The doctor works in three different offices so he is only available on certain days for procedures. Does not do procedures on Thursdays and Fridays. They are not open weekends either. So I called in to schedule a touch up and there was a next day appointment available. I accepted the appointment and was given confirmation that my procedure would be in Camarillo. Around 5pm right before the office closes, i get a text message saying my appointment in Westlake has been canceled with no reason. So now im confused, do i take the day off tomorrow or is there a mix up? I call back the next morning to reschedule. I get a LASIk procedure scheduled for a Monday and they don't tell you the time until the day before the procedure. Come Friday before my procedure, I never received a call nor text nor email and its after hours and the office is closed on the weekends. Kind of an inconvenience as i have to arrange a ride and a caretaker. Fast forward to the day of my procedure. No calls or emails or texts received. I have to call and chase them down to find out whats going on. Apparently they canceled my procedure but neglected to inform me or even attempted to reach me the day of. Again i have to reschedule my appointment.

I saw 2 different doctors in Arizona and neither wanted to operate on Pterygiums so they told me to just monitor it until it affected my vision. After intensive research and the use of ChatGPT, I found a Pterygium expert named Dr Franz Michel in California. The reviews and referrals for Dr Michel's Pterygium removal were stellar and had me feeling more than hopeful. I scheduled a telephone appointment and sent Dr photos and close-ups of my eye. We talked for at least 40 minutes about options. Dr Michel was never in a rush and answered my hundreds of questions. Dr Michel is such an expert in this growth he was able to help me understand it all so much better. We decided I was a good candidate for removal of the Pterygium. The office folks were equally great getting me scheduled and help navigate costs and insurance questions. Of course my insurance was a major pain and everyone in the office worked as a team to get the surgery covered. I should note, if my insurance did not cover it, the cash price offered was extremely fair and manageable. My wife and I made the 7 hour drive from Phoenix to Oxnard and found an affordable little motel 5 minutes from the Dr office. (Seaside Inn & Motel (A little divey but was clean, safe and close to the ocean)) The day of the surgery was so calm and pleasant. They got me ready and while the numbing meds kicked-in the doctor spent another 30+ minutes talking about my eye, the surgery and the recovery. The actual surgery was easy. I was awake and felt no pain or discomfort. My feeling was that it went perfectly as planned with no surprises. The recovery was equally easy, just chill and don't rub my eye and use my eye drops. I had soreness, but nothing that wasn't expected and very easy to deal with. We stayed in Oxnard a few more days and drove home. I am now 3 weeks out and my eye is doing great. I have follow-up appointments with Dr Michel via text and phone to track my progress. Even though living far away, it was worth the trip for me. Dr Michel has many patients traveling distance so they dealt with my situation perfectly and were totally accommodating. Dr Franz Michel is the real deal with the best bedside manner. He really is The King of Pterygiums. The women who run his office are also all absolute professionals. I can't thank them all enough. Attaching 2 photos. A dear friend recommended Dr. Davidson, and I'd heard other good things about him, too. He ended up doing my surgery and it went smoothly with great results. What a feeling of liberation to be free from glasses! Not sure why I didn't leave a review at the time. I will admit that the offices in T.O. near Los Robles are very busy. That might be off-putting for some. The staff does their best to still make it feel like a personal healthcare experience. I saw several providers there and supporting techs, with Dr. Davidson doing the initial consultation and laser surgery. I have my own long-time optometrist who saw me for follow up care at another practice. It was he who confirmed that it was time for a follow up "tune-up" of one of my lens implants. Over the past four years some cloudiness had formed, which isn't unusual. Back to Dr. Davidson to confirm that a Yag laser quick procedure should fix me right up and back to clear vision. The most challenging part of this process was having my eyes dilated for the exam, and then a second day for the actual procedure. It takes a while for my eyes to return to normal. Yesterday I had the Yag zapping, and it was extremely fast and I didn't feel a thing. Even leaving the clinic with heavy sunglasses on I could tell right away that a positive difference had been made. Dr. Davidson did his magic again! Today I am really enjoying my improved vision.

I met with Dr. Davidson to discuss cataract surgery and lens options. I was very myopic at the…read moretime. He showed me a binder with the different lenses and I decided on the mid-range lenses that would give good distance, mid-range and close up vision. I scheduled the surgery for my first eye. Two days before the surgery, I received a call saying that those lenses were not available in my power (they didn't go high enough) but he could still insert them and do a "touch up" Lasik surgery. He didn't know that at the time of my appointment? (I was never even a candidate for Lasik surgery due to other eye conditions.) I cancelled my surgery because he clearly wasn't paying attention to my eyes and my vision needs and he didn't know the products he was pushing. I then consulted with another ophthalmologist and told him which lenses I had originally selected. Without skipping a beat, he immediately said those lenses didn't come in my power. Thank you! I had my surgeries with this other doctor and couldn't be happier. Steer clear of Dr. Davidson as he doesn't listen to his patients and/or is incompetent when it comes to actual cataract surgery and the specific needs of patients as individuals.

It's a new way of doing cataract surgery completely by Robotics and Laser. What intrigued me, was having the ability to adjust the lenses after placement, up to 3 times, with 90 seconds of UV light. They accepted Medicare payment as partial payment as this procedure was pretty expensive. I paid the rest out of pocket What made me a good candidate for this procedure was the fact that I didn't have any other eye problems and I had worn mono vision contacts for over 25 years so my brain was able to process having one eye dedicated to near vision and one eye for far vision, easily. It's a quick process to do because the lenses are thin and heal quickly. I had one eye done on a Monday and the 2nd eye on Wednesday. By Thursday I had spectacular, clear vision. For now I have to wear UV protection glasses inside and outside. I have my first adjustment follow-up in a week. At that time I can adjust just a little bit of my near vision. If I'm happy with those results I'll go back in and they will seal my rx with UV light as well. If they still aren't perfect for what I want, I have two more adjustments that can be made. After my eyes are sealed I have a 95% chance of never wearing glasses again, except for my Maui Jim sunglasses or course. It's truly a groundbreaking procedure and Dr Davidson and Langford are 2 of the most experienced doctors in our state and in the country, of doing it this way. Totally amazing. We arrived at 2:15 as instructed and after filling out the paperwork we waiting about an hour for her to be called in. She met with a nurse and the initial exam and then had her eyes dilated. She was then asked to return to the waiting area until she was called in to see the actual doctor. After another wait of approximately 20minutes she was taken into the room. She waited in that room for about 10 minutes until Dr. Trotter came in. Dr.Trotter invited me into the room as well and I found him to be very knowledgeable and friendly. He completed my wife's exam and explained all his findings to us both. Wait times aside we recommend Miramar Eyecare for all eye related issues. It is a very clean and professional practice.

She just told Me she will inject my eye and then she did - it WAS PAINFUL! I ended up going back to my previous eye specialist even if I had to drive 45 miles away.
