They show up in a smaller truck and transfer belongings in and out of warehouses then arrive at the residence with an 18 wheeler truck that cannot fit or isn't allowed anywhere near the property. I didn't even pick this moving company it was brokered by ShipSafe (Do not use this broker). This review was from my move on Oct 2023. I waited until now for a review because I had a big claim that was routed to a third party which was useless. So gloves off now. I was quoted a specific amount from ShipSafe, when the Oasis movers arrived the price tripled the original price. They knew I was on a tight timeline so I had no choice but to proceed. The handling of my household items were poorly done. They threw fragile objects with heavy objects in boxes with no protection whatsoever. They destroyed quite a bit of items like my Traeger grill which is definitely not cheap, expensive pottery and damages on furnitures. To top it off, I stated during the moving quote on the items I had and they came with a 26ft truck, they said in order to get the rest of my items loaded I had to pay in full for another truck. THEY CHARGED ME AN ADDITIONAL $600 TO PACK A GLASS TOP COFFEE TABLE. ALL THEY USED WAS 2 HOME DEPOT BOXES AND A ROLL OF TAPE! CREEPS! The final cost was more than double the original estimate; I had tons of damage; the driver (boss) threw boxes and fragile items into the truck, deliberately knocked over a rolling tool box and broke the wheels; he was a rude, disrespectful jerk; I ran out of cash and had to use a credit card for the balance and they charged me a "service fee" to use my card. Not good is being kind. The final cost determined on day they finished packing was 2.5 times the original estimate. They counted my full 10x20x10 storage unit as one item on the inventory and then charged for "all" the extra items. The house was a wreck after they left and we found items they had broken or decided not to pack buried in their trash and hidden in other rooms. I was told if it took more than the day they promised to pack and load my belongings I would only be charged for the additional packing materials. Amazing enough those packing materials added over $6000 to my bill. There were a lot of other add charges. I'm still waiting for them to send the claim forms after several months. I was booked with them through a moving broker - Safe Ship who started the nightmare by giving me a quote of one price with it being doubled 6 days before the move due to their error and the final increase on the day they "finished" packing and loading. I had to get a storage unit in the town I left to hold everything they didn't pack and it took a couple of weeks to clean and sort everything in the mess they left behind. Our move from Boise to Phoenix tripled from the original quote, $22,000 for this move of less than 1,000 miles! Once you're on a tight time line, they squeeze you, and destroy your stuff. They came in rented trucks (Budget, Penske and U-Haul) and nobody spoke English. We had to use an phone interpreter. It got late so they forgot (?) everything that I had pointed out to them on the back porch. When our stuff was delivered we found crushed boxes, broken items, damage to furniture, etc. We tried to get compensation through Anthem Claim Management- and got less than pennies on the dollar. This company showed up a day late, literally the day I was supposed to be moving, and they tried to upsell me so I had to leave a bunch of my stuff. And yes I did have a contract that they decided to not care about. And then told me to sign a contract with them saying they could deliver my stuff in 18 days which is not what I was told. The people who showed up were very rude. They were also 3 days late on delivery from what I was promised... Then the fun begins, my bed is broken, my $800 road bike is broken and bent beyond repair, I had multiple items stolen from me, all my glassware is broken, and my TV mount is broken. This full service as they say moving company showed up with only a driver and he insisted I help him; doesn't seem like full service to me on that end. He wouldn't unload my items until I pay him, which I'm fine with but then he tacked on an additional $300 because evidently it was a little farther than he had anticipated. He was in the 18-wheeler and was not willing to back into the loading dock at my apartment. I wish I had listened to my gut which told me not to go with this company because they seemed really shady. DO NOT USE Same as everyone else. Estimator from Safe Ship was off by $4,000. We never got our kitchen table, and one of our storage shelves was destroyed. Luckily, we got most of our boxes (we think). We did however get a box of someone else's photos. We're working on tracking that person down. The only thing we really cared about was an executive-size desk that belonged to my grandfather. There are a couple gouges in part of the wood, and all the fittings are missing. We moved from Las Vegas Nevada to Springfield Illinois and we had the movers come and get our stuff 4 days before we left and we still haven't heard anything from anyone about where our items are or even when they would be delivered. These guys are the worst. Front office people were nice, worked with me on costs but handling of our belongings was terrible. They showed up with the wrong size truck, had to get another one. Charged me almost $8,000 more in moving cost because they never figured in boxes and containers. Lost a 65 inch LG LED TV, which they never found, lost numerous boxes that we can't account for, broke a dozen or so hard plastic containers that we purchased for the move, broke in half a 10" Craftsman table saw, turned tool boxes and parts boxes upside down and jammed up all the drawers. Broke a granite top to a desk, and lost two wheels and mounts to a Rigid shop vacuum.They showed up at the house but not with professional movers, They picked up 5 local day labor people with no moving experience and they treated our belongings like trash. They broke the entry threshold into our new home, didn't put anything where it belonged and everything was labeled. They left and gave us carboned paperwork that you could not even read so we don't know if all the items were delivered that they stored. We realized the TV was missing right away, contacted the driver, he said he didn't have it so he and the storage facility in Las Vegas checked and they didn't have it. I had two 6' ladders shipped, one orange, one blue, I received two 6' ladders, both aluminum. Worst part was that I contacted them about a claim and they turned me over to Anthem Claims Management and I filed a claim for only roughly $2,000.00 and they send me a settlement offer of $150.00 basically take it or leave it within 90 days. This company was sub contracted by Safe Move to move my 2 bedroom apartment in Utah to a 3 bedroom house in Tennessee. When they arrived to move the items it was a 3 man crew which packed everything very professionally and they were very helpful. The delivery was a nightmare. The driver called and stated he would arrive the next day between 12-6pm then called that day and said he was running late and would not be arriving for another 2 days at 8am he then called and stated it now be 12pm and finally arrived alone at 3pm. He unloaded the truck and I discovered the several pieces of my furniture had been damage or completely destroyed. He stated that some of it was there fault but it wasn't possible for other damage because the furniture was cheap. My sit/stand desk is damaged beyond use due to the electrical wires being severed from poor packing/wrapping by Oasis. The movers also delivered boxes on their side or upside down to my house which is why my computer monitor is broken. Missing Items compensated by abysmal amount. I had a move across state lines, originally booked my move with Gold Standard Moving (turns out they're a broker) who contracted Oasis Moving and Storage and my claim was covered by Anthem Claims Management (another astounding party added to this mess). This is the beginning of the obfuscation of who is responsible for what, and what fees you get charged for what, etc. I reported missing several items including new kitchenware, small sentimental items, and more consoles. Turns out their coverage is $.60 (cents) per pound of missing items. Missing small but expensive jewelry? - $0.60 for that. Missing consoles and electronics worth $60 per pound? - Nah, $.60 for that. I'm frustrated that out of all my items, the boxes marked with "Consoles" and "Kitchen" were the ones missing. A person cannot help but imagine somewhere across the changing of hands that someone saw these items and 'misplaced' them since the company would only be out pennies on the dollar - hypothetically of course. I'm frustrated that I had no choice in the matter *who* would be handling my move. If I'd known that this 'broker' would hire a sub-par contractor I'd have chosen otherwise, but as a first-time mover you're funneled into these ridiculous processes. So, while this review here is for Oasis and their lack of care, security and coverage for your and my items I'll also be placing a poor review on Gold Standard (broker) as well. I'm frustrated that there appears to be no sense of ownership from any of the parties involved. Why isn't there additional coverage? Why do these businesses only offer an amount by weight. It's ridiculous, and insulting. At this point they can shove their $63 where the sun don't shine. No amount was going to replace the sentimental items anyway. I just hope whichever person wound up with my recently departed friend's dice is cursed with natural 1's for eternity. *Long story short* - By the amount of reviews, I'd have never booked with Oasis if I had a chance. It seems like they're often missing items, and the coverage is $.60 per pound of missing items. Now I'm left with $63 for an approximate $1500 worth of missing items. **Warning to anyone who gets this 'contractor' picked by one of their 'brokers':** 1) Ask for the full list of available movers from your Broker. Do your own research and pick a better one than Oasis Moving. 2) If you must go with Oasis Moving: You likely won't have a lawyer on-hand when you sign any bill of lading but understand this. They only cover $.60 per pound of missing items. They often misplace or damage items based on all the other reviews. I was able to dispute the charges with my credit merchant to get back the half up front I paid. They are a fraudulent company and will breach contract with you and overcharge you for unused space. They will never survive as a cash based service so once they lose all their merchants from charge backs they'll go bankrupt as they should've in 2004 after they opened. Nevada's department of justice needs to investigate these people. I believe their practices constitute criminal behavior, in the form of fraud. It's been five years since I used them, but as I am considering moving things to storage, I checked on Yelp. When I saw they are still in business - how?! - knew I needed to write this review. I had been very clear and detailed about the size house I was moving from and the exact contents of the house. They showed up with a truck that was too small. I had also noted that they would have to pack some of the items. Of course when they showed up, they said contents plus packing would cost extra. That alone made me angry. They were supposed to store contents for two months while contract for new house was being finalized and carpeting and tile work was done. That too was supposedly included in their quote. And of course, they billed extra. Complete fraud. But it got worse. When they delivered my furniture and belongings, the things they had packed were damaged, some irreparably. Additionally, I had paid for storage in air conditioned unit. But my Yankee candles were all melted. So I'm guessing not air conditioned. When I filed a claim, including pictures, they stated they could not reimburse me, even though I gave them sticker numbers, because there were no descriptions on the list their movers created that showed what those stickers corresponded to! Me: So I am being penalized for your workers' failure to follow protocol? Here are photos of just a few of the damaged items. Note the rolltop desk. This was a terrible experience, a nightmare, with OASIS MOVING & STORAGE. When I first contacted them, they gave me a quote for $6,900 to move me from California to Houston. I thought that was a great deal, so I signed up for it, put a deposit down, and scheduled it on the specific days that I needed to move out.... A couple days later, someone called me and told me that the salesperson had made a mistake, and the actual cost would be $18,000. (Contracts didn't matter, I couldn't cancel and find another company quick enough, and I had already put a deposit down). It was too close to my move date to find another moving company, so I asked to talk with the manager. He agreed to reduce it to $13,000. Then the day of the move, which was on a weekend, the truck showed up late, and when the driver /supervisor came into the house, he told me they couldn't do it for less than $18,000. He didn't care about any contract, and he said he was not associated with Oasis, they were simply a company that "passes these moves on to real movers"....Of course, I couldn't contact the manager that I had spoken with, So I asked him to proceed, and I told him that I would contact management on Monday morning. (My alternative was to send him away, then I would not have been able to meet my deadlines to be moved out, and to be moved into my new house in Houston). They damaged so much furniture, of course I didn't realize that until I got to Houston, and when the truck showed up to unload, it was a different crew, different truck. Furniture was damaged, a laptop computer was missing, and it was impossible to talk to anyone about it. They finally sent me forms in the mail to complete, but they wanted receipts on everything, and dozens of photos. Sometimes it's hard to find receipts on furniture that's 5 plus years old... I actually contacted an attorney to help me resolve this, and he was sympathetic, but he told me that the bottom line was that I wouldn't recover anything, and this was common with these types of moving companies. I have moved 8 times in my life. Prior to this company, I always used reputable companies like "Allied" or "United", and I always had pleasant and professional experiences. My advice is to spend a little bit more, and use a reputable moving company like Allied or United. You will have a lot less stress, and a professional experience... I did a long distance move from Oregon to Missouri via Safe Ship. Customer Service was great through ship safe the actual move through Oasis Las Vegas was a real nightmare. Number one the person backing up the truck almost hit my car, number two the crew was unprofessional meaning they handled my things with little disregard. They had one person handing my 350 pound treadmill and it fell on luckily on the grass rather than the concrete and number three my mattress would not fit within the confinements of my limits and I said leave it I will replace it as it was 12 years old and they negotiated the price. I ended up spending 1200 more. It does not end there. The date of delivery ended up being on a holiday they requested a cashier's check - after they said they would request another form of payment. I ended up paying in cash. Lastly they would promise to call me back in 15 minutes and never follow up until I had my brother connect with them multiple times. They charged 95% more than the original quote, had to be reminded several times not to forget things, and then charged him again at the end for the extra workers. The price was competitive, and they were on time. there was a delay due to weather, but I received multiple updates. Two different crews dealt with our belonging, pick up then delivery. Each were polite, professional and pleasant to work with. They treated our stuff with the utmost of respect.
