I wish I remembered the name of the service guy, but he was on time, super friendly, and knowledgeable. He gave me tips on a number of concerns, walked me through the ins and outs of my heating and humidifier systems (we just bought the house), and helped me with getting the Ecobee set up. This review is delayed from last year, but I wanted to make that I put in a good word for this company. We live in a townhome in the city and needed to replace 2 HVAC systems last spring. We got estimates from 3 companies including one through Costco. Oasis was the cheapest, including the Costco contracted company. Hani came to give us our estimate very quickly and was very thorough. Of the 3 estimates, Hani was the only one that noticed that our HVAC systems were not the same size and because of that was able to save us some money on our upstairs unit because it was smaller. They were able to do the installation within a week. We needed a crane for our AC units which that they took care of. The crane promptly took down our old units and lifted up the new units in less than 20 minutes. Hani and his crew were very professional and friendly. They also set up our Nest units for us. Hani was very prompt in responding to any questions during and after the installation. We have now gone through a summer and a winter with our new units and both have done the job well. We recently purchased a home and installed new hardwood flooring, so we wanted to make sure the humidifier was in working order. After calling up Oasis, they sent out a technician that gave us a good assessment of the old unit that was attached. They were polite and professional, and I did not feel as though we were being rushed or pressured. What they told us was simple: If the unit could be fixed, they would do so and we would be billed. However, if it could not be fixed, they would not bill us, and we could decide on next steps. The technician pointed out that the humidifier that was installed was too large for our unit, but it was also no longer in operation. So they recommended we downsize with the new humidifier. Oasis handled the purchasing and installation of the new unit, and they returned in a week to do the work. It was done in about an hour on a Friday afternoon. Easy-peesy. Payment was handled via an invoice and we had the option to pay over the phone with credit card or via mail through a check. read more

This is a tough review for me to write because while I am THRILLED with the installation and service from Mike, Asim and his crew, GETTING to the installation part has been extremely frustrating. I'm giving Oasis 5 stars because of Mike and Asim. If not for them, this would be more like 3 stars at best. So let's start with the good! Mike, Asim, Josh and the rest of the installation and owner crew were fantastic! They were prompt, clean, kind, smart and got a tricky job done. They even stayed late to try to work out an issue with an electrical volt. Above and beyond the call. If there had been no other admin assistant to have dealt with, I'd be shouting from the rooftops about this company. BUT. . . . The admin/office assistant needed a ton of hand-holding to get anything done correctly. The mistakes were countless and easily avoided, including, even after I paid and spoke with Mike at length about her (Jennifer) listing the wrong serial number on my invoice for me to register the warranty. #fail. Other issues - Not returning phone calls (but saying she thought she had), not filling out insurance forms correctly (even when given explicit and easy to understand instructions - it took 3 days of back and forth emails and 4 sets of attempts to get those forms done correctly - including one where I had to write back with the form printed, her mistakes scratched out in sharpie and highlighted for her to even see what she was doing wrong. Then two sets of emails with different times in them she said both came from her, but then said, well, no, the second didn't come from her. So which was it? Then she used a personal excuse for why she had made the mistakes, which I don't think should ever be mentioned to the client. Talk to your boss about it if you can't properly do your job. Not the client! Not professional. Then, to top it all off, the crew didn't know my unit number when they got to my condo because she had failed to put it on their paperwork. #details The thing about all this build up with the admin was that it made me EXTREMELY nervous for the work to be performed. If that's the example that the customer sees first, it's not a good one. That admin person sets the tone for the entire process. Basically, my advice with this company is this: 1) Be prepared to double and triple check each and every detail pre-installation and post with invoices and serial numbers, as the current office admin is not reliable. 2) Don't judge the company based on the current admin. 3) Expect a fantastic product and reasonable price. 3) Also expect and receive WONDERFUL service once you meet the crew. Mike should be complimented for his crew for sure. He obviously cares about the work he does and, thus, they do, and it shows. I just wish him a new, better admin, or a serious talk with her to improve! read more

Oasis did a fantastic job cleaning and servicing my HVAC system. They are fast, efficient and professional and I highly recommend them.

Hani is a godsend. We've had a horrible, cursed year with one expensive misfortune after another (including an obvious house fire), and the last thing we needed was to have our boiler stop working. We had been using Northstar all these years to service our boiler, and when they first came, they charged me $150 for a new thermocouple and then left right away. The house never warmed up, so I called them back and they said the boiler was leaking carbon monoxide, was irreparable, and needed to be replaced. Then they pressured me to fork over $8000 for installing a new boiler that they would graciously squeeze into their busy schedule. We couldn't really afford the $8000 at this time (plus no one builds solid quality boilers like ours anymore), so I called Oasis to get a second opinion. Hani came right away, spent serious time to try to diagnose the problem, and then said he thought the boiler could be fixed with a new gas valve. He wasn't 100% certain it would do the trick, and he was honest about that, but he was incredibly considerate about our situation and our preference to fix rather than replace the boiler. So we gave it a shot and it worked! But then the boiler started having some other more minor problems, and Hani spent several hours over the course of three days to fix them (probably caused by Northstar's poor servicing), and to make sure the boiler was working as it should. He also repeatedly tested for the alleged carbon monoxide and didn't find a trace of it. Hani was so intelligent, competent, professional, hard-working, honest, sincere, and compassionate that he not only earned a fiercely loyal customer, but in a year that has been downright dreadful for us, he also helped restore my faith in humanity. read more

This review is about a routine AC service call: The technician was courteous. The service for only my AC was a $225 flat fee. Heating service was not included, as they charge per the season. For $225, he gave mostly cursory glances at the units. He changed the filters, which I provided. He used a hose to wash off the grills of my outside AC unit. I expected him to get in and poke around, check the lines, remove a cover, something more invasive. He did clean out a PVC pipe in my downstairs AC unit after I mentioned a leak. There has been no leak since the service. He did check my freon, said that I was low, and charged me ~$100 to top it off. He said it may have been low because of a leak, but to decide if there was would require more work, work obviously not included in the price of this service call. If you use them for this type of service, request an itemized list of the service you can expect. For that price ($325 in all), I expected my AC units to have been more thoroughly inspected. read more

Mike from Oasis is awesome! He saved me a ton of money. My A/C died and another company came out and told me it had a leak and was 14 years old and would be a couple thousand just to find the leak. Mike looked at it, ran the serial number, told me it was just over a year old, put refrigerant in and tada, I have cold air! Told me to call him beginning of next year and he would come back and see how it was doing. Oasis is definitly my new HVAC company. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

I received excellent furnace services from Oasis. We got a service call from Josh of Oasis after we placed the call. It was a cold day and it was a pleasant surprise to get an HVAC service call so quickly. Josh was able to fix the issue very quickly but pointed out that the unit was reaching its end-of-life. A few days later the unit failed and Josh came again to get us going again. This time we agreed that the unit needed to be replaced, and we were able to get a new unit in place very quickly at a very reasonable price. read more

Their front office delivers excellent and friendly customer service: their initial confirmation email was eaten by my Junk folder, and they resent it when I called and patiently waited on the line to confirm it had come through. Jimmy, the tech, called me to let me know he would arrive within 30 minutes and gave me (a new homeowner in Chicago) a great tutorial on what heating and cooling systems require here in addition to efficiently and thoroughly checking our AC units. Highly recommend! Update 11/17/17 - Jimmy and Damir came to service our furnaces today, and the service was yet again top notch. They know their stuff and were prompt and friendly. Called Saturday evening and was told there was no after hours emergency service and they could take a message for Monday. Once again, Oasis proved that they are honest, reliable, competent and courteous. We recently had to replace a furnace, which can be daunting, but they did a wonderful job and when something needed to be tweaked shortly after the installation, they sent someone out immediately to solve the problem. All the employees I've dealt with have been wonderful but Danny deserves an extra shout-out for being particularly helpful and clever in determining (and explaining) the issue. read more

We hired them to fix our rooftop heater several months ago. The technicians tried repeatedly to get us to replace the unit at a cost of thousands by telling us the unit was more five years older than the house (and the unit). The only thing wrong with the unit was the inducer - a several hundred dollar fix. Granted, the owner gave us the correct information about the age of the unit and told us that it didn't make sense to replace. But, even after we told the technicians what their boss said, they continued to insist that the unit was older than it was and even insisted that I call the manufacturer in their presence to confirm their story. Of course, the manufacturer confirmed the correct age of the unit. The technicians' response: "It's still old. You should replace it." Fast forward a few months - the unit won't stay on. We call Oasis and they give us the runaround for a week. First they can't come because of the weather and then nobody calls us back. Eventually we get the same technician on the phone and he again tells us that we should just replace the unit and it's not even worth the cost of a visit to determine what is actually wrong with it and how much it would be to fix. Our furnace is on the roof so replacement requires a crane and is very expensive. We explained that spending a few hundred dollars to fix the problem, which could be as simple as a flame-sensor error or dirty filter, was not negotiable. He responded by saying that he could maybe come the following week. Finally, we gave up and called a different company. They were prompt and helpful. And it turns out there was nothing at all wrong with our heater -- someone left the thermostat wires exposed, which fried the thermostat connection. Because only Oasis had been on the roof, I can only assume that either they failed to properly secure the wires after they did the work the first time or they failed to notice the problem and correct it. Either is completely unacceptable given that we paid them $725 for the work they did. Had we listened to Oasis we may have paid thousands of dollars only to learn that we needed a new thermostat. Given the reviews they've gotten, we are very disappointed. I will say that the receptionist was extremely nice and friendly and I appreciated the owner's honestly in correcting his technicians. That said, the whole experience with them was extremely frustrating. read more

It's one of the first weekends with very cold temperatures and Friday evening I notice that my furnace doesn't seem to be cranking out the hot air as normal. By Saturday morning it's clear there is a problem with the flame turning off too quickly. I call 3 different heating and cooling repair companies and Oasis is the only one with a live person answering the phone. They say a technician will call me back shortly and Mike from Oasis calls me back in about 20 minutes. (I did get a call back 3 - 4 hours later from one of the other companies, and no call back from the 3rd company). I describe the issue and Mike says that it will likely be a quick job, he provides a flat fee quote, and says that there is a technician already in my area who can come by in 20 minutes. Awesome! The technician arrives and fixes the issue very quickly. Without my having to ask, he puts on shoe covers before entering my house. He even helps me out with a question I had regarding my humidifier. I have mixed reviews about this company. They came out to my residence a total of 4 times and eventually everything was completely fixed. One of the service techs that came out was awesome and extremely helpful. The problem was, I was getting different (contradicting) information from one of the other guys that came out. I spoke with the company owner at one point to just discuss my frustrations and he got very defensive and started acting unprofessional, almost picking a fight with me. I will say, the employees answering the phones are very nice and responsive. My biggest complaint is with the owner, it would be nice if he was slightly more well-spoken and professional. $1150 later, my HVAC seems to be fixed. read more

Out of nowhere, our heat went out today. We called one company and got a recorded message. We called Oasis and they had someone here in less than two hours! At first, they thought the problem was the gas valve, which would have cost almost $600. But upon further inspection, he said that the flame sensor was actually the problem, so our total cost wound up being very reasonable- less than $200! Now, he could have stuck with his original assessment, and charged us a ton of money, but he was honest. And you know what honesty earns you? Repeat business and our gratitude. My furnace went out during a cold snap in November. Mike walked me through my choices for a replacement. He alerted me to rebates that were available and the changes that will be requested by the government in 2013. Everything was as promised, install was smooth, the price came in lower than quoted and he was able to complete my install so I could take advantage of the rebates available at that time. His team of technicians were the nicest I have ever had in my home. The follow up calls after install to make sure all was in order was another confirmation of their commitment to service. read more

Great experience with Oasis today. I was frantic with a broken furnace, freezing house, sick baby and a no call/no show from another company. I called Oasis and was told that I might have to wait until after hours because they were booked until tomorrow. Completely understandable since it was 2 degrees today and I had already called another place only to get a recording that they were booked until tomorrow. Imagine my surprise when, after giving my address, I was told that someone would be here within the next hour! Not only were they on time, but they fixed my problem quickly and at a reasonable price. Our furnace broke in the winter and Oasis Heating and Cooling was very prompt in evaluating the problem on the weekend. They climbed onto the rooftop and assessed the entire unit. They found the unit was venting dangerous levels of CO outdoors and shut down the unit in abundance of caution. He showed me photo of the CO level reading his meter detected coming from our external vent. A new furnace was required and they promptly installed a new system within 48 hours. The unit is highly efficient and was priced very well. Hani, Asim and Vildan provided excellent service and did a great job installing a beautiful new unit in a vintage building which required an extensive amount of labor. They had to remove a wall and move the gas line to get the new unit installed. read more

My Realtor (Heather Siedelman who is amazing) referred me to Mike at Oasis Heating and Cooling, and I'm so glad that she did. Mike was punctual, very polite, friendly and best of all I felt that he was actually trying to save me money instead of charge me more money. He found that one of my heater pumps was broken and suggested that as it's a pretty easy fix (just a few bolts and a couple of wires) that I could order the part online and do it myself which would be $200 less than him doing it. Of course he would have done it if I didn't feel comfortable doing it myself. It's great to have people like Mike who you can trust to give honest, knowledgeable and friendly advice. This review is 5-stars for service, Oasis told me to fix my HVAC myself and I couldn't be happier with their support. I will definitely use them in the future. They could have turned my call into an expensive and unnecessary weekend service visit, however they chose to dispense some free advice and won a big supporter instead. I would highly recommend Oasis. --------Context-------------- I have a 4-year old carrier HVAC that I bought from another dealer, which has never really worked all that well (e.g. AC temperature pull-down rate is very slow ~1deg./hr). My HVAC fired up for the winter and after some use it began failing to ignite and cycled off. Turns out my flame sensor was just a bit dirty and a quick scrub with sand-paper cleared the issue up instantly. When I removed the flame sensor to clean it I was very skeptical as it looked very clean already. Long-and-short of it was 2 minutes of effort with some sand paper completely solved the issue. These guys are truly terrific. Recently had the roof replaced on our condo which required the removal and later the reinstallation of several AC units. I called Oasis about a month ago when our AC died. Actually, first we called Four Seasons. They started fixing the AC and then told us the furnace had a crack in the heat exchanger, and they would not finish fixing the AC until the furnace was replaced. They quoted us $3,800 to replace our furnace. We decided to get a second opinion, and called Oasis. They ended up fixing our AC and replacing our furnace for $2,300. Plus, they were very responsive, despite being swamped during a very busy time. They were too booked to come immediately, so the owner was willing to look at images I texted him to make sure the heat exchanger was actually cracked, and to give me an idea of what the cost of the new furnace would be, until they could get to us and confirm everything. They were nice and professional, and on time. Long story short, they won our repeat business. read more

I went to two other heating and cooling companies first. Both companies attempted to change the amount they quoted to do an immediate inspection (no heat in Chicago winter). Not until a friend recommended Oasis that I called and was given a free inspection and cost quote the same day. My new unit was installed the next day. I don't claim to know anything about the heating business but I know customer service. Customer service really means a-lot when you don't have heat. This is the reason for my very high rating. Mike came out on a moment's notice to fix my furnace in the middle of the winter. I appreciate heavily that being the owner of the company, he hunted down the part I needed and did the fix himself as quick as he could. This was no doubt 5 star service and something I will forever appreciate. One issues that knocked them down - 3 months later, the furnace stopped working again. Turns out the service door was not shut properly. They shut it, and then charged me for it. I asked that they not charge me since Mike was the last one who opened the furnace and I thought maybe it hadn't been shut properly the first time. I never got a response from Oasis on this. I assume the invoice was cancelled, but for all I know I could be in collections! Anyway, Mike struck me as guy that knows what he is doing and does put customer service first, so I would recommend them. Updated 1/22 to 5 Stars - Oasis explained the invoice had been set to zero. First I would like to say that I'm a very picky and involved customer. I recently purchased a home that had been retrofitted with forced air and had a spaghetti bowl of a system. Most people don't really care what their furnace looks like, but mine shares a room with my storage and man cave. As such I was quite demanding. Mike and his guys did a fantastic job on the install. Mike was very patient with me and when back and forth via email explaining pros and cons of certain Hvac units. He was present during the beginning and at a couple points during the install. The guys he had do it were so good though it didn't matter that much (sorry mike:). Anyway oasis did a great job and I would recommend home to anyone. I'm happy.
