We stopped here after finishing a hike on a nearby trail. Service was excellent, as was the food. Also appreciated that it was dog friendly and we could sit on the deck with our (well-behaved) Labrador. We started with the garlic knots - which are a slice of heaven. Soft, warm, garlicky - with real garlic, not powder or granules! We each got a personal pizza and polished it off. Nice thin crust. Highly recommend stopping in. read more

Stopped here for dinner the other eve. The waitress suggested we sit by the bar for a quieter meal as there were many families with small children & the outdoor music was a bit loud even when we were indoors. We thanked her & moved to the bar area where there was a huge difference with the sound quality as we could have a great conversation of the days going on without having to repeat ourselves. I had the salad with grilled chicken and my friend had the chicken wings. The chicken wings had a nice tang to them & my salad was fresh, cold & the chicken was grilled nicely. Great little pizza joint. Cozy friendly atmosphere with good food at a reasonable price. We got 2 personal pizzas- Hawaiian and the bacon chicken ranch. Both were delicious. I wish yelp will have a no star rating because that is what this "Restaurant " deserves, in our recent travels to the Catskills we drove upon this new owner wood pizzeria we decided to stop in the account that it is a new owner, well what a mistake, place looks dirty, our table was next to the men's room and every time someone when in or out the door slam, we got a server that was obviously more interested in talking to the young boys seating next to us than serving, we ask about specials and soup and she rudely reply, "we don't do any" slam our drinks and left us a bunch of cheap paper plates, (did you ever hear about environmental conscious), after ordering their "famous" pizza we waited 1:45 for our diner when it finally arrived the crust was burn, pizza had burn mystery sausage our burgers were cold and we were missing ingredients, to that add the fact that people obviously intoxicated seat at the dining room cursing and acting like children and the owner likes to mingle and entertain that. when we ask what was taking so long we got no response ( someone forgot our order) graciously we paid but didn't eat the food, at the end of our visit I approach the owner and his excuse for the delay was that the wood delivery for the oven was green, no refund, no kindness, no business wise, he allow the server to get mouthy with me and did nothing. It is an embarrassment to bring people out to dinner and end up apologizing for places like this one, that is not the impression we want people to have of the hospitality of upstate ny, don't waste your money just because it is convenient, the burger meat wasn't even good for the dogs, yikes! so all our dinner $78 worth end up in the garbage where it belong. What a disappointment! I brought my kids here during a ski vacation to Belleayre. We arrived at 6pm on a Sunday evening. There was no place to park except along the highway. It was dark and icy and tractor trailers were whizzing by. The place was crowded and they had no one to assign tables. You were on your own to find a table, as if you were at the food court. We finally found a table, which unfortunately was right next to a bunch of extremely loud and vulgar - to put it nicely - inebriated people. They were cursing like I've never heard before. I was with my kids, and there were plenty of families around, but that didn't deter them. The food was typical bar food - burgers, pizza, chicken fingers etc. It was hard to enjoy it due to the atmosphere. Really low-class clientele for a ski town. Parents beware. read more

Ordered pizzas for our sons rehearsal dinner based on recommendations from Roxbury Barn. The night before the rehearsal Jerrod from Oakley Pizza called to say "sorry. I have another order for 50 pizzas and cannot make pizzas and salads for the rehearsal. Since we were from out of town and did not know the area, we scrambled to pull together food for our sons rehearsal. We reported to the Chamber of Commerce in Margaretville and were told they were not members. Good pizzas. Not dependable. Lousy businessman. You can decide whether to go there based on your needs. If you just finished up a day of skiing or snowboarding on Belleayre and want to avoid the expensive lodge food prices on the mountain you should head over to this place. The brick wood fire oven pizza is so good! I got the white pizza and added on some broccoli. All of the flavors were great, none of them overpowering the others, and the pizza was thin; just how I like it. Perfectly cooked, and a nice size for a personal pie! We are in town on vacation. My husband liked the wings. It was very hot in the restaurant. It seemed that the air conditioner wasn't working, but the heat from wood fired grilled was. The service was horrible. They didn't have enough staff on. She never checked in us and we waited for over 15 minutes after we asked for the check. I wouldn't go back if this was the only restaurant in town. I prefer to go to a place where there is good customer service. read more

So as a restaurant owner I take every review seriously. My family and I have been going to Oakleys for the last 8 years, always one of our must stops when we are vacationing in Roxbury. This last trip was not one of our favorites. The new owner came over to greet us, and began to talk about his food . He was very opinionated about how his food was the best and wanted our honest opinion of our food as it came out. Our garlic knits were doughy and had no garlic on them , when I told him that they didnt impress me because of this, he really didnt hear me because he was too busy bragging about himself or his food. Their pizza was ok when hot but cold it was a soggy greasy mess and we threw it out. Bottom line is food is just ok , new owner is so obnoxious, that he just talks over you and if your gonna make it in this town...actually listen to your guests and talk about them not yourself if your going to interrupt our family dinner. We wish them the best and will be sad to see this gem go downhill because the owner runs the customers away because he cant see it's about his customers and not how important his opinions are. read more

This place has a cute rustic decor and is kids friendly. We arrived around 5 p.m. They gave us paper plates and crayons for our daughter. Overall, service was very good. Pizza is NY style and not too heavy. We asked for a medium-rare burger and it was on the rare side, but it was good. Wood fired goodness on almost all the menu items, and the food is as good as the service. Gerard does a great job in the kitchen from Calzones to Pizza to Sandwiches. I've been at Oakleys by myself, and with a group of 15, and it's always consistently great. It's an apres ski must, and a mid summer delight. read more

So here's what happened. My sister was visiting from Chicago, she wanted to get some lunch. I told her the town favorite was hands down Oakley's for their wood fired pizza. When we arrived, George the owner had approached us and apologized saying they were closed. Which they are it's a Monday. I forgot. But my sister had mentioned she was in town for a short while visiting. So the owner told his employees to fire up the oven and make us some pizzas. They were there to have an employee appreciation party that day. They were all very friendly and gave great service even though we were crashing their party. Not only that but our bill was on the house. This is a great establishment who just wants to make the public happy and well fed. Well done Oakley's! read more

Ive been here twice while staying in the catskills. They have a great different variety of food selections. The wood oven pizza is probably the best. Ive had a lot of pizza before and this home made pie gets my first choice. The last time I had a burger too and it was over well done when I asked for medium well. But mistakes happen.
