As of January, I have been milk and cheese free, so I figured to look up a vegan place to get a quick bite to eat on a random day that I found myself passing by Riverside, Ca. I was a it hesitant to try it, just because I've never been to a vegan/ vegetarian place before. Needless to say, I did not regret stopping by this little hole in the wall. The Oasis Cafe itself is attached to a small grocery market. They have an order window right outside to the left hand side. Although there is outside seating, you can also find indoor seating within the grocery store. you always order at the outside window and they will bring your food to you if you're sitting indoors. Now, for the important part, the food! They a large variety of choices. They include, burgers, wraps, and salads. You then pick out your protein, veggies and spread. I personally order a salad and had it put in a wrap.My "protein" was Chipotle Jackfruit, which I highly recommend. I have never had it till then and it was surprisingly tasty! The young lady that helped me out was very nice. Do not hesitate to ask what is inside their spreads etc. or what their replacement meat is made out of, they are more than happy to explain it for you and they will even offer a small free sample. As for my spread, I had their Aoli and for vegetable, their garlic mushrooms. All accompanied by their spicy red chili sauce! I gave their hibiscus a try, and although it was great, it was way too sweet! So heads up! By the time I had got done paying, i realized that they also offer vegan pupusas and other goodies! Been to a few vegan spots and being surprised when the vegan food items are edgy and taste soo good is the best. So seeing they had pupusas and tamales they were the first things i wanted to try. Have to say these are probably not ready to be turned vegan. The vegan cheese that was used was soo weird i was trying to like it and the more i ate the more my mind was made up and didnt finish it. The tamale was edible but I wouldn't recommend it. The ice cream was good though. read more

Wooooow.....Seriously if I was wealthy I'd eat here every single week. No doubt about it. It is delicious! I am not a vegetarian but I do like to eat healthy as often as possible. This place had great tasting options for me who has several food allergies. I did not have to compromise on the taste of the food just because it was vegan/healthy. Delicious, I got their burger, a tamal, a pupusa, the plantins with vegan sour cream, the vegan cake and their hibiscus tea and they were all amazing. I have not been able to eat a delicious pupusa in several years cuz of my allergies and sour cream in like ten years or more but this was a great experience for me. I only wish I lived closer to one of these places. When I visit my in-laws I will definitely be stopping by and eating here every single time. It is a bit pricey but man is it good. read more

This place knows flavor. I had the burrito with egg and the turmeric veggies with the plantains on the side. So filling and delicious. I have not had the greatest luck with whole wheat tortillas but the way they prepare it here is top notch. The egg was fluffy and the veggies were fresh. The woman on the register was so rude. Very unhelpful with how to order. She was getting frustrated with me that I didn't know "the correct way to order." I've never been here before and was trying to understand what I can order. I just wanted 1 Jack fruit taco and 1 carnitas taco. I didn't think it would be this hard. Will not be coming back. Here's an update to your response to my review. You responded to my review saying that I was the one who was agitated and stressed out, not your mother, then I wanted to force you to change your menu to make you do something that's impossible. Which i didnt, just confused on why i couldnt order two tacos. And really? two different tacos are impossible to make? Than you asked if my intentions are to hurt your business so badly with this review that I no longer want your business to exist. At first I didn't think that the 1 star was appropriate since the food tasted really good. But since you went on the offense I'm going to keep it at a 1 star. You could of easily said "my apologies, I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your experience here. We would gladly make this up to you by offering 10% off" or whatever. Something to make it up to me without insulting? Customer service goes a lonnng way. I've had some crappy food but the customer service has made up for it. So I am probably the WORST person to ever review a vegetarian cafe because well... I'm not a healthy eater AT ALL and I'm not a vegetarian. In fact, I am almost certain that this was my first time ever eating anywhere that was entirely vegetarian! Sadly, I completely judged this place upon arrival but thankfully, I left quite pleased! This place is attached to a natural foods market. When you pull up, you don't really notice that it is a walk up window unless you really pay attention (I literally thought I went to the wrong place at first). There is outdoor seating and indoor as well. First off, the service was outstanding! I came here after a tennis match at UCR with about 10 hungry guys. I didn't realize how small it was so I felt bad that we were basically bombarding the place with orders. However, I was really impressed at how quickly they took our orders and the timing of the food to come out. I had such a hard time deciding on what to get but the woman at the window was more than helpful to me. She gave me some suggestions on what to get and what she personally thought was great. I ended up ordering the burrito with black beans, rice, corn, "carnitas", and avocado ginger sauce. I was kinda nervous because it was my first time trying "meatless meat" since I'm a total dinosaur. The carnitas were good, but I hated the texture. I ended up just taking them out and eating the burrito on it's own and actually liked it better than before. I also tried my coaches meal that had jackfruit in it and I was shocked to see how much it tasted like chicken. It made me realize that I actually DONT need meat to have a good meal, so I was very happy hahaha. Everything was pretty fresh, the employees were super nice, and the overall vibe was cool. They offer a range of different items like burgers, bowls, burritos and what not so there is a little something for everyone. So it was raining on our hike to skyline drive so we had to cut it short and my buddy was a vegeterian so we stopped by this place. We had the papusa, steak burger, steak burrito, and the chili fries. The papusa was on point, the steak burrito and burger was bland, and the chili fries just was plain horrible. First time eating here. I absolutely loved how cozy and intimate it is. The menu is a bit complicated though; even over heard a few first timers say the same. Once you get it, ordering is easy. I had an Oasis patty burger and two popusas, one of each. I also had a vanilla ice cream sandwich that was amazing. The only thing I did not like was the "greens juice", it was far too bitter. Yes! I was so happy I decided to give this place a visit. I am not a vegetarian but do enjoy a good vegetarian meal. I chose the bowl which starts with a base of black beans, brown rice and pico de gallo. I chose to add protein of jackfruit, veggie as mushrooms and sauce as red pepper. It was so delicious. The jackfruit has a chipotle smoke to it so lots of flavor there. The mushrooms also added a nice garlic taste. The red pepper sauce added a kick to the already perfectly flavorful bowl. I also ordered a spinach and cheese Papusa on the side and even that was so good. A delicious crisp, hot papusa with melted cheese and spinach. Yum over and over again. Definitely will be a frequent visitor from now on. Oh and p.s. Inside the store near the produce they have fresh Aguas frescas. I mixed pineapple and strawberry and it was perfect, they do not overly sweeten their aguas. read more

Oasis Vegatarian Cafe was the first time I tried a Grilled Tofu burrito before. I only had tofu one other time prior to this and it was cooked to taste like chicken. Oasis opened my eyes so much to new options and the food was soo good. The burrito was fulfilling. I ordered through Door Dash and it still came prepared well .
