I'm giving it 4 stars because our options are limited where we are, and this is the best we've had so far. One thing that's helped us like it more is asking for half the amount of cheese. Otherwise it's too much, like a lot of mediocre places that are not in pizza towns. We like their toppings, including fresh mushrooms, and it's close only 6 miles from us. They also have Stewart's soda in the cold case, including birch beer! The people are pleasant, although they do step right outside the kitchen and smoke, which can make the outside tables uncomfortable. There are a couple games inside, not a full arcade, but a happy diversion for some people, and a cozy stove (pellet or gas, i can't remember) which is really warm in winter. We've emitted stopping here after working on the house, when we're tired, hungry, and a little grubby. We're always welcomed. read more

We stopped into Pizza Plus after a hike at Mike Kill state park. I had a slice of pepperoni pizza and a buffalo chicken salad. The pizza was fantastic. It was more like a NYC slice than anything I've had near home (Rochester NY area) and it came out quickly. The salad was satisfying and flavorful. Even the desert (peanut butter pie) was fantastic. The service was friendly and the dining room was warm and spacious. If you are going to eat someplace like Grand Gorge with just a few choices, be glad Pizza Plus is one of them. read more

Stopped in on our way back to Kingston from oneonta. needed a light meal. We were greeted by incredibly friendly staff. We ordered 2 12 inch subs. these things were huge, tasty and incredibly reasonably priced! The inside was warm welcoming and quaint. While my wife and I were inside eating our pizza, which was fine, someone ran in and said my car had been smashed in the parking lot. I confronted the driver who appeared intoxicated. Turns out it was the owner's friend in an old green Mercedes who smashed into my car in the parking lot then the owner, and the driver take off before the police came. When the police arrive they call the owner and demand he return to the restaurant. He did, but lied about knowing the guy or what his name was. True story! Got treated like a punk by this clown. If that's cool with you enjoy the mid-pizza. To be fair pizza gets two stars, ambiance gets one and customer service gets none. Very sketchy owner. read more

This place is awesome! I was visiting the Roxbury area (about 8 miles down the road) but the small restaurants in the town I was visiting were too small to accommodate the influx of tourists to the area. I drove toward this business looking for another full restaurant that happened to be gone (closed) and Pizza Plus saved the night! I was hangry and annoyed that there were no good local restaurants serving some comfort food, burgers! This pizza joint truly saved my evening as I enjoyed the ample seating space and a nice yummy hot sub they sold me. The staff is super nice and while they don't have sit down service they kindly bring you the food when it's ready. read more

It was ok. Slim pickings in the area. But half of the pizza was thin and a little burnt while the other half was fluffy. We ordered only 2 ingredients on our pizza but only received one topping (paid for 2). A group of us were on a 3 day motorcycle ride and happened upon this restaurant. We ordered a couple slices, Italian sub, steak and cheese sub and a chicken parm sub. We are still talking about these subs!! They were amazingly delicious. The woman who waited on us was patient and pleasant. I give them credit for being the only food open between Hunter Mountain beyond Grand Gorge (22 miles) but the pizza is awful. I'm sorry, everyone was nice enough, the 16 year old behind the counter was well, 16 and you know what that is but hey the kid has a JOB. But the pizza was awful. Cheap filler cheese, doughy crust and the sauce was the worst pizza sauce I've had in years. So again, they're 5 stars for the 22 miles around, but I will take a gas station sandwich (Tacombie Farms and the gas station across from this place makes breakfast too!) but I'll never go back no matter how badly I want pizza. Prattsville Tavern has pizza Thurs-Sunday and it's amazing!!! Sorry folks, it's way off. read more

Don't let the outside fool you, this is hands down the best pizza I've had while visiting up here from Brooklyn. This guy knows his pizza!

This review is fair and honestly accurate. I attempted to resolve directly with the establishment, but was unsuccessful. I was told they cannot deliver because they are short staffed, but I was told that last year as well, so apparently, they cannot get their staffing issues resolved either. After my husband picked up my order and delivered it to me, almost an hour round trip in a storm, I received a terrible meal. The only edible portion was the pizza. The garlic knots were swimming in what I believed was oil, but was corrected by the owner that the pool was butter and "it's the way people like it here". Didn't realize there was a market cry for clogged arteries. I found this both unhealthy and inedible. The wings were horrific! A battered blob of nerve and fat coated and disguised as food. They were picked apart to find chicken, and basically 80% was thrown out! Finally, my Cesar salad was a ton of chopped iceberg, romaine and croutons- no dressing! For $9, I could have bought several heads of plain lettuce! I was told "it must have been forgotten." No apology, no alternate offer. It appeared the owner felt his position was to defend and justify poor food quality and poor service. I politely said I called to give him an opportunity for explanation or correction before posting any negative review. I was told to "do what I had to do", and this is it! Very, very poor customer service and very, very terrible food. Will never be back! read more

This is an unassuming gem of a pizza place. You can bring a big party of friends or get take out. Bring on the meat lover deep dish. (They also have salads). Decent wings. I have yet to try the pastas because I am SO addicted to the meat pizza. They have some desserts: slices of cake and the like, but have yet to try because I ate too much of their pizza. ;) The service is amazingly friendly, and accommodating. read more

Just stopped by this Pizza Plus location for a bite to eat as we had finished visiting cemeteries in Margaretville. Three of us ordered mozzarella sticks, Buffalo chicken wrap, French fries, order of Six wings hot, chicken parmigiana sub and three drinks. Each and every item was exactly as ordered and fresh, hot and immediately delivered to our table. The young man who took our order, made our food and delivered it to our table was polite and professional. The restaurant was clean, as well as the rest room and we were happy to have chosen this for our stop. The sauce for the mozzarella sticks was delicious and the chicken parmigiana sun sauce was outstanding. Not sure if it is the same but if this is the sauce they also use on the pizza, it is a winner! Well seasoned, hot food and fast service will definitely make me go back again to this Pizza Plus location. Thanks to the employee who did a stellar job and was so pleasant about waiting on us. We got a deep dish pizza, half meat lovers and have veggie. pretty damn Good pizza. I subtracted three stars because none of the staff was wearing a mask. And they also had a sign that said, if you're wearing a mask, you're a victim of psychological warfare. It strikes me as a little bit odd to advertise such a thing at a restaurant. read more

The best pizza we have had in a long time! The crust was perfect, tasted like french bread pizza. The sauce was fresh. My husband was very happy with the chicken wings. My eggplant parm was so good, made with garlic bread. Looking forward to going back next time we're in Grand Gorge. read more

Pizza is one of the easier things to review. I'm from manhattan and have been eating it for 50 years . This pizza is totally good . It's consistent . It's fresh . It tastes good . The service is quick . Polite. It's not overpriced . What more do you want ? Is it the best slice I've ever had ? Maybe not . Is it very good and well above average ? Definitely . The new location is clean and nice . I would not hesitate for a moment to stop in if you are hungry . To me the pizza has a vintage Dominos kind of vibe . Very consistent . Almost a little on the sweet side . It's not wood fired like Brios . But it's more consistent than Catskill Mountain pizza . Plus you get good no frills service and don't have to deal with any bs . It's definitely way better than your average NYC slice these days . Enough said . read more

Growing up in NYC I am a bit of a pizza snob. I wasn't sure what to expect in Grant Gorge. I was pleasantly surprised at Pizza Plus. My kids got pizza slices which were not bad at all (I have high pizza standards) I had a 12" meatball sub that was delicious. We will be returning. read more

Food that was expensive and terrible and nasty staff/owner. We ordered and picked up an 18" single topping pizza and one order of wings which came to $30 (well over the prices the website states). When I called and spoke directly with the owner, he could have cared less that the pizza was undercooked and we had to finish cooking it in our over, or that the wings were overcooked and had bbq sauce just dumped on them rather than being tossed. He abruptly informed me there's been a price increase for cheese and there's a sign in the store stating that. I stated the sign was great but not helpful to someone who referred to their website for pricing and already ordered food, to which he nastily informed me there's NO WAY he's going to update his website for a "temporary" price increase and could have cared less about the terrible quality of their food. Overhyped in the other yelp reviews. We got the mushroom pizza, it was fine. The raviolis and Salad were basic, but also fine. The wings and garlic knots were atrocious. Some weird soggy breading on the wings with a very hot 'mild' sauce, no ranch or blue cheese side. The knots were tough and just covered in chopped garlic. Our food was okay. But we watched them make our food and as a person that has worked in the food industry for my entire career, it was very disturbing watching the staff of 5 make every single persons food WITHOUT any gloves on. We watched a girl drop a pizza sheet on the floor and then pick it back up and use it. They were also very disorganized. They had to ask us multiple times what we were standing there and waiting for.
