This place lends credence to my wife's suspicion: every restaurateur has 40 friends, family, and employees who can front-load Yelp with empty 5 star reviews. When we opened the exterior door and stepped into the building, we could smell fish. There's nothing edgy or trendy about exposed strip mall ceilings. Where was everybody? 5 Stars in yelp and a near empty dining room Friday 7 pm?? This place is a cold, dark echo chamber. I won't blame management for the 3 yr old with whooping cough contaminating the next table over. Shu Mai was straight out of the freezer section at Aldi. Sushi was room temperature. Tuna roll was a rice roll with a ribbon of incubating fish in it. Spicy chicken dish had the BJ's Wholesale club crinkle cut frozen mixed vegetables which we bought 3 years ago and finally tossed out of our freezer when we defrosted last fall. Our server was a beautiful young woman who had a wonderful attitude. She'd be fantastic if someone had only told her that the Miso soup comes out before the entrée. My boyfriend and I have been about a dozen times since they've opened (which they've only been open about a month so that shows a lot ). Every sushi roll is amazing - we haven't had one that we haven't liked. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the pad Thai but that might be a personal preference. This is way better than the other sushi restaurant in nk that I used to absolutely love. I've come in a handful of times for their Bento/lunch specials. Their miso soup is very bland which starts us off on the wrong foot already. Their rolls are ok. Why bother serving anything unless it's going to leave your customers wanting more? The service is always top notch, parking is never a problem, the place is clean and has romantic decor. Ran into this for dinner during a thunderstorm. It was fine. We started with miso soup. Can't go wrong on that usually. I had tuna tataki. Plenty of tuna slices on a bed of greens but the ponzu sauce was very salty. My husband had a plate of sushi and asked for brown rice instead of white rice but was told they did not do brown rice. The place was large and industrial looking. It wasn't noisy and we had the view of the sushi bar. Our server was very nice and attentive. She responded to request immediately when I pointed out that there were rice under our table that had not been cleaned up. We had a decent dinner but nothing really stood out. We love this place! First time here, service very good, the food was excellent. We ordered the fried dumplings and then a mixed Sushi plate. We did something we don't ordinarily do and ordered the desert. The deep fried tempura ice cream. That was worth the whole trip! So, I've only been to Sushi O once, when they first opened, and just for lunch. The service was superb, the sushi was delicious and fresh - not a thing to complain about except they didn't have gluten free soy sauce (these days most places do). The place was completely empty except for us, but it had been open only a couple of weeks by that point, and we were made to feel very welcome. The sushi was as fresh and delicious as could be. As good or better than Seven Moons. I do plan to try them for dinner soon, and will report back, and hope to be able to issue five stars next time! O Sushi is great; long menu, many options, mixed fare inspired by various countries. It seems to include Thai and Japanese, but also some Americanized dishes, which is great for someone like me who orders a standard garlic noodle! There's options for children, too. The dining room is very pretty, and nicely decorated. Many restaurants have come and gone from this location, but I sincerely hope this one stays! A couple of the negatives here are that the servers are not too attentive, the television over the bar can be quite annoying if you are seated close to it, and the woman who runs the franchise is quite strict, and you can spot her almost constantly correcting and disciplining her employees, which can be a bit disconcerting. Overall, really great food, impressive chefs, great for English speakers, and very nice location. Four stars! read more

The fish is the freshest in South County and owner is one of two outstanding sushi chefs. On two occasions, we asked for a sample plate and were blown away by the selection and quality of the nigiri. If you don't have a menu item in house- make your customers aware. Don't be sneaky and try to tell the customer the way it is prepped makes it hard to recognize in the food. Doing that makes you sound CHEAP!!! and inconsiderate towards customers who would have appreciated the ingredient as part of their meal. Also make sure all ingredients are listed on the menu for each item. Customers have dislikes,preferences, and allergies. Sushi should be rolled with more proficiency. Sh*t just falls apart. If you have time to hand the phone over to the chef who then informs you the place is so busy that the manager doesn't have time to take your call/ suggestions into consideration you SUPER SUCK. If the business is really that busy the last person that should have time to go on the defensive is the chef. Welcome to Restaurants 101(which will NOT be taught here). read more

Had to write my first review because of how underrated this place is. Blows 7 moons out of the water as the best Asian food in the area. Service is always incredible and the food is just as good. I've had almost everything from the lo mein, pad thai, sesame chicken, and just about every roll. So far I haven't had one complaint! Hot wasabi! We stopped here for a late light dinner after a day of driving. The crab Rangoon was a delight - crispy outside and creamy within. The California rolls were heavy on the avocado - greatly enhanced by the spicy sliced ginger on the side. Husband had the Udon noodles. They were fresh and had just the right amount of peanut flavor. This is by far the best sushi in southern Rhode Island. I work the late shift so we have sushi Friday nearly every week. The three Roll lunch special can't be beat. Three rolls of your choice plus soup and a salad for 12 bucks. As you can see from everybody else's reviews I'm not telling you anything new. Spent a wonderful Saturday night here! The Sake Martini was out of this world and the banana flavored sake was delicious! The nime chow was good, not the best I've ever had, but still worth having. We also had the O Sushi roll...AMAZING!!!, and the Philadelphia roll which was really good. The yellow tail nigiri was so fresh!! The other people we were with all got hibachi plates and raved about them. Service was friendly and quick. Love the atmosphere! Hope this place sticks around because I'll be here often! read more
