Oc Cay Dua is located in San Jose, which is known for it's Vietnamese food. We went there specifically to eat snails, since it's rare in the Bay Area too find a restaurant that serves them. Everything was cooked well, and the tastes were great! I wasn't the biggest fan of the egg yolk sauce, mostly because it did not have a very strong taste, and ended up being a bit bland. I also wish that the portion sizes were larger, since there weren't that many snails for the price. I enjoyed the experience overall, and would recommend trying this place out if you like snails!

Great if you like drinking food with friends. Nothing fancy but had varieties of snails and how it is prepared.

Amazing staff, really great food and I thought it was such a good way to taste snails

I haven't back here for a while, new decor and the foods is much better than before believed new management or new chef. If you looking for a family menu with Vietnamese street foods, come here! It is better than Dong Que in terms of foods, quality and prices! I came here for early dinner on Friday, even though it was empty but I like the quietness. They had so many street foods such as varieties of "OC" snail in different sauces. Their portion is good too.

My family always comes here whenever we're craving Vietnamese cuisine. The portions are generous, and the dishes are packed with so much flavor. They give you 3 types of sauce on the side if you want to pair it with any of the food. We always get the grilled pork with rice (4.5/5), razor clams with vegetables (5/5), and the grilled beef rolled in lolot leaves (5/5). The last one is a must try! Any of the grilled seafood options, like the oysters, are also very good. They come on a sizzling plate, and the smell is absolutely mouthwatering. Don't sleep on this place, and give it a try!

An overall decent experience, but things could've been better. Our server took our order without writing it down, which resulted in them bringing out a wrong item. I expected something complimentary in return for their mistake, but nothing was offered. Also, I think the quality has gone down from how it was back then. The fish in the Canh Chua was definitely frozen since the texture was tougher than if it were to be fresh. The restaurant was clean and had nice decor, giving it a nice environment to eat/drink. One item I definitely recommend is the Goi Bo Tai Chanh. It was super fresh and flavorful.

Beef goi was good here - not too sweet or salty - went well with the shrimp chips :) The restaurant was clean and the staff very welcoming !

This is something new , new like new generation fusion style of bar and grill restaurant. Fun, reinvent the old way of preparing food to cater to newer generations and customers. Here is my scoring card for this restaurant: 1) Location: ( 5 Point ) - somewhat Great location for customer to see and find. 2) Decoration : (2 Point) - They still have the original decoration. Clean but not up to date. 3) Price: ( 4 point)- The price is competitive but still a little bit pricey compare to other same stars and type food they serve 4) Quality and Taste : ( 3 point)- The quality is ok, food taste is good and portions are below average . 5) Type of cuisine standard : ( 4 point) - The style of Vietnamese food they serve is pretty close to the way it was prepare in Vietnam . Not bad! But some dishes did have slightly modify to cater the customer's need Overall it's not bad and I thinks it's great to give it a try and let me know what you think. Go foodies Total max is 25 Score 18 Stars = 72% round up to 3 stars

We ordered the balut, snails, and veal. The food was okay, nothing to rave about. I do wish the balut was made fresh after we order. I felt like the balut had been sitting there. The veal was not great, maybe it's because the sauce was made different and it didn't cut the anchovy smell. Wish it had more lime flavor to it. The snails were decent, the coconut sauce was pretty tasty but a couple of the snails had sand inside. Would probably check out another spot that does a similar style of Vietnamese street food.

Yum I brought my boyfriend over to grab his first Oc (snail) dish ever!! We ordered: - com this nuong: ehh not good at all. Veggies felt old. Meat and all that wasn't good as well.. 2/5 stars - Oc Len Dua: YUMMMM! Coconut milk is added so it's salty and sweet! 5/5 stars - baked scallops: so different yet so good! It's mixed with egg, peanuts, and some random goodies so it's extra good! 4/5 stsrs It definitely did not disappoint! We definitely are coming back soon

Food was ok here and service was just a bit slow. I came here on a weeknight with my family and it was a chill vibe. got a lot of the seafood on the hot plates with garlic butter, my favorite had to be the scallops with the fish roe and scallions. The canh chua needed more fish sauce for sure, and the clay pot fish was not one of my faves, I think the bar food is better here than the entrees.

The good: My family tried this place for the first time recently after a recommendation we got from some friends that love to eat "nhau" food. I got the seafood hot pot, goi oc rau muong (snail salad) with rice crackers, quail, and snails with herbs and peanuts all for to-go. All of these dishes were really unique and well seasoned (or came with a sticky/thick and tasty fish sauce concoction). The highlight was the broth for the hot pot. It was super flavorful and tasty and reminded me of Vietnamese canh chua dish. It has a sweet and sour taste, similar to Thai hot pot. The seafood hot pot came with shrimp, roe filled fish balls, fish balls, vegetables, clams, fried fish cake and more. The clams were fresh (they were even moving). The shrimp were also fresh. I liked that the snails came with wooden sticks for you to pry the clam out. The bad: The quail didn't have much meat on them so it isn't something I'd order again. The interesting: They gave tons of soup for the hot pot so we had a lot of leftover that we used later on for more hot pot nights at home. We just added water because the flavor condensed. They have a lot of interesting dishes here that you probably cant find elsewhere (snails, clams, and frog legs).

What I LOVE from SJ Eggrolls is the garlic noodles with the garlic butter shrimp. IT SO DELICIOUS! One of the best garlic noodles I've ever had and the shrimp was tasty. Shrimp was cooked perfectly and the shell was soft to eat. Another item I love here is the banh khot! So crispy, fresh, and fried well. Very limited seating, this is more of a take out spot. I was especially hoping the spring rolls would be similar to the ones I love from Brodard in Southern California, so I came in with my fingers crossed. They have some nice combo deals, but I wanted to sample a few different items instead. I ordered one of each of the fried egg rolls (only $2 each) and originally ordered the pork and shrimp spring rolls. While I was waiting, I changed my mind and decided I wanted to try the Nem Nuong rolls instead. They were incredibly nice and changed my order without any issues, which I really appreciated. The place was extremely busy, so I ended up waiting about 15-20 minutes, but it was definitely worth it. The net-wrapped egg roll was excellent, super crispy with great flavor. Just be sure to eat it over a plate or with a bag underneath because those crunchy flakes go everywhere! The regular egg roll was slimmer than I expected, but it was also very tasty. The Nem Nuong rolls were good too. They didn't quite reach the level I was hoping for compared to Brodard, but they were still very enjoyable. The house dipping sauce was delicious and really complemented the rolls. They also include a small container of hot sauce for anyone who likes a little spice. I tried it, but honestly preferred sticking with the house sauce. The restaurant itself is small and simple, with only about three tables, so it seems like it's geared more toward takeout, which was obvious from the steady stream of takeout orders while I was there. Next time, I'll probably call my order in ahead of time to save some waiting. Overall, a great spot for Vietnamese appetizers at reasonable prices. I'll definitely be back to work my way through more of the menu.

Despite it being in a big lot, parking still took a while to find. Thankfully, we had thankfully just beat the lunch rush and not had to wait longer than 10 minutes for a table. My friend and I shared a Northern spread (Bun Cha Ha Noi) and a Southern style Goat Curry (Banh Mi Cari De). Service was definitely on the slower side that day, but thankfully we were proactive at getting the orders in. The Bun Cha Ha Noi was delicious - pretty much a DIY spring roll - all the fun, all the mess, with none of the clean up other than licking the plates clean. The pork belly was delicious; I was surprised how much I liked it, since I'm not a fan of pork. I devoured numerous rolls, and we also had some extra vermicelli to finish off the rest of the protein. This single meal was definitely more than enough for two! The Banh Mi Cari De (goat curry) was unfortunately quite the opposite. The goat was cooked very well - tough, gamy, and difficult to eat. There were probably six pieces in total, our first was tender, our second had bone, a little harder to chew, and the last was best compared to rubber. The curry was a bit watery, which made the banh mi soggy when dipped in. This was probably an adventurous try, but not a dish I'd ever consider ordering again.
