Had to write my first review because of how underrated this place is. Blows 7 moons out of the water as the best Asian food in the area. Service is always incredible and the food is just as good. I've had almost everything from the lo mein, pad thai, sesame chicken, and just about every roll. So far I haven't had one complaint! O Sushi is welcomed addition to North Kingstown. The Basil chicken is incredible. Super affordable, fast, clean, and a beautiful wait staff. The place should be packed. This was horrible sushi. The only reason I didn't give it 1 star was because I didn't get sick. Although I have a feeling that is because I stopped eating my sushi roll one piece in. I was particularly bummed because I spent the whopping $14 on one specialty roll that was supposedly several types of tuna. I don't know what the thin, translucent slimy fish was but it was nothing like fresh tuna I've had in the past. I had one piece and was instantly turned off. Even my run-of-the-mill spicy salmon roll, which is still $5.50, tasted bland, the tempura was really stale and the rice wasn't sticky. So disappointing. I was really craving sushi that night. You are better off getting freshly prepared rolls at Dave's Supermarket. Miso was on point. Their kitchen foods are flavorful, and, probably what they claim to be. read more

Excellent food. My favorites are the crab rangoon and the fresh spring. The sushi and sashimi are great as well. Sashimi can get a little pricy if you order a la carte so I would suggest getting the sampler. The vegetable tempura was ok, the shrimp and the chicken tempura are much better. We usually get take out, but I did dine it once for my birthday. The servers were very attentive and helpful. They gave us great food recommendations. read more

I signed up for Yelp just so I could review this place. Simply put, it's one of my favorite restaurants I've ever been to. Having spent 5 years in DC - and 3.5 of those years living right in Chinatown - before moving back to RI, I wasn't expecting to find sushi this good so close to home. But this place makes sushi to rival the best I've had anywhere else. Their menu isn't limited to great sushi, either, which makes it a great compromise if you've got a sibling, a kid, or a date who doesn't like sushi. My little brother refuses to try sushi, but he absolutely loves their steak hibachi and their version of General Tso's chicken. Finally, the prices here are unbeatable. The adult size chicken hibachi meal is $14 and it is quite literally two meals - 3 large portions of chicken, veggies, and fried rice, plus a salad, soup, and two grilled shrimp. I used to go to Seven Moons with some regularity before I moved to DC, but as long as O Sushi is open just down the street I'll never go to Seven Moons again. read more

Been in a couple of times and I would rate this good, but certainly not great. The service was excellent, but the restaurant is sparse and kind of dingy. The sushi was more traditional, but not really well executed. Overall strikes a weird balance of more simple sushi that isn't really the freshest or best, and some of the more modern "specialty" rolls that aren't overly imaginative. There is also a Chinese menu that looks ok, but again nothing really that exciting or different. Overall not a bad experience or a good experience, just kind of run of the mill. read more

We just moved here from Atlanta, and were hoping to find a good sushi place amidst the sea of pizzerias and family restaurants. We were thrilled to find O, which features creative takes on some of our longtime sushi favorites. O is family run, and the owners treat each guest as if they were also part of the family. The sushi is excellent and diverse. The menu features something for every taste (even for those who refuse to eat anything raw). Our neighbor told us about this place about 6 weeks ago and we've been back 4 more times!! Place is great, food is fresh and the service if fab. The crab rangoons are not what you'd find at other asian places. Nime chow is YUM. We've also had the sushi, chicken stir fry, general chicken...all DELISH. So there are 2 places in North Kingstown to get sushi (not counting grocery stores)the extravagant standalone restaurant Seven Moons, which is okay but then there's O Sushi, a semi hole in the wall (formerly a blockbuster video), in a plaza which contains a Newport Creamery and a few other little restaurants. The verdict definitely goes to O Sushi. Every time I have walked in I've been greeted by the more than friendly and whether we are just picking up a couple rolls and a meal or dining in, I have always been pleased. On top of that the prices are some of the best you'll finding for the quality of sushi, hibachi, traditional Asian cuisines, and drinks. As a resident of North Kingstown my only fear is one day they won't be there anymore and I will have to settle for Seven Moons... But until then O Sushi is the only place in this town for upscale Asian cuisine. read more

I have been there twice for dinner, and the sushi is the freshest Ive had in a long time. I normally go to Kon often but since this Osushi opened I like it better. It is far superior Seven Moons for sushi . The place is very well decorated, but very quiet, not enough people know about it yet. The sushi chefs are very friendly and willing to substitute various fish at your pleasure. I have the Charasi and sushimi and found the texture and taste to be the best . The Osushi roll is awesome and very unique. Having tried just about every sushi restaurant in RI this place tops them all. The owner came over and was very helpful and the staff is as well. Great food at a fair price. the one odd thing about RI most of the Sushi restaurants are Chinese owned and not at all Japanese! All the same OSushi is the best! read more

Came in for lunch before the lunch rush and the greeter/server was very friendly however she seated me next to the kitchen and men's bathroom which you could smell. It was still empty so I was a bit surprised where she sat me. I asked her a few questions regarding the menu and she answered them well. I ordered the steak lunch box and a side of spicy tuna hand roll. The miso soup had not enough miso flavor. The starter salad was over dressed, but a hearty portion. The steak was not the typical teriyaki marinated steak that I'm used to eating in Japan & Hawaii. At least the teriyaki sauce was good and not overly salty. The spicy tuna hand roll was something I'm not used to eating. In Hawaii & Japan the raw fish is not minced so small. It's usually a bit more diced so you can see the fish. The flavor was there and had enough heat to it. After my food came, the server did not come back to my table to check on me. They did get busy by the time I left. However, I had to flag down another server to get my check. Which is why I gave them 3 stars. Service is just as important is the food. Would probably come back again and try other dishes. read more

What a pleasant surprise. Really nice, impeccably clean interior, high ceilings and cool lighting, great bar area as well. They had some interesting sushi rolls like surf and turf and shrimp tempura and eel. Delicious. Veggie spring rolls were not good. Everything else we had was excellent. Good cocktails too. Came here with my friend's family and we ordered a mix of sushi/apps/hibachi/noodles. I personally work at a restaurant just like this one which is located in central Mass., so I am familiar with the style of food. I also looked on Yelp and got the impression that this place was worth eating at more than once. Their hot&sour soup was very good; cooked fresh compared to the hot&sour soup made at chain Chinese restaurants. Their crab rangoons were also very tasty; I was taken aback by the shape (they were shaped like spring rolls) but the creamy taste did not cease to impress me. The reason why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because their vegetable pad thai was soggy. When I saw it I immediately knew it wasn't quality. I was picking around the dish, eating mostly the vegetables; the noodles seemed to be drenched in liquid. I really did not want to take the rest home with me, but out of respect for my friend's family (who was paying for my meal) I sucked it up and got it packed up. Other than that, I would definitely recommend coming here for its variety of dishes. read more

Love this place...though name indicates a Japanese restaurant, O Sushi's Chinese food is excellent, as is the Japanese food. So, if you're a family of four...and someone prefers sushi, and another prefers a Chinese dish, everyone's happy. Food is great...owners are super nice people. Highly recommended! read more

I've been to O Sushi twice, once with my boyfriend and once with a group. Both were great experiences and there was no wait either time we went (Friday @ 7ish). The sushi is excellent, and I highly suggest the crab rangoons. My friends said the mixed drinks were also very good. Word needs to get out on this place. We had a very good dining experience at O Sushi tonight. We started with the crab rangoon, unique spring roll type of presentation. It was out of this world, better than any of us have had anywhere else. My husband ordered sweet heart sushi and spicy cooked tuna roll and reports that it was top notch. The kids enjoyed watching the sushi being made. Ideally, the bar in the center of the building would be great for sushi prep, more visible. The kids ordered chicken teriyaki which came with a beautiful presentation of chicken, carrots, broccoli, onions and white rice. I chose the hibachi chicken that was perfectly cooked and served with a fried rice and vegi ensemble of onions, carrots, broccoli, zucchini and mushrooms. All of the food plentiful and delicious. Interesting selection of dessert and 3 of us went with the hazelnut gelato, which I would call a semifreddo, I think. Very good. Our bill total before tip $124 which included 3 sodas and 2 beers and a Bailey's. In my opinion, a good value for the quality and quantity of food. Hope that they can succeed here and that as word spreads business will increase. Definitely a nice change from Seven Moons. read more
