Midorie bowl sub salmon for the crab
    Rachel H.

A hidden gem in coconut grove. Midorie is my go to when I am craving a fresh sushi bowl. I go for the Midorie bowl and often sub the crab for extra salmon but the fish is flavorful and I love all the toppings that come with the bowl - edamame, mushrooms, cucumber, and tobiko. The restaurant is on the smaller side so on a weekend there may be a short wait but it is well worth it.

Midorie is a great new option for sushi in Coconut Grove. This is an authentic sushi restaurant, so... keep that in mind. Midorie is not the kind of place where the fish is buried under a ton of sauce and crunchy toppings. We had the omakase nigiri, which currently runs at a $100 bucks. Also had the Midorie roll, spicy tuna roll, and a few of the single piece nigiri. Everything was super fresh, very tasty. BYOB kind of a place. There is no corkage fee. Across the street from the restaurant, there is a convenience store that sells sake in case you forget to bring your own. Service was perfect, always attentive without being intrusive. Ambiance is kind of nice when sitting inside the restaurant.. outside in the terrace is very plain. It's definitely a great place for sushi if you like the simplicity of the art of Nigiri. I don't give it 5 stars because of the way they do their omakase. Also, it needs better plates for some dishes... such as seaweed salad, among other things. Overall, it is a great place for real sushi lovers.

My friend asked me to come with her here and I'm super happy she did! This is a cute hidden spot in the Grove from the same owners as Wabi Sabi. My friend opted for the omakase which was $100 and served all at once on a plate and I got the Midorie bowl which was really good and I found to be a good value! Really delicious fish and sushi! They do not take reservations and they are BYOB and don't charge you a corkage fee or anything.

Absolutely love this small spot. The staff is so friendly and comforting and the seafood is so fresh. Tip this is a byob. Definitely some of the best and freshest sushi in Miami at this price point. Do the omakase

10/10 will try again THE PRICE IS RIGHT!!! in love with the traditional dining experience, from the food to the atmosphere. the service was quick and the sashimi was out of this world. most affordable omakase i've seen so far in miami. i have always been a salmon and tuna lover but the white fish was so flavorful and fresh! it changed how i felt towards raw white fish forever. will be going back to try their nigiri and sashimi omakase. check out their instagram @midorie_miami

Remains to be the best sushi I've had in Miami. Cozy location, great staff/customer service, and good pricing.

We were so happy that we did, the ambience is so nice in there they had a skylight in the roof in the dining room that gives you a lot of beautiful natural light and the decor is modern and chic. Not to mention the awesome selfie mirror in one of their bathrooms (photo below, hehe) I can't remember our server's name, he was a younger guy with shoulder length hair, he was so great, giving us all the time we needed to make a decision and then extra time at the end to chat and schmooze and finish our drinks, even when all of the food was gone without pressuring us to pay and leave and free up the table. The happy hour menu is from 4 to 7 and has a number of good options, we tried the spicy margarita and it was so good. Passionfruit flavor, not as spicy as I would have hoped. I think they mostly dropped a jalapeño slice in there in there and called it a day, but still really refreshing and nice. I also got the garden salad since I love the ginger dressing, and it was true to its form I got the Alex #2 roll and the South Miami roll off the happy hour menu, I believe these were the only two sushi rolls there, they each came with six or seven pieces and everything in total was a great size for me. Not to mention the prices were great, less than $10 for each of these rolls. We tried the gyoza for the table and it was also fresh perfectly crispy, but not too much so as well as the taras tuna and tuna tartare. The only dishes I don't think we'd order again where the chicken teriyaki and the chicken Katsu - the chicken itself was good, but the chicken teriyaki came as a kind of Mish mashed plate slapoed together, not enough for a variety and texture for my taste. The chicken Katsu was also missing the signature Japanese curry sauce that usually comes with it. They did give a sauce that we thought was the curry but when we actually tried it, it was more like a watery barbecue sauce and a little disappointing. But The fish was all very fresh and delicious. I thought for the happy hour price It was a great deal and a great time. I don't come to Coco walk that often but I would definitely come back when I do

We were seated in the back area and greeted by very friendly staff. We ordered a few rolls and they came quickly as well as the beautiful margaritas. Spicy tuna roll looked and tasted like beat up tuna and the hamachi was drenched in soy sauce before getting plated on top of soy sauce and oil at the bottom. Why?! Waste of good fish or covering up bad fish taste? The only sushi roll that didn't have imitation crab or tempura shrimp was the Seattle amigo roll, but it was drenched in sweet sauce. 0/10 would not recommend anything we ordered if you enjoy good sushi...

For happy hour, I've had the rainbow poke ($7), and the buy 2 get 1 skewers, and the ebi croquette ($11). All were good but not that filling. I would say in terms of deals, you get more bang for your buck with the lunch specials. For lunch, I shared the mai premium lunch ($28) and the udon soup ($16). The premium lunch came with miso soup and 9 small dishes in a beautiful bento box. Definitely aesthetically pleasing and I liked the variety. The udon soup was also great with chewy udon noodles, sweet savory soup, and tempura shrimp/veggies. Service was attentive and nice. Parking available via street parking or you can pay in nearby parking garages. I wouldn't bring a big party based on the limited seating arrangements inside. All in all good food. I would consider coming back for their lunch specials.
