I've had a few meals with friends and family at the new Ocean 193. The space is beautiful with blue ocean colors and the best view of the Bay of any restaurant in Provincetown! The food has been very good and consistent. Their tuna poke bowl is great and more artfully arranged than poke bowls I see on high end restaurant reviews on TV. I - and my friends- love their soft shell crab. The coating is crisp and tempura like. The crab itself was moist and meaty and bigger than at other restaurants that serve soft shell crab. We all also love the little gougere like starters they give instead of bread for dinner service. They're so light, tasty and unique. Can't wait to try more things at Ocean 193! read more

We went to Ocean 193 for our anniversary dinner. They were doing a prix fixe menu. Everything about this restaurant FAR exceeded expectations. My girlfriend got the chicken tortilla soup, steak tacos, and peach empanada. I got the bruschetta, seafood linguine, and lemon mousse cupcake. She had a local beer and I had the spicy mango margarita. Everything was absolutely delicious and beautifully, uniquely presented - even to the point of bringing the chicken corn tortilla soup out in two separate presentations, pouring the soup into the bowl right at our table so the tortilla strips wouldn't get soggy and the avocado wouldn't be too warm and mushy. Our server, Ned, was probably the best server I've ever had, anywhere. Never hovering, he had the perfect level of attentiveness, and was conversational without overdoing it or violating our space. He clearly knew the menu and drinks very well and it was obvious he is proud to work there. We will definitely be recommending this place to our friends, and we'll definitely be back! read more

We miss the Pied because it was the only women's dance club left after the Vixen went out, so we were sad when Lea Delaria bought it and turned it into a. . . supper club? jazz club? Not sure what. We had an amazing dinner tonight at Ocean 193. We overlooked the most incredible view of the bay. We split a very flavorful corn coconut chowder, tasty fried oysters as apps. My husbands lobster roll was overflowing with huge chunks of lobster meat. I had a snapper that was moist and spicy! Everything was wonderful. The staff was very attentive and the atmosphere was lively and fun. Did I mention the views?? Can't be beat. I think the best in town!! We will definitely be back! I highly recommend! read more

Tried this spot for the first time. They didn't have any seats available because we forgot to call ahead for a reservation (oops!) but they were so nice and found a spot for us at the bar. The bar tenders were SO NICE. They were incredibly attentive, giving me a free drink after I sucked mine down (it was so good.) My partner is allergic to gluten and dairy and they were incredibly knowledgeable on their allergy practices and what she can eat/substitutions she can have. She was able to have a delicious meal. Everything was SO GOOD. The food was incredible and it was the best food and service we had all week. Highly recommend you try it out. read more

We had a fabulous meal at Ocean193 in Provincetown last night despite having to switch tables to get away from a very angry and abusive customer making a fool of himself next to us. He was yelling and threatening that " there better be lots of fish in my risotto", which would have been funny if he'd been joking. The staff managed him with admirable grace.They got the man to calm down by putting extra fish in his meal ( which he did not deserve). Our tuna poke was as always superb convincing us once again that the chef and service there is the best around! The view is AMAZING. The cocktails taste like something a 19 year old would hand you in their parents basement and say "isn't that good?" They're sickly sweet and not balanced at all- legit tastes like they dumped flavored vodka and simple syrup in the mixer and called it a day. The food is also - in true Provincetown fashion - very bad. The scallops tasted old (and curiously unspiced), the glaze is too sugary, the whole dish is a mess (especially for $40!). I was familiar with Provincetown food quality, so I ordered a salad, figuring the ingredients looked good, and how much can you screw up a salad? But it was just not very good - mostly greens, not nearly enough goat cheese or sunflower seeds to give it flavor. The prices are unfathomably high: ran us about $150 for a salad, two cocktails each, and the scallops. We also waited nearly half an hour after sitting down to place a drinks order - I'm guessing they're understaffed for how busy they get. But hey - that view really is beautiful! read more

Our experience was a mixed bag for sure. We were welcomed warmly and seated at a lovely table on the deck with view of the bay. Our server was hospitable and attentive. Wine list is solid. They brought out complimentary "cheese bread" which was really more of a gougere- it was okay but a bit chewy. We started with the red snapper ceviche which was quite good. My wife had the pasta with mussels and clams which she liked very much. I got the mushroom risotto which - as a prior reviewer noted about their seafood risotto - was undercooked. The rice was way more than al dente. Making it more strange was the fact that it was very brothy / soupy. The dish tasted fine but the textures were all off. We ordered the key lime pie for dessert which was just plain bad - texture was that of an overcooked cheesecake and didn't taste like key lime much at all. When the server noticed we didn't eat it, she asked for feedback and comped it with apologies. She was lovely! Not sure we'd go back which is too bad as so many of the dishes sound promising! Fortunate to find this gem among all the choices in P-town. One of the few places that accept reservations for Sunday brunch. We passed many places that had lines out the door waiting and 193 is still a bit off the radar so there were plenty of open tables. The view, the service and the food were all first rate. All I can say is, do not expect the food to come out quickly. We arrived at 7:15pm and it's now 8:45pm and as I type this, we're still waiting. We did get our jalapeño poppers a while ago. Bland and uninspired. Servers are very nice but the problem is clearly in the kitchen. read more

Greeted by an energetic and kind host which was a good start. Seated at an extremely small table round table for two with barely enough room for place settings and the meal that followed. Very attractive room... inside and outside with fantastic view but that's where it ends. Fish Tacos w/ 3 sauces. Sounds like good things but it's not. Would much rather the kitchen make a decision and drizzle each with one sauce... a lime crema or similar would be great. The 3 sauces didn't work, and the fish was completely under seasoned. Crying out for salt. And then there's the Seafood Flatbread, which is a complete miss. More like a flat cracker with burnt edges. Very small with next to nothing on top in terms of seafood and salad and therefore extremely overpriced. Again... no seasoning or drizzle of anything on top. Bland, flavorless and crying out for salt or something. The worst part is the Flatbread wasn't cut!!! Never heard of anyone serving a Flatbread without cutting it. We sat there trying to cut the Flatbread at our table or rip it apart as most of the few unseasoned toppings fell onto the table. An absolute mess. To be fair, this is their first season and we're hoping they work out the kinks. But l would suggest they lose the tiny tables for two, cut the flatbread and introduce the chef to salt! read more

Ocean 193 is definitely my new go-to spot for the summer. The transformation of the space is impressive, and it's waterfront dining at its finest. The ambiance, service, and food are all spectacular. My personal favorite is the Short Rib sandwich--it tastes like a pot roast on a bun, with hearty, rich gravy sauce that makes it at least a 5-napkin meal. I am NOT one to want to put a business down but honestly the way the staff treated me I don't feel that bad sharing....If these are the kind of people they are going to have lead their team then they honestly deserve the backlash they'll inevitably receive. I can't believe my experience at Ocean 193. I left shocked, upset and horrified. Let me get the good out of the way... Blake, our server was kind, apologetic and attentive. The host was great. The views are wonderful. Apps were good. My friend and I both ordered the seafood risotto. The seafood was cooked really well. The risotto was WAY undercooked. To the point if I pinched some of the pieces of rice between my fingers it remained fully in tact. Risotto shouldn't be crunchy... We picked away the seafood until the waiter came back (which to no fault of his own was a little while) and let him know our concern. We asked if it could be cooked more or if they could bring us out a side of rice to share. He apologized and got his manager. Unfortunately, didn't get the managers name (his title was lead server). This person came over and said we ate our seafood (full bowl of risotto still left) so it's too late to do anything and the kitchen was too busy to cook our rice further but he's happy to give us a dessert on the house. He left and the owner came over... we explained again and he said he apologized and would handle it. Then the lead server comes back- we think this time to tell us they are firing risotto for us. NOPE. "Just so you know, the risotto was cooked to PERFECTION. 90% of the population likes it this way so I don't know what's wrong with you. Want to educate me on how you THINK it should be done?" To spare you the novel I could write... he continued to gaslight me (ex: "do you know what al dente means??") and argue. The folks next to us leaned in to tell us they were also shocked by the waiters behavior towards me. "What dessert do you want, that is all I am going to offer you"... "None, thank you." He looks me in my eyes and goes "WOOOOOW. WOWWWWW. WOW." and walks off. My jaw just dropped to the floor at that point. Also, not for nothing, but he called me FELLA three times... I am quite obviously a woman. Way to really drive home the petulance. Here's the thing...you'd THINK they could at least bring us a side of rice... or more bread or SOMETHING. Usually when a dish is sent back that becomes kitchen's priority.. It was just an awful experience. They ended up comping the dishes as the owner said he was too busy to deal with us any further (ha...). A nice gesture, I suppose, but not what we wanted- we left hungry and so beyond upset. We tipped Blake based off of the dishes being on the bill because he really was kind and apologetic to later learn tips are pooled go figure. I would literally eat ANYWHERE else the next time I visit P-Town. Sad. read more

First of all, the restaurant is beautiful inside and out. We were there on their opening weekend for lunch. We sat outside on their deck overlooking Provincetown harbor, it's the best view in town. They focus on seafood in an innovative way....the food is pretty to look at and pretty darn delicious as well! My cousin had the poke bowl where he chose tuna as the protein. He said it was the prettiest poke bowl he's ever seen and should be a model for all poke. I had the Greek salad with chicken. It's a a village salad (no lettuce) which I prefer, presented in a plantain bowl with a balsamic reduction. I chose chicken as my protein but you can choose shrimp, scallops, or the vegan quinoa fritters. My partner really enjoyed the softshell crab sandwich, and we all dug into the home made potato chips that came with it. Martin our server was friendly and efficient.
