Four Courts Cheese Fries
Ailun H.

A few of us spontaneously stopped by on Black Friday evening after watching a late movie at the theater nearby. The exterior was decked out in holiday frills, and the freshly painted evergreen made it look incredibly festive. Inside, it looked like a typical pub, and it was packed, much to our surprise. We figured all the Arlington transplants had gone home for the holidays, but then again, the four of us aren't from the area either, so I guess that checks out haha. We were seated upon arrival at one of the high-tops near the bar. Ireland's Four Courts is known as one of the well-known local sports bar, and they had the UT vs. A&M football game playing on multiple screens. The crowd was really into it, and if that's what you're here for, it's definitely a vibe. We ordered some late-night snacks, and a couple of us grabbed drinks: PROSECCO - 12 The prosecco is from Lamberti, Italy -- no idea what that means for quality since I don't drink much. I thought it was OK to sip on here and there, nothing special. I wouldn't recommend chugging it. That was... not a good time. IRISH SAUSAGE ROLL - 12 Each order comes with two sausage rolls wrapped in a thick layer of puff pastry. Sadly, the pastry was incredibly soggy tasted far from fresh. It stuck to the sausage in a mushy way and wasn't even warm. Yucky. The sausage itself was fine, but it was too fused with the soggy pastry to enjoy. FOUR COURTS CHEESE FRIES - 13 The portion size was huge -- we were worried we wouldn't finish it. The fries were more "potato-y" than crispy, and they were the thicker shoestring type. They were smothered with cheddar cheese that had already solidified, so it wasn't warm at all. Most fries didn't even get any cheese since it wasn't spread well. There were barely any bacon bits -- maybe only like 12 fries had them. Generally, I'll eat any fry as long as there's ketchup, so I just drenched them. Overall, pretty subpar food. The interior is lively, so I'd recommend stopping by if you're here for the vibe and the sports, but definitely not for the sausage roll or cheese fries.

The food was very good- I got a chicken caesar wrap and it had lots of flavor. We also got the spicy nachos... CHEF KISS. Can't wait to go back and watch some pigskin!

Corned beef egg rolls

Corned beef egg roll? Just had to try them -- and they are FABULOUS! Those along with the fried pickles were great examples of how attentive frying and flavorful accents can bring simple apps to the next level! Spacious remodeled place with classic (and classy) Irish pub decor. Lots of big screens for sports too. Great neighborhood spot!

Came in with my roommates to watch march madness. They have a nice large space with plenty of tvs. We started with a round of espresso martinis. I personally give mine a 6/10, it was very sweet for my taste, I usually like my espresso martinis a little more bitter. However, my roommates love theirs with bailey's in it, so they gave them a rating of an 8/10, so definitely just a preference on sweetness level. We split the garlic parmesan fries, and the old bay boneless wings. Both were enough food for the three of us, however, the fries were very wet, we think they were just loaded with too much parmesan and garlic. They would have been great if they were crispier. The old bay wings were a little dry and not our favorite. The carrots and celery that came with them were delicious and very fresh. I think next time i'll try the burger, as our other roommate joined us later and for the burger and loved it. It was a nice size portion and came with a side. Our bartender was very nice, attentive, and a lot of fun to talk to. I highly recommend coming and watching games here, the restaurant is lively and they can accommodate large parties. As well as they do trivia nights and karaoke nights which seem like fun!

service: 4/5. nothing bad just average :P caesar salad: 5/5! super delicious and fresh. $10 fried chicken sandwich: 4/5. i liked it a lot, but my friend who ordered it thought it was just fine. $17 garlic parm fries: 5/5! so delicious and not extremely heavy, or loaded with congealed cheese. just a nice dusting of parmesan and flavorful seasonings :) $1 upgrade with sandwich ambiance: 5/5! great place to meet up with friends or family. very cozy. overall: 4.6/5!

Came with some friends to watch the soccer game on a Sunday morning. I'm not the biggest fan of Irish food but I actually really did enjoy the chicken boxty for brunch! A nice hearty dish with a great flavor and full of chicken. Comes with a salad as well. Despite the packed restaurant my dish came out in a timely manner. The atmosphere was full of people paying attention to the game.

Came in today to watch Arsenal/Man City. Got here a bit late but was able to grab a table in back, great screens and surround sound. Attentive service, tasty food. Good crowd, I think it's an Arsenal bar (too bad, hee hee #ctid). But great atmosphere, next time will get here earlier to sit inside. Solid food, friendly service, Guinness and prosecco flowed to our hearts' content.

Their Chicken Boxty looked smelled and tasted so good that I was halfway through before I remembered to take a picture.

This place has become one of our standards for dinner before catching a movie at the AMC Courthouse, which is a couple of blocks away. The restaurant is warm and welcoming. The staff is friendly and helpful. Most importantly, the food is consistently delicious. My usual choices are a burger, maybe a Ruben sandwich, and occasionally some chicken wings. However, last night, it was cold and rainy, and I tried something more adult, their Chicken Boxty. What a great choice! There were plenty of chicken chunks and onions in a savory curry broth. Underneath it all was a pancake that gave the dish some nice texture. Pro tip: I asked for a couple of slices of their soda bread to further help in sopping up the delicious broth.

I went here for the Vikings season opener, and the atmosphere was unbeatable! I'm a huge Vikings fan but have struggled finding my people in the DMV area, so this was quite refreshing! The drinks were good and decently priced, and they have a gameday special where you get 5 beers for $25, so I highly recommend it! Lots of TVs. It was super busy so service wasn't always the best, but overall it was still a really great experience!

Best soccer bar in America, and home of DC Spurs. Don't sleep on the curry fries. Great bartenders and clientele.

A wee pricey for lunch for us on a regular basis with the portion size. 2 Lunch orders, 1 beer in a plastic cup, was a little over $70 (not with tip). Probably a one and done for us.

The process from start to finish was easy and everyone I spoke to was so kind. I received advice on the menu and the best way to do the drinks. On the day of the event, I confirmed the details and we showed up ten minutes ahead of time to add some personal decorations. We had the slider package, mac and cheese, onion rings, artichoke dip, and baked potatoes. Everyone raved about the sliders (my dad's personal favorite was the reuben one - he had four). My mom, an onion ring fan, was very happy. There were only good things to say about the food. The bartenders were extremely attentive to the party and there was never a build up at the bar. They offered a cake hold. They brought it out when asked, had the candles lit, then whisked it back to cut it and bring it back out. If you need a lot of hand-holding, having all the perfect touches or a million options to pick from, or 'event planning' kind of help, this may not be your place. But if you want to have a chill, fun evening with lots of wonderful food and good drinks, great service, and a fun atmosphere, I would recommend Four Provinces.

In March 2018, my girlfriend at the time wanted to go here as there was a group of people going for St. Patrick's Day. We went here along with her young pre-teen daughter. They almost weren't going to let us in, but my g/f assured we just needed to eat, and they said since it was before 9 PM, it'd be ok. I enjoyed my Shepherd's Pie, a solid option here. After eating, there was dancing on the dance floor and a couple of people I knew. Then, my g/f went out to the dance floor. I'm sitting at the table with my g/f's pre-teen daughter who fell asleep. It was awkward for me especially since someone asked me if she was ok, and I said she's just tired. We left sometime in the midnight hour. But the fact of the matter was that my g/f shouldn't have put her daughter in that situation. On a positive, her daughter graduated high school & is still alive today in 2025, so her mom did something right. The other time I was here was in February 2023. I decided to have my birthday party at Copper Canyon in downtown Silver Spring. Then, a few of us were willing to hang longer asking what I wanted to do. I said I remember McGinty's was a good Irish pub. So, I had a couple of more drinks here. Staff was nice and helpful getting me drinks. The servers were friendly and prompt, and cheerfully gave us separate checks when it was time to pay. But, unless you like your beer warm, the drinks may disappoint you. The fries were good though, and the fried fish that others ordered looked to be perfectly done. So perhaps I'll come back when I'm in the mood for some classical fare. Too bad about the beer though.,,

A Spectacular Journey Through Washington, D.C…read more The views throughout Washington, D.C. are nothing short of breathtaking. I started by taking in the skyline from a rooftop, which set the tone for what would become a truly unforgettable tour. The vantage point from the Marine Corps Memorial was powerful and inspiring, with Arlington Cemetery stretching solemnly behind it, reminding me of the deep history and sacrifice embedded in this city. Standing at the Lincoln Memorial, I was able to see the iconic sweep of the National Mall, the Washington Monument rising proudly in the distance. Walking down toward it, every step felt like strolling through the center of American history. Cutting across to the Jefferson Memorial, I was greeted by a beautiful structure perfectly reflected in the surrounding waters--absolutely outstanding. From there, I could look back across the Mall and glimpse the White House anchored in the heart of the capital. That view alone was gorgeous. Approaching the Washington Monument up close was awe-inspiring, its height dominating the city's horizon. The next day, I continued this incredible journey by seeing the White House from all sides--the north, the west, and the south--each angle offering a different look at one of the most recognizable buildings in the world. Finally, strolling down the streets lined with federal institutions--from the Department of Labor, to the IRS, to the Securities and Exchange Commission--really showcased the power and importance of the nation's government at work. And as a perfect finale, I arrived at the magnificent Capitol Building on Capitol Hill, standing proudly above it all. From start to finish, the views around Washington, D.C. are stunning, historical, and moving--a visual reminder of the incredible story of America.
