a shame because I know some of the people there and they are friendly. read more

Boyfriend and I were walking around Orange circle and saw this pub which looked fun as we walked by. We decided to give it a try. Before going though, I did look at reviews and was a little iffy but they had good basic reasonably priced drinks. It does get loud and bartenders get busy so don't take bad if they aren't quick to attend you (despite saying this, the bartender was pretty quick to help us out but we did have to call for his attention). Only reason why I gave it 4 was bc some drunk guy next to us was being weird while we were sitting ay the bar . . . He was drunk of course but he kept getting so angry at people taking his seats when he would leave it unattended for a while. If you're thinking about trying this place out, just do it ... it's not that bad lol. read more

Having had a lot to drink since my last review, I can say without a doubt that this bar has a great feel and vibe. You have locals, like lifers and you have four year visitors, its a great mix. the beer is the price that beer should be, when its mass market beer from a keg. My husband and I don't really frequent dive bars but O'Hara's is the exception! Drinks are cheap .. but not watered down (sometimes the two go hand in hand) and the service is friendly. There's always a lively crowd and all the pool tables are usually taken but we always find a booth/table without any issues no matter how busy it is. I love dive bars and have always wanted to like Os, as I live around the corner. I know it's an old school Orange establishment so I'm sure there are those who disagree with my review, but after repeated annoying experiences I refuse to come here anymore. Unless you're a regular, the bartenders are ALWAYS slow AF to take a drink order, even when it's dead. Also, don't call my gf sweetheart. The pool tables are way too close together. The men's bathroom always has flies and smells terrible, which is to be expected since it's a dive. Worst of all are the annoying regulars who are very territorial with the pool tables. Oh, the memories - or lack thereof. O'Hara's used to be a regular stop for me. The drinks were cheap, and the service was friendly. Things have not changed much in the past 15 years or so. They have a full bar and a few taps. The drinks are still reasonably priced - $14 for a pitcher of IPA that had about five glasses. Bartender was friendly. I noticed that they still have old tube TVs around the place. No upgrades to those fancy flat screens here. O'Hara's is a dive bar, and they do the dive bar thing about as well as anyone. read more

If Herpes had a hang out, it would be here.... I'm all for dive bars but def. not this one. I think a bar says a lot by the people that frequent it. This place was just a dump. It's friday night and we found an open parking spot in front of here for dinner around the corner. Later my car battery died and we were stuck hanging here for AAA to bring us a new one. Long story short, this place had some of rudest people coming in and out of there. They came over to of course give their two cents on what was wrong with my car. Drunk, high, and all up in our face and yes they told us that. Mauricio L had to tell one of them to back away. My sister and I went in the bar to use the restroom and I can see why those people hung out here. Overstimulation of stuff hanging all over the place. The atmosphere just looked dirty, not cool dive bar dirty, like if I touch something I might get herpes dirty. Quick & Dirty: A decent neighborhood bar, good pool tables, decent prices on drinks. Gets busy later in the evening. Long & Local: O'Hara's is your typical neighborhood bar and then some. I've been in here a handful of times since moving to Orange and I must admit that I like hanging out here sometimes. The drinks are decent pours, they have a relatively good beer selection, and there are a few bar games (pool tables, mega touch) to keep you entertained in addition to multiple TV's to watch sports. The Jukebox here blows and only has a small selection of overplayed songs. The crowd here varies depending on when you go. Late afternoon and early evening is a pretty chill crowd and the place usually isn't too crowded. Later in the night when the college kids and party drinkers come out is when it gets busy. O'Hara's can get really crowded at this time so if you're looking to relax at a quiet bar then you may want to consider going someplace else. There are booths and tables to hang out at as well as the bar top. The bartenders aren't usually very friendly and I have yet to see one smile at me or strike up a conversation other than "What do you want to drink?" Am I all hurt and crying over this? No, but it's customer service 101 to welcome your guests and be nice to people. Would I go back to O'Hara's? Yep. It's within walking distance of my house and their pool tables are even and clean (as of this review). Should you go? Yes. Well I really tried to like this place. Came in for St Paddys, they took out all the stools so you had to stand, very uncomfortable. They only had 2 bartenders and they couldn't handle it needed more help like a bar back, however the older female had a nice body with nice big boobs! I tried but I just couldn't stay any longer cause it felt like my legs were gonna fall off. Sorry, I won't be back. Paul's is better! read more

If you already have your drinks, hanging toward the back is a better choice, much more open. The Crowd: Mostly young adults from the local Chapman University. Overall friendly environment. Service: We're guessing, slow, if this is your first time here. We were served almost immedietly upon entering, but we are also local to this establishment. Prices: $3.75 bottle domestic. Entertainment: 3 pool tables, bar top video game, internet juke box. Restroom: Nasty. Definitely a dive bar! Bartender: Crazy red headed dude named Kendall. Closing statement: Originally, we were headed to a different bar, which is closed at night. We never wrote an official review on O'Hara's, so the night worked out just fine. read more

I've only been here once but the service was bad. I am young, im 23 so it might be different from what im used to but this bar had bad service and ppl were really rude here saying things like "that's why you don't let young ppl in" or they were outwardly complaining about us buying pitchers and playing card games. There are for sure better bars around, I personally would not suggest this bar if you're younger but if you are older than it might fit your vibe! read more

Safe to say we will never be coming back here again. Walked in and got our IDs checked. However, the bartender claimed that my 25 year old friend's ID was fake. While I understand that he was just doing his job, shouldn't he know a real ID from a fake one? He proceeded to compare her ID to mine (mine being the new updated ID while hers was not? why would you even compare the two???) He proceeded to be extremely rude to her and said she would be to call the cops if it was actually real in order to get it back. Thankfully the cops showed up fairly quickly and were able to get the ID back for us. They were also confused as to why he thought the ID was fake. Never once got an apology from the bartender either. read more

How the heck have I not reviewed this age old classic of the Orange Plaza. There is not much I can really say about O's that has not already been said. I mean it's dirty, divey, crowded on weekends and has cheap drinks. Oh and dont think about trying to get over here come St. Patty's day unless you are willing to wait or get in super early to drink. It goes OFF here on St. Patty's. But seriously this is a good bar to come to on a Friday or Saturday night. They have a couple of pool tables and the jukebox is usually cranking out country music. Pitchers of domestic beers are cheap and the beer is cold, how can you go wrong? Sometimes getting to the bar to order can be a little challenging if you are here on a busy night but they do a good job. The bartenders here have all been doing it for a very long time and know how to get you in and out with a drink in hand pretty quick. Not a bad place to come and hang out during the week. Usually pretty easy to get in at the bar have a few cold ones and be on your merry way. Oh and another word of advice is during street fair this place gets insane. Don't even try it. I love a good dive bar/pub and they have THREE pool tables. There's a lot of seats at the bar and the bartender was dope, he let us know there was a better deal for a pitcher of the beers we ordered to save us some money and who doesn't appreciate that. He actually made a minor mistake with our card transaction and hooked us up to make up for it! There was a good vibe in the place at 3pm on a Monday so I'm sure they do a lot of business on the weekends. They also have a touch tunes machine so you can choose your own music. read more

Took my first visit to O'Hara's, & had a great visit. Very dark environment, and exactly what you would expect a little skeazy pub would be. Jeff, the bartender, was extremely helpful, & made an AMAZING Coffee Martini for my girlfriend. Even Toasted Marshmallows as a garnish! It was delicious.
