My friends and I were staying near by and this place was in walking distance. Everything we ordered was amazing! We started with a pitcher of red sangria, delicious, the glasses came with fresh fruit, great presentation. The yellowtail taquitos are amazing!!! The manager Gustavo is extremely rude and incompetent at dealing with customers. My party had complained about a small serving of the beef teriyaki than usual and he insisted we were "confused" with another entre. Was introduced to Obba by some friends. Many of them had excellent taste and have sampled many restaurants around Miami. Once we got inside the place was packed. I could smell all the delicious dishes being prepared and the aroma was mesmerizing. We sat at our table and the atmosphere was chill and very inviting. Each of us ordered off their very diverse menu. We began with the sushi pizza and sushi sandwich. The flavor for the sushi pizza was excellent with a crispy flat bread and subtle tones of garlic with each bite. Highly recommend. Then we ordered our main meals And our dishes included rolls, specialty rolls, ramen, garlic soup, and even yakisoba. Each one was delicious and we all shared dishes family style. I must comment on the yakisoba. The noodles were perfectly fried and well seasoned and each bite of shrimp was more delicious than the prior and you could tell that they spent time to season them and cook them rather than the mass produced semi-raw shrimp you sometimes get from other places. Finally we ended with the Mochi and I must say as always my favorite is the red bean and it never disappoints. Definitely will return and Most definitely recommend. read more

I will say though the portion size for the food is kind of small for what you pay for. we ordered the beef teriyaki take out which was a tiny portion for 18$. unhappy with that but besides that very good. read more

I was a frequent customer from Obba Sushi since 2014, because of the good food and service, but since a while, some waiters have changed and the service started not to be that good. One week ago, my husband and I arrived for dinner and they wanted us to seat on a horrible table when a lot of other ones were available. Gently we asked to seat in another place and the woman who attended us, that was in a really bad mood and was not worried to be friendly, said no, that if we wanted, that was the table. We were very uncomfortable, and again, there were other tables available, so we decided to leave and enjoyed a good dinner in another place. I was sad because I like the food, but for me, a good and friendly service is really important, and I felt so disrespected, that I prefer don't go back there. read more

I was very pleasantly surprised. I didn't expect the amount of flavor and unique variety they put into their dishes. The eel sandwich was my favorite dish; I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered it. I also tried the Obba sandwich, but the eel sandwich still wins out in my book. Another unique dish that stood out was the Salmon tatar. Again, this dish was more than I thought it was going to be. This is now my favorite sushi place. read more

Literally sushi heaven! Nothing is better than this! Modern japan furniture and atmosphere. Parking is difficult. Best sushi ever. Staff is great and too kind. South Beach roll and Spicy Tuna Crunch roll are highly recommended when ordering sushi here. By the way it's pricy. The Thai donuts are probably the Global Food Award worthy. Best dessert ever. I love Sushi. On that note, there is a lot of crappy Sushi in Miami, especially downtown. Obba is an exception. By far, it's the best Sushi delivery place I've found downtown. BY FAR. They are fair-priced and the Sushi gets to you fresh and well-prepared. First off let me say that I love Obba Sushi and have eaten at both locations (Brickell and Coral Gables), lunch and dinner, dozens and dozens of times. I was disappointed last night in a big way. We had been out of town for the Holidays so we thought it would be nice to place an order online and pick up (from the Brickell location). After I had placed my order, I received a call saying 60 minutes to have my order completed (which seems excessive but fine). I got there 60 minutes later and the restaurant was half empty, and my order still wasn't ready. Moreover even though they insisted they had checked off my order several times, it ended up being wrong (and I assume the other guy waiting there got my much-loved Jalapeño popper roll). When my wife called to discuss the matter the person on the phone was not helpful. This is shameful treatment for a family that has literally spent thousands of dollars in your restaurant. As a service business if get it wrong you need to make it right. read more

I tried their Tuna Crunch Roll and I was left satisfied. Great flavor and I can see it was made with love. Unfortunately, was not able to experience the dine-in portion since I had to get the food to go but the little bit of time I spent in the place was very chill and love that it's by the water. This is a great new little (and I mean LITTLE) sushi place on the water in Brickell. If you didn't know it was there you'd drive right past it without noticing (which is great--I'll keep it as my little secret!). The prices are extremely reasonable and you have to try the jalapeno popper roll. Hot, spicy, and nothing short of delicious! I live in Brickell so we walked over, but if you plan on driving, be prepared to park at a metered spot on the street as they don't have any parking at the restaurant. We've only ever ordered delivery from this restaurant so I can't tell you anything about the location, cleanliness or staff. That being said, this restaurant is awesome for people who are vegan and gluten-free. The veggie sushi was a good value, beautifully prepared and clever (That's what the 4 stars is for, there might be more if we ever make it over there and get to check out the location and service). Adding sun-dried tomato was very much appreciated. The rice wasn't overly sweet or tart (a common 'Westernization' of traditional sushi rice). The seaweed salad wasn't drenched in dressing. My friends had 'omnivore's remorse' because they were jealous of my veggie rolls. The presentation was charming and I appreciated the eco-friendly packaging. read more

The place looks okay however we sat there for 35 minutes after they took our order then the waiter came back after me going to ask what was going on and said he forgot what our order was and then we never even ate because they never brought our food. Would not recommend. The tuna was hot pink in color and the flavor was not right. 60% of the menu is made up of rolls with immitation crab and caviar. The shrimp tempura seemed as if they deep fried it days before they used it to make the roll I ordered, it was cold and bland. They served the roll with a yellow curry sauce? Not good. None of the food was good. Service was barely ok, but the lack of it was very apparent. We ate our entire meal, and waited nearly 20 minutes after for the check with no acknowledgement. The Jalapeno popper role is the most delicious thing I have eaten in years!

The food is good, the lunch menu is great and since they opened i am a client. BUT they completely lost me in my last visit! The service is horrible, disorganized and I complaint many times about it. Last time I was there with my 2 small children at lunch time ( around 1:30pm) I told a waitress that i was waiting for a table she said ok and a couple went in and was seated at the same time ! I got SO mad that since i haven't gone back or ordered delivery! What disrespectful way to treat a client with two small children ! Even if i didn't have any children i was there first! She could have told the couple that i was there waiting but no she didn't say anything. So I left ! read more

DISGUSTING! I poured out vegetable soup into my bowl and discovered 3 or four flies in the soup and what appeared to be a maggot. I was in a hurry to eat and only realized this after almost finishing the soup! I used to frequent this place often but never again after this disgusting experience! I used to love this place and I once thought this place was the best Asian restaurant in Miami. However, as time goes by..this place is just getting worse and worse. One day, I decided to go to eat in and while I was eating, I found a cockroach crawling on the table. I complained about it and the waiter didn't really care. There is no consistency..I love their Kimchi Tuna Tartar..sometimes it's good..sometimes it's just awful. Same applies for Hot SP rolls and Chicken Teriyaki as well. I had a missing item for delivery. I informed about it and the lady on the phone aggressively kept insisting and tried to argue with me saying she didn't miss any item. I asked her that why would I lie about a 8 dollar food..It was just going on and on..later on she gave me an option either she could send the missing item again or she could give me a credit. They once charged me twice on my credit card. I could have disputed to the bank; however, I tried to solve the issue with the restaurant. Again, the same lady on the phone answered and she had no intention to sort it out. (I disputed the transaction to the bank and it was resolved) I personally think this place has lots of potential. Food selection is EXCELLENT. As I mentioned above, kimchi tuna tartar, obba sandwich, salmon/chicken teriyaki, crocante roll and so and on. Being a New Yorker that recently moved to Miami, I encountered two difficult situations: 1) finding good authentic sushi and 2) ordering delivery easily and in English. Obba made both easy for me. The food is high quality and you can order on your computer. I have ordered several times from Obba, always getting fresh maki rolls, great spicy tuna and salmon avocado. The miso soup is decent and the regular and seaweed salads are delicious too. I would recommend Obba as the perfect sushi place in the Brickell area. So why do I only give it 3 stars? To get 4 or 5 stars for sushi, you must be AMAZING, and Obba is not, it is decent and it is affordable (and they have an internet loyalty program now too). They also provide eco-friendly containers, but they lack anything to put soy sauce in. I should know better than to assume delivery sushi is as good as the sushi bar, but I will continue to order from Obba, you know what you are getting - decent, fresh, sushi! read more

Very sad and disappointing experience! I came in around 2 in the afternoon and sat at a dirty table for approximately 10 minutes. None of the servers even came to greet me at the table, nor they told me they were busy and that they needed some time. They were NOT busy! i work next door to OBBA (at the hairsalon) i love this place sooooooo much that sometimes i eat here for lunch & dinner. hey! a little mercury poisoning never hurt anyone-right? anyway this place is tiny but they do deliver-in a precious little smart car. i want it! i'm here ALL the time-the fish is fresh and the food in general is very good! however! i'm music sensitive and sometimes what they play makes my ears cry real tears. and the service at times can be a bit slow-but who cares? its miami,need i say more? they offer great lunch specials and there's even a happy hour(yes i know,i'm the luckiest girl ever :) sit outside or get takeout if youre music sensitive like me-and do a drive by the hairsalon and say hello! bring me a spicy tuna crunch roll! read more
