My first experience here was positive; however, my most recent visit was extremely disappointing. Upon entering, I was not greeted, which initially did not concern me. However, I became increasingly uncomfortable when the cashier began continuously staring at me. It was not an occasional glance -- he watched me the entire time I was in the tequila aisle. He may have been the same chunky cashier referenced in a previous 1 star review. Even when another customer called for assistance, he only looked away momentarily before returning his attention to me and monitoring my every movement. This behavior made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. To anyone considering patronizing this establishment, I would strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere. Racism and discriminatory behavior should never be tolerated.

The flavor and texture were spot on, and the robust Cacio E Pepe made for a very nice pairing. Me? I ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara, once Chris assured me it was made the traditional way rather than doused in cream as so many places now do. And indeed, the spaghetti was textbook al dente, dressed with with egg yolk and cheese that combined into a richly satisfying sauce. The pancetta brought a touch of salt and plenty of smoky accents, making this about as top notch a version of this dish as you're likely to find in the Valley. Cannoli were sweet and rich; a wonderful palate cleanser at the end of our meal. A Pepperoni Pizza taken to go for our kids at home looked absolutely first rate. Did I mention my martini? Properly made, cool and crisp, and only $15. Quite the bargain for this side of town. Perfect for gifts or yourself. There was wine and liquor for the deal. Not sure if beer was a part of it. They do have a big variety on everything. Wine, beer, hard liquor, cigars, and even snacks. so... im about to give a scathing review of a place i go to at least 4 times a week for the pleasure of horrible service and insanley overpriced everything! I AM BY FAR WITHOUT A DOUBT THIER BEST CUSTOMER.! I DRINK AND ENTERTAIN A LOT! Ive been a regular for 17 YEARS!!!!! i frequent it because im basically across the street from it without car (carbon footprint guy). the owner (marie...although i know her given name) is just hellbent on money! She owns the whole minimart lot there BTW and all of her tenants hate her. As Max P said, most things are expired! I bought some pudding there that was SHREK themed wayyy after the movie. stupid me bought it anyways...it was coagulated and just made you gag when u opened it. I brought it back and they tried to say i didnt get it there! DUH!!! There are 6 more on your shelf! Can you imagine? i WENT A TOOK EVERY ONE OF THEM AND OPENED THEM AND SAID NOW YOU CANT SELL THESE TO INNOCENT people! Anyways, one time I'de had enough for 20,000 reasons and said no more! I grabbed 4 bottles of the piss they call wine and told them "Tell Mary She owes me 50$ for these"! And walked oout. yep I stole 4 bottles of wine. I then banned them for 5 years IN FAVOR OF GUS AT EAGLE LIQUOR ON KESTER AND MAGNOLIA and EDDIE AT YM LIQUOR ON SEPULVEDA JUST NORTH OF BURBANK! Alas Im back, and Mary gave me a sour look knowing i absconded with 4 bottles of wine in protest of thier assy-ness! but did she ban me???!!! Just moved into the area and stopped in to check out this local, small business. Upon entering, I was greeted by a young gentleman who kindly introduced himself as the owner. This is a nice spot to grab a bottle of wine or champagne as they have a varied selection! The owner made me feel welcomed and appreciated in his business and honestly that's what makes a business. I have been coming to this store for couple of years and recently the store has been remodeled and updated. It has good selection of imported and craft beers, well stocked spirits and wine along with groceries . They no longer charges fee for using credit or debit card. New employees are friendly. read more

I've been in so much just for super lotto and various scratcher as well as the occasional night cap or day snack. They have an easy but well utilized layout with small isles of items and plenty of room to navigate about. Metro Liquors off Magnolia and Van Nuys Blvd is a family run mum and pop biz with a lot of wonderful people who run it. They run out of Topo Chico often, my absolute seltzer obsession, but they have plenty of good craft brew options not to mention a solid selection of wine and spirits. Being a neighborhood market of sorts they do carry those small personal hygienic items, accessories, canned food, condiments, paper goods and even some pet related items as there are lots of dog owners and lovers in the area. Technically on the corner of Tilden and Magnolia off a small residential street just behind the Acura of Sherman Oaks dealership... You can find a fair amount of easy parking close by or if your in the area... It's a very easy one day entrance/exit for access. There's usually a good movie or TV show on the screen they have on the floor which I sometime stop and enjoy with whoever is on duty for a beat. Definitely worth checking out even for just some of the best customer service in LA, hands down.
