Clarendon Irish pub with a divey feel. Live music and more of a late night crowd. Fish and chips was a good portion size. It had a nice crunch. Fries were average. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Good place to grab a beer.

As a die hard Steelers fan, I love a place where I can watch a game and sit in agony for three hours while the Steelers woefully underperform. And O'Sullivan's is the perfect place to do it! This restaurant makes a real effort to make yinzers feel at home. The food specials are good, the wait staff is awesome, and the ambiance is so much fun. I liked the Primanti sandwich (although nothing compares to the original iykyk) and the pretzels rocked too. Hope to catch a win next time but I probably won't lol go Steelers

Met some friends for a post work dinner. Was happy to see we made it right before hh ended. They offered a few $7 food specials which we took advantage of by getting: beef sliders, buffalo chicken dip and fish tacos. Everything was very tasty and really filling. Staff was nice and it was a great seating arrangement outside.

My family went here for the Steeler-Bengals game on Saturday. This place was full of Steeler fans! It is very loud but the atmosphere and the food is outstanding. The wings are delicious-very crispy. I split the Reuben sandwich with my mom and it was super tasty. My boyfriend got the Guinness burger which is a beef patty atop mashed potatoes slathered in their Guinness gravy which is phenomenal. I asked for a side of it to dip my fries in. We got the IC Light bucket that was on special - 5 beers for $20. The bloody Mary's are quite good too. We will be back again for a Steelers game. Our waitress, Olive, was excellent-she is actually Irish too!

I went for the hot old Fashioned and my boyfriend stuck with the traditional hot toddy. The drinks were decent, a bit pricy ($15 each) especially with other bars in the area offering hot drinks. However the service was great, we grabbed to seats at the bar and there were tons of regulars, which is always great for newbies like us! I did enjoy the atmosphere and would definitely come back for their food options!

Slow but friendly service, however I cannot deny the size of the fish and chips that I was served. Old-time club feel and good amount of TVs for watching sports.

The food here is amazing and great selection of beers and the coffee and espresso drinks will keep you up. My friend loves their fish and chips and you can share it with a friend as it is huge. I love the lamb sliders and shepherds pie. The guiness meatballs were hard and I would skip them and order fish tacos instead.

The drinks are a good price and they stock classic British pub favourites from Magners Apple on tap to a large variety of Irish whiskey. The food is very reminiscent of british pub food. The fish a chips are good considering they don't have the typical British chippy oil. We also had the batter sausages. Of course nothing will compare to English chippy battered sausages in size and taste but these one were still good and reminded me of home! The servers were wonderful and kind! The atmosphere was very similar to a typical British pub. My husband and I really enjoyed ourselves! If you're a long way from home, this place will make you feel like you're back at your local pub!

Not special, but reliable, with something on the menu to please anybody. It's not our first choice for food (this isn't exactly a chef-driven restaurant), but if you like Irish fare, they do a respectable job with all of that: corned beef, bangers & mash, lamb, fish & chips, etc., plus burgers and "bar food"-level salads and the like. Samuel Beckett's deserves extra points for NOT raising prices to the same degree as some of its Shirlington neighbors. For a table service restaurant these days, it's a greater value than it's ever been, and that's much appreciated.

We shared the Irish baked brie. This was tasty but definitely could have been warmer. I had the Lamb Stew as my entree. It was just OK. I prefer a creamier sauce, and the lamb wasn't as tender as I expected. The Irish brown bread (thin slice) that accompanied it was tasty, but the butter was not Kerrygold as the menu states. I'll select a different entree if I return. My friend had Shepherd's Pie which she enjoyed. She also ordered the bread pudding. I had a bit but it was too sweet for me. We did enjoy the ice cream that came with. Karlen, our waiter was attentive, and offered to split the cost of our appetizer. Much appreciated!

I ordered the corned beef and cabbage on DoorDash, fully expecting the usual takeout roulette: soggy cabbage, tired meat, and a mild sense of regret. Instead? I got hit with a full-on Irish blessing disguised as dinner. The corned beef was so tender it practically whispered "top of the mornin'" and fell apart on command. No knife, no effort--just fork, bite, and immediate life improvement. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked like someone back there has ancestral pride on the line. And the cabbage? Listen... cabbage is usually just there for emotional support. Not this time. This cabbage had purpose. This cabbage had ambition. By the end, I wasn't "finishing my meal"--I was chasing the last bites like I'd just spotted the end of a rainbow. Container: empty. Dignity: questionable. Satisfaction: unmatched. If this is what survives a DoorDash trip through Old Town, I'm convinced eating it fresh in the pub might unlock hidden Irish heritage I didn't even know I had.

So I'll break this review down into sections to make it easy for if you want to read this and…read moredecide if you want to go here. Section 1.) Food was bar food, over priced and nasty, the popcorn chicken was probably the best thing because it tasted like the same popcorn chicken I buy from Sam's Club, the picture I included that has chips is what they call Chili, but it was anything other then chili, it was so watery, I couldn't even call it soup. Please keep in mind I am not trying to throw shade, but do not call something 3 bean chili, and I see no beans and the food I received does not resemble chili what so ever. My family ordered a panini sandwich and some type of western egg roll and the popcorn chicken. They ate them, but both of them said how the food lacked any type of taste and no seasoning. I myself ordered a quesadilla, don't let the quesadilla fool you, it says $10, but when I ordered it, I had to pay $18 because I asked for chicken. So $10 just for a cheese quesadilla, and $6 extra charge for chicken to be added plus tax, and they do not disclose how much extra meat would be on the menu or that it is an extra charge. Section 2.) The only pro to this place is the mechanical bull when you get a chance to ride , you scan the QR code. Sign the waiver, and ride, now I don't know if the mechanical bulls operators are the same guys that cook your food? But the bar was not crowded and everytime someone wanted to ride the bull, the operators would take about 10-15 minutes to get back from wherever they went to come back and start operating it again. Also the music was so loud with random country music, you couldn't have a conversation without yelling. So my thoughts: FOOD: 0/10 MUSIC: 1/10 ATMOSPHERE: 3/10 CLEANLINESS: 4/10 All I can say is if you go, be aware that some other options in DC or Baltimore or even the national harbor are probably better.
