I was craving Vietnamese food last night and I searched around on UberEats to see what I could find. I found this place and did a quick Yelp search to see that many other Yelpers like this place. I was craving Banh Xeo after watching a YouTube video of someone eating one, and Bun Rieu (one of my favorites) - I'm always on the hunt to see which place has the best one. Everything came within the hour as I opted in for lower priority to get my food. I was working out, so I knew I didn't want to interrupt my session by having to run downstairs super quick. Everything upon arrival was packaged really well, and I was surprised to see that it was a pretty hefty bag! //Pricing: Bun Rieu (Crab Paste & Tomato Vermicelli Soup): $10.95 Banh Xeo (Vietnamese Crepe): $13.95 //Breakdown of each item: -Bun Rieu: This was ok, not completely the best I've ever had, but the flavors were there. The temperature of the soup was still pipping hot, and the noodles didn't harden by the time it got to me (I live in Daly City,CA). I think the flavors can be amped up a bit with more seafood, garlic, or possibly the bun rieu seasoning? I still have this left over, so I'll try to find ways to amp it up. 2.5 to 3/5 -Banh Xeo: I can see why it was priced at $14 because it was huge! Be warned, if you have sensitive teeth or you can't bite down on super crispy/hard things, stray away from this. This has to be one of the crispiest Banh Xeos I ever had. I typically like mine as somewhat soft, yet crispy. You can definitely hear a crunch throughout each bite. It wasn't really packed with much besides pork, a few pieces of shrimp, and a shit ton of bean sprouts. The nuoc mam (fish sauce) was really nice and light in flavor. You do get a lot of lettuce wraps with this to eat alongside it, which was a nice addition! Otherwise if you don't like fish sauce and you happen to eat it without it, there isn't really much flavor or pazazz to it. 3/5 Overall, pretty average Vietnamese food I've tried so far. I think I might have to try other items on the menu as this place does have high reviews, I might have chosen the wrong things to eat here. read more

Oasis Vietnamese Cuisine is a cute, family owned restaurant down in the Pacifica. I've been wanting to try their beef stew since I saw photos of it! As expected, the broth for the beef stew is very tasty and rich. They give generous portions of beef stew. The main issue I experienced is having way too much noodles. The type of noodles they used is thin and chewy and actually tastes good, but when there's too much noodles, it soaks up all the soup and the broth becomes starchy. Not sure if it's because I ordered a large or that's just how they serve it. The imperial rolls are very crispy and smaller than most Vietnamese restaurants. However, that fish sauce they use is sweet and goes well with both the imperial rolls and vermicelli noodles. Now, the winner here is the charbroiled pork vermicelli. The entire meal is just so flavorful! It's fresh and tasty like a homemade meal. My husband and I probably should have ordered the pork vermicelli noodles with imperial rolls instead of getting two separate entrees, so we could've tried another appetizer. Oops. The iced Vietnamese coffee is on the sweeter end. It does not have a strong coffee taste. Overall, I would recommend getting the vermicelli noodle entrees with imperial rolls together and beef stew with less noodles. Note: Good fish sauce and tasty entrees! read more

Truly an Oasis in the food desert on the road hugging Hwy 1 North. If you're look at the building from the north, the restaurant is hard to find as it shares a sign with Starbucks. There's a Mexican restaurant & ACE Hardware down the street. That's it. Go around the corner to the south side, where their entrance & parking lot sits. Unlike the big city, street parking is free & plentiful. On to the food. I ordered #30, broiled shrimp & vermicelli. I should have paid more attention to the neon Pho sign. The dish was pretty unexciting. The "broiled" shrimp looked & tasted like boiled shrimp, generous, but almost tasteless. Every other shrimp vermicelli I've had uses very tasty grilled shrimp. On the plus side, first time I've had a bowl of vermicelli that wasn't a gelatinous mess. Loved the fish sauce & lettuce. The dish required hot sauce amendment. The place was packed on a Saturday afternoon & they were doing a good takeout biz. The staff didn't give me side eye for bringing in my Starbucks iced tea. Honestly, if this was San Francisco I'd give the place a 3 star, but I might have a different opinion if I tried the Pho. read more

I had a couple of patients at work the other day who raved about Oasis and how it is the only Vietnamese restaurant they would go to... so obviously I had to go. The food here is overall okay... it is nothing compared to the Vietnamese food down in the South Bay. They ran out of fresh noodles here by the time I got here, so I opted for the Five Spice Chicken and egg roll vermicelli and my boyfriend got the BBH. The best part of the meal was the egg rolls, 5/5. The five-spice chicken was okay, I prefer Perilla's in SF more. The BBH was also okay...the broth was okay, but the meat cuts were on the thicker side... I think I was spoiled with BBH An Nam. Oasis is a family run restaurant, and is our go-to Vietnamese restaurant in the area. I'm surprised it's taken me this long to write a review since we come here at least once every two weeks. The food is good for the price, and portions are reasonable. Our rotation of meals we get are the pho, bun rieu, bun with pork and imperial rolls. I've also tried their satay beef noodle soup, banh mi, and beef stew. All dishes are solid (not amazing, but it does the job for the price and is our favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the area). The staff are always super nice and the place is also always clean. And parking is easy to find :) read more

Ordered 2 items via DoorDash tonight, two extremely common Viet dishes and both were subpar to say the least. The order was received at 5:12pm and picked up at 5:17. This was my first "uh-oh" sign of quality. How can items that need to be prepared and cooked be out the door in 5 minutes! The Imperial roll w/grilled pork vermicelli bowl was a total let down. Both the roll AND pork were rock hard, cold and stale. No way to chew either one and the pork tasted more like jerky than grilled. It's so obvious both had been precooked and sitting out for hours, not fresh at all. The only edible item was the noodle itself which is likely $2 worth but cost me $14. The five-spice banh mi fared better as it arrived warm unlike the noodle bowl, so 2 stars for that. However it was not authentic whatsoever, looking more like an American sub with bread you'd find at Safeway vs. real Viet french bread. There were only a few slices of chicken, no spread and no daikon, just carrots. And the most insulting was paying $11 for this "sandwich". 1 star for the sandwich being warm and 1 extra star for the food not being utterly disgusting albeit unedible. My recommendation is to go elsewhere if you want freshly cooked food. read more

My favorite pho location in the area so far! Went with a big group for lunch and we loved how much variety they had on the menu. Lots of different noodle and soup options in addition to pho (my friend just got chicken soup.... LOL we were massively hungover). The imperial rolls were cute (they were cut into bite size pieces) and super crisp! Pho Tai is my hangover go-to and their broth was flavorful. They had lots of drink and dessert options as well. Dined in on a Saturday. Ordered at 1:02pm: banh xeo and a small pho tai chin. By 1:10pm, both came out. That was really fast! The banh xeo was big and crispy! It had a good amount of filling. The edges of the crepe was crunchy, which makes me think they add something else to their batter that other Vietnamese restaurants don't do. They also add mung beans which I like that often other places skip out on. They were generous with their lettuce. Though I wish they also included cilantro and not just mint and cucumber. The small bowl of pho had a generous amount of meat. It was filling. The broth had a nice depth of flavor. I would like to come back here the next time I'm in Pacifica. read more

Tucked in a corner next to 24hr Fitness, you will find this hidden gem! Oasis has been on my list for a while, and last night we finally had the chance to try this place out. When we walked in, we were the only customers inside but their phone orders were going off! The place was well lit and nicely decorated. I ordered a small #15 and my bf got the large beef stew. We also ordered the imperial rolls to share. Our food arrived quickly and was burn your mouth hot but thats how I like my food, hehe. The imperial rolls were made to order and super crispy! It was $7.95 for 8 pieces that were cut in half which is more than what other restaurants give. My pho really hit the spot and was filled with pork & chicken and shrimp. The small bowl was perfect for me. The beef stew was super flavorful too and just the right amount for my bf. Oasis - a very fitting name for such a hidden gem of Vietnamese food in Pacifica! Great portions cooked well sums it up. Looks like they are popular, as it took about 20 minutes for my order to be prepared, and upon picking up, there were many to-go bags ready. I had the banh cuon cha lua (steamed rice rolls wrapped w/ ground pork) which is hard to find outside of San Jose, and there were so many freshly steamed and packed rice rolls!!! They filled and rolled those things up neatly, ready to be served with bean sprouts and fancy pork. I loved to dip them in the savory and lightly sweet fish sauce. Though the rice rolls are a little starchier than normal, they're one of my favorite takes on banh cuon. I also had the bun cha gio ga nuong (imperial rolls & five spice chicken dry vermicelli bowl), and I had to split it in half for two meals! It's loaded with bouncy vermicelli and enough bits of peanuts and veggies for variety. I love the meaty imperial roll mixture and crunch, and the five spice chicken was decent. I used the entire fish sauce container, as it's not too overpowering. My boyfriend had the bun bo hue (spicy beef & pork leg w/ pork blood cubes) and I absolutely am cheering for this bowl of bun bo hue, as it is PACKED with all them meats and blood cubes. I do have bun bo hue in my area, but they don't tend to add the blood cubes cause I guess people up here are scared of them. Well, Oasis not only puts a generous amount of blood in, but they have pieces of pork leg! Not only that, it's pretty meaty and gelatinously easy to eat! The other meat pieces are thick as well. Honestly, non-Asian cultures aren't quite used to these cuts of meat, which is why my boyfriend gave all these pieces to me. The broth was nice - it had a warm, sweet heat and spice with slippery, plump vermicelli. This bun bo hue is great, but not for the faint of heart. Even though Oasis is in Pacifica, I'd still go out of my way to grab authentic Vietnamese food from here. It's always awesome to see a place that keeps prices reasonable with big portions. read more

I recently visited Oasis. Ordered the pho and a seafood soup dish. The noodles for both were horribly overcooked to the point of falling apart. Couldn't lift it with chopsticks without the noodles breaking. The balance of noodles to soup was grossly disproportionate. An excess of noodles not only overwhelmed the dish but also absorbed much of the flavorful broth, leaving me with a thick mush even though the noodles had sat in the soup a short amount of time. The tofu banh mi here is super inconsistent and toggles back and forth between the best I've ever had to the worst I've ever had. Different cooks in the back make it so differently each time. The worst is when it's doused in black pepper and salt, you can't taste anything else. The best is when it actually tastes like a lemongrass tofu sandwich. Quite a crowd and a wait! We came here to get banh mi to go for our hike, and this has become our go-to place for sandwiches when we're in the area! It's very popular, as there's several people waiting for their orders, and clearly the food is a hit! They're doing great with social distancing, and provide hand sanitizer and have people wait outside. If you want to avoid the wait, you can call ahead for your order and then go pick it up. I can be pretty picky when it comes to my pho and this place definitely delivered! This place is a cute little family owned business and we came in on a Sunday. Parking was super easy as there's a lot to park in right out front. We ordered a beef pho, deep fried prawns, bun rieu, and carpaccio! Servers were really helpful with recs and if there's one thing I can recommend to try aside from the usual, I'd say the deep fried prawns. They were so fresh and light! The service was friendly and the food was not my favorite. I ordered the deep fried imperial rolls and the first bite in, I thought it was spoiled because of the sour taste. I told a lady that my imperial rolls were sour and she said it's like that, vinegar is added to the egg roll skin. The Bun bo Hue could use more lemongrass flavor and a better noodle quality. I actually bid on this spot: the 1000 sq ft on the south side of Pacifica Manor Sbux, and right across from the Pacifica Manor 24 hr Fitness. We had a Rotisserie Chicken concept. Sort of like Limón in the Mission. But not enough fall-back capital to give a comfort level to the Landlord group. So anyway, these guys built it out. Opened with some good business, cranking some decently hearty food. Within a few months, they had: increased the prices, reduced all protein portions in the offerings. And maintained only a mid-line quality overall. I marked down an additional star because: they're right in MY NEIGHBORHOOD. They pulled that rope-a-dope and I take that personally. Sorry. Have to be honest. So I posted this maybe an hour ago. The owner saw it. They're ticked. OK. I'm ticked that they serve less than great food in *my neighborhood* In MY HOMETOWN. Came here the other day with a friend, after a long day of fishing (not catching) over at Pacifica Pier. Never tried Oasis before, but was directed here by a mutual friend who lives in the area, as we were thinking of having some Pho. Located next to Starbucks and 24hrs, Oasis has their own private lot, so parking should never be an issue. The establishment itself is not too big, with no outdoor dining option. When we arrived on Sat evening, there were about 2 other tables dining in at the time, and we were able to get seated right away. Service is very much your typical efficient, but no social skills type interaction, that would normally expect from a Pho joint. Prices are a bit on the higher end, and the pho was pretty unmemorable. Overall, this place is good if you were craving some Vietnamese food and happened to be nearby. But there certainly are better options if you're willing to travel a bit farther. read more

Distal spot near Pacifica is a quite and hidden place is a great relief for those who enjoy pho. It was recommended by other yelpers and I was quite impressed with how busy they are and how quickly they serve you your meals. There's soup was delicious and very tasteful. My son had his Vietnamese sandwich which he enjoyed every bit of it with plentiful meat as he liked it. I came here based on the high Yelp reviews, and ironically it wasn't the Pho that I would give the high marks to. Surprisingly, their combination rice plate was the hit of the night. Their grilled pork, pork skin, eggroll, and shrimp all had flavor and were equally good. The cons however was their rare beef pho. We ordered a large and it seemed really small, was very salty, and didn't have a nice rich boiled bone broth flavor. For some reason it tasted like a bunch of beef bullion stock with salt and water added. The quality was lacking and so was the flavor. The service was slow and had somewhat of an attitude, and their spring rolls didn't taste all that fresh I think I'd skip this place unless I was desperate for Vietnamese food. read more

My daughter had their garlic noodles at a volleyball fundraiser and could not stop raving about them so I inquired where they were from and to our surprise they're just down the street from us. We opted for takeout b/c it's just that close. Parking lot is hit or miss as it shares with the swim school and the 24 hour fitness which can be a hassle especially around dinner time when many people go to work out after work. Nicely lit and very clean inside. We ordered: 1 garlic noodles, 1 garlic noodles with beef, 2 bbq pork banh mi, and fried egg rolls. D1 finished her noodles and said it was just as good as when she tasted them at the fundraiser. I had a small taste and it was just okay to me. D2 wasn't happy with her noodles and beef, it's the same stuff she orders at Ben Tre but it didn't live up to her expectations. I'm always on the hunt for good Vietnamese food in this area! My SO and I were really excited to potentially have a new go-to restaurant but unfortunately we'll have to keep looking.. We got our go-to orders: combo pork banh mi and the five spice chicken vermicelli bowl. For the sandwich, the bread was probably my favorite part. It was perfectly toasty and crispy. However, I felt like there wasn't much meat or pate. I actually opened up the sandwich to see if there was any pate. With every bite I felt like I was just eating bread, vegetables, and soy sauce. If that's your thing, cool! But it wasn't for me. The vermicelli bowl was alright. The chicken was on the dry side, but the egg rolls made it a little better. The restaurant is modern and bright, and there's outdoor seating to enjoy the weather on nice days. There's also a huge parking lot so you don't have to worry about parking. The employees were friendly and the food came out rather quickly. I wouldn't be absolutely opposed to trying other things here, but would skip the sandwich and vermicelli. read more

I finally found a good Vietnamese place! I decided to give this place a try on a Thursday night. The restaurant was about 3/4 full and there were many takeout/delivery orders. Since my first visit, I've been back 2 more times. I've tried the vegetarian pho, vegetarian curry noodle soup, and the lemongrass tofu. I really enjoyed the pho soup, the broth was light and not oily. The curry noodle reminded me of laksa since it had coconut milk. It was also good, but felt heavier. They also use round noodles instead of the flat pho noodle. The lemongrass tofu was also tasty, you can really taste the lemongrass. If you're a fan of onions, there's a ton in this dish. I would enjoy it a bit better if they put other vegetables. Service was a little slow. Since the restaurant is still fairly new, I think they're getting used to service and also the demand of takeout orders. Overall, this place is great!
