The staff were friendly, the ambiance was nice, but the food was pricey for what you get. The waiter brought out room temperature water, which was a touch disappointing. We ordered the guacamole and chips appetizer. It was $15 and only came with a handful of chips and the equivalent of one avocado in guacamole. We each ordered pasta dishes (the gnocchi and the penne), which only came with sauce, no bread, no nothing. Also, be sure to bring your own salt and pepper. There wasn't any on the table and we didn't have the opportunity to ask for any because we didn't see our server after the food was brought to our table. I made a reservation to spend New Year's Eve dinner with my family at this place through Open Table and a night that was supposed to be magical got ruined because the manager/owner only cares about taking people's money and has ZERO customer service. He came to our table while we were still having dinner and said we had to leave as they needed our table for another party. We were at the restaurant for around an hour (Open Table says large parties can stay for 2:30h) We couldn't believe what was happening and we felt SO uncomfortable as we were being kicked out of the place while we still had half a bottle of wine on the table to finish and were planning on ordering desserts. We had never been to Miami before and chose this restaurant after walking up and down the street a few times. It seemed like a good choice from the outside, but we were wrong. When I asked if there were any drinks specials, the waitress seemed annoyed, said, "no", and pointed at the menu. When she took our order my daughter wanted salmon, so I asked if there were any options for kids. She said, "no" again and pointed at the $32.00 meal on the menu. We sat for the duration of our meal and nobody ever asked how we were doing or if everything was okay. When our food arrived, I cut pieces of the salmon off and realized it was raw on the inside. When we asked the waitress she said, "we can cook it more if you want". Nobody ever apologized for having given us raw fish in the first place. She scraped away the chopped up bits, and brought the same ones back heated up. The food was less than appetizing and the mashed potatoes had to be cooked from a box. The waitress leaned on the wall for most of the time and only left to clear a table or collect a cheque. After paying for our meal, she returned the cheque, but did not return our credit card. We had to ask for it back. During our meal, we watched as 2 people tried to lure in more customers. They should have spent the time ensuring that their current guests weren't having a horrible experience. There was a 14% gratuity added to the cheque automatically, which I think is ridiculous. The idea of a gratuity is supposed to be based on the quality of service and we never would have tipped someone for the worst service we have ever experienced. It was absolutely terrible. It would have been better if the food was good, but it was under average. I will never go here again or recommend it to anyone. Since than, we have had more enjoyable experiences. It is just too bad that this was our first impression of the food culture in Miami. There are several other restaurants where staff are very friendly. Save yourself the time and choose a different restaurant. read more

Saturday night service was a little bit too slow. We waited for our food for almost 40min. The pizzas are good and the lobster ravioli is yummy. Do not waste money on the paella it has maybe 4-5 shrimps and a few muscles and not too much vegetables, lots of rice which is not worth ordering a $45 plate for rice pretty much. read more

A shout out to Luigi for building a gorgeous bar and opening a classy restaurant on Ocean Drive (1320) for locals and others who appreciate his excellent Italian dishes. What a difference from the tourist spots on Ocean Drive (although we do love the new Cafe Americano and The Betsy) and so worth seeking out. We went to Cavalier Hotel Restaurant, Ocean Bistro this evening and we were pretty disappointed. My girlfriend ordered the Mahi sandwich and I had the chicken parmigiana. The piece of mahi was very small, about 2"x2" on a 6" bun, which made it appear even smaller. The mahi sandwich came with French fries and we asked to substitute for truffle out fries. The waiter said there would be an up charge but we were charged $12 for a full order. My chicken parmigiana was very good and came with two sides. I got mashed potatoes which had a funny taste and a side salad which was ordered with ranch dressing. I had to ask twice for the dressing and it was finally brought out after finishing the meal. I brought all of this up to manager, he said he would bring another piece of mahi but we were already finished eating. He offered to bring a complementary dessert which was ok. Afterwards we were charged 20% gratuity. Overall extremely disappointing meal. While the staff was nice , I would definitely avoid eating here. Despite how hard the manager sold us on the restaurant, we felt extremely let down. $80 or a 2x2 piece of mahi and a chicken parmigiana with neither side eaten. read more
