    Steak and cheese

We ordered take out today for our first time. My husband got the steak and cheese sandwich that comes with fries but he also wanted to try curly fries. It comes with a side of coleslaw and he wanted some more so he ordered a pint of it lol He let me know the sandwich was fabulous with just the right addiction of peppers and onions with cheese. The curly fries were just right with their seasoning. Their regular fries are thin and perfectly done from the fryer. I ordered the chicken Parmesan without the Parmesan (if you wonder why the picture looks funny it's because I'm lactose intolerant) it also comes with coleslaw and fries. The chicken is a great serving. Two large pieces of chicken on each half of the sandwich. The chicken was moist yet had a great layer of breadcrumb and the sauce complimented the sandwich nicely. We got the meatball appetizer which comes with bread. The meatballs were tender and tasted like a mixture of pork and beef with their rich flavor. My husband ordered a slice of their ice box cake. They used graham crackers as their base and it created a great bite with the cold layers of pudding. Take out was ready in under 15 minutes and everything was served warm when we got it home. The restaurant was super busy and we love how bright and open the sitting area is since the restaurant opened it's a welcome addition to the beach area and with outdoor seating during the summer is a lovely atmosphere. 5 stars!

The Burger with cheese. Come with Fries & great coleslaw.

As usual, very good in all aspects. Hats off to Lou & Geno. We have eaten here multiple times and everything is always good.

First time here, met a friend for lunch and sat in the bar at a hi-top. Such a nicely renovated restaurant. You can see they took pride in the updates. Plenty of seating, no wait for lunch on a Friday noonish. Waitress was extremely nice and very attentive. There are several delicious items to choose from and I was having a hard time! Started off with the stuffed clam which is plenty for two people. I could not have eaten all four myself. They were stuffed with mozzarella and definitely had fresh clams in them. Flavorful and nicely broiled with a little crisp on top. I decided on the steak tacos for lunch and my friend had the Cajun chicken (forgot the picture). She enjoyed hers and it was a decent side sub roll with Cajun chicken breast, lettuce and tomato. She seems happy with it. There were 3 steak tacos, nice simple presentation. I'm always Kerry about ordering steak since it may be dry. I was pleasantly surprised. The beef was very tender and not dry with a nice bit of avocado on top. Definitely would get those again. The menu had lots to choose from so we'll definitely have to come back and try some other things. My only negative comment is that my second Bloody Mary was not as good as the first, kind of just lacked flavor and tasted like tomato juice. The first was delish! Definitely stop by for dinner or lunch nice bar area with plenty of seating and very bright. See you there soon!

We were in New Haven during Yale commencement. (Our daughter received her MFA). All restaurants near Yale were packed and my wife was looking for something low key and not too far away. This was perfect! We got a great reservation time. The staff were friendly and funny. The food was fabulous. Appetizers, drinks and entrees were all excellent and service was great. The place is small but cozy. And the bar had a very friendly easy going vibe. I would absolutely recommend it. It's easy to get to and just outside of New Haven proper. The other nice thing is it's across the street from a park and the water! Great for after dinner stroll and catch the sunset! Highly recommend

Yummy! The empanadas I had were delicious! The wait staff read us the specials and they had me tempted as well, making my mouth water. They were patient with us, even though our group was being chatty and taking awhile to decide which was probably annoying and greatly appreciated by my group who was catching up! The outdoor area is absolutely beautiful and pleasant. I will definitely be back to try additional items on their menu.

The owners of Oak Beach bar grill did a beautiful job remodeling the restaurant and bar. It is in a good location across from the beach. There is a clean, crisp, nicely decorated ambience. We only had drinks today, but the menu looked like it had a nice selection for everyone. Service was great, and the company was sensational!

We decided to return for a second experience at this welcoming bar/grill. We were very disappointed to find them not open on Thursday evening Oct. 31st. Not sure if new hours or a holiday closing. We tried again 2 weeks later @ 5:30 & found the bar full & the dinning room filling fast. We tried several new to us entrées only to be once again delighted in presentation & taste. The PF Teres Major Teriyaki was melt in your mouth w/o an over powering Teriyaki sauce. The fish & chips once again were hot, flaky & hit the spot. Definitely worth our return visit. Apologies for several pieces of P. Filet & some fish already being eaten.

Love this place! My son and I have a new fav place to have lunch! Fun, Beachy vibe with great service. I started with a soup, yum! We were both thrilled with The stuffed clams. Salads both hearty and filling. The owners are great guys that support other local companies! Bravo!

Just water to one side, coastal highway, and then Riva. The bartending staff is definitely skilled. They're fast, friendly... and make a drink that has kick but you don't get the alcoholic burn. A dangerous combo for sure. The food was good too. A double patty burger and onion rings, at $25 give or take, definitely the right price range for it. My one gripe is the beer prices. $9 for a can of Miller Lite is very steep. I get there's overhead, staff wages, taxes, all of that, but a high price for a cheaper beer is a deterrent. When the cocktails are $4 more but you get a decent amount for the drink, that's totally fair. Craft beers at $9 is understandable. But cheap domestics at that level? It's not the best decision there. But other than the drink prices, it's clean, great staff, very good food, and an experience that made me go "I'll come back when it's summertime for sure"

I took a seat at the bar- I was able to go over to the pizza shack and grab a shrimp fra diavolo pie which was absolutely delicious despite the center lack a bit more stability and a little less flap. The sauce reminded me of the sauce they use on Domenic and Pia's pie out in Waterbury. Their drinks were fun but nothing out of the ordinary. They also had a stage for live music, with a green/fake grass section with corn hole stations and along side of that they had benched tables. It was a family friendly place which was nice. I don't visit their creamery, located above their covered/indoor bar area which had a huge screen TV/projector behind it. Next to that they had another place you could purchase food from, most seemed fried along with some salads. You can't really mess onion rings up, they were extra crispy here, how I like them, and I got their cucumber watermelon salad which only makes sense for a hot day-- both great. I liked all the seating options - they had an indoor and outdoor set of restrooms. I watched the sunset while watching the knicks game at the bar. There's no doubt I'll go back there, thanks Riva !

I had scoured Eater's New Haven section earlier that day and seen BAR mentioned for where to get apizza. We traveled into the quaint-ish New Haven core and parked on the street. Luckily, they had just opened, so we were seated upon arrival. We got two pies: the Clam Casino and the Portrait of New Haven. The PoNH was good. The ricotta was a nice contrast to the sausage and red peppers. The Clam Casino was worth the journey by itself, however. It turns out clams on a pizza is a great idea. Large whole clams and bacon with cherry peppers? Damned right. I wasn't familiar with New Haven brand ("apizza" as I've now been told), but the char on the bottom from the wood-fired oven is crucial at holding some topping combinations to a higher echelon than others (where it deflates others): see the other-worldly good Clam Casino versus this-could-be-better-without Portrait of New Haven. Regardless, the Clam Casino would be a go-to if I lived anywhere near here. The inside is huge. We sat in the main barroom. It was warehousey, but a pool table and picnic tables for large parties gave it a cool vibe. I enjoyed watching the bar staff have to hunch under the bar opening, which doesn't hinge up, as we waited for our discs 'o dough.

DO…read moreNOT! 1st of all, they take a long time to get back to you and yes, I understand they are busy people.. but if you're running a business for starters how about you hire someone who can just take the calls and return them for you? Just a option. 2ndly, I did in fact speak to ERIC- the owner . Clearly from the get go I can feel that he didn't want to do business with me once I mentioned this will be a small gathering for my new baby and home and we will only be feeding a number of 27-30 people. If you have their services for (this amount of people) you're looking to spend over $800.00. So I obviously needed more options. He said for drop off only will run me $450.00 + tax. I told him once my husband gets back from work I will relay this to him. I did get back to Eric a couple days later and needed a rundown of the menu. He told me a couple thing there, mac cheese, pulled pork, rolls, thighs and legs. Potato salad. That's it. To be honest, through out the weeks I always reached out back to him and showed consistency. This guy didn't want to be bothered lol. I'm about to order this food and want to know more and what I will be ordering and It was obvious he didn't want to take my order. 1ST, It would take him days outta time to return my calls, or texts. Or he would give me a excuse that he was spending the day with his daughter. MORE THAN ONCE. A big gap to get returned calls was very accurate. So when he did return my call, he kept talking fast, trying to push me aside with my questions, and told me more than once when I called back 'Oh I thought you weren't going forward with it''?? HOW? I been trying to do business with him and this feels more like a bad date gone wrong. LOL!! He apparently from ALLLL his reviews has only done big extravagant weddings, job parties, etc. That's fine. Just next time how about you be a little more specific about this instead of brushing customers aside. SHAME ON YOU! Last time I spoke with this character Eric (when he returned my call) I wanted to find out other options with the chicken that will be served. {which I will pay extra). He told me the menu was not to be changed or substituted for anything else. Literally I just been in this annoying back and fourth since March and you're telling me you can't change thighs and legs for chicken wings because its expensive? So what am I paying for then? Besides the obvious. I tell you this guy is not right. So good luck! Make smart choices and don't go based off these all positive reviews on him. Pathetic.

First off I would just like to applaud the food quality of your catering service. It was amazing…read moreand done very well. The reason for this email is that I would like to address some issues with your head chef of the evening, Lawrence. Towards the end of the night we received several complaints about his behavior. My father went into the back office to find Beth, the woman in charge of the wedding venue, crying and in pain after interaction with Lawrence when she suggested they get another rack for the chairs because she thought the chairs were stacked too high, and was afraid they would fall, in which he responded with "Beth, how long have you been working here?" she said 3 years, and he replied "well then you should know what you are doing" in a rude tone. Then he proceeded to move the rack of chairs while Beth was still standing directly behind them and rolled the rack right over her foot, injuring her toe even for her to be crying in the office. Her toe was swollen and red. This is just completely unacceptable. Secondly, my husband's sister said when she came out of the bathroom, Lawrence started hitting on her and making her feel uncomfortable. Third, he was cursing in front of guests, making them feel uncomfortable and pretty much having no shame about it. Fourth, he walked straight into my husband in a doorway in passing, more than likely accidentally, knocking him aside without saying a word. Furthermore, most of the staff seemed, over-worked, unenthusiastic and whenever a guest had a question or concern, they were either treated rudely or shortly. I know you were only there briefly, but I find this behavior completely unacceptable considering the amount of money we have paid your company for your services. Your food was exceptional, but the service was not. The bartenders were splendid. I have suggested that Beth, tell Katherine, the woman in charge of bookings at Branford House, exactly what happened, which will not reflect well in the future with your relationship with that venue. Overall, you assigned a head chef who injured a staff member, walked into my husband the groom and said nothing, was cursing in front of guests, and hit on my sister in law making her uncomfortable.
