Such a cute place by the water in West Haven. We had already eaten and just wanted a drink and to check out the restaurant for a future meal/experience. We sat at the bar and were greeted immediately by a friendly bartender. She took our drink orders, gave us menus to check out and answered a few questions. Very friendly and professional, made us feel like regulars. Because of this we stayed a bit watching the CO Avalanche play. We decided to try their wings. Glad we did. The buffalo sauce was very tasty, cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside, cooked perfectly. The bar area is immaculate as was the restaurant. We look forward to enjoying a meal in the near future

We ordered take out today for our first time. My husband got the steak and cheese sandwich that comes with fries but he also wanted to try curly fries. It comes with a side of coleslaw and he wanted some more so he ordered a pint of it lol He let me know the sandwich was fabulous with just the right addiction of peppers and onions with cheese. The curly fries were just right with their seasoning. Their regular fries are thin and perfectly done from the fryer. I ordered the chicken Parmesan without the Parmesan (if you wonder why the picture looks funny it's because I'm lactose intolerant) it also comes with coleslaw and fries. The chicken is a great serving. Two large pieces of chicken on each half of the sandwich. The chicken was moist yet had a great layer of breadcrumb and the sauce complimented the sandwich nicely. We got the meatball appetizer which comes with bread. The meatballs were tender and tasted like a mixture of pork and beef with their rich flavor. My husband ordered a slice of their ice box cake. They used graham crackers as their base and it created a great bite with the cold layers of pudding. Take out was ready in under 15 minutes and everything was served warm when we got it home. The restaurant was super busy and we love how bright and open the sitting area is since the restaurant opened it's a welcome addition to the beach area and with outdoor seating during the summer is a lovely atmosphere. 5 stars!

The Burger with cheese. Come with Fries & great coleslaw.

As usual, very good in all aspects. Hats off to Lou & Geno. We have eaten here multiple times and everything is always good.

First time here, met a friend for lunch and sat in the bar at a hi-top. Such a nicely renovated restaurant. You can see they took pride in the updates. Plenty of seating, no wait for lunch on a Friday noonish. Waitress was extremely nice and very attentive. There are several delicious items to choose from and I was having a hard time! Started off with the stuffed clam which is plenty for two people. I could not have eaten all four myself. They were stuffed with mozzarella and definitely had fresh clams in them. Flavorful and nicely broiled with a little crisp on top. I decided on the steak tacos for lunch and my friend had the Cajun chicken (forgot the picture). She enjoyed hers and it was a decent side sub roll with Cajun chicken breast, lettuce and tomato. She seems happy with it. There were 3 steak tacos, nice simple presentation. I'm always Kerry about ordering steak since it may be dry. I was pleasantly surprised. The beef was very tender and not dry with a nice bit of avocado on top. Definitely would get those again. The menu had lots to choose from so we'll definitely have to come back and try some other things. My only negative comment is that my second Bloody Mary was not as good as the first, kind of just lacked flavor and tasted like tomato juice. The first was delish! Definitely stop by for dinner or lunch nice bar area with plenty of seating and very bright. See you there soon!

We were in New Haven during Yale commencement. (Our daughter received her MFA). All restaurants near Yale were packed and my wife was looking for something low key and not too far away. This was perfect! We got a great reservation time. The staff were friendly and funny. The food was fabulous. Appetizers, drinks and entrees were all excellent and service was great. The place is small but cozy. And the bar had a very friendly easy going vibe. I would absolutely recommend it. It's easy to get to and just outside of New Haven proper. The other nice thing is it's across the street from a park and the water! Great for after dinner stroll and catch the sunset! Highly recommend

Yummy! The empanadas I had were delicious! The wait staff read us the specials and they had me tempted as well, making my mouth water. They were patient with us, even though our group was being chatty and taking awhile to decide which was probably annoying and greatly appreciated by my group who was catching up! The outdoor area is absolutely beautiful and pleasant. I will definitely be back to try additional items on their menu.

The owners of Oak Beach bar grill did a beautiful job remodeling the restaurant and bar. It is in a good location across from the beach. There is a clean, crisp, nicely decorated ambience. We only had drinks today, but the menu looked like it had a nice selection for everyone. Service was great, and the company was sensational!

PF Teres Major Teriyaki, fried broccolini m, roasted potatoes w/ ketchup added by patron.

We decided to return for a second experience at this welcoming bar/grill. We were very disappointed to find them not open on Thursday evening Oct. 31st. Not sure if new hours or a holiday closing. We tried again 2 weeks later @ 5:30 & found the bar full & the dinning room filling fast. We tried several new to us entrées only to be once again delighted in presentation & taste. The PF Teres Major Teriyaki was melt in your mouth w/o an over powering Teriyaki sauce. The fish & chips once again were hot, flaky & hit the spot. Definitely worth our return visit. Apologies for several pieces of P. Filet & some fish already being eaten.

Happy Easter Day to everyone who celebrates Christian Faith…read more My Sister and I had reservations for dinner at one of the best restaurants in West Haven, in most people's opinions. Duffy's is an Irish American Pub/Restaurants owned by Christopher Walsh. Being a holiday, Duffy's is offering both their traditional and brunch menu options. The dining room and bar is decorated with strong oak furniture, tables and chairs. The historic backdrop is filled on the walls throughout the restaurant of baseball, football, political heroes and of course, a touch of Irish heritage and American pride. The staff immediately make you feel welcome and right at home with their warm demeanor and bright smiles. My Sister had the Brunch Wrap with a side of Home Fries (Sorry no picture) I had to Slow Cooker Pot Roast with Mashed Potatoes and Broccoli and Carrots. Washed it down with 2 Smith Wick's Irish Red Ales. Our waitress today was Kenzie.... She was attentive and polite, did a very good job, especially with it being very busy. Highly recommend visiting Duffy's for any occasion, holiday or any other reason?

Once we walked inside, I was smitten. Duffy's is that neighborhood pub you find across the pond, beautifully decorated and with a great vibe. The place was clean and our waitress was the sweetest. After getting some recommendations from the waitress, I ordered the fish and chips. These were different than what I'm used to. Instead of a big piece of fish, I two small pieces of fish. It was interesting and there was nothing special about them. The coleslaw was okay, as were the French fries. One of my friends ordered a steak (medium rare) and it was tough and overcooked. Overall, the food wasn't great, but the ambiance made up for it. Would I return to have a pint at the bar? Absolutely! Would I come hungry next time? Probably not.

Gave my name she said 20 mins. I walk in the bartender was sitting at the bar on her phone. I told her I was there for pickup. She said she didn't have any orders waiting. I took out my phone and read the number I dialed to her and asked if it was correct because that's what's on their website- She said she didn't know the phone number and said I probably called the wrong place. I dialed the number and sure enough the phone at the bar started ringing. She said oh I don't know what happened. We arrived on a Monday around peak dinner time, but there was essentially no wait (apparently uncommon according to my friend -- just a delightful consequence of dining at a college town during the summer). We split a medium pizza (1/2 elote mexican street corn and 1/2 bbq brisket), proving to be more than enough for two plus a more than ample amount of leftovers. Recently, I've gravitated toward thinner pizzas, a far cry from the typical Detroit (foccacia-esque) style pizzas I used to prefer, and BAR's pizza is akin to a flatbread yet very thin, another fallen angel to the GLP's. The undercarriage boasts a brilliant crust, almost cracker-like. However, it should be noted that the pizza is indulgent all the same. The elote pizza is quite possibly the most memorable, unique pizza I've ever had; it arrives almost crimson-red with a generous layer of corn and takis atop. It's still incredibly well balanced despite the hodgepodge of varied toppings. It's hard to pick a favorite between this and the bbq brisket though; while one is incredibly unique the other is simply sumptuous, nothing pedestrian about either of the two. The service is also impeccable, almost rivaling that of southern hospitality. I always thought Californians were friendly but something is in the air every time I visit New Haven. Incredible!

Attention EVERYONE! If you are having a small get together do NOT call these people. I REPEAT! DO…read moreNOT! 1st of all, they take a long time to get back to you and yes, I understand they are busy people.. but if you're running a business for starters how about you hire someone who can just take the calls and return them for you? Just a option. 2ndly, I did in fact speak to ERIC- the owner . Clearly from the get go I can feel that he didn't want to do business with me once I mentioned this will be a small gathering for my new baby and home and we will only be feeding a number of 27-30 people. If you have their services for (this amount of people) you're looking to spend over $800.00. So I obviously needed more options. He said for drop off only will run me $450.00 + tax. I told him once my husband gets back from work I will relay this to him. I did get back to Eric a couple days later and needed a rundown of the menu. He told me a couple thing there, mac cheese, pulled pork, rolls, thighs and legs. Potato salad. That's it. To be honest, through out the weeks I always reached out back to him and showed consistency. This guy didn't want to be bothered lol. I'm about to order this food and want to know more and what I will be ordering and It was obvious he didn't want to take my order. 1ST, It would take him days outta time to return my calls, or texts. Or he would give me a excuse that he was spending the day with his daughter. MORE THAN ONCE. A big gap to get returned calls was very accurate. So when he did return my call, he kept talking fast, trying to push me aside with my questions, and told me more than once when I called back 'Oh I thought you weren't going forward with it''?? HOW? I been trying to do business with him and this feels more like a bad date gone wrong. LOL!! He apparently from ALLLL his reviews has only done big extravagant weddings, job parties, etc. That's fine. Just next time how about you be a little more specific about this instead of brushing customers aside. SHAME ON YOU! Last time I spoke with this character Eric (when he returned my call) I wanted to find out other options with the chicken that will be served. {which I will pay extra). He told me the menu was not to be changed or substituted for anything else. Literally I just been in this annoying back and fourth since March and you're telling me you can't change thighs and legs for chicken wings because its expensive? So what am I paying for then? Besides the obvious. I tell you this guy is not right. So good luck! Make smart choices and don't go based off these all positive reviews on him. Pathetic.

First off I would just like to applaud the food quality of your catering service. It was amazing…read moreand done very well. The reason for this email is that I would like to address some issues with your head chef of the evening, Lawrence. Towards the end of the night we received several complaints about his behavior. My father went into the back office to find Beth, the woman in charge of the wedding venue, crying and in pain after interaction with Lawrence when she suggested they get another rack for the chairs because she thought the chairs were stacked too high, and was afraid they would fall, in which he responded with "Beth, how long have you been working here?" she said 3 years, and he replied "well then you should know what you are doing" in a rude tone. Then he proceeded to move the rack of chairs while Beth was still standing directly behind them and rolled the rack right over her foot, injuring her toe even for her to be crying in the office. Her toe was swollen and red. This is just completely unacceptable. Secondly, my husband's sister said when she came out of the bathroom, Lawrence started hitting on her and making her feel uncomfortable. Third, he was cursing in front of guests, making them feel uncomfortable and pretty much having no shame about it. Fourth, he walked straight into my husband in a doorway in passing, more than likely accidentally, knocking him aside without saying a word. Furthermore, most of the staff seemed, over-worked, unenthusiastic and whenever a guest had a question or concern, they were either treated rudely or shortly. I know you were only there briefly, but I find this behavior completely unacceptable considering the amount of money we have paid your company for your services. Your food was exceptional, but the service was not. The bartenders were splendid. I have suggested that Beth, tell Katherine, the woman in charge of bookings at Branford House, exactly what happened, which will not reflect well in the future with your relationship with that venue. Overall, you assigned a head chef who injured a staff member, walked into my husband the groom and said nothing, was cursing in front of guests, and hit on my sister in law making her uncomfortable.
