This was my first time at Oasis and I was pleasantly surprised! I typically go to Pho Cafe in Daly City but was recommended this place. This place will likely enter my Vietnamese restaurant rotation now. My boyfriend and I ordered one XL combo beef pho and one vermicelli bowl with imperial rolls and pork. The XL pho is definitely very large and very shareable, but I was a bit disappointed because the broth was not hot enough. By the time it got to our table it was barely hot enough to cook the rare beef slices and most were still pink. The broth itself was just okay, I don't think it was quite rich or savory enough. However, there was a lot of meat and noodles so the value is there. The vermicelli bowl was also pretty standard but good. I think the imperial rolls need a bit more salt as well, but not a big deal. Service was fine, and the ambiance was what you'd expect from your typical small, family-owned pho shop. On weekdays, lots of families with kids stop by after school or games. Overall I am satisfied with my experience given the cost to quantity of food ratio. I may ask for the broth to be extra hot next time just to be safe. read more

Came to visit Pacifica, California for the first time. Beautiful , cozy ocean city. It's in the middle of June and it's cold over here. As I was on my way home back to Lathrop, Ca., I was hungry for some soup and wondered if they had any Vietnamese shops here and as I googled, I found one. I was a little hesitant trying this place because a Vietnamese restaurant in the middle of an ocean city would probably be basic and over priced. I was wrong. They served Bún Riêu, which is one of my favorite noodle soups of all time and it's hard to find a restaurant that serves this dish in the valley. The broth was phenomenal and I can taste the crab paste. The portions were good and the price was decent. Service was quick and professional. I recommend this place! read more

So, this review is my first impression. I noticed that this is a mom and pop shop. (Go support small businesses!! ) =) My friend ordered the curry vermicelli noodle dish and the shrimp spring rolls. I ordered the Bun Bo Hue and garlic noodles with chicken. I really enjoyed the bun bo hue. It was flavorful and my goodness, look at the generous portion! Honestly this is the perfect size for me since I do love to eat! The noodles were cooked perfectly. I don't like it when places overcook the noodles. I'm a huge fan of these thick rice noodles. The broth is very rich and flavorful. I love how the broth wasn't overly spicy. The bun bo hue comes with some basil, bean sprouts, lemon and cilantro on the side. Let's talk about the meat and the cubes of pig's blood. There's spicy beef, and pork leg. There's such a generous amount in here!!! The meat was tender, the pig's blood was also very enjoyable. (If you're afraid to get this dish because of the pig's blood, then ask for it to be made without it). I really enjoyed the gelatinous-ness of the pork leg! The shrimp spring rolls were okay. I'm generally used to dipping them in a creamy peanut sauce. The sauce here wasn't doing much for me. The spring rolls were a bit lacking for me because it only had noodles, lettuce and the shrimp. There wasn't any cucumber inside. It was still enjoyable with the bun bo hue. It added a refreshing element, which complimented the spiciness of the bun bo hue. The garlic noodles were decent. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but I really enjoyed the potion size! The noodles were lacking in garlic flavor. I felt like I couldn't taste a whole lot of garlic. The chicken didn't have a lot of 5 spice seasoning, but I like how it wasn't dry. The chicken was tender. Back to the noodles: they were actually SOOO SOO salty. It felt like I was eating a spoonful of sodium/salt. I just wish the chicken had more flavor, and that the noodles were more garlicky, but less salty! It could use more minced garlic. I've been watching to try this place because they have some classics on the menu like BBH and Bun Rieu! Overall, it's such a cute place and most of the food was tasty. The food at Oasis is solid. We came in for lunch at 11:30am on a Tuesday with no wait. We were the first ones there. The food came out fast. The restaurant was too clean for a Vietnamese noodle restaurant. Our waiter knew the menu well and was competent. I had their #2 pho dac biet with egg noodles $14.45. The broth could be better and the noodles easily broke apart. Still good though. The satay beef noodles $16 were better. It had a very good broth. Hidden Gem!!!! Came here on a Tuesday evening, and there was plenty of parking in the parking lot. Upon entering, there were plenty of seats and also a tv playing the NBA playoffs. I ordered the curry with noodles (Bo Kho) and my friends got their usual Bun Bo Hue and 5 spice rice plate. The Bo Kho was flavorful and very light (aka clean, not too heavy). When the fog creeps up over here in sf, ya know i gotta reach out for some pho noodles. Sadly there aren't many pho spots in sf that i would say is my " go to" If you grew up in the city, you drove a few extra short miles to kevins. ( it's okay! My go to is number 2 small combo pho. i can honestly say that i would not add any siriacha, hoisin to their broth and i am fully satisfied. i definitely add thai basil though because that's my jam. Not sure what they put in their lemon tea, but it's good! i can drink 2 servings if I could. APPETIZER-get the imperial rolls and get the spring rolls with shrimp. they add a crispy crunch inside that puts it up a notch from your typical spring rolls. would it be recommend? yasssss! plenty of parking and close to the freeway exit and entrance. not to mention- walking distance to mazzettis. I've eaten at Oasis about 5 to 6 times and each time I've gotten to try some different items. Beef stew is usually my favorite at any Vietnamese restaurant and instantly after trying it at Oasis, this is my absolute #1 spot to get beef stew at. I've tried beef stew at soooo many restaurants before and I've got to say, Oasis really does it best. The stew is so perfectly flavorful and the meat inside is just amazing. It's soft, tender, juicy, and just perfection with every bite. I appreciate that they don't add in the very chewy, fatty parts since those parts can be so hard to chew that I usually end up eating around it and not getting to finish all the meats inside. Oasis actually cares about the parts they put in their stew, and the quality of their meat. Also, they are NOT SKIMPY on the meat in their stew. I felt there was plenty of meat to go around and have a small bite with every bite of noodle I took. The only suggestion I have is that, I'd love if we could have the option to add some cilantro in it. Another plus is that they have egg soda. The majority of Vietnamese restaurants don't sell it for some reason. Their other items I've tried have also been pretty good. Not too many places offer banh cuon, so, of course, I had to order it! There were 6 rolls in the order along with about 6 slices of fancy pork, some sprouts, basil, lettuce, and a container of the nuoc cham. The rolls were smaller than I'm used to, but they were very tasty and certainly enough food to be pleasantly full! The nuoc cham had a great balance of sweet and tangy and there were plenty of veggies that accompanied the rolls. Great to know of a place that offers this delectable treat! Parking is really easy; there's a lot that also services Starbucks, Anderson's Swim School, and 24 Hr. Fitness. The entrance to Oasis is on the right side of the building (Starbucks is on the left) and is not visible from the street, but there is a sign visible from the street. I'm so glad I found this spot! The wonton egg noodle soup is my go-to and it has never disappointed me. I've also tried their rare beef and and brisket pho soup and the charbroiled pork rice plate. Everything I've tried here is delicious, serving sizes are pretty big and you will be satisfied afterwards. I love the depth of flavor and saltiness of the pho broths and the pork rice plate was deliciously savory as well. Their thai tea is one of the best I've ever had, with a nice balance of strong tea flavor and sweetness. Pho ga and beef pho fill the stomach and soul on a cold rainy day! They add a lot of shredded chicken and brisket slices into our individual bowls. The broth was light and not greasy. We've been going here for a while now and are always pleased with the consistency and quality of the food. #24 - Chicken Noodle Soup aka Pho comes in medium and large but medium is always enough for 1 person. Get large for 2. #27 - Vermicelli Bowl w/ chicken (and extra fish sauce!) - reminds me of the first time had this dish at the Sugar Bowl bakery in SF 25 years ago and it always warm my heart to have the same delicious experience as I did back then. #GG - Garlic Noodles - yep, it comes as it sounds - just a big ol' plate of noodles LOADED with garlic flavor. Definitely a cut and dry carb load of garlicky goodness. You first think you can't eat it all, and maybe you can't, but you WANT to. #46 - Imperial Rolls - again, hands down delicious! They also have a delectable warm ginger tea that has big chunks of ginger floating around with a delicate sweetness. #47 - Shrimp Rolls - fresh, flavorful. Great side sauce. It's probably a truism that you can get a good, rib-sticking Vietnamese meal pretty much anywhere in the Bay Area, although I admit Pacifica isn't the first place that comes to mind. But interestingly, I've been to a couple of good ones on my various travels down the coast. The first was Kitten and Pinky, which is still my favorite name for a Vietnamese restaurant anywhere (review https://bit.ly/3nRbHed), and the second is this spot which is right off Hwy One, very convenient for picking up a takeout order which is exactly what I did. Instead of going for my standard order of pho ga (which would've sloshed around on the floor of the passenger seat), I went for the $9.95 Five-Spice Chicken Dry Vermicelli Bowl (Bun Ga Nuong), which came with - no surprise - hefty pile of vermicelli noodles (photo: https://bit.ly/3rDgHUE). It was genuinely delicious though truth be told. I left most of the noodles in the tray. Of course, I did perform my litmus test for Vietnamese restaurants and ordered the $6.95 Shrimp Rolls (Goi Cuon) (photo: https://bit.ly/33YeN98). They were huge and fresh even though the watery peanut sauce disappointed. I was surprisingly forward thinking on my visit and also ordered the $9.50 Chicken Salad (Goi Ga) thinking it would make a good lunch the following day. This is the 3rd Vietnamese place we've tried in Pacifica and once again, I would advise people to venture out for better Vietnamese food. If you're looking for sandwiches, you can get a better version at Dinosaurs. Oasis is more of a sit down for local families. Their sandwiches are Americanized. As my husband says: it's not a bad sandwich but it's not a Vietnamese sandwich. Our sandwich bread was slightly over toasted and a little burnt on the outside. I do appreciate that they hallow out the inside and don't overstuff with carrots. It's a kid friendly sandwich but other than that, I wouldn't order this again. Although the price $6.95 seems cheap, there isn't a lot of meat inside. Mine was the five spice chicken but it wasn't very flavorful and tasted more like teriyaki soy chicken. I would recommend their garlic noodles $9.95 We added bbq beef to ours for extra $3.00 but again there isn't that much meat. I know how to make garlic noodles at home so this saved me the hassle. We also had the curry chicken entree $13.95 I debated on whether to get the rice plate but figured I would get more if I got the entree. Turns out there were a lot of onions in the dish as filler and the chicken didn't soak up enough of the curry sauce. If you like chicken breast, you might like this dish. Kiddo order a small seafood pho $9.95 which was pretty bland. I ended up taking her noodles out of the soup and adding cilantro to mix it with the curry chicken which made everything a lot better. Service was averaged. We waited about 20 minutes for our food. The restaurant is kinda small, maybe seats 50. Lots of people dining in around 2-3pm on a Saturday. They do have their own parking lot. Bathroom was average. You have to speak up a bit to have a conversation. Ambiance is casual. Total bill was $47.91 so I give it an over all 3 stars. Not bad but nothing to come back for and seriously, if you want real Vietnamese food, you have to travel out of Pacifica. read more

Oasis has been, and will still continue to be, a good place in Pacifica to go to for Vietnamese food. But today's Pork Banh Mi sandwich came with and extra unexpected vitamin. Vitamin Steel! A steel clip rectangle was found inside the sandwich while taking a bite. I hope this is an exception to the normal experience. In fact, I know it's an exception as I have has many other meal's at Oasis. But they need to take care with every order prep. I was hungry today and was taking large bites in order to wolf down the sandwich. Luckily I sensed the piece of steel before swallowing. The sandwich itself was their normal tasty goodness. This place food pictures looked bussin~ My partner got the #5: the Rare Beef & Beef Meatball Noodle Soup. The soup was pretty good and flavorful. I ordered 28A, which is the 5 Spice Chicken that comes with Imperial Rolls. The dish is good, but I feel like I can do it without the imperial rolls. They're crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I don't know if it's just me, but I personally did not like it. There was this weird after taste and it tasted slightly bitter to me. I can't tell if it's the oil, the rice paper wrap or the meat they used. It tasted quite odd to me. The chicken is a bit on the dry end, but the skin was crispy and flavorful. So, in a way, it complimented one another. The Vietnamese coffee is not bad as well. If you don't like your coffee sweet like me, you might want to request less condense milk.
