Ham and cheddar breakfast sandwich on a Plain Bagel.

I received better customer service here than a five star restaurant! Absolutely outstanding! We ordered two breakfast sandwiches on bagels and a cold brew coffee. We waited for our food at a table outside and when it was delivered, the staff noticed the meat and cheese was transposed onto the opposite bagel choices and was going to bring them back. We were fine reassembling them ourselves and appreciated the offer. I added sugar free vanilla syrup to my cold brew and it was great. The prices were in the high end, but it was WELL worth it due to the high quality ingredients and epic customer service.

I originally rated this place with 5 stars. We came back here for breakfast and coffee. I ordered a cappuccino and a latte with coffee grounds was served. I took it back to the young girl dressed in pajamas to remake it. The second cappuccino came out and it was NOT EVEN a latte....no foam and Luke warm, it took about 15min too and no one was in there. I opted for a cold brew because it seems like you havnt trained your employees on how to make various coffee drinks. If you're going to offer lattes/cappuccinos/frappes... teach your staff the difference between them. NO ONE SHOULD PAY FOR A 4-5$ coffee if you don't know what you're doing. Make it worth the money and I don't mind paying 6$ for a coffee. Train your staff on coffee drinks PLEASE or don't serve it

Everything bagel toasted with cream cheese.

Fresh egg cooked made to order. Bagels are soft but chewy and the toppings are on the lighter side but still very flavorful. Jalepeno cream cheese has good flavor, seems like a plain cream cheese with chopped pickled (jarred Jalepeno) which creates a vinegar bite. Bagels are thicker and smaller but have good air pockets. Simple menu and plenty of inside and outside seating. Offers military discount so deserves a visit if you're in the area!! Service was quick but expect a minute if you order with an egg as it's made fresh.

HIDDEN GEM While on…read moremy merry way to pick up something from the print shop next door, I noticed a walk-in coffee shop. Without having huge expectations, I ordered a coffee. It was great. I went back the second time and that's where the excitement began. Instead of going in to order quickly, I took a gander around and noticed there's a whole clean, spacious, aesthetic seating area! This coffee shop is a beautiful hidden gem and I am so grateful it's in Goodyear! The coffee? 1000% better than your favorite Starbucks or Dutch Bros drink (trust me, their coffee/tea literally sparkles if your request it; and I'm not being figurative here). I didn't know I wanted my coffee to be beautiful until I came here. The choices of drinks they offer are endless--nitro, cold foam, SO many types of flavors and delicious sweeteners. Don't enjoy your coffee sweet? Cool, they'll make it "half sweet," or none at all. Go ahead and customize your drink; they're experts. The atmosphere? Spacious and calm enough to bring your work from home materials to a table in the lobby / have a friendly conversation at one of the comfortable seating arrangements. The employees? Everyone from the back of the house staff (cooks, coffee gurus, etc.) to the customer service at the front desk are obviously happy to work there; they're friendly and great at their jobs. Lastly--not that this is even required at a coffee/tea shop--but, the food is delicious. Every detail of what Enroute offers is intentional and has been carefully curated. The turkey avocado sandwich with fries is my new favorite Friday lunch treat. You can order honey mustard, ranch, or red pepper aioli dip, which is all made from scratch. You won't get frozen foods or Hidden Valley Ranch packets at this coffee/tea shop location. Only the very best. If you can't tell, I highly recommend! Thank you for the attention to detail, Enroute team. We can tell you're putting your heart into it.

First, I was really impressed with the service! My order was ready when I arrived about 10 minutes after placing it, even though they were SUPER busy. I thought that was great timing. The caramel iced coffee was surprisingly really good! It was sweet without being overly sweet, and the cold foam was a nice addition. I got a large during their $1.99 coffee deal, so it was definitely worth it. For a place that doesn't specialize in coffee, I was impressed! The twice-baked hash brown was just okay, but that may have been partly my fault because it was slightly cold by the time I ate it. I think I would have enjoyed it more fresh and hot. Unfortunately, the pumpkin pull-apart bagel was where things went downhill. The bagel itself had a good flavor, and I was really excited to try it with the pumpkin cream cheese spread. However, the spread tasted STRONGLY like onion and chives. There were even actual pieces of onion in my pumpkin cream cheese! My best guess is that the same scooper was accidentally used between the onion and chive cream cheese and the pumpkin spread. Either way, pumpkin + onion is a combination I never want to experience again. It completely overpowered the first bite, and I couldn't get the onion taste out of my mouth. I ended up using my coffee as a palate cleanser and eating the rest of the bagel plain, which unfortunately made it pretty dry. Overall, the service was fast, the coffee was great, and the bagel itself had potential. I'd definitely come back, but I really hope they're more careful about cross-contact between the different cream cheese flavors because surprise onion in pumpkin cream cheese was ROUGH.

We've spent a lot here over the years and have always supported and recommended this location. That's why my son's recent experience was so disappointing. He stopped in to get some work done, something he's done many times during slow hours. Sometimes he buys something, sometimes he doesn't, and it has never been an issue. This has always been a welcoming place. This time, a staff member told him he couldn't sit and work unless he purchased something. What made it worse was the explanation: a table of eight older gentlemen "didn't like" that he was sitting there working, and that was the reason he needed to leave or buy something. It wasn't busy, it wasn't about space, and it wasn't about a policy. It was simply another group of customers not liking his presence, and the staff acting on that. After years of loyalty, that was incredibly disappointing. If there's a new policy, that's fine, just communicate it clearly and apply it consistently. Asking a long‑time customer to leave because another table "didn't like" them is not acceptable. This experience genuinely made us rethink continuing to support this location.

We actually followed the owners here after frequenting their previous coffee shop, En Route. When they opened New Penny, supporting them was an easy decision. The café is thoughtfully divided into two distinct spaces: a family-friendly dining area and a lounge-style bar area geared more toward adults. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and inviting. There are house-made dishes, local merchandise, a shaded patio, and plenty of charm throughout. My wife's favorites are the Breakfast Totchos and the Acai Bowl. Personally, I am also a loyal Breakfast Totchos fan. As for drinks, the Copper Coin and the legendary Cowboy Latte are both worth ordering. What truly sets New Penny apart, however, is the people. The owners and staff have created a space that feels inclusive, welcoming, and genuinely connected to the community. Support local businesses. Better yet, support local businesses that are doing things the right way. Get to know the owners. Get to know the staff. Places like New Penny don't just serve food and coffee--they create gathering places. Whether you're meeting a friend, taking a business meeting, enjoying a date, or simply looking for a quiet place to sit by yourself, New Penny delivers. It's cozy, inviting, and the overall vibe actually put me in the mind of First Watch. They've created a space that feels like somewhere you could sit down, relax, and enjoy a nice breakfast or brunch. I tried the PB&J Protein Shake. It was good, but would I personally order it again? Probably not. Now, the Cookie Butter Latte Frappe with extra whip? DELICIOUS. That one absolutely gets a repeat order from me. I also took a look at the menu--the sign encourages you to grab one and look it over--and I have to say, several of the food items sound really good. So next time, I do plan to sit down, order some food, and give the full dining experience a try. Now, here's where there is definitely room for improvement: customer service. I wasn't greeted when I walked in, and the interaction felt a little standoffish. Nothing terrible happened, but hospitality matters. When you have a cozy atmosphere and a promising menu, the customer service should match that same energy. A simple "Welcome in!" and a warmer interaction can make a major difference in someone's overall experience. There's a lot I like about Penny Cafe, and I definitely see the potential. I'll be back to try the food and that Cookie Butter Latte Frappe again. Hopefully, on my next visit, the customer service will be just as inviting as the atmosphere.
