Dr. Lee is fantastic. If it was just Dr. Lee, this would be 5 stars. However, my last experience was not good/honest with other staff. I recently came in for my eye exam and I wanted to keep my same frames. The main appointment went well. I was contacted when the glasses came in and was told they were broken. Normally, I was told, customers sign waivers when they have their current frames used, since they could break. I was not presented with a waiver, and was told I need to pay a 'discounted' $200 for new frames. I get it, part of business, but when I learned that the lenses were also created too large for the frames, I was told that wasn't why they broke. With this experience, I feel the discount was not ample for what happened, knowing that the lenses were made too large for the frames. I really like Dr. Lee, but will not continue with Oaks because of this dishonesty. read more

She genuinely seems to care and makes sure to follow up on issues from past appointments just to make sure they have been rectified. The office staff are friendly and professional. We had a wonderful experience with Dr. Lee. My husband said he felt like he was at a spa because the office is aesthetically pleasing and the atmosphere is tranquil. We got a great price on glasses and contacts. They have a nice selection of frames. My son was just window shopping but he found a couple of pairs that he looked cute in. Been going here for about 7 or so years and absolutely love it! Both Dr. Yoo and Dr. Lee genuinely care about you as a person! Not only are they super professional but also very personable. It was a Thursday morning, we arrived before opening. Walking into the store, we were amazed at the selection of glasses that covered the walls! The store was so beautifully maintained. Being the first to be examined for the day, the staff as so kind and respectful. They did mandatory temperature checks and we all wore masks. She (didn't catch her name) was so friendly as she did all the pre-exams. Dr Lee was right on time and she asked all the appropriate questions. She did a thorough exam and suggested the type of glasses I needed. The staff was very helpful with helping me choose and suggesting both a regular pair and one for the sun. They didn't mind that I had someone on the phone also trying to help me decide. Love the two girls up front. I didn't catch her names but I love the enthusiasm they portrayed when I was so indecisive and had about 20 different glasses laid out on the table! Nice to know they sterilize them after each use. Dr. Lee is one of the most caring optometrists I have ever met. Too many times have I gone to other health professionals only to feel like I was being rushed out the door while paying way too much for a cursory check. I came a total of five times in March to check on my red eyes that weren't going away. Each visit was just as caring as the first. I was visiting Newbury Park from the Bay area, but having found such a great doctor is a bittersweet feeling because I wish I could easily keep coming back. If you're looking for an optometrist, please consider Oaks Optometric Center! You won't be disappointed. The front staff is equally as kind and the office is extremely clean as well. The experience was great with a fantastic optometrist! My only complaint is the cost of contacts. For the Acuvue Oasys daily contacts, the cost was $130 per box (90 lenses). I had been paying $96 per box in Rhode Island, so I called three other optometrists in the local area. Their cost ranged from $100 to $105 per box. An average markup of 30% is quite high, in my opinion. read more

After I got the phone call from the owner, she refunded the difference. Then after me telling her I had problems with serious glare on my new lenses, she looked up my file and turns out they had replaced the defective lenses with a type of lens I did not ask for. Unfortunately, since I had recently moved and was driving 4 hours each way to come pick up my new frames after they replaced the defective ones, I wasn't about to make the drive back up to Newbury Park for them to order the right lenses, and then come back to pick them up, and be without glasses for however long that would take. She did offer to fix it, though. I just don't know how much more clear you can be than saying "a basic, plastic lense". All I can say is that the owner did try and fix every mistake. Mistakes that shouldn't have been made, but none being her fault. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Lee and Dr. Yoo for several years now. Every time I go the staff is very friendly and professional. Dr. Lee is always kind and patient and answers all of my questions. The location is clean, they accepted my insurance, and had a bunch of choices of high end glasses. This location is owned by two married Optometrists. Both are super patient and explain every step they are doing and take their time with me to explain everything in a manner I can understand. Parking is great and I've always seen the Drs. at my appointment time, not 10 minutes after, not 60 minutes after. One can really appreciate that versus a Target or Costco optometrist center.
