Then they changed their mind and ask for different paperwork and notary. Then said they would waive notary if I paid cash. Then changed the paperwork requirement a 4th time. Worst tow company I have ever dealt with. Tow was a Range Rover road side assistance call. This company is contracted by Range Rover yet had no clue how to even jump the vehicle, and almost shorted the electrical system. Driver was extremely rude and unprofessional. He was about to drag my car up the flat bad which damages AWD vehicles, I had to call Road Side back and explain to them they were about to destroy my truck. An O'hare manager showed up with "skates", driver refused to use all 4 and still dragged my truck without skates on the front against my request not too. The dealership even commented on how rude the driver. When I went to pick up my vehicle, I found they had damaged ALL 4 of my wheels. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!! If you have a Road Side Assistance need, demand they do not send O'hare Towing, unless you want more problems. read more

When I was in an accident, this was the place the police called to have my vehicle towed to. Now, as I didn't have an auto body shop in mind at the time of the accident I didn't mind much. Until I had to deal with getting my car out. The tow from the street to the impound lot which was under 2 miles cost $150!!! I could understand this cost if the car were in a ditch etc, but a street pickup on a truck that still steers etc?!? Then it cost $40/day just to leave it parked on their lot! (I will give them that it was a well secured and monitored lot) Even though my car had not been impounded, it had just been in an accident I still had to pay the $150 fee up front before I could even see my vehicle. This is something I paid out of pocket even though my insurance should have covered it. (They have since reimbursed me but still) Before leaving, I discussed with their tow driver about whether or not the vehicle was able to be driven and we decided that a fan guard was rubbing/there was radiator damage and that running it would cause further damage. However two days later when it came time to transport the truck to the body shop what did they do? Start it up and allow potentially more damage to be done to my truck. DO NOT under any circumstances allow the police to call this place to tow your car, call AAA or push your car out of the way instead of calling this place. read more

This place did considerable damage to my vehicle when towing it. They have been evasive about answering complaints and even falsified a previous damage form to make it look like I had signed off on damage that didn't exist until the tow trick driver picked up my vehicle. Basically, the driver had no idea how to load my car onto the truck and upon the initial hook-up, my car (a Honda civic mind you) literally fell off the tow truck. As you can imagine his caused serious damage to the front of my vehicle The man also bent the two hook so out of whack that when I finally got to drive my vehicle it, the two hook was dragging on the street. The body shop worker said he'd never seen such damage. I've sent all documentation to Ohare towing so they can pay me for the damage they cause and - three weeks later - continue to hear nothing from them. Just awful. Never use. read more

Almost ran out of gas on 294N about 10 mins from their location. AAA gave them my location and said OHare Towing would be there within the hour. I explained I needed gas and didn't need a tow. An hour later I called AAA back. OHare Towing called me to say they'd be there in half an hour and I reluctantly said ok, but I just need gas. The operator said fine. The battery on my phone was running low and I couldn't charge it. The Towing company kept calling saying they we're 20 mins, 5 mins away. Then the driver called to ask where I was, despite telling AAA and the towing company. Bottom line, it took them 2 hours and they are only miles away. The guy showed up without gas!! He wanted me to turn my car on to drive it on the tow truck. I refused. He took me to get gas and was very nice, but told me they only told him about the request 5 mins before he got there. Basically their operator lied to me and AAA about their arrival time. Unbelievable. I don't recommend spending 2 hours on the side of the toll road or calling this shady operation. read more

This company lied to me several times and made me wait over an hour with the office closed when it was supposed to be open to get my car towed for a second time. I have posted this review several times and it keeps disapearing... September 13th 2008 I had a mid size bus sputter & die in the intersection of York & North Ave. Local police called O'Hare Towing. O'Hare sent out a small tow truck to move the vehicle around the corner onto a side street. Second heavy duty tow truck arrived fairly promptly. 5 hours....yes..... I said 5 hours later the tow truck driver finally got the vehicle hooked up. Claimed he had never towed a vehicle like this before. Stood there and watched him never thinking his lack of experience would be my billing problem. 3.8 mile tow $2005.00 including an 18% fuel gas surcharge. On Monday they faxed over a repair estimate of over $7000.00. After I got up off the floor I called and spoke to Doug. I questioned the double billing of $95.00 an hour charge for the mechanic & storage fee of $100.00 per day. How could they bill for storage when the mechanic was looking at it? He said he would have a manager call. Yeah you guessed it no one ever called. Even after repeated promises. Informed Doug that we could not afford to have them fix the fuel injector and would like it towed to our mechanic in Franklin Park. Well once they were not going to get the repair job things got even worse. They no longer would accept a credit card which they always had before from us it had to be cash or cashiers check. And they added on additional $400.00 for the local tow, less than 2 miles. I called another towing company to get it off of there lot. They said it would be around $125.00 but once they get onto O'Hares lot they usually jack them around and make them wait which could turn there bill into a $400.00 tow. Now they had us where they wanted. You have no choice but to pay there inflated bill just to get your vehicle out. So the long and short of it is. Don't let them hook up your vehicle. Have lived & learned the hard way! Too many other companies to choose from nobody needs this. read more

After being in an accident and being injured, AAA sent this towing service to take the car until insurance could get it to the service shop. The staff was unwilling to release vehicle to the service shop and is stating that I have to find a way to travel 45 min to their location to sign papers while being injured and without any car. Inconsiderate and not willing to fax paperwork or work with insurance company. Don't use when your car needs towing after an accident. read more

This is the worst service I have ever received from any company and it drove me to write my first review. For four days I have been trying to get a tow truck out to move my disabled car to the dealership. The first day they said it would be 12-24 hours before someone was able to make it. We had a bad snow storm so that was understandable. However, when no one showed up the next day, I called and they said they lost my order. Again, busy, ok, I understand, let's give them another try (my mistake!). We reschedule for the following morning, confirm call back info, etc. The third day, since no one called me with any status updates, I called the office and is informed that the driver was on his way to the car so we drive out to the lot to wait for him--an hour goes by and no truck and no call. I call the office: they were calling some random number that I never gave them and said the truck was there but no one answered the phone (we had been sitting next to the car all morning). I reschedule, informed that it will be another 4-5 hours (ridiculous since he was JUST HERE according to them). After 9 hours of waiting, no call no tow, I call and reschedule for the next morning. Confirm call info, etc, and estimated to be 9 AM. For some reason at 7 PM that night the driver calls and tells me he's there to tow my car. I tell him no, it was rescheduled for the next morning. (Shook my head in amazement at the ineptitude involved here). Next day, early morning I call the central office, confirm all info, call numbers, location, etc. again and am told it will be 11-12 before the truck is there. Noon rolls around and no call or tow truck. I call the office once again, and somehow they have LOST MY ORDER. Absolutely ridiculous. NEVER EVER use this company for towing. What kind of company claims to work with AAA only to call the customer in need of a tow to claim they do not work with AAA and offer a private tow for a ridiculous price. As part of a car emergency policy I have, this company was sent to check my battery when the car wouldn't start. They said it was fine, jump started the car and told me to leave it running 30min. I let it run 45. Just a few hours later I went to start my car and it was dead again. Luckily I got another company to tow it to a repair shop and they told me the battery was shot and should have been replaced. read more

The guy did not know how to put a car on the jack properly it jumped off 3 x and on the third time it punctured my car. And then when it was up on the jack he striped all the lug nuts and broke a wheel stud. DON"T USE THEM and if you are a member of any roadside assistance program and they are telling you that they are sending out OHare Towing request a new company. Literally the worst experience I've ever had with a towing service. They were expected to arrive anywhere from 4:30-6:15. We waited until ten to 7 so he was late that's one thing- he had no idea what he was doing. My boyfriend ended up doing more work then him. No damage done but I highly suggest taking before and after photos because the tow company will take after photos. He again was an hour late on bringing the bike home. Worst service experience I have ever had. I'd recommend any other tow service and if you do go though with O'Hare tow service, if a guy named Jose is your tower ask for another guy- you'd be better off waiting the extra 3 hours. read more

Got sent O'Hare through AAA after my husband's car had been in an accident. Through AAA we get a five mile tow for free. Great, the garage we want it towed to is 4.5 miles away. Driving behind my husband in the tow truck, they are in the lane to turn right, which is what mine (and his-according to my husband in the truck) says to do when all of the sudden he veers across two lanes of traffic and turns left. Husband says he kept driving in circles and when I see them finally drive up to the garage they are coming from the opposite direction and low and behold we owe him money because he drove over five miles. He has our car on his truck so there's not much leverage we have other than to pay. Shady, shady business and taking advantage of people in a vulnerable situation. Not at all satisfied. read more

I had a flat tire in Forest Park early this evening. Called AAA, they sent a towing outfit from Oakbrook Terrace that arrived an hour later. That driver complained about being called out, then after some fiddling with the tire, claimed he could not remove the tire because it was "rusted." He even threw the spare tire at it some five times, claiming he could not loosen it. This guy tells AAA to send a tow truck. Three (3!) hours later, we get help from a courteous and capable driver for O'Hare Towing, Justin. He was quick and capable. And guess what? The tire isn't rusted and Justin gets it removed and a spare put on within 15 minutes. His professional demeanor and capable work helped salve the aggravation of knowing this could have been handled by AAA's first responder. read more

Dispatch staff always very helpful evertime I have to call. I work with a compeating towing company. We can handle most of our business with our own trucks but in the event that a disabled vehicle that is called in to our facility that happens to be too big for our trucks we call O'Hare. They've always been able to assist with our needs. If I get in a jam it's them that I call. read more

I called AAA, and Edgar from O'Hare Towing was there within a half hour. He was efficient, friendly, and helpful. The company I work for based out of Taylor, MI had a tractor trailer in the area. It was needing fuel filters so I picked O'Hare Towing because of proximity to where my driver was picking up. They got our truck right in and immediately took the truck apart so we were a captive audience. Almost eight hours later we were finally getting back on the road. They charged us at least an hours labor @ $125.00/hr for locating the filters they needed. The service advisor Ryan told me they charged me for locating the filter(s). I have never got charged anywhere for locating parts for repairs--not to mention an in shop rate of $125.00/hr is pretty steep for a company that isn't a truck dealership. For those in the trucking business, we had over a $500 bill for replacing fuel filters on a 2010 Freightliner Cascadia. I feel my company was taken advantage of on this type of repair. read more

While at the last minute I was able to get my car started before the tow truck arrived, I want to share the excellent experience I had with O'Hare Towing Service nonetheless. We had just returned from a week trip and when we got to our car-parked in the Main Parking area at O'Hare although it was in Lot C an outdoor lot-we couldn't get it started. The Standard Parking folks were very helpful and did what they could. It turned out we were experiencing problems with the key fob. Luckily we did find replacement batteries at the sundries store in the basement of the Hilton, but it still didn't work. We called the Acura Roadside service, they sent a tow truck-who did contact us but after waiting for them for 2 hours they abandoned the job. That company sent a second driver, WHO DID THE SAME THING after 2 hours. They called a different company who gave a 1 hour ETA, which turned into 2.5 hours and when they got there they said they sent the wrong truck, they couldn't make the clearance limits at the parking lot. I called O'Hare Towing just expecting to privately pay and deal with Acura later-the first call the receptionist was very friendly, said they would have a truck there in 45 minutes and after discussing the issues with their team, agreed they needed to send out 2 trucks, one to meet the clearance and then a second for the tow to Acura. They knew exactly how to deal with the airport situation and were very professional. They were a few minutes away when after a lengthy discussion with a few service guys at the dealership we were able to start the car. I called them to cancel the trucks and they were so friendly and said no problem!! They were happy we resolved the issue and didn't charge us s for sending the 2 trucks. We didn't use the tow so I can't provide insight there but was so happy after all the poor service we got from the other towing companies they were so good to work with! read more
