    Super seed cookie
    Jill P.

Yes for the vegans. Most of their goods are vegan, save for a sliver of their case. Small and quaint with a good amount of menu items that are all pretty special and done with care. Got a smattering because you just have to - super seed cookie, hygge bun, and our friend got the frosnapper. Cookie was a densely packed with goodness, almost like an energy ball but bigger. Hygge bun was perfectly sweetened with soft dough. My friend demolished her frosnapper (not vegan). All in all - DELICIOUS. Will return. Oh yes. Will return.

Dear Abbey... Thank you for helping me with my purchase today! Great news on the date/almond loaves, there are dates to be found in both! Woo hoo! And of course, the hygge bun, the superseed cookie, and the Frosnapper were all delicious. I always go here for the product, but it's always a treat when the person behind the counter is also nice! Well done!

Just had a quick spot here and grabbed a pastry! I tried the Frøsnapper, and I liked the flakiness and sesame flavor. They seem to mostly specialize in various savory breads. The cashier was friendly, and it's a small interior so feels more like a grab-and-go spot. Great place for some unique, fresh-baked goods!

This place is so cute and the breads here are soooooooo good! Got the Sage Garlic Danish Bun, Shiitake Danish Bun, and Focaccia. Would definitely get all of them again. The Garlic bread was full of garlic and so good if you love garlic. Shiitake had a great umami taste. And the Focaccia was just chefs kiss! Highly recommend!! Staff was super friendly and there's 15 min parking right out front.

Oh my goodness! This store smells amazing when you first walk in. I stood there in awe looking at all the goodies (mind you i came in the morning). The cheese, butter and roll combo was amazing. I ate that up so quickly. I also got their version of a cinnamon roll and it was to die for. Not overly sweet, lots of flavors...just perfect! The staff was also super friendly and informative about their items.

Seeded sourdough toasted with the delish Sooutcraft spreadable plant cheese

Wow, where to begin?! The array of delicious breads are so tempting. The seated and charcoal sourdough are some of our favorites as are the gluten-free cookie with seeds and chocolate... And that focaccia wow the olive focaccia or their farmers specialty. Our daughter lives in Paris and we spend a lot of time there so we get to taste a lot of good bread Still the oat bakery in our sweet town make some of the best bread bar none in the world And let's talk about the spreads... They are so good. You have a variety of different organic spreads that might have some chives or truffle... Whether you are plant-based or not, you will be happy to know they are completely plant based no dairy and easy on the heart and the digestive system Sometimes I go there just for the spread, but of course walk away with the bread too

Another Santa Barbara must visit for me. Oat Bakery now has locations in Goleta,Montecito, and they deliver. I arrived early and was excited to grab some fresh baked bread and the Truffle Cashew Creme Cheese. I had studied the menu before arriving and was amazed at their non dairy spread selections. I tried the Seeded Oat Sourdough, and some repeats from my last visit, a Sage Garlic and Date Almond bun. The Truffle Cashew Creme Cheese was unique and a welcome addition topped on the bread. This adorable bakery uses minimal and organic ingredients and I finally found a spot who makes their own non dairy cream cheese. If you have dietary restrictions, I highly reccomend checking out this bakery. The bread was so delicious and fresh and the service was welcoming and friendly.

    Charcoal Sourdough Bread ~ Obsessed!

Oat Bakery is the bakery you come to when searching for a high end quality baked bread. In my case I came specifically for the charcoal sesame sourdough loaf, and I was lucky they still had some. They tend to sell out quickly, so if you're wanting to try it, then come early! The cost $20, kinda steep yes but you pay for the love and quality of ingredients that go into creating this beautiful loaf of bread. You won't find it anywhere else and it's something well worth treating yourself to. Other items I have tried are their popular superseed cookie. Made with dates, walnuts, sesame, oats and chocolate chips. This cookie is thick, hearty and you can't stop eating it! I loved that it's filled with healthy and wholesome ingredients that will keep you satisfied. It really is like eating a meal in itself. The shiitake shallot bun was a random pick on my visit, full of flavor and enjoyable with some butter slathered on it. The Frosnapper is a must try! Oat my God the first bite is a flaky stick of heavenly flavors bursting in your mouth. It's made with almond marzipan, and coated with sesame & poppy seeds. You'll definitely want to order more than just one. This bakery has several locations in town, but it's not a bakery you can dine at. It's pretty much walk-in, order and take it to go. Depending on which location you visit; the one in Montecito has outside seating areas to sit at. The customer service is ok, but I feel they could improve on making me feel more welcomed. Other than that, this bakery really does offer some amazing breads.

Oat was one of the best places we went during our time in Santa Barbara. We tried it early on during our trip and couldn't stop talking about it and returned to get more. Our favorites were the sage/garlic bread, super seed cookie, and cinnamon bun. All were so fresh and perfectly made. The staff was also friendly. This is a place I would recommend to everyone going to Santa Barbara. Of note- it is primarily for take out as there is not any seating on the inside.

    Jenna B.

Small bakery with a few sweet pastries and a few breads, seemingly made right there. The sesame twists with marzipan are a favorite of ours - a little messy to eat so grab napkins but very delicious. Right off of state street it's great place to pop into for a bite or a bread to take to the beach for a picnic. Note: no coffee

    Felice B.

Kinda tough to find/ get to, but well worth trying...for terrific tasty bread is your award. Best to bike or walk to/ from ( especially on the Tuesday Farmer's Market day- they are open until 6 pm). Organic Gluten free choices So savory Yummy cookies Got the garlic sage gluten free loaf = awesome!

this bakery seems so hyped up but it still impressed me! whatever that roll was and the danish bun with cheese and habinero apricot jam were the absolute highlights.

    Nancy H.

Love the Sage Garlic bread! It was crunchy on the outside, moisturized on the inside, and I couldn't help but eat it all. Plus I wasn't even hungry but your food made me hungry, also your service was amazing you guys were so nice and I think you deserve more than 5 stars.

A lot of indoor seating but we enjoyed our table outside, watching pedestrians on State St. and enjoying the beautiful scenery and architecture. We expected to wait to be seated but surprisingly it wasn't that busy. Order at counter and the food is brought to your table. As we waited, employee kindly gave us two free pastry samples, both delicious. All the baked goods I got to go I want again. Their scones are fabulous-slightly crunchy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. Their tea service which comes with champagne is pricey, I believe $75 per person. But interior is a perfect colorful and relaxed setting for tea. My tastebuds dream of coming back. Will be thrilled when I next indulge on their pastries and quiche.

SCORE 0 HEALTH HAZARD 10…read more This is our third time we've had issues with the staff. Today is our last time going here. There was only one person in line and 4 staff members behind the counter standing around talking to each other. Nobody greeted us or asked for our bakery order. When I said excuse me to a dirty blond girl she replied "WHAT!" and continued to joke with a co worker. When the cashier finished with their customer they walked away and even though they saw we were waiting to be helped. I looked around and saw nobody helping seated customers or us at the bakery counter. Finally, the dirty blonde ask what we need and my response was "WHAT" ?! At this point we should have left and gone to Lilac Patisserie however we proceeded to give her our order. I told another customer behind us that rudeness seems to be the norm, and she agreed. I paid for our bakery items and asked an older woman scrolling on her phone if we could have a bag for all of our boxed treats. She grabbed a handful of bags and threw them at me from across the counter. We were appalled and left. We found a place to sit on State street to eat our treats and my daughter said she didn't want her Meringue because the dirty blonde girl used the back of her ungloved hand to repeatedly wipe her nose. We threw all $50 worth of baked goods in the trash. Yes, I should have gone back and complained I'm had everything refunded but it was Mother's Day and we didn't want anything more to do with this establishment. It was also an epiphany that they don't treat everyone this way. It could be you next time. Please go somewhere else. We will never go to anywhere but Lilac Patisserie which is to the left as you exit Andersons, past the stop light. You will definitely get your money's worth and the staff is friendly, professional, and greet you immediately as you reach the counter.

GET READY FOR A TRANSCENDENT DONUT EXPERIENCE…read more Just off State Street on Figueroa, you'll find a donut shop that feels more like a craft breakfast kitchen with a serious pastry soul. The owner's love for their craft, staff, and product make for an inviting ambiance you don't find in many establishments in their class. DON'T MISS BREAKFAST Their menu goes far beyond donuts, blending whimsical, flavor-forward pastries with substantial breakfast sandwiches and bowls featuring bacon, turkey sausage, and mouthwatering, fluffy eggs that taste like they've been kissed with something buttery, creamy, and completely unforgettable. PASTRY IS IN THEIR DNA The first sign you're in the right place? Walking past stacks of pastry flour on your way to the donut counter. Nothing says "this is going to be good" like seeing the foundation of the craft right there in front of you. And these are not airy, forgettable donuts. These are brioche-style, flavor-filled, butter-forward creations that deliver exactly what the menu promises. CHOCOLATE CHERRY ALMOND OLD FASHIONED (OH MY) The Chocolate Cherry Almond Old Fashioned is in a class of its own. It surpasses every old fashioned donut I've had, with a light cake base, a low-oil profile, and none of the overly craggy, greasy edges you get from a less thoughtful donut. This is pastry territory. The chocolate and almond are subtle at first, then the cherry arrives with a dramatic full tastebud activation -- sweet, salt, fat, and bitter all working together. The cherry blooms at the back of your mouth like springtime near the Capitol in D.C. or a Japanese cherry blossom landscape. It's where cake and donut collide into something that redefines the experience for kids and kids at heart. SNAP-CRACKLE-POP TREAT WITH AN UPGRADE THAT'S SWEET The Brown Butter Rice Krispie Treat Donut is another five-star execution of both concept and flavor. The Rice Krispies are real -- not decorative. They sit in a marshmallow flow atop a lightly sweet donut that oozes buttery goodness, with just the right touch of salt to elevate the sweetness and add that extra delight on the palate. It's made with bacon, sautéed mushrooms, tomatoes, and aged Gruyère served on homemade pain de mie. Unfortunately, the sandwich was just ok. The egg and bacon was lacking which are the main things I like in a breakfast sandwich. I tasted mostly tomatoes and mushrooms; which I like but it would have been nice if it had more egg and bacon especially for the price. Also, the bread was overly toasted making it very crunchy and hard. The roof of my mouth didn't appreciate it. I prefer a softer lightly toasted bread. It also comes with your choice of potatoes or a salad. I chose the salad and it was perfect. Despite not being too fond of the sandwich, at least I know it's not for me. With plenty more options on the menu, all the more reason to come back. I'll try the croissant breakfast sandwich next time. The drip coffee here is excellent!
