Upon hearing that the pasta dishes were really good, my buddy and I ordered Linguine Leonardo and Tortellini Carbonara. While both pastas presented well, I felt the Linguine Leonardo was lacking in salt. In fact, a friend ordered the Linguine Leonardo, as well, and we were fighting over the salt shaker. I was surprised by how much salt I needed to add. As for the Tortellini Carbonara, the dish was perfectly seasoned and was the star. Everyone at our table enjoyed the garlic bread with the cheese spread.

From the fresh baked bread to the vibrant red marinera sauce, florentine trattoria has some unique and very good food. This isn't just about getting some meal, it's about getting consistent excellence. The kitchen really has mastered its art of a forever recipe and everything I've ordered has always been good, you can tell they really like serving the best of quality and this is why I keep coming back. The staff here are always friendly and attentive and show warmth and consideration when you step into the restaurant. If you're looking for authentic Italian comfort served with genuine hospitality, skip the local chains. Gas up the car, brave the traffic from your location, and head to Saratoga. Your taste buds will thank you for the extra miles.

There was no one at the Front of House station. All service staff were staring at our party of 4 like we were out of place... So that pretty much set the tone for our experience for this evening. When we were finally seated, our server flopped the menus down and offered nothing. Not even non alcoholic drinks to start. Whatever. Fine. People are people and have bad days. They left us alone to explore the menu (possibly in peace). The server came back to take our order, and I was slightly confused. Normally, shouldn't restaurants have specials in at least 2 proteins and a vegetarian option?... well.. We ordered: Gnocchi Margherita + minestrone soup. Half Ravioli/half Spaghetti Chicken Alfredo Chicken Piccata with cappelini / angel hair pasta. We also asked for drink options that were non alcoholic specifically and got an actual answer! Hurrah! We got our food and this is the situation: Minestrone soup: Absolutely no seasonings. The pasta in the soup was very obviously from a can (as was the rest of the dish). Un-appetizing. Dish was also messily brought to our table. I had to add copious amount of salt and pepper. Gnocchi Margherita: Usually a fairly simple but flavorful dish at any Italian restaurant worth their salt. But alas... The dish was not hot. The cheese was forming a crust, and the gnocchi was covered in a sauce that also has no seasonings. So much pepper was added for some semblance of flavor that it desperately needed. Still did not save the dish. HALF/HALF: WHY WAS THE RAVIOLI PREVIOUSLY FROZEN? WAS IT THAT HARD TO MAKE THE RAVIOLI FROM THE "FRESH HOUSE MADE SAUSAGE" AND RiCOTTA?! MAYBE SOME SPINACH MIXED In? Chicken Alfredo: Where was the cheese sauce? Where was the seasonings? HOW DID THE CHICKEN HAVE NO TEXTURE OR FLAVOR??? The gnocchi had more seasoning and texture. WHICH IS SAYING A LOT. Chicken Piccata: This dish is supposed to be pan seared chicken breast that is thinly sliced, served over cappelini pasta with a sauce made of olive oil, lemon juice, white wine (and/or chicken broth), capers, flour cooked in to thicken the sauce (-which can be from deglazing the pan that the chicken was cooked in-*if said chicken was dredged in SEASONED FLOUR BEFORE BEING SEARED*- so that it properly clings to/ coats the pasta and chicken [which is usually finished in said sauce before slicing], finished with a knot of butter and fresh parsley to add richness and reinforce the brightness of the citrus to the entire dish. The sauce is supposed to be slightly tangy forward from the lemon juice and white wine reduction, with a little funk from the capers. Wee bit of fresh ground black pepper to add a tiny kick of warmth. No salt, because the capers are salty, and you let the customer adjust to their tastes at the table. This is what was supposed to happen. What we were served was a flavorless, overcooked (versus barely cooked for the alfredo) chicken breast meat over a bed of cappelini pasta in a flavorless sauce that had already separated into a pool of oil and grease. There were no capers. No parsley. No sign of pepper. Or salt. THERE WAS NO LEMON FLAVOR. THERE WAS MORE LEMON FLAVOR IN THE WEDGE OF LEMON SERVED WITH THE SAN PELLEGRINO SPARKLING WATER THAN THE PICCATA. Getting one dish wrong, forgivable. 2, was the kitchen understaffed...? But ALL 4??? WE EVEN TRIED TO ASK FOR CHILI FLAKES TO ADD FLAVOR. THE SERVER DIDN'T HEAR, OR IGNORED US. THE TABLE IN FRONT OF US HAD CHILI FLAKES... No. We will not be coming back.

The drop in one star was due to the clam chowder which I found too heavy on al dente potatoes and carrots... luckily the steamed clams brightened the meal and were excellent. I chose the linguine pescatore which had calamaretti, scallops and prawns, capers added which brought out a bit more taste ... I added salt which I found unusual. The squid was a little rubbery... would I visit again ... yes but I'd order the clams again but something different to compliment them. Glass of pinot Grigio and sparkling San Pellegrino water which matched the Italian choices. As a dessert I had the affogato... perfecto

i don't know why i bypassed the stars/reviews for this place because they are absolutely correct. save your your money and go elsewhere. my party of two walked in and checked in. i made reservations hours before and they told me there's no reservations for me but it's ok, we can seat you. we were seated in the back near this cute little old couple enjoying their dinner. (you know they're regulars, so cute!) it took a long minute for someone to come to our table. and when someone did come, it was a gal with a pitcher of water .. poured some water into our cups and walked away. no acknowledgment, even when we said thank you. #WILD! another 10 minutes pass and a lady comes to take our offer. we place our order of half & half (half spaghetti & half veal/pork ravioli) and gnocchi alla genovese. once our order was placed, they dropped some rosemary bread + 1 oz cheese at our table. another 10-15 minutes pass and our entrees come. we dig in and are just shocked at how BLEH the food is. i think i honestly at 4-5 pieces of gnocchi from my plate and called it a day. my friend who ordered the half and half stated that we could have had better food had we gone to olive garden. how sad is that?! and i can honestly say i agreed with him. we did not stay long because we were just over the meal and get out. the bill came and we were a little surprised that they charged us for the bread. it was never told to us nor did we order it. it was placed at our table automatically after we ordered. that was deceiving for sure. did not like that one bit. but honestly, the bread was the only good part of the meal. how sad is that? neither one of us enjoyed the food and the only highlight was their bread. i just have to giggle a little reading that back. we for sure will not be going back to this establishment. not worth the drive nor the money spent. GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE! you have been warned.

The portions were small and comfortable for 2 people. The lobster tail was tasty and the steak bites were tender; both meals were delicious. The meals were on the pricey side. The servers were nice to us. The restaurant is cozy and pretty quiet. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a new place to try out in Saratoga.

To be honest, when I opened the menu, I thought the price was a bit on the high side, and didn't expect to like it in the "worth it" scale. But hey, for a higher price, they better deliver on the food quality! It most certainly disappoint. The food was amazing. Got the Linguini Fruti Di Mare, the seafood was good quality, the cioppino sauce was intense. It truly is the boss of the sauce. Also ordered the Chicken Marsala, I'm always cautious before ordering because the marsala wine can easily become overwhelming, or the sauce is too sour, or the chicken is tough and dry. I did not hit any of those, but rather, what I got was a few silky smooth and tender pieces of flattened chicken breasts, that is moist and flavorful. The sauce is great too, not to mention the mushroom, that is so fresh and flavorful on its own. Last but not least, their attention to detail went all the way to mashed potato and steamed vegetables. It was truly one of the best. Did I mention the free, fresh baked foccacia? It's among the top 3 I've had in any restaurants, ever. At the end, even it pinches my wallet a bit, it was well worth it. Come hungry, leave happy!

Now I get why Sorelle has such a high score, and I'm happy that we finally gave it a try…read more It's situated in a small strip mall, parking is ok as we came at around 6:30pm on a week day night, there were still some spots available. Sorelle is a small restaurant, upon entering, it has a square room and you get to see everything at one glance. It's not fancy on decorations, more like a neighborly place and the customers look like so too, families and large groups on a random day, you don't need to dress up to eat in this place. The 2 page menu has appetizers, salad, pizza, pasta, and 3 entree dishes. Desserts are printed on a separate sheet, there are a variety of choices but a tad too expensive for my wallet. We ordered the Ravioli a la Teresa with cheese and pesto cream sauce, and their signature Sorelle Short Rib Bolognese. After ordering, we were given free bread for the table. The bread had herbs on top and the dipping sauce is olive oil with fried and then mashed soft garlic. The bread looked nothing special, but once I touched it, I was delighted to find out that they were warm and crusty on the outside but soft on the inside. It took a bit of wait for our food to came, I think it meant they were freshly cooked. The portions were big. Once laying down our food, the lady came with a big bowl of cheese and helped us sprinkle on top. It looks amazing with the cheese on top, like snow flakes melting on. I am so impressed with my short rib bolognese. The piece of short rib was sumptuous, a whole piece, resting on top of the pasta that is covered in meat sauce. The meat itself was so soft that it was super easy to tear off and just melts in my mouth. Flavorful and soft and juicy, super yummy! The pasta is cooked el dente, and each bite there's a bit of ground meat coated on the ziti pasta from the bolognese sauce. Very satisfying! I had a bite of the ravioli and these huge dumplings are covered in fresh pesto sauce and very cheesy inside. Although I was a bit confused on the difference between a pesto sauce and a pesto cream. I felt like the sauce was more pesto but we ordered pesto cream. Anyhow, it tasted good but I prefer my short rib bolognese more. Bus boy service is fast and responsive. We had a very enjoyable meal.

No, the restaurant itself ( in a casual, rustic sort of way ) is very cozy and warm. inviting in a semi-formal way where you can relax to enjoy a fine meal and that is exactly what my family had. Our waiter was an affable fellow named Armando who is one of those servers that, as any good waiter does, is truly attentive to your whims and instinctively anticipates what you may want and he was perfect at his job. He served us water and a very food delicious basket of freshly baked bread ( which inadvertently set the tone for the meal to come because it was beyond excellent ) and named off the house specials, which were all mouth-watering at hearing them but it was the rib eye steak that caught my attention and that is what I ordered and also a ginger beer as well ( Fever Tree no doubt about it ). My family also ordered their food and then we waited for what what it seemed was an eternity for our meal to come. After about 40 minutes our meals came and they did not disappoint, from presentation to the flavor, taste and consistency of it all. I honestly don't remember eating my meal because it was done in 5 minutes... yes. it was that good and beyond delicious! I remember the steak was tender, juicy, grilled perfectly, the gravy was hearty and robust. the vegetables were cooked right ( fresh and tangy ) and the mashed potatoes were oh so fluffy and creamy. The hostess showed him the updated indoor reservation directly in front of him. The carbonara was amazing--served super hot with great flavor and a solid amount of meat. Easily a 10/10. One tip though: eat it while it's hot, because once it cools down, it's not quite the same. The seafood pasta was also a standout. Everything tasted fresh, the flavors were on point, and it felt surprisingly light for a pasta dish. You know how pasta can sometimes feel heavy? This didn't have that at all. Another 10/10. The pesto pasta (a special that day) was just okay for me. It leaned a bit too oily, and the pesto flavor didn't really come through. They added ricotta, which kind of overpowered everything else. I did like the portion and the amount of meat, but overall I'd give it a 7/10. The ambiance was decent--nothing too special, but clean and comfortable. Service was excellent. It felt like a family-run place--three brothers along with their wives and kids--and everyone was super friendly and welcoming. They gave great recommendations and even helped accommodate my mom by seating us closer to the bathroom, which I really appreciated. Just a heads up: it's in downtown Los Gatos, so parking can be a bit tricky since there's no private lot. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place. What I ordered: - Small Tagliere Misto which was a charcuterie board mix of cheeses, cold cuts, olives, honey & focaccia. Would definitely get this board again with a glass of wine. - Pizza alla Francese made with tomato sauce, mozzarella, brie cheese, speck (smoked prosciutto), arugula salad, parmesan cheese. Loved the freshness of this pizza. Lots of flavor and all around great pie. - Carbonara swapped the rigatoni with spaghetti. Creamy, silky pasta made with pecorino, prosciutto & egg yolk. My son loves this! - Lasagna just because. Layered goodness of became, cheeses, bolognese. Bubbly goodness - Testarrossa Pinot Noir I think this might be my new weekly red at home. All in all service was decent, food took a bit to arrive but was great so no complaints. They checked on us a few times while we were waiting so that's a plus. Good for large groups as they have plenty of seating.

I finally stopped in with my daughter and was pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent, the portions were generous, and the prices were refreshingly reasonable. As someone who hasn't always been impressed with Italian restaurants in Cupertino, this place changed my mind. The atmosphere was warm and comfortable, making it a great spot for a casual family dinner. My daughter had been here before and kept telling me to try it, and she was absolutely right. We'll definitely be coming back.
