What an absolute gem this place is! We came on Sunday for an early dinner and we loved every second of it!! 'O Munaciello is located in the MiMo district, and although parking is not very convenient, the place is worth it. The restaurant has a lovely decoration inspired by Naples's Spanish quarters. We were promptly seated and decided to order three pizzas: Capricciosa and the Margherita DOP. The pizzas are big enough for one person or even to share if you prefer that. The pizzas were delicious!!! You can tell the products are high quality! The dough was delicious! Soft, thin, and floppy center, a puffy, charred crust!!!! Love it! Honestly, it was the closest pizza I had tried in Miami which is close enough to a true Napoli pizza! Overall it was a great experience and I will definitely be back!

I visited 'O Munaciello, a Neapolitan pizza restaurant, for lunch. The place had plenty seating at afternoon. I ordered a calabrese pizza. The sauce and cheese were tasty, but the crust, while well-textured, was slightly burnt underneath, giving it a bitter, burnt flavor that ruined the experience. The daytime atmosphere wasn't welcoming--too quiet, no music, just the hum of sparse chatter. At night, it's different; they play Neapolitan songs that remind me of my dad, who's from Naples, creating a much better vibe. The service was quick but cold, not making me feel particularly welcome. For a restaurant ranked among the top 50 pizza places globally, this was disappointing. I might give it another shot, but my lunch visit left a bad taste.

Such a great spot in Miami for authentic Italian pizza! Our waiter was funny and helpful, guiding us in what to order from their very large and delicious menu. The Las Vegas pizza was delicious! Toppings were perfect and the crust was thin yet crunchy and doughy. I will say their prices are a bit higher than I'd like for pizza (around $20ish x a 12 inch pizza) Ambiance is chill and homey.

The food is consistently great every time. The staff is attentive, polite, friendly and the service is always good. It's busy on weekends (we always make a reservation) and have never had a problem. Love this place. The ambiance is cozy. The inside is not too loud even when busy and when the weather is right the outside is just as nice. It's also pup friendly inside and out.

Fantastico. They have a sister restaurant in Florence (italy). The pizza is divine as are a few other of their dishes. You can always get a table...the ambiance is a little wierd and they have the same multicolored chairs as well as the hanging angels (not sure what they are, perhaps a Munaciello? see below) in their Florence restuarant. Delic bread, great wine, fab pasta dishes, you really cant go wrong. Very much recommend. And its true re Roula H said, there are always Italians or guests speaking Italian when we go. They also dont rush you and the salad sizes are generous. The Munaciello is a mischievous sprite or fairy from Neapolitan folklore, a figure from Naples, Italy, whose name means "little monk" in the local dialect

Lovely place. They have a 20 inch pizza where you can select 3 toppings for $55. We were a group of 6 ladies and ordered 2 pizzas. Plenty to go around and less than $25 per person! Service was very nice. Seems most everyone working there is Italian! And we got a delish dessert of fried pizza dough with Nutella to end the night. We were all wanting to lick the plate. Will be back!

We decided to stop by on a Sunday for pizza. It was very crowded but we got a table right away. It took a while for the server to come over and once he did, we gave him our order which was the Maradona and the Vesuvio pizzas. We also got a beer and glass of wine. While we were waiting the place got more crowded so we knew we picked a good place. After 10 minutes we realized that the server forgot our drinks so we had to waive him down. He just smiled and went to go get them but then forgot the wine. He placed the beer and ran off lol so we had to flag him down again for the wine. He smiled again but did not apologize for missing the beer and wine which was odd. Then the pizza came which was the saving grace of the night. The pizza was fantastic, chewy crust and fresh toppings. The Maradona was our favorite out of the two. We will give it another shot but the service was lacking.

This place never fails and is absolutely amazing!!! I happened to find this place by accident because I was just leaving a tattoo session (SKN Tattoo) and I needed to eat!!! so I ordered the octopus dish and every time I have ordered this dish it's mesmerizing and delicious, I ordered the octopus dish and a glass of wine, and I read my book while music plays in the background and people with families come in, single people come in, a couple comes in, old people come in and it feels so family. The staff is very welcoming and friendly oriented and polite with the service. Not only that but the decor inside and out makes it feel like the staff took a little piece of their home and incorporated it into the restaurant so it feels more authentic. I recommended this place to at least a couple people every time I come in.

This is where Italians come to eat! Great neighborhood spot with my favorite pizza. Service is friendly, they make you feel like family. It's joyous inside, makes you happy. The cold Peroni on draft is so refreshing! Now on to the good stuff: my favorite is the Troisi pizza on black crust (delicious): it has porcini mushrooms, basil, smoked buffalo cheese topped with fresh shaved truffle.. just melts in your mouth. Highly recommend!

Pretty awful lunch experience. When I asked the server about the cod dish shown online, she brought me the dessert menu and showed me a Nutella pizza option. We shared an $18 dollar Caesar salad that was very small with a few pieces of romaine lettuce in it, what a rip. When the server brought over our sharing plates, she held them against her shirt, gross. She also removed plates before asking if we were finished. It was uncomfortably hot in there to the point of sweat. Too bad, because it has potential to be a pretty decent neighborhood spot. I don't recommend this place. read more

This restaurant is perfect. The food is amazing. If you're looking for an Italian meal within the US, this is it. The staff is friendly. Park on the side street on the curb, or if there's spaces, in the tiny left lot on 64th. Ps... no, the pizza is not cut into 8 slices as per big name national chains. Yes, it's a little burnt. The owner is from Naples. Deal with it or go to the red hut down the street. read more

They are open during covid. Food was very good but the tables were not very spaced out, the waiter's mask was below his nose and the chef's face mask was around his neck for the entire meal. I would not return for safety reasons read more

The first thing that stood out here was the quality of the food. it's certainly a cut above just about every Italian restaurant out there that I have tried recently. One thing that was surprising was carbon in some food products. I discovered it when bread that had a black colour was brought out as an appetizer. I thought it was squid ink but it's not. Portions here are just right and each and every item ordered had outstanding flavour. Charging $4 per can of soda was a turn off. Service was very good. If you want to try authentic, different and certainly out of the usual this is the place. Desserts were exceptional. They have an extensive pizza menu which i didn't try but it seems to be the talk of the town. The restaurant is decorated nicely and there is outside seating. Restrooms were super clean. People may complain about the food pricing being a bit high but you really do get what you pay for here. Even the olive oil had an impressive taste to it. If you venture out to this part of Miami, make sure this is part of the trip. read more

We have been waiting for some time to try 'O Munaciello... so after a trip to Italy and plenty of foodie activities, we decided that we did not have enough of Italy (as if one can ever have enough of Italy!) And did we find it in this restaurant! It was like being back - but not to those high-end touristy restaurants in Rome; it was like being back to the truly Italian eateries that one finds in the local neighborhoods. True, honest to goodness food that warms your heart and soul! The Margherita pizza is indeed a delight and deserves all the allocates 'O Munaciello has received, bravo! (ask for a portion of top quality anchovies to go with the pizza, pure bliss!) But this place goes much further then pizza - the Cacio e Pepe was superb and deliciously spicy, the Tagliatelle al Ragu was wonderful and the rare tuna steak (Tonno in Crosta) was spectacular! The wine choices were great and the desserts excellent - we had amazing grilled pineapple slice under vanilla extra creamy ice cream with eatable flowers and Tiramisu... this one sounds pedestrian but you will come to appreciate the real thing once you try it. The team and owner were welcoming and appreciative of us being there and they only contribute to the amazing and real Italian atmosphere. So, go to Italy for lunch and/or dinner minus the airport hassle and expense! read more

My husband and I have been wanting to try this place for a while now after hearing raving reviews from multiple people. WOW! We shared the tagliatelle pasta and the Maradona pizza and both were incredible!!! The pizza dough was perfect and the burrata on top was perfect. The pasta was really fresh, simple, and delicious. To end the meal we shared the tiramisu which was equally amazing. Can't wait to go back and try more things read more

Ethereal is the word that comes to mind when taking that first bite out of a porcine mushroom, fresh shaved black truffles and smoked buffalo mozzarella on the most incredibly chewy black charcoal crust. It's genius to my tastebuds. I ve also had the eggplant and tomato pizza, again on black crust...it was a revelation. So simply excellent. There's a lot more than pizza on the menu, all sounds good, but being from the 212, pizza is my passion. And I'm passionate about this pizza. read more

THIS PLACE WAS DELICIOUS!!!! so many pizzas to choose from and the texture of the tiramisu was phenomenal. Fresh ingredients is a must and this place has every detail of there food down perfectly. My Sicilian parents came to visit and we tried several Pizzerie. The restaurant is close to a bad neighborhood and when we were sitting at the table a homeless came asking for money, which is obviously not the restaurants fault but something to consider about the location. The ambiance inside was ok, but we chose to sit outside because of the loud live music inside the restaurant. The crust was ok, but overall the pizza tasted chewy. I would not recommend this restaurant nor will I be returning. read more

The service was very detailed and the food was superb. It was our first visit and first time trying black dough made from vegetable ash. The troisi pizza was everything I imagined it to taste like. This is one of my favorite combinations for a pizza or pasta. We also had the mussels with black pepper which was perfect because the flavors did not overpower the natural taste of the mussels. Overall we had a delightful experience and we will definitely return to try more dishes. read more

Drove past this new restaurant a few weeks ago so brought the family to try it. Wow! From the crisp light glass of Pino Grigio to the perfectly baked thin-crust pizza--everything was great. Would recommend the side dish of grilled vegetables too. Everything fresh and prepared perfectly. Staff was friendly and attentive. Nice to have this gem in the neighborhood. read more

Recreating and interpreting traditional Neapolitan dishes, 'O Munaciello is a full-menu restaurant and pizzeria that is considered one of the most celebrated restaurants in Florence, Italy. 'O Munaciello uses local produce and fine imported goods to create dishes found nowhere else in the South Florida region. Its pizzas are even baked in a made-to-measure handmade brick oven, imported from Naples, Italy.

History

Established in 2017.

Welcom to 'O Munaciello, a typical Neapolitan Restaurant and Pizzeria from Florence, Italy, opening it's second location in Miami. Life-sized and small figurines embellish the rooms of the former convent occupied by 'O Munaciello in Florence, and we are bringing the same artisanal artworks to our Miami location. The materials used by hand-made artists have been the same for hundreds of years include terracotta, wood and the famous silks of San Leucio in Caserta. 'O Munaciello is designed to transport guests directly to Italy. Our chefs have been tasked with recreating traditional Neapolitan dishes with a modern twist. We only use local produce and fine imported meats and cheeses. Our made-to-measure handmade brick oven has been imported from Naples to create dishes that can't be found anywhere else in South Florida. The art of Neapolitan porcelain/terra-cotta is best know by the works of the artisanal craftsmen of Sciu Scia' e Maestro Ferrigno. These materials have not changed in 150.

Overall, I think I need to try it again, maybe on those Monday Chef curated nights and see if they are more extraordinary.

Almost Perfect: Miami's 'O Munaciello Delights with Few Minor Hiccups! On my never-ending quest for the best pizzas in the USA, a trusted friend's list led me to 'O Munaciello in Miami. Visiting around 5:30pm, the serene ambiance initially gave the impression of the pizzeria being closed. However, it wasn't long before the place started buzzing. The Aperol Spritz I ordered was crafted to perfection, setting the stage for the delectable Parmigiana di Melanzane appetizer that followed. When it was time for a beer, the draft Peroni, cold and served in a pristine glass, did not disappoint. Pizza time saw me venture into two types: the house specialty, Troisi, and another with meatballs, the name of which eludes me. While the latter was good, it paled in comparison to the Troisi's exquisite medley of flavors. The overall vibe was laid-back and casual, perfectly suited for a leisurely meal. Leftovers were promptly packed for us, and a noteworthy mention for parents: the facility offers a changing table, which came in handy with my baby. However, perfection is a journey. With a small hiccup in one of the pizzas, I'd give 'O Munaciello 4 out of 5 stars. Been to different places lately and Jerry and Joe's Pizza is just the best one that remains to my mind. I would love to come here everyday because the staff were so amazing, they know how appease their customers. This place has an amazing interior. The ambiance was great but the service was ok. I once visited this place and it was really pleasant. The food was delicious and they have amazing pizza. The napoli pizza was so great and very tasty. They only take delivery now as we are now facing this pandemic disease. I was craving pizza and they send good pizza. read more

Excellent experience ordering here. The food arrived on time and still hot. I know they have some amazing gourmet pizzas, but being my first time ordering here I went for the safe bet, Margherita and Tiramisu. The food was delicious and nicely presented, you can tell they use premium ingredients and this is what makes the difference. read more

Pretty decent gluten free crust. Not the best I've ever had, but good enough for me to finish even the crust. Thought the striachetella would be more cheesy. Also their "original" Margherita does not come with d.o.c. Mozzarella cheese like it states in the menu. read more
