The one I selected from what came up on my screen had to be ordered and when it arrived, I realized it wasn't what I wanted because it was solid metal, instead of the usual material I've seen. I think these things used to be asbestos, like brake pads. I thought I would install the metal one anyway, then decided I better not. Found a list on rock auto and was able to identify a manufacturer and part number. When I called my local O'Reilly, they did not have it but quickly suggested the Del Paso store, where their inventory showed one in stock. I've never been to this store and it is easily twice the size of my local store. I believe they had five or six clerks behind the counters when I walked in. All were helping customers, with one person in line. I had a 10 minute wait. But the youngster who called me over to the counter was a stand up comedian. Or could be, if he kept his day job. He immediately questioned the veracity of what my local guys told me, "What do they know?" And followed that up with numerous comedic observations. They did indeed have the part and that kids demeanor made the entire interaction enjoyable. If my local store wasn't so good and usually stocked with what I need, I might consider going the extra few miles to the Del Paso location. I got the packing ring installed and the job done before the Superbowl ended. Win-win!

    Del Paso Dismantlers are VERY dishonest! When they opened…read morethey assured me that the two doors for a 2014 VW Jetta were the correct doors. I compared the doors and they looked similar. I asked Del Paso Dismantlers were they sure and they assured me these were my doors. My gut was not sure since the guy did NOT show me the hinges and removed them altogether without seeing them. I take the doors to my mechanic and he informed me that the doors have different hinges! They will not fit! I ask Del Paso Dismantlers about the hinges that were removed. They said it was a different part sold separately, which he never mentioned and did not even match. They never had the correct door and hinges. I could have used my old hinges although they were not a match for the doors bought. I couldn't even get an exchange! Long story short! Del Paso Dismantlers complained about how much money they invested in their yard and were strapped for cash! They WILL say anything to sell anything! Even if they know that is not your correct part or if it works! I asked for a refund of 300.00 which they refused! Even with receipt and next day return. I could not even get an exchange of parts! As I walked out, another lady and her husband were returning an engine that did not work! I said, "Good Luck" and sure enough he said, 'No REFUNDS '! Even if the parts do not work or wrong parts sold! The tall Asian looking Afghanistan is a CROOK because he purposely did not show me the hinges because he knows I would have said , "those are NOT a match and will not fit" The other owner ( shorter chubby Afghanistan ) is a RUTHLESS salesman. He was nice before buying but when I informed him of the incorrect doors and missing hinges and asked for a refund or correct replacement he just became another person. He was RUDE, unethical and unprofessional. I thought WOW what people do for MONEY! I figured they saw the opportunity to scam an older lady and not correct a wrong! Someone picks up. They said open at 9 am....Okay. This was 9:15 am. Oh yeah. They sell bad faulty parts from stolen cars.

They do free check engine light checks and they let you know kind of what is wrong. They're not a whole mechanic obviously but it's a great way to kind of get an idea of where you do need to go.

He informed me that it was not in stock. After that, I began walking through the store to look for antifreeze coolant and possibly other items, as there are many products available for purchase. At that point, Manny began yelling at me, repeatedly stating, "It's not over there." I calmly explained that I was not looking for the cabin filter and that I was browsing other items in the store. Despite this, he continued raising his voice and repeating himself. When I tried to clarify again, he responded by saying, "You must be dumb, because it's not over there." Being spoken to in that manner is completely disrespectful and unprofessional--especially from someone in a management position. I believe this behavior should be reviewed on the store's camera footage, as it is all recorded. No customer should be treated this way. I respectfully request that this matter be addressed appropriately. This type of conduct does not reflect the level of professionalism customers expect.
