I'm a big fan of convenience. If you can combine convenience with a great service then you have a…read moregreat place. I feel that is what I found at O'Reilly. And their commercial has a catchy song. Good luck getting that out of my head now that I said it. Anyhow I needed to get some new wipers for my car as my current wipers were not working as good as they used to. I also needed to get some cleaning supplies to clean the interior of my car. In the past I have usually picked up these supplies at any number of big box stores. Then I thought to myself, there is an O'Reilly close to my office, I should check them out. I stopped in one morning and was greeted as I walked in and asked if I needed any help. I explained that I was looking for some wipers and some cleaning supplies. The gentleman walked out to help me and asked if the wipers were for my Toyota. While I was surprised, I was equally impressed that he recognized the type of car I had when I pulled up. I usually like to get Rain-x wipers. They are more expensive but work much better. The good news is I noticed they had a sale going on for $8.00 off a set of wipers. The bad news is they were out of a number of sizes including the size I needed. Without hesitation this gentleman offered me a different set that he explained were as good if not better than the Rain-x. While I thought for a quick moment he proceeded to tell me he would match the sale price for these other wipers. Sold! That's a great deal! He then showed me their cleaning supplies and what he recommended. This was about as good of an experience as you can have. From my receipt the gentleman that helped me is named Mike. I'll definitely be back to O'Reilly whenever I need anything for my car.

Let me preface this by saying I work in customer service for many years. I don't expect perfection…read moreor do I think I'm perfect in anyway. Starting with the fact that that day my email client on my phone was not updating because I had done a password change and forgotten about that. What I experienced at two different O'Reilly's in West Saint Paul was the most terrible customer service that really words can't describe how standoffish how absolutely unwilling these workers were to help me retrieve an alternator thatI had ordered online from oreillys.com. I first went to the O'Reillys I had thought I had ordered the alternator to. When I came in the first time there were three customers waiting in line not including me. Two o'Reilly workers were helping one person, I thought I'll wait it'll be quick. These two guys sat and talked with this customer for 25 minutes not even once acknowledging that there are now seven people waiting in line. not once So I left and I returned maybe an hour and a half later about 40 minutes before they closed. I told the first employee that I had ordered an alternator and he looked at me Rolled his eyes, and says "whats your phone number"? I told him my name and gave him my number any indefinitely turns the screen towards me it says "your number is not on the screen it's not at this O'Reillys" Then asks " do you have a confirmation number" I open my email and I can't find it. Because my email wasn't there and I wasn't aware that I had to update the password. So I couldn't find it and I was kind Obviously confused but very apologetic at the same time but I couldn't find the confirmation number and I said "I might've ordered it to the O'Reillys up Robert street" Admitting that this might be my mistake. His reply is , "Yeah, if we don't have your number it's not here". I say " I'm so sorry but is there any way you could check or call the other Reilly's? " His reply is "well it's just up the road" Nice...I Apologize for wasting his time and head up the road Walk in and I say hello first the employee does look at me and replies " what do you need " . I explained my situation "Where is your confirmation number"? "And where did you order it" I replied " I don't seem to have that number , but I do have the the receipt on my credit card" I show him the charge on my card on my phone. Then the big tough guy manager comes in. I'm not a sensitive person nor am I an combative or paranoid. And I have 30 years experience in martial arts and conflict crisis resolution. This "manager" was instantly combative . Even as I was apologizing for what I thought was my mistake. Treated me like I was stupid. How there was no way that I ordered it if I had no confirmation number. Even though I was showing him proof that I had definitely paid 200$ from oreillys.com. I asked him if he could help me locate where this part was so I can go pick it up. And he said there was nothing he could do that all O'Reilly's are different and there's no centralized way to help locate a part. So I asked the customer service manager to help me and ,he said no... nothing he can do and "nothing i will do" he said. This man started our conversation as though I was already going to argue with him and I never did once I was apologeticI because I thought maybe I did order this part wrong and I did screw up and where it went.

I walk in and he asks if I need a headlight and there was already an associate looking for the correct headlight. He found it for me and shared the benefits of the type of bulb I needed with some humor to boot. Another associate took the old bulb out and put a new one in! I am so impressed and very grateful for their help!

The customer service leaves a lot to be desired…read more I've been here three times. I don't know what it is about this location, they just can't figure out the basics to helping out your customers. First trip: Needed a new battery. Brought in the dead battery and gave them the info for my vehicle. They looked it up on their computers and said that they had two batteries that would work for it. There was a $20 price difference in the two batteries and I asked why that was. His response was that they were different batteries. I kind of stared at him for a second and realized that he had no clue so I just paid the extra $20 and hoped that the extra cost translated into a higher quality battery. I asked him if they were giving me a credit for the dead battery I was leaving behind and his reply was "don't worry we'll recycle it." I didn't make a fuss because in the end I didn't need the credit or anything, but its annoying when someone answers a question you didn't ask... Second trip: Wanted some velvet washers for my dad's truck battery. The guy found them and grabbed them for me. Super quick in and out, good service. Third trip: Went in for a funnel. The selection was in the back corner. I went in looked at a few and then grabbed one and headed to the front to ring out. There were two older gentleman working the front. They were conversing with a customer about how best to address his car issue. I didn't want to be rude and interrupt so I went in line behind this guy and waited. Both employees saw me standing there. They continued talking for another 5 minutes, at which point I held the funnel up in the air to signal that I needed to pay and leave. I'm medium height, they both saw me and...still nothing. In walks a lady that needs help finding something, one of the two guys breaks from the conversation about cars and starts answering her questions. She then asks him to look things up for her and he starts. I simply was astonished by this guy; doesn't want to help out someone what wants to pay and leave but will jump at the shot to hit on a female customer. I gently tossed the funnel onto some boxes by where I was standing and left. Not wasting my money here. Took me 2 minutes to find the funnel and waited in line for 8 minutes. Inexcusable.
