Met friends here today for the weekend brunch, my first visit. It's small and they don't take reservations so we had a 40 minute wait. Nice place, family friendly. The breakfast sandwich was delicious, good portion of high quality ham. Side of bacon was overcooked but edible. Food was better than the service. We had to wait for our brunch cocktails until after our food was served, but they were tasty once we got them. Had to ask for everything, refill on water, syrup for French toast, salt and pepper. I enjoyed my pizza, but I'm not 100% sure if I would come back again. My friends and I went in for dinner on a Thursday evening at 6:30PM. There were a good handful of diners waiting to be seated. Luckily, one of my friends arrived early, so we were able to skip the wait. We all loved the ambiance of the restaurant! It has a nice open layout with light industrial style accents. Our server was sweet and provided great service! She seemed to be juggling quite a few tables, and there were a couple of times where we were waiting on either food or service for longer stretches of time, but we didn't mind as we had a lot to catch up on. My friends ordered the Street Corn Dip appetizer, and it unfortunately came out frozen in the middle. Our server apologized, got us a new one, and explained that it apparently had happened to other diners as well. Some parts were still cold even with the second one, but my friends enjoyed the taste of the parts that were cooked. They were just disappointed by the food quality and highly recommend against ordering it, as the cooking issues seem to be commonplace. I ordered the Dr. Pepe pizza as well as the Hot Honey Pepperoni which was ordered to-go for my husband. The Dr. Pepe pizza was definitely tasty, but my favorite part was the crust. This place definitely nailed it. My only complaint is that the garlic cream sauce, while delicious, didn't give me enough garlic flavor. Keep in mind though, this may just be a personal preference because garlic is my middle name and I don't mind heavier garlic flavoring. I was expecting a much stronger garlic taste, but it was pretty light and easy to miss. This caused the overall taste to be a little bland, so I highly recommend ordering their ranch to dip it in, because the ranch definitely saved the blandness. Their ranch is different, but good. It's kind of like a mix of the flavors of spinach artichoke dip and ranch - interesting but super tasty. My husband has discovered a new love for hot honey pizzas since moving to Utah, so he of course had to try this one. He said it was good, but he's had much better. It was heated pretty inconsistently so some bites were piping hot and others were fresh from the fridge cold. For $14 for dip I expected more. The entrees were great though. The pot pie was deconstructed and the "biscuit" on top was nicely layered and went with the filling really nicely. I've had this place bookmarked for a while and finally had a chance to get there Friday night. The wait was just over 1 hour which is normal around here on weekends. The host was polite, and personable. I was in a group of 2. The server quickly came out to get our order. I choose the oak burger as I read it was revamped last year, and it's a popular menu item. My partner had the steak salad. The wait for food was over 30 minutes. When my burger arrived it looked good but I took a bite. It wasn't just over cooked, it was burned. The patty was completely black, and hard as a hockey puck. The patty is obviously from frozen as it was really thin, and the burger was mostly bun. I did not eat it. The fries were crispy but had no flavor, I didn't eat that either. My partner's steak salad was also over cooked, not worth the price. I did tell my server about the burned burger. She was gracious about it. I understand the situation in lack of help, but do not send out burned food. The cook knew it, but still sent it out. That means you have a place that does not care about what they do. This restaurant is a waste of time for really bad food. I do not mind waiting for a meal, but this place has nothing worth waiting for. read more

We visited Oakwood on a Saturday around 11:30 a.m. with a party of seven. They do only have two tables that fit a larger group so the wait time was about 30 minutes, but they did have some four tops available so if you are a smaller group you could have snagged a table easily. Everything we order was so delicious! The Loco Moco with an over easy egg was smooth and creamy and salty, just everything it needed to be. The breakfast potatoes were on point and the perfect crispness! Steak was tender and the scrambled eggs were buttery and rich. The house salad was well prepared and the dressing added a refreshing tartness to balance out the spicy arugula and salty Parmesan. The waffles were crisp and buttery and the fruit was fresh and sweet. We ordered with a side of bacon and a side of sausage, if you were choosing one, I would go for the sausage, it is homemade and flavorful! The crème brûlée French toast was a more sugary option but was balanced well, you could definitely share with two people. The chicken and waffles were probably our least favorite item, the chicken was heavily spiced, but it was still good and the sweet waffles balanced it out a bit. The inside of the restaurant is super cute and decorated so nicely. The whole restaurant has a cool vibe to it. The food is delicious and we all really enjoyed our meals. The only reason I didn't give this establishment five stars is because our food was a little slow to come out both times and when we had brunch we had all finished eating before our daughters pancakes even arrived to the table. The server apologised for the delay and comped the bill though so we really appreciated them trying to make up for it.
