I don't know what happened to this place. Came here at 5:30 dying for pizza. 2 plus hours wait for a pizza. George...it's a pizza place. You can't make the sitting patrons wait 2 hours for pizza! Also my martini glass was 1/2 to 3/4 full. My wife's was filled to a decent level. Everything else we ordered was good. But this is Oakley's wood fired PIZZA. I got no pizza. Will probably never come back again. Maybe during the week. They have great pizza but seriously? I don't come up here too often usually just to ski. Decent wood fired Pizza and cheap drinks who can complain. Ambiance: Nothing to write home about, but the outdoor seating is nice on a nice day. Staff: Wait staff have always been prompt and attentive. Food: I'll admit we have pretty much only had pizza here, but the pizzas have all be good (especially for the area). In the middle of nowhere and in the midst of the apocalypse an oasis was open. It doesn't look like much but we were thirsty and hungry and stopped. What a great surprise. The service was great. Our server freely admitted she had been working for two whole days. She was spot on with the drinks and guided us to the burgers which were outstanding. The owner came by and thanked us for being there. What impressed me the most was he did everything he could to open and give a great experience not expecting huge crowds but proud of his staff, product and place. We love Oakleys. Casual dining in the Catskills at its best. The best burgers around. Thick juicy and cooked exactly as you order it. My favorite is the bacon mushroom cheeseburger with sweet potato fries.Their woodfired pizza is also excellent. It's not a big place so you may have to wait a little while for a table but it is worth it. Of course you can always eat out in the tented area with the gas heaters when that's open. George the owner is always very friendly and engaging and the staff are always pleasant and do what they can to please their customers. We go there on a regular basis. Highly recommend. We got the $10 pie as a starter & ordered some burgers to wash it down with. Plain cheese pizza has never been so yummy, eyes rolling to the back of your head good. To name some are the wings, mozzarella sticks, pizza, fries, salads, chicken sandwiches and a few other items I don't remember right now. My favorite item is the blackened chicken sandwich. It has got to be the best chicken sandwich I have ever had. It was so juicy and flavorful, I have never had a chicken sandwich so good, I had a side salad with mine instead of the french fries and I used the sauces that dripped out of the chicken sandwich as my salad dressing instead of the salad dressing. I would grab a fork full of salad and rub it in the drippings left over on the plate which made the salad taste even better. This place is very busy at times and rightfully so. It is definitely the best food in the area. When ski season starts there can be a wait but it is worth it. The owner of the place is a really cool guy. I ordered a massive amount of food for six people and the price was more than affordable considering how amazing and quality it was. Burgers: PERFECT Pizza: Personal Greek was AMAZING and the wood fire flavor really shines. Spot on pub food, fries and Apps were great.All we had to do was reheat in our oven for a few minutes and it was still fresh! Stopped by with my husband yesterday, decided to dine in. We put in our orders for a pizza, some boneless chicken and shrimp (we had driven up almost two hours without having eaten so we had an appetite). As we waited we overheard some commotion in the kitchen about propane gas, but at no point did the waitress stop by to check up on us. After about 40 minutes, she FINALLY stopped by and said "I don't know if you've heard but we ran out of propane gas, you ordered chicken and shrimp, that's not coming". We promptly told her no, we hadn't heard anything since no one has come to our table to let us know. We asked her how much longer it would take for a pizza, she told us 20 minutes. Needless to say, we walked out. It was probably an off night for them, who knows but if someone had taken the time to check in on us, it wouldn't have made the experience such a miserable one. They should probably also look into hiring more staff, they had about 3 people tending to 12+ tables and taking to-go orders. Food was great. We sat down around 6pm with a large group, outdoors. Not too crowded, few others tables occupied. We placed our orders, apps first and then entrees. It took 2 hours to receive the apps, which consisted of a salad and boneless wings. When we inquired, the waitress informed us the cook forgot about our order and the apps should have been out already. We even saw George the owner hanging out with one table for most of the night... instead of walking around/checking on his employees/customers. 30-45 minutes later we finally get our entrees. Pitch black by then. The small red lights around the perimeter of the outdoor seating area is a nice touch for mood lighting, but we all had to use our phone flashlights to see anything on the table. Before eating at Oakley's, I was trying to convince my wife that we needed to drive to Buffalo to get wings ("Niagara to see falls"). It had been so long since I had proper Buffalo wings. But Oakley's hit the spot. They make em as good as wings get. We sat next to a wood stove while it as snowing outside, could not be more cozy. And the servers are better at their jobs than I am at my job. They were superstars. Although, the diet Coke tasted awful. I don't know what was up with the fountain machine. This is the second time we try them (because we heard new owners were running it now and it had improved) when we arrived we weren't greeted at all even though several wait staff flew by us. Finally we had to ask someone to be seated and were told to "go sit in that corner". We waited about 10 minutes before our waitress came over to ask for drinks. Apparently you eat off of paper plates there so she threw some on the table along with silverware. When she came back to drop off drinks and take our order she was very snippy. We asked for burgers and individual pizzas, one of the burgers being R and MR -- add mushrooms -- which again she sighed when asked if could add mushrooms as if it was a huge inconvenience. We then waited 20 minutes for our wings and then 1 hour and 45 mins for our actual dinner. By this time the place had cleared out when we received our appetizer of wings. The waitress disappeared completely after dropping our wings off the bartender actually came over to our table to ask if we had eaten yet and then went to the kitchen to call for our order. Order came out pizza was completely burnt and bland as can be. No cheese whatsoever and paper thin. We took one bite from the burgers but the meat tasted off and they had forgotten to add mushrooms. When we approached waitress about mushrooms missing she aggressively responded by saying "that burger doesn't come with mushrooms so I didn't bring them out" she disappeared again after dropping the food off. When we asked to speak with the owner but his response was just "sorry you feel that way" completely rude and unprofessional place. Also dirty we all were sick in the stomach that night.
