We had a group of like 8ish people so obvi there was more food that the above. This is just a few dishes I could name that I was a part of. Service is kinda hands off. They deliver your food and will grab whatever you need when requested. Beers are self serve. Just put the empty bottles in a box at the end of the table and they'll count the bottles in the end. Hole in the wall restaurant that serves up a variety of goat dishes. This place is definitely catered as "Vietnamese beer food" and you'll definitely find groups of older gentlemen getting loud and drunk. The place itself isn't so big and there is not that many parking in the back however all of the times that I've gone there were tables available. Beer is self served- there's a fridge of different beers and soda and you help yourself as you please. They'll tack it on your bill at the end. I normally order the smoked veal with onion. It's thinly sliced and can be dipped in their fish sauce which has a nice sour taste. I also order the goat soup which comes with a good portion of egg noodles and veggies. While I'm not sure if it's the same owner, the menus are very similar; however, the portions here are more generous, and both the food quality and service are consistently better. I typically order the small goat hotpot with bean curd (which is plenty for two people) and the Veal Gioi Be Thui. It always hits the spot and satisfies my cravings. This place just got a new face lift and although it feels 90% done inside (see the ceiling panels they used, shows design of the product) the rest of this place is modern. The food is not my cup of tea but I went more for my wife to eat because she hasn't had this since Vietnam. The taste she said is just like Vietnam which is a plus. Oh man this place is great! First time here and came during a Monday night football game so it was a bit rowdy. Doesn't bother me at all but probably should know if you're coming here expecting a nice and peaceful dinner lol. Everything I had was pretty good. We came here after seeing good reviews but it wasn't as good as I was hoping for. Razor clamps was hard as a rock and no taste. It's definitely not fresh. Mussels has no taste either and very small. Shrimp in the combination noodles was rock solid as well. We had a dish but I forgot the name but supposedly it was rabbit meat. Never had rabbit meat before but it tasted like it was pork. After having Binh Minh bookmarked for what seems like a lifetime, my guy and I finally took the plunge and made our way to the restaurant. Located offa Santa Clara & 21st Street, this little shack has seen better days and can easily be missed. I arrived to a single table full of men tossing back Heinekens and drunkenly singing a random Vietnamese tune. All eyes were on us as our party of two stepped in. I literally hesitated and thought about exiting the building. Lmao. We seated ourselves in the corner and were immediately given menus. The entire menu consisted of 19 items and primarily contained goat. We placed our order for: Tiet Canh [aka Vietnamese "pizza"]- raw coagulated duck blood topped with innards. Lau De Nau Chao [goat hotpot] Tiet Canh - where do I begin?? This dish was not on the menu but ordering it by name or pulling it up on yelp and pointing at the picture does the job. I anticipated that this bizarre food would taste like a wet bandaid and was incredibly wrong- it was not metallic|irony and seriously contained no flavor prior to dipping it into the designated sauce. The texture resembles jello and the tiny bits of duck made for an interesting feel. Fresh veggies and herbs help distract you from what you are consuming but I am far from being an avid fan. Lau De was the highlight of our meal, granted there wasn't much of a competition. The broth flavor was good and it complimented the bitterness of the greens provided. The egg noodles were piled high and the dish contained a good amount of goat chunks. There was no gamey factor but be advised that the bits containing skin was extremely chewy. 2 stars overall for the food and factoring cost. Food here is on the pricier side of things so come prepared with a wade of moolah- Binh Minh is cash only. +1 star because this place is undeniably skilled when it comes to preparing these bizarre foods and ensuring that everything tasted clean. No gross, unwanted, lingering flavors up in this joint. I can't say I'll be back- our party left full but not remotely satisfied. Stopped by the restaurant for lunch today. While the exterior is far from fancy and the interior rather spartan, we knew we had come to the right place when we noted a goat head on their sign with the legend "Dê 7 Món" -- "Goat 7 Ways." Although there were some communication challenges with the friendly staff, we were able to order a couple of grilled goat dishes (on the Bình Minh menu Nos. 4 (Dê Nng Vì - Grilled Goat) and 6 (Dê Chà Chìa Già Cày - Grilled Ground Goat)). No. 4 was small slices of meat served sprinkled with sesame seeds and a soy bean based spicy dipping sauce on the side, served with a plate of mint and what I think was basil. No. 6 was like a ground kebab cooked on a lemongrass stalk. We also ordered their Goat Soup (No. 10 - Lâu Dê Nâu Chao) which we had noted was highly recommended by other YELP reviewers. It was served in a pot on a portable burner at our table, with sides plates of greens and skinny dry noodles. After some pantomime we figured out we were to add the greens and noodles to a bowl and then ladle the soup over them. The three dishes were all OK but nothing was outstanding. The best dish was the soup which had a very rich broth (a miso-like soy bean base with, perhaps, duck broth if we understood correctly). The chunks of goat in it were nicely chewy, in part because several include pieces of the skin. We would have the No. 4 grilled goat dish again - probably not the No. 6 since it was rather dry and without much flavor. read more

My friends and I always ordered two portions of tiet canh when we're here. I came here with my fiance for dinner, but supposedly this place is the draw for lunch. It sits next to Giovanni's, which is busy itself. I ordered Mi Wonton (egg noodles soup with wontons). This is my standard that I base my noodle soup dish off of. My fiance had bun bo hue (spicy beef noodle soup). Man, since leaving San Diego, it was hard for me to find a place that reminds me of home, but this place comes very freaking close. The broth is excellent, and they use the thin egg noodles (girlfriend prefers this over the thick egg noodles). The wontons had just the right amount of flavor, and they weren't overly salty. I am use to wontons with shrimp inside them, but all pork wontons aren't bad either. The bun bo hue was damn good. I only had one place better in San Jose. The owner was really nice. For those of you who have more of an acquired taste, this is one of THE places you gotta try. From goat nipples, to duck blood, intestines, etc. My personal favorite exotic food is duck blood or what many people call "Vietnamese pizza". You must have it with, garlic/ginger fish sauce, mint, basil, lemon, and of course.. actual chili pepper (optional). These add ons are required in order to get rid of the fishy taste. The peanuts, and banh trang (sesame cracker), and liver are optional add ons for texture. It pairs well with beer, commonly with Corona or Heineken. Tip: the beer helps wash down the fishy taste as well if the taste is too much for you. I also LOVE their Lau De (Goat hotpot), that shit is fire! The broth is packed with flavor. The taro helps thicken and intensifies the broth by mellowing out the flavors. The taro and goat together, along with other add on herbs release a sweet scent that is nothing like I've ever smelt before! Mmm.. The guy came before me bought his order but he looks frustrated and angry. When I came in just after that guy, that bitch told us, oh sorry they didn't receive mine order and told us there's nothing left on order, we have to wait for 30 mins or more, and they told us we had to drive 1 hrs more to get our order.
