Someone hit my car and drove away a while ago, and while it is never a good time for a rental car, I finally coordinated the repair and rental car after exhausting conversations with my awful insurance company. The easiest part was knowing that I would return to O'Reilly's for the work to be done, and did not even think of going anywhere else. Supply chain delays have really slowed things down for them, but Dustin kept me in the loop of everything that was happening and when I finally did pick up my car, my 14 year old Volvo looked fabulous.... and was sparkling clean inside AND out! They have always been busy, but they do have more cars in progress now due to the situation of getting parts in (as well as people keeping their cars for longer than in the past); be patient, and you will see the miracles performed on your car! read more

Watch out for these guys. Get everything in writing before you agree to any work or set an appointment. I had an experience with them to do a small repair job on the rear quarter panel. Bernie, who said he was in the business for 30 years, looked at the job and said it would be about $1500. That was a fair price. On the day I arrived, he looked at it again and wanted $2100, claiming additional costs. Both myself and my friend were part of the original conversation and challenged him on his higher estimate. He became very aggressive and agitated. We took our business to A-Z auto on Comm ave. in Brighton, MA - and they gave us the right price - about $1500. O'Reillys had good recommendations here and elsewhere so I was surprised by my experience but just be a better customer - never trust even the nicest people. Get it ALL in writing. read more

I had some cosmetic damage and when I first dropped off my car two weeks ago the lot was so packed you could barely get into the front door. They were busy to say the least. I imagined my car wouldn't be fixed for a while, but the turn around time was INSANE. Given the fact that COVID has slowed distribution of everything and their lot was packed... OReilly took my car in two days after a fender bender in the garage trying to avoid the snowblower my neighbor left between our cars. They popped the bumper back in, repainted touch up and only charged me paint costs. This was incredibly generous when I expected a thousand dollar repair. They had previously done a professional and reasonably priced repair on this car so the bump was so frustrating. Had my car fixed here after an accident. They broke the lug nut lock key off on the tire and left it there. Now the key is broken and the half that broke off is still on the tire, the same tire that they worked on from the accident. They Didn't even tell me. I spoke to them and they said it wasn't them. Only problem is the last person to touch the car was the dealership where when I bought it. A high end one at that. Two stars because they were atleast nice in the phone and offered to fix it but I was all set with going Back there. What an absolute pain this turned into. read more

Since Boston drivers tend to drive like they're being chased, I've had the opportunity to experience O'Reilly's autobody shop, originally recommended by my fabulous (friendly, efficient, & moderately-priced) insurance company, Liberty Mutual. Twice, I've been hit while parked (once in street parking and once in a lot), and one time, I was hit - twice! - while stopped at a light. They guy who hit me said - about his automobile, "Sometimes it just doesn't stop." !!! ;) So, I've had a real opportunity, shall we say, to experience O'Reilly's quality of care and serve. Bernie is usually the guy I talk to. He manages all the customer service, oversees the repairs, and remembers - I don't know how - who everyone is who walks in and which car they have. He's personable as well as efficient. He also handles the connection between O'Reilly's and the Enterprise Car Rental, which is just a block away (really convenient) and my insurance company. After dropping off my car, I just walk down and my rental car is all set to go at Enterprise. It's awesome! As for the repairs, O'Reilly's pays detailed attention to each car, and each time, my car has come back cleaned, with floor covers that say, "We take pride in your car," -- which I completely believe. Each time, my car has come back looking like new. If stay in Boston any longer, my car is going to turn into a cat - (with 9 lives)! And, O'Reilly's has EVERTHING to do with it! read more

Someone backed into my car in a parking lot, crunch. Went through insurance who listed O'reilly's as a preferred repair spot. Since I live in Watertown I gave them a call. I stopped by so they could see the car and give an estimate of how long it would take. Dropped it off on a Monday morning and had it back Thursday afternoon. Looked just like new! My insurance had already sent me a check based on the initial estimate however as always it cost much more. All I owed was the initial assessment or exactly the amount of the check my insurance gave me. They deal directly with the insurance company for any additional charges so I didn't have to do a thing. The guys were excellent to deal with, worked quickly and honestly, you would never know I had been in an accident. So that's what they did for the outside of my car. What I wasn't expecting was an inside that looked practically new as well. I have a very large dog (part Husky) with an undercoat that he blows 365 days a year. My carpets were embedded with dog hair. My intention was to pick up my car and head to the car wash and start vacuuming. To my surprise and delight the inside of my car was spotless. I had to search high and low to even find a dog hair. I don't know who was in charge of cleaning my car but thank you! Oh, and one more thing. I hadn't even thought of this before dropping off my car but I have a compartment with coins and some singles that I keep for tolls. Not a penny was removed, everything exactly how I left it, only cleaner! (Can't tell you how many times I've been looted by valet and parking lot attendants where you have to leave keys.) How refreshing! I know this sounds like a ridiculously glowing review but I've never been here before and only went because they were the closest auto body shop on the list provided by my insurance. I would recommend them to anyone. I hope I don't ever need body work again but if I do this is the place I'll bring it. read more

I had some fender damage when my car was hit from the side. I went to the auto dealer and got an estimate to repair it around $3000. That seamed rediculous to me for the amounnt of damage that had occurred. A friend told me about this place and that they did really good quality work and were very reasonable with pricing. The man was super helpful and expalained that he could repair (instead of replace) the fender and the cost would be 1/4 of what I was quoted at the dealers body shop and fixed in half the time. So I gave them a shot and was absolutely thrilled. The bumper looked good as new and you could not ever tell that there had been a dent. The service was great and I appreciated them treating me with respect and honesty. read more

Updated Review: I received my car back Wednesday night. Bernie was so welcoming and brought me right over to my car to show me the work while explaining what had to be done. I cannot believe how nice the new pieces look, its as if it never happened! The car looks seamless and phenomenal. As I stated below...I HIGHLY recommend Oreilly's! This is my initial review based solely on customer service. I have used Oreilly's before when I was rearended about a year ago. It was not a ton of damage but they made the process of getting it fixed easy, smooth and painless. Bernie and his team are hands down, AMAZING. I am back this past month due to another accident - clearly what happens when you pay off your car! - and again, Bernie and his team were the BEST. I just picked up my car from O'reilly's. I went here based on the other Yelp reviews and I was not disappointed. I had 2 claims on my car which made things take longer anyway. There was a little miscommunication as to how long it would take due to Christmas and everything. I don't have rental insurance so I was paying out of pocket. The people at O'reillys went above and beyond to help me minimize my rental car. I can't even tell you how surprised I was when they called me this morning and told me my car would be ready today. I thought I was going to have to wait until Thursday. I can't tell you enough how great these guys are. Like all of the other reviews my car is spotless and drives like the day I bought it. After clearing off my car this morning I went to turn on the wipers and the drivers side wiper popped right off. A piece holding the blade to the arm broke, sending the blade flying. I'm not that automotively inclined and didn't know if the piece that broke was part of the wiper or part of the arm. I was able to piece the broken bits together enough to get to work but with New England weather I knew this needed to be fixed ASAP. My initial thought was to call the dealer but my coworker suggested I contact O'Reilly's in Watertown first. I gave them a call, spoke to a very helpful gentleman named Matthew who suggested I bring the car down and have him take a look at it. That was all I needed to do. Once Matthew got a look at what the problem was he was able to explain to me what happened and get the part installed and my wipers up and running in no time. I was in an accident where I was not at fault, which resulted in damage to my rear bumper and wheel well. These guys did beautiful work - looks brand new and paint matched perfectly - and dealt with the insurance company completely once I dropped it off. Only complaints I have are I never saw a breakdown of the work that was done (but I also never asked), and it took two full weeks, during which time I didn't get any updates on when it was expected to be done. I would definitely recommend them though, just be proactive about asking about the work that's being done and when it will be done. read more

So let me preface this by saying that this is not sour grapes. I have given this shop several chances to improve my opinion of them. This is actually my 3rd time taking a car here. The first time, the shop was not so busy & my car came back better than it was before the accident. The second time I brought my car to O'Reilly's, I may have taken for granted that the service was going to be the same as it was before. That time, my car came back in acceptable condition, not great. The paint was pebbled and functionally the car was never the same as it was before the accident. I decided to give the shop my business one last time as I had run into the owner once outside the shop & he seemed sincerely concerned about whether or not he had done a good job with my cars previously. This time the shop was really busy & could not do an estimate for several days. When I dropped off my car, there was very little room for answering questions. The staff was polite, but had clearly heard it all before & pretty much anticipated everything I would want to ask. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it is not great customer service to rush clients off/not allow them to ask questions either. That was the last I heard from the shop until several weeks later when I got a call that my car was ready for pick-up & that I needed to bring my deductible in as either cash or check. When I saw the car I noticed a small crack in the brand new bumper that had been installed. While this was a small imperfection, the entire repair was close to $4K and the damage was in plain sight. I brought the issue to Bernie's attention & he offered to have me come in for a touch up in a few weeks. In the interim, a friend pointed out yet another crack in the same bumper right near the other one. I assumed everything would be fixed when I brought the car back. Needless to say, it wasn't.. The shop painted over the area which I had pointed out before, but did not address the other crack. When I picked the car up, Bernie was immediately on the defensive explaining how the bump on the area that was just painted was identical to how bumpers come from the factory. I pointed towards the other crack, the one that had not been fixed. Bernie said nothing and volunteered no explanation. At that point, I had had enough. Bernie is a nice enough guy and, to his credit, he did just what he he said he would - no more, no less. I am a busy person and it is a huge waste of my time to take off of work in order to come back and get something fixed. While minor, the cracks in the paint should have been found and fixed before the shop told me my car was ready. I also have very little confidence in the quality/longevity of the other repairs that were made to my car. On the positive side, the shop details your car both inside and out before they return it to you. A nice touch, but based on the quality of the workmanship that I have observed, I'd highly recommend taking your car elsewhere. ***Update*** The bumper that was replaced by O'Reilly's started coming undone, as did some of the paint on the hood. I had the car re-inspected by my insurance company and they are covering repair (elsewhere). It turns out that an aftermarket bumper was used. Apparently State law requires shops to attempt to use aftermarket parts on vehicles of a certain age (mine's a '05). However, this bumper clearly did not fit and should not have been used. O'Reilly's attempted to "squeeze" the aftermarket bumper on anyway and the hood, undercarriage, and bumper components have given way under the stress. I really wish that Bernie O'Reilly and his shop had done the right thing and used an OEM bumper. Now I need to be without my car for another month as everything needs to be repaired again. I forgot that I had previously reviewed this place, but I have to give them another shout-out. Our Honda was vandalized, so off to O'Reilly's, of course. This time they were even more awesome. They do the contracted work and then some. We had some body blemishes, dents, etc. that were not covered for this visit, but they cleaned them up so that they are barely noticeable. They returned it cleaner than it's been since we got it. They did not over- or underestimate the amount of time they would have it, and could not be nicer when you call, and they carefully explained everything they did and did not do. When a fire truck destroyed the left side of my car, my insurance agent suggested that I take it to O'Reilly's because he had seen their excellent work. I did and was completely blown away. Bernie was in touch with me every couple of days to give me updates on their progress; he dealt with the insurance company on my behalf; arranged for a rental car so that I didn't have to waste time doing that myself. My car was finished in less time than I expected and the work was beautiful. No one would ever know that it had been in a collision with an 80,000 pound truck, and they had even detailed the inside of the car. I feel as though I'm driving a brand new vehicle. read more
