This market isn't a full on grocery store, but it is well located and open till 11 am. Decent size parking lot in fron, easy to come in and out. It is a cleaner liquor store with more merchandise, very good for a pick me up, gather a few things and go. Decent wine, beer, soft drinks selection. Food prices are a tad high and the variety is lacking, but if you need basic items, you will find them here. OK customer service, good option for the area. read more

Love stopping in for quick snacks and fun essentials... one of the only places to carry Celsius sparkling beverages for metabolism and fitness support and at a great price. The staff here is polite enough... they carry some grocery items like cereal, fruit, non alcoholic beverages, alcoholic beverages and canned goods... to paint a picture. The isles are long and always filled/plenty stocked. Definitely a long standing neighborhood go to market and liquor store with fair prices. In my prior review, I recommended this place because they sold hard-to-find sodas. At least, hard-to-find if you are buying just one can or bottle. So anyway, during my two recent visits, I found that they don't offer Pellegrino sodas anymore. But they still sell ginger ale (just one brand now, Canada Dry). Just for future reference, I browsed the wine section. They have many different wines including refrigerated ones. The cashier was not the same one from my first visit. But this new one was an angry man. And another but, he charged me the correct price. That's good enough for me. If you see the owner around, he is a nice and friendly man. Always love shopping here, especially the snack section, since there are really interesting things that you can find there. I bought a pack of these spicy rice cake chips and they were quite...unique in flavor. They have all of the fan favorite snackage as well, so it's great for alcohol shopping before a party! I work pretty close and have made the mistake of coming in here to buy some quick breakfast, but all I found were off-brand 2 year old cookies and bags of chips. It is March 3, 2019 and I bought a six pack of local beer (Wolf Pups) from Harvest Market for at least $2 more than at the grocery. Got home, cracked the box open and found that the expiry date on the cans was August 2018! Got scolded by my hubby who said he has repeatedly bought overpriced beer from this market that turned out to be way past its expiration date. They have everything you could need (and apparently have forgotten to buy on your larger market trips) plus an extensive alcohol section. Mostly normal stuff but even a few odder food items (capers at a corner mart?? I guess only in LA) They even have a small produce selection which 99% of the time has better prices than TJ's or Ralph's. Everyone on staff is really nice too. This place is way over-priced and has a strange smell when you walk in. Most of their stock is expired and probably hasn't been rotated since the 90's. They also charge $0.50 to use a credit card and staff is rude. (It's ok to smile!) Seriously...do yourself a favor and keep driving to a 7-11. It will be a better use of time and money! read more

I'm giving three stars because the selection is good and service was fine but I have concerns about their practices in terms of keeping fresh beer on their shelves. Stopped in here last night as I needed to grab a couple grocery items and was on my way to a friend's and also wanted some beer. I will say they had a pretty nice selection which was impressive for a small shop. I grabbed one of my favorite 22oz bottles and my groceries and carries on. Got decent customer service. I get to my friend's house and open the beer. It is spoiled! It tasted awful- I'd had this beer many time so I know it was a flaw in the beer and not just something not suited to my palate. Tasted strongly of vinegar. I checked the bottle for a out of code or bottling date- it was dated 2014! I also noticed some residue floating around at the bottom of the bottle. Considering the beer was so old it concerns me that they don't make it a habit to check and make sure their beer is in code. Most beer has a shelf life of 90-120 days so since this beer had a date that was over a year old it makes me think no one checks these! To me that's on par with not checking out of dates on food at a grocery store. I might stop back in here again in a pinch, but I'll be sure to check my beer more carefully next time. It was really a bummer to have one of my favorite beers and then be greeted by bad beer when I opened it. read more

The first time I came here I was lost with their selection of beer--There was so much to choose from! One of their friendly staff come over to assist us, and by assisting I mean recommending some of his favorite brews. This is the closest neighborhood market to my house. I like to support them, but believe they need to make some changes as it concerns their patrons who would like to purchase organic and vegetarian/vegan items. There are more and more people who are choosing to have a healthier diet, especially with rising healthcare costs and viruses. Every time I patronize them, I make sure to purchase organic and vegetarian. I will give them credit for offering vegan dairy milks, but I wish they would offer vegan/non-dairy ice cream and more organic products - beans, legumes, pasta, grains, etc. If you patronize this market, and you feel the same, please let them know. read more

Looking for an excellent collection of beer and alcohol? Look no further. While it may not have all the organization of Bevmo or Total Wine, It's local and right across the street from some Excellent Indian Food/ Donut places. The prices are what you expect to pay for craft beer. They carry Almanac, Delirium, Dogfish, Ballast Point, Einstock, just to name a few of my personal favs. The employees are friendly and the cleanliness of the store is fine. Harvest Market? Must be 'harvest'-ing a lot of filth. I was expecting this to be a decent, independent family grocery and instead I saw an enlarged 7-Eleven. Minus the Slurpees. And cappuccino machines. And any form of cleanliness. The place just reeked dirty. Mostly a liquor store, they have decent selection, but overall the prices are high. The food seems to be a mini-mart prices, which shouldn't surprise anyone, There's a Mexican food stand to the right of the market called Bronco. Also looked dirty. Looked at the menu and saw the Breakfast Burrito priced at $2.99. OK, that's fair but they went with the Dan Quayle 'potatoe' spelling. Oh, boy. Can't even spell potato right. There are so many negatives about this neighborhood "market" and I can't imagine how they're still in business, except they overcharge for all liquor. I have friends who live nearby, so I stop in every once in a while to bring something to them. EVERYTHING is old and most is expired. Baking soda - all 10 boxes were hard as a rock and expired by 2 years. The craft beer that they're supposedly known for... I was so excited to see the Stone Pale Ale because Stone stopped making it 4 years ago in 2014. I checked the expiration on the bottom of the Stone cans, and guess what, it expired 4 (FOUR) year ago, 2014. The guys behind the counter...awful. Rude, negative, argumentative about everything. UPS recommended this place as a drop off, authorized access point, without asking us permission. They COULDN'T find the package until I made a scene and said I had the paperwork and would be back with my attorney. Somehow, they found the package in 3 minutes. SKIP IT. read more

Not just a great selection of TONS of craft beer, but one of their employees is a walking encyclopedia of craft beer. I think he's tried EVERY beer in existence and can speak intelligently about every one of them. this place is wonderful. they have a sit down diner inside and a full on grocery store so you can kill two birds with one stone. i've never personally eaten here before but it looks good. their beer selection is out of this world! not to mention the owners & workers are super friendly, helpful, and are more than willing to accommodate your beverage needs. Small selection but good stuff. Come here for sours, stouts, Belgian Strong ales, and hard to find barrel aged beers. Friendly staff. People complaining about IPAs are just bad beer hunters. One of the staff seems to be their beer guy and he seems to have a good grasp of types and brands, very friendly guy and willing to try to order items if he can. Visiting Van Nuys for work and found this place on yelp. The guy, Santos, asked me what styles (beer) I am into and then cherry picked 1/2 dozen goodies from CA and OR - stuff we can't get in Texas. Cool dude and cool place. When I am in town this will forever be my go-to. Based on some of the reviews here LA must be a mecca for beer stores in terms of layout, selection, ambience and customer service because this place clearly isn't good enough for a lot of y'all.
