Each condo has different amenities and it's a bit difficult to choose one but my parents chose a fully stoked condo that had EVERYTHING you need! 2 air conditioners (one in the living room, one in the master bedroom), a GIANT sofa that literally fit 6 adults comfortably, a King sized bed in the master bedroom, a Queen size bed as well as a pull out couch in the second bedroom, a fully stoked bathroom complete with shampoo bottles, hairspray bottles, a blow dryer, even a curling iron(!), a dishwasher, tons of dishes, tons of extra blankets, pillows, and bath towels, even beach towels and beach bags! It was such a cute beach condo. Whoever owns this place seriously thought of EVERYTHING one would need to have a completely relaxing, worry-free stay! We got 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath condo with the view of pool. There were 4 of staying there and there was more than enough room for everyone. At the particular condo we were at, I loved how secure everything was. Everything was keyless! There was a key fob to get onto the property and we were able to create our own unique passcode to get in the house. There was a welcome letter explaining everything we needed to know about the condo and they even provided a binder with what to do in the area! They even provided a GIANT book of 5 minute bed time stories! How cute! There was also free wi-fi and they even attached a Maikai Card for discounts at Foodland! (For those from out of town, of course!) My dad had requested we have 3 stalls because my family all came in separate cars due to needing to transport lots of stuff for the wedding and Jean, the manager was very accommodating. We were allowed 3 parking passes and took 2 guest stalls as well as the assigned stall to our condo. Sorry for all those condos around us for taking up so many stalls! There is a walkway to Turtle Bay and the beach and it was a quick 5 minute walk away from our condo. We were able to explore the resort without paying any resort fees or high room rates. Hehe. Back on the property, the pool area was super cute with grills and a covered area to sit. We took FULL advantage of the pool and grilling area. In fact, our first night, we took over the whoooole area! We had a BBQ with 30+ people and it was a blast!! The pool does close at 9pm so we needed to be out by then but that was no problem because we started BBQ-ing early. Overall, I would definitely stay here again if I needed to stay on the North Shore! Just need to really do your research on picking a good one.. I'm not sure how my mom booked this place but it was definitely on the nicer, more modernized condos. My family was staying here for a wedding, therefore extended family rented out the 2 condos next door to the one I was staying at and theirs was nice but didn't have as much included (i.e. 2 air conditioners, a fully stoked bathroom, beach towels with beach bags, etc). Looking at other reviews, it's hit or miss at this place so ask a lot of questions and look at the pictures and read the description on the condos before committing!

Turtle Cove is where you check in for the lodging, and then they also have shops and that type of thing. I wanted to see if the bar could make me a virgin Mai Tai, but they didn't open for another two hours. She said that they open at 3 PM. I'm not sure if that's every day of the week.... So instead, I went over to the snack bar, and I ordered a spam musubi, and an açai bowl. What a combination, eh? The spam musubi was very large, and it was delicious! The rice was tender, and the SPAM was done just right. It took a little bit longer to get my açai bowl, as they are made to order! When I did, I took it out back so I could eat overlooking the ocean. What a beautiful view, just so absolutely peaceful. This is just such an amazing place. The açai bowl was amazing. They were very generous with the toppings, the granola underneath the fruit was very good, and the açai itself was very slightly frozen, it melted perfectly as I went through the meal. After that they more than able to cancel it and tried to reschedule us for the spring . Their availability went away every time. Every few months we would attempt to make a booking, but they were always full. (interesting right ?) Next thing you know two years plus go by. Now she says she's unable to give us any compensation or credit because we're past the two years. It's not our fault they did not have availability. Don't book your stay here. The owners have every intention to get money out of you and lack any type of customer service. Worst customer service and just the worst selfish people. The beach front rental we booked does have a privacy screen on the patio but it's pretty much a shard patio. No matter- we will just lounge on the beach and enjoy our homemade beverages. Unfortunately, the hurricane like wind prevented that. It was so windy that we didn't even use the lounge chairs or picnic table outside. The waves on the beach were too intense due to the weather, so we attempted to find calmer beaches...no luck on the north side. Rip currents were everywhere. Okay, how about a nice dinner? Nope- your only option is roadside shrimp or a taqueria, which was fine, but not what we had anticipated. McDonald's had coffee since our place wasn't furnished with any. There are grocery stores nearby, so that's where we got some food. Everything shuts down around 9. The management was responsive to the complaints we had of the children, but you're pretty much at the mercy of whomever is staying next to you since it's an intimate setting and thin walls. Oh, and I hope you like roosters being raised in a dilapidated house next door. After another day of failing to find a beach we could swim in, we came home to find a giant sewer cockroach in the bathroom. That was the final straw. We headed to Waikiki and enjoyed sunshine, calm warm waters, and a wonderful dinner out. Yes, it was crowded, but the water made everything better. The windward side is very authentic...very windy and rainy when the other side is not, and sparse as far as eateries go. It just wasn't the honeymoon we imagined. We asked for at least a night refund (we left two nights early) but didn't get a response to that at all.

I'm not going to sugar coat this one. The Princess is a 16 story tall condo complex that is securely gated with a public beach access. There is security on the grounds 24/7. There are key fobs that access the main gate and the key fobs access the elevator, pool area and gates to the beach. We felt 10,000% safe here with our child during our 10 night stay in March during Spring Break. 50% are long term residents. 50% are vacation rentals. Lets talk about smoking - NO SMOKING on any of the lanais, pool area, BBQ area, ect. You'll get kicked off the property and they mean it. There is a designated smoking area behind the tennis courts. We never smelt any stank on the property. Which was great because cigarettes are gross! Lets talk about theft - We had zero issues with theft here in Waianae or on the island in general. Remain vigilant. Don't leave valuables in your vehicle. Don't leave your vehicle unlocked. We left absolutely nothing in our rental car. Not even a phone charger. Nothing! We even took down our dash info for the Princess when we went into public areas. We didn't want to be like, "look over here, this is a vacationer with a rental car" Be smart about it. Let's talk about the homeless - It's a thing here! There are indeed many. A huge population of displaced people. Some encampments along the 93 Farrington from Makaha south to Kapolei can be 100 - 200 sized encampments of tent city. It's a real thing here. The Princess had a few strays passing through since its a public beach. But not one person camping on the beach of the Princess. They have really cracked down on that and have no camping signs on the rocks. If the homeless make you uncomfortable, stay in Honolulu and Waikiki in a resort with the tourist craze. We are from the SF Bay area and homeless all over where we live and it's normal to us. But if your from Kansas or something, you might get a little freaked out. Lets talk about driving - There is one road in and one road out. It takes about 30 mins to get to Kapolei. And about 1hr to get to Honolulu. We loved staying far far far away from people. Honestly, when we return, we'd stay at the Princess. No questions asked. Let's talk about the neighborhood - It's a little rough. A lot of older run down homes. A lot of junk in front of people's homes. There is a huge feral cat population. There are wild roosters, chickens and peacocks running around. There are Island puppies. No one fixes their animals and are mostly in tact leading to a huge over population here. All of the homeless have dogs and puppies with them. The roosters start crowing at 5am. You'll hear them and you'll see them. Everyone has been very friendly though. Its definitely its own little community up here. If it all makes you feel uncomfortable, again, you might want to stay in Honolulu/Waikiki tourist chaos. Conclusion- We would 1,000% stay here again.

Is great to start morning on the beach if swimming in ocean is desired there is a lifeguard tower and swimming area. They are always clean I have never seen any bugs which is usually a problem in tropical climate areas. They are a really good at providing a relaxing vacation away from the congestion and tourist traps in Honolulu. You can go to the tourist area but you have a place to retreat when the day is over. Also if you are there at the right time watching a full moon rise over the ocean is mesmerizing. Only draw back is you have to drive to other side of island for sunsets. But sunrises are breathtaking.

That made the experience feel much more like actually living in Ko Olina for a few days than staying in a hotel. Comfy beds, a spacious kitchen, plenty of room to spread out, and everything we needed to settle in. And then there was that balcony view. Every evening the sun put on a show over the ocean. I took an embarrassing number of sunset pictures and regret none of them. The beaches here are amazing, and N and I walked every single day. The grounds are beautiful, the lagoons are right there, and the whole place has this easy, peaceful rhythm to it. The staff were super friendly, the gym was great, and I loved unwinding in the hot tub at the end of the day. And then there was my unexpected tryst with the adorable mongooses running around the grounds. I became slightly obsessed with spotting them. Six days went by much too quickly. A true home away from home, with beaches, long walks, sunsets from the balcony, and a hot tub waiting at the end of the day. Hard to beat that.

However, the resort pricing overall food value was disappointing. At check-in guest are giving a discount card for 10% of Off at the Market and certain resort locations, which is appreciated. However, if you forget the card in your room while heading to the pool or Beach, you were simply out of luck since purchases can be charged directly to the room, it seems like the discount should automatically apply to the guest account instead of requiring a physical card. The 10% discount definitely helps because Hawaii is already expensive but the price is at the market and eateries felt excessive. For example we had 6 drinks and two orders of fish and chips at Long boards and the bill was $171. Unfortunately food felt like it mediocre pub food, which made the cost even harder to justify. Overall, we love the beauty of Ko Olina and the warmth of the people, but the resort pricing felt comparable to Disney without the food quality or value to match.
